Chris Hepler @theotherhepler I was on the Unannounced Canceled Project when all hands joined in to playtest before locking the content. The feedback I remember was: 1) The moment where you become the first human Spectre should be a big deal. 2) A 90% male species rarely occurs in nature because (science) 3) Telling the Council that you had a dream and that's why they should listen to you should get you thoroughly mocked. Those 3 got implemented. I suggested a much flashier opening that would completely blow the art budget, so that never went anywhere. Time passed. I joined the #SWTOR team, and then 3 writers left the Mass 2 team and a fourth broke his shoulder right when VO lockdown hit. So I was told, "Chris, we need someone to write the non-VO text: the Codex entries, weapon descriptions, and Galaxy Map. Go!" #N7Day So I asked, "How do I make a planet?" being used to Star Wars' planets. Ice planet. Desert planet. Forest planet. Prison planet. So Chris L'Etoile handed me the Traveller Director's Guide chart of minimum molecular weights of gases retained by a heavenly body. #N7Day I was like, "Uh, does your audience actually care if this stuff is accurate?" Answer: "Some of them are astronomers. More importantly..." "...it's what we did in Mass 1, and if we change it now, we get dinged for inconsistency. So learn everything you can." #N7Day I wrote a lot. I flubbed a bit (the Mass 2 planet stats are really not as good or consistent as the Mass 1 and 3 planets), but there it was. Then I was on Mass full-time. If you're wondering what monkey chained to a word processor headed up the Cerberus Daily News, that was me. In Mass 3, I kept a lot of non-VO responsibility and wrote some quests and characters. Thane, EDI, and a rough draft of Samara's mission. One of my fonder memories was staying up all night at the local GameStop for the midnight release of Mass 3 with @sylvf1's gaming group. The day had been full of people roleplaying on Twitter because of the Emily Wong #solcomms hashtag. That was me retconning why she wasn't... ...in the game. There had been some kind of kerfluffle with the actress and the character had never been worked in. So, er... fixed? Anyway... my last real hurrah was Citadel (casino heist level). After a few months on ME:A I got downsized. So now I'm at Seasun Games. The major upshot of which is that I should end my lunch break and get back to work. #PiratesOfTheCaribbean game ain't gonna write itself.
Danielle RayN7e @daniellerayne #MassEffectAndromeda fans, you've made my 1st #N7Day stellar! A big fat kiss from me & Vetra to all. Thanks to everyone at @bioware @masseffect esp. @cablivingstone @sherylchee @gamblemike @macwalterslives @tibermoon

I actually did enjoy this N7 day. Sure, some of my predictions didn't pan out (), but I loved the anecdotes, videos, twitters and the Archives site was a great trip through memory lane and nostalgia.

No, there's been no earthshattering announcements, but the Archive is a very neat feature (and gives me hope BioWare intend to continue the franchise eventually), and I think most of all it's been really great seeing the various devs/VAs past and present so active on social media, sharing stories and tidbits from their time on the games.
Actually felt like a full day of stuff, rather than a couple of things thrown to us in the morning and that's it.
Jos @sjosz I have worked on a mission that takes place inside a space ship for every of the 3 Mass Effect games I've worked on. And for each game I tried really hard to find *something* that conveys the feeling of space as an experience. My personal little goal. We're now more than 5 years on from Mass Effect 3, but I'm still very happy with the umbilical space walk in the Geth Dreadnought mission. That umbilical spacewalk was expensive, unsupported by the engine, and would break if you looked at it wrong. It's a miracle it made it in. An early version of it had combat in it, too, but there were several technical issues that made it impossible. Ended up better for it.
Jos @sjosz I spent a good deal of time looking at reference of space ship/naval ship layouts and organization for the space ship levels. Wanted to make sure that the ships I helped build made sense, layout wise. Make it feel like it has a logical progression. It helped to make it seem like the closed doors you can never go through continue on to some other part of the ship you're in. Separately, spent time reading up on the more interesting spaces inside those ships, and fulfill the fantasy of walking in those spaces. The main one I got obsessed with was that dreadnought class ships have a main rail gun that runs the length of the ship. You might recognize that description from the main gun battery you fight through (and the rail gun chamber you run through!) in ME3. Had to do some creative tweaking of the numbers for that space. The rail gun would accelerate slugs at way too high a speed to see. So instead of up to 4025 km/s, and firing a slug every 2 seconds, I slowed it down so it could be part of that space's gameplay. It's still a fine line to walk. Do it too little, it stops feeling like a real ship. Do it too much, it stops feeling like a real place. I still remember taking the level to review and @caseydhudson asking what type of shockwave the rail gun was causing. Details are important. In development, the connecting maintenance shafts in the ME3 dreadnought level connecting to the main rail gun I labeled as Gethries tubes. Normandy SR-1 blowing up, crashed Geth ship in Overlord, Shadowbroker's ship exterior, Geth Dreadnought, Salarian Ark/Archon's Flagship. That's a lot of space ships. Non-space ship stuff: Grunt's recruitment, Jack's loyalty, Zaeed's loyalty, Grunt's rachni mission, Citadel's casino hub, vault on Eos. There's an audio log in ME3 Citadel in which Anderson recalls a guy named Hendricks and to this day @jaywatamaniuk refuses to say if it's me.

Yeah, but "great surprises" 😑? BioWare used that term very loosely. If anything, to take away from this is that you don't have this up and running just to have it sit there and go to waste five to ten years later. So, maybe they think a game is inevitable down the line, just not now. It's not like DAI, were it's actually useful. Have they said anything happening on Nov 20th? It's actual anniversary.
James Berg @jamesbergcanada #teN7 ME was the main reason I joined EA, nearly 10 years ago. Very proud to have been able to help run UX research for Dragon Age: Inquisition, help out a bit on Andromeda, and now help lead UX research on Anthem. #PlayersFirst #Bioware 1/2
Related - I /desperately/ wanted to join a ME playthrough QA team back in the day. Instead, the business day before I was supposed to move, I got sent to NBA JAM. Design and QA work there led me to joining research, leading to way more Bioware involvement. Life is strange

Simmerplayer27🌼 @simmerplayer27 can we use this to import an ME1 save for ME2? Like with Dragon Age Keep you can set a world state for Inquisition?
Fernando Melo DiscoBabaloo No, this is purely for players to mark how they want their history to be (and maybe explore & find some things they didn't know were possible) It will read your MEA decisions, not MET - those need to be manual. There is no import though.

Seems like a waste of space on there. Still, its only use is to find custom Ryder's and to save those Ryder's for future use. However, hope for a sequel in Andromeda has risen a bit. Why would they need the site to "read" our MEA decisions if there wasn't going to be another game set in Andromeda? Unless I'm not understanding what he means by "read".🤔

katy townsend @thecheekyscot Happy #N7Day lads and lassies! ❤️🙌🏻
Sis Ryder: I think you're cute and I like seeing you up here ... Also, the accent is ... I mean, it's not the only thing, but ... uh. Okay, I should just ... go over there, to the piloting ... thing
Kallo: Kill. Me. Now.
Cait was my favorite character in Fallout 4 also, mostly due to her accent. I kept expecting Suvi to bust out with some Cait-style swearing, but never happened.
