We did speculate about this possibility, a while back.  Nice it is confirmed.

Interesting that they're pushing 4k support. I just upgraded to two 4k monitors.

That doesn't help me. And I still don't see it. He's got scruff like Cullen. That's all.

I want that so much but I don't think they've done that since Dragon Age: Origins. Still, here's to hoping!

Now that I think about it, they did release a demo of Dragon Age 2 that included the Character Creator. It was just different in the finished product, I believe. I'd be happy with them demoing the character creator on steam although I think I recall it being more than weeks before the game's release in the case of Dragon Age Inquisition.

I realised this morning that last night's conference footage is slightly different from the video Bioware uploaded to Youtube, so for those who didn't see the live event and are interested in the (possibly AI) squadmember, you can check it out here there are two brief voice clips from our very British (and somewhat synthetic) sounding squadmember: one early on and the other just before the cutscene at the end.

It also suggests that our "formal" title will be 'Pathfinder', likely the same way that 'Commander' was in the trilogy, or 'Herald/Inquisitor' were in DA:I. Then for more personal interactions, I assume we'll hear 'Ryder'.

(And I also randomly stumbled upon the interview with Aaryn after the press conference while looking for the original gameplay reveal, so, just for reference, it can be found at about 2 hours in.)
