Is it possible to ask the Mass Effect team if they know if there'll be a physical copy of the Deluxe edition for PC? I think that I already read something similar on Reddit. They said that the Deluxe Edition and the Super Deluxe is Origin exclusive and so you won't find them as a physical copy. Bummer... I would really like to have one and not just a virtual copy on the 'net...  ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
I avoid virtual copies like the plague.... internet cap and all.

Funny, i think almost the same. Virmire decision was a bit hard but now when doing a trilogy playthrough i prefer to have Kaidan with me in the Normandy because first Ash got the axe in content on ME3 and second because i find weird how much they made her jump ranks and there is the Spectre title ( i can understand the appeal of Kaidan as a powerfull L2 biotic but I find hard to believe there wasn't another alliance soldier more qualified than Ashley to the job). Agreed. There must be hundreds more qualified. Why would they not pull from the ranks of accomplished SpecOps or intelligence officers? Kaidan made perfect sense; Ash, not so much. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Since I dropped K after I 1st met him, Ash was the only candidate. But, also found Ash a whiner.

I've been thinking that is a possibility. Basically, Alec Ryder was selected for humanity's ARK because of his experience and skills. He was informed about the Reapers to ensure he knew about the stakes and he agreed to go as long as his children were guaranteed places aboard the ARK. The Ryder twins could still have been accepted onto the ARK on account of their own ability so the guarantee might not have needed to be invoked. The point of the guarantee is to show that Alec Ryder cared about his children and avoid making it seem like he'd have been fine with them being left facing a Reaper invasion.
If they wanted to, it could also be what happened to Mama Ryder since they implied she'd have a story to her. It might be that there were only so many places so she and other family couldn't go. She might have known about the Reapers or she might not have but I could easily see Ryder discovering a voice-only file from her where she tries to assuage Alec Ryder's guilt because he felt he left her behind to die.
Not knowing any of this could lead to some roleplaying options and interesting relationship. Imaging a Ryder that has a negative relationship with and view of their father but who eventually learns about the Reapers and discovers this about their father. It could provide a nice oppertunity for optional character development for Ryder.
Me three xD It would be nice if something like that happened. Lets hope someone at bioware thinks the same. We have a kett who probably is an antagonist. Also, I think that doesn't dismiss Alec Ryder as other antagonist. As you say, if he did know about the Reapers and then he discovers 600 years later the communications with MW has been broken, maybe he assumes the worst. Maybe he starts to act very harshly, putting the milkywayers or just humanity in war against the kett for the resources. Because if he thinks they are the last humans in the universe... maye he went renegade. |

I hate to be the downer, but this update is weak. No real name for "PeeBee". No pic of Liam. (I can't believe they shared a pic of the side of a helmet.) Each sounds a bit high-strung, as well. Hmm. The coverage in general seems less substantial when comparing Andromeda to past GI cover stories. Especially Horizon Zero Dawn, which is slated for a similar release date. But, beggars and choosers and all that, so I'm glad it's just info regardless. |

Liam is a vanguard you think? They said iirc that classes function more like the old way for squadmates, this Explorer + narrative reason for being able to reset skills is a Pathfinder thing.

from that podcast: they have a figure, 100,000 people. they're not sure if that's per ark or for the whole initiative. the four council races each have an ark because each species has different life support needs.
in the podcast they also mention "Dr Lexi", an asari who helps out in the beginning. maybe the asari we saw in the trailer onboard what looked like the human ark?

The two questions that I don't like the answers to are two about DAI. One was about side quests, and the answer is that he doesn't really know what a side quest is in this game. This tells me that he's going to an area to explore, finding something, "Oh huh, you need this? Okay." Kind'a like DA:I. Think Blackwall here.
The other one was about lessons they learned from DAI. This makes me nervous.
I just wish that they'd have someone (like I dunno who) be your tactical officer and tell you when everything is ready and up to speed so you can take on your next critical mission. That's one thing that I just absolutely didn't like in DAI. Dropped into a world and .... Nothing. No army officer (even though I had Cullen) to tell me when the forces were ready. Nobody to tell me when the spies (even though I had Leliana) where ready. Nobody to tell me when the mages/templars were ready. So, you could stumble into the final battle wearing tier 1 armor, wielding a tier 1 weapon.
I dunno. I'm prolly sounding too negative right now, although that's not really the way I mean it.
