I hope they don't do a remake at all. Very happy with the game as it is., bugs (black and pixelated Shepard) and all. I won't buy it if there is a remaster.
i really like pathfinder's setting but i REALLY don't like how focused on min/maxing the rules are. it's designed from the ground up by and for min/maxer's and autists. the rest of us normies have to play on crayon eater difficulty just to hit a target. j00t Fires Of Heaven www.firesofheaven.org/
It was last year and at the time he was saying we should just remember them the way they were att. Because measured by modern standards they arent so great but our expectatiins are raised by nostalgia. So its a double hit of disappointment is what i think he was getting at.
Just glad i'll be seeing an upgraded final confrontation with Saren/Collector base/Final battle.
To Marauder shields; on frostbite!
After 5 years and $40 million they give you a Mass Effect beta demo to prepare for Anthem. Sold at full price featuring never to be resolved cliffhangers. BioWare is over Pyjaks.

I think the article jumped the gun by being so confident about a Mass Effect remaster - it hasn't been announced, and the EA VP said they'd need to be selective about which games/series/franchises were getting remastered.
It may indeed be announced one day that Mass Effect is getting a remastered version, but I don't think that assumption should be made on the basis of those (pretty vague) comments. It's a huge stretch to then interpret that to mean importing the old games to Frostbite and fully updating the art assets/graphics, which to my understanding would require enormous resources.

Indeed. Though as someone pointed out in BioFan's thread, maybe they would port it to the current Unreal Engine...?
But as I also mentioned in that thread, if they do go ahead with this, I hope the work is outsourced to another company.
As cool as a ME remaster would be, I'd want BioWare to focus on making new games, not remastering old ones.

Hey peeples, same Kierro from the original forum. How's everything? Nice to see Hrungr and Biofan are here

It means they're considering remasters, and we should tell them on social media how much we'd love to play it. Sense apparently the outcry after they announced they wouldn't do remasters helped to change their minds.
BTW, this is what the trilogy's engine is capable of today:

Unreal 4 sure looks pretty, but it's not the same engine as the one the trilogy is built on. It's actually a completely different development environment and would still require all new assets to be built, since the ones in the old ME games (unreal 3) don't have enough polygons or good enough textures to port over. It's not a straight upgrade to just go from one engine to another, it's essentially starting over from scratch in many cases. Also EA is so heavily invested in Frostbite, that any game they would release on the main franchises and IP's would more than likely include a clause to make sure it runs on Frostbite(this part is just speculation).
While I would love to see Shepard's story remastered I have to agree with Hrungr on this one, IF they decide to make remasters, please outsource it so Bioware can concentrate on making new exciting stories, not re-skinning old ones.

I don't think we'll see it on Frostbite. I really don't think they're gonna remake the games, they will just remaster it. Probably gonna make it prettier, upscale the resolution, make it 60 fps, adjust some little things and that's it. (i think)
One thing that won't be too big and they could do without problems would be a fix to the quest log in ME3

Huh, I always thought you were male, PCThug. *shrug* Also, blech MGS5. Sure, it was pretty. Story? lmao. Yeh, right. That had a story. "I'm gonna go kill some guys!" Wow, I've never heard of a story so original.

I'm playing through Wind Waker HD right now and I think it's a perfect example of what I'd like to see in a Mass Effect remaster. Updated visuals, tweaked gameplay, but it's essentially still the same game. I think most people expect updated visuals, but ME1 could also use an updated audio engine, because some of its features currently rely on EAX, which most hardware doesn't support.
