Definitely not keeping the default name. So far I'm already feeling like the Ryder siblings are less of our character than even Shepard was, and Shepard was pretty defined. It's not worth it for the name to be spoken in one scene. I named my FO4 character with one of the approved list, and don't even remember it being used more than once. I can recall the family robot in a convo, and that's it. It really doesn't matter, surname/you/commander/etc is enough. |

That was also my guess... SAM senses everything Ryder senses, so it would be like having your mother watching over you while doing stuff you don't want your mother's presence with Romance scenes are gonna be SO awkward! |

Codsworth is the only character that will refer to you by your first name if it is on the list in Fallout 4. |

It's not worth it for the name to be spoken in one scene. I agree but react the exact opposite. I think it's definitely worth it, for me a name has no value if it's never used. If it were a situation like Codsworth in Fallout 4 I might feel that way, since he is the only one that ever says your character's first name. But even then I kept my character's name as one among the list of options they actually recorded for. Luckily there was a wide selection. The only reason I ever changed Shepard's first name was to differentiate save files. I never did custom first names in DA:I either. |

Guess we'll see. I'm still naming my character something else.
If I ever play Scott I'll keep his default name (and face), though. He looks young, but there's some charm. Same with male Hawke, al though I changed mine because he looked almost as old as Leandra.

I expect "Pathfinder" to be used more often than not but in friendship/romance scenes it would really cool to hear her name being said. Edit: Well, I suppose "Ryder" would be used as often as "Pathfinder". Maybe moreso. |

I was exaggerating in a way when I say just 'one scene'. I know there will be more, but it's still not at all worth it to me. I want the character to feel at least a TEENSY bit like mine. I don't have an issue just imagining my character's friends saying her first name at crucial points. I've done it happily with all BioWare games. I don't need to hear it aloud.
