It's the only avenue they have left to generate income. Plus the whole content trickle thing they're doing is the status quo they established for the game early on. Hell, one of the characters they just released was technically added in a patch two months ago, along with a few more characters that haven't been released yet.

I wanted to save the Quarians in game.

Bioware wanted conversation to take place on Facebook and Twitter. Their actions caused this outrage and they're experiencing the consequences.

Yeah, if people must flood twiiter and facebook with crap, they should at least do it in EA's and it's execs profiles, complaining about how they fucked Bio over. All they do now is make the Bio devs go "yeah, I know" when no issue with the game is really their fault...

And they kept adding new and interesting characters. Also a huge portion of the players do like single player content.

Completely agree with you on this.

From even BEFORE the game released to now, Twitter and Youtube has been fucking over the Mass Effect accounts...

"Bioware ruined Mass Effect!"
"Fix the goddamn animations!"
"Where's my Quarian DLC!?"
"Fuck you Bioware, you abandoned Mass Effect!"
"Boycott Anthem until Bioware listens to us!" (Seriously? Don't ruin & involve the people that are excited for Anthem, leave them be)

Left and right, one way or another, everyone's complaining, giving shit to anyone associated with the word "Andromeda". I'm pretty sure the team has already gotten all the fan's messages/arguments/hate/complaints/"criticisms" for the whatever'th time already. Give them a fucking break for once, you're making everyone's lives (including yourself) miserable.

Not really sure how asking to tone down negativity immediately equates with 'a pat in the back'? That's not how it works.

And asking to tone down negativity across gaming community overall is needed. This doesn't just happen with Bioware. Only recently some other game I play and I know is pretty damn popular began talking about new patch and pretty exciting new features and some people just Can't. Stop. Whining...

They were. Now you and others won't shut the hell up. The rest of us are tired of the ranting.

Ironically enough, it seems Bioware abandoned its forums because they had viewed them as becoming too toxic.

They then recommended people get in touch with them and send feedback through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc., perhaps believing that these forms of social media were less toxic and more constructive than the old forums.

Now, it seems to be the opposite. Now people can directly post on Bioware's video and employees' accounts, which seems to have amplified people's toxic thoughts.

Meanwhile, these forums, while not perfect, seem to have a lot more reasoned discussion and debate compared to other social media.

How times have changed

And yet, that seems to be exactly what they've done by dumping MEA to the curb and running away as fast as they can.
