It is what happens if you are a monster and kill the quarians. If I had to choose, I might choose the Geth just because of the bad writing for Tali in ME3. (Why is she a member of the Admiralty Board? Why is she aboard Normandy? Don't bother to answer. They're rhetorical.) Fortunately, I never have to choose between Weekes' waifu and the geth.

And the Geth are not poorly written? Legion outright says "Our people" which is a violation of his mathematical and mental capabilities as a hivemind AI. There is no such thing as a "true intelligence" and Legion making a "direct personality dissemination" is both extremely contrived and also incomprehensible. Also look at my sig and remember the original creator of Legion was opposed to everything Patrick did with them in 3.

Patrick Weekes @patrickweekesWriter Zero Luke is an amazing craftsman. Ain’t nobody can do respectful shitgiving like a writer. It looks like Shepard just used his renegade interrupt to push the quarian off the ledge. excellent.

It is what happens if you are a monster and kill the quarians. No, the comment was regarding the quality of the visual, not the content. The former has nothing to do with writing. The latter obviously does.

I'm confused....what do those two visual images have to do with writing? I think this just something Luke (a writer) whipped up to troll Patrick or another coworker(s), nothing more.

Also look at my sig and remember the original creator of Legion was opposed to everything Patrick did with them in 3. Of course they screwed up the geth. They didn't force them onto me and my ship, though, like they did with a Tali. I'm already well aware of his views. His departure was a harsh blow to verisimilitude and internal logic for the series. The science in science fiction flew out the window in ME2 and gave us the finger in ME3. And the Geth are not poorly written? Legion outright says "Our people" which is a violation of his mathematical and mental capabilities as a hivemind AI. There is no such thing as a "true intelligence" and Legion making a "direct personality dissemination" is both extremely contrived and also incomprehensible. Polygon @polygonAnd now from our Video Game Theatre, a tense fight scene in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Too funny, I played that scene in game yesterday and it is almost painful to watch. What disappoints me more is I just read Nexus Uprising and in the books Morda sounds fearsome and larger than normal Krogan. Morda in game just comes across as petty and she is not the behemoth the book seems to portray her as. I actually feel this way about many things Star Wars. Written fiction almost always surpasses visual presentations. Some of the SW EU is crappy, but many parts are excellent. It really fills in and props up the weak parts and untold stories of the movies. I sort of form my own almagamated canon for settings like SW and ME. It cobbles together the films/games with any quality stories and lore. The version in my head never contradicts good lore, and is generally way better than the on-screen versions.

Did you get an impression from the book that Morda was like a good foot taller than Drack and heavily built? That's the impression I got but in game she seems to have the same physique as every other Krogan.

I also thought she was smart and clever. In the game, we got midget* krogan and petty, silly Morda. * Not sure what krogan would call little people. Probably "dead" or "snacks". The games never do krogan justice. If they followed lore, a single krogan would be a serious threat to an entire fire team. We saw this somewhat represented in the first game. Since then, though, it's been :srs:

Nah that is more likely just the weird fighting mechanics of ME1. Also making models always seems to be a low priority for Bioware, they took 3 games to finally make a turian female model and 4 for the krogan.

Considering the state the game shipped in I doubt that creating a unique model for Morda was high on the priority list.

Those ME1 Battlemasters were the best. Exactly as you guys have addressed, Singularity, Lift, Throw and Incendiary/Polonium Rounds were my preferred weapons. I always enjoy the Battlemaster and geth troops on Therum. If you don't cue up a sound team strategy, he can stomp out the team very quickly. Those ME1 krogan could charge like a runaway train.

Yeah, the Battlemaster fight at the end of the mission to rescue Liara from Therum was intense...that and fighting Benezia and her Asari Commandos on Noveria were as close as I came to throwing my controller in that game. It definitely required you to determine how you'd want to approach the battle with your respective team member, what power to use on whom, if and where you could seek cover, etc.

Not Twitter, but sufficiently related. Daniel from Spacedock included the Tempest in his Top 5 Exploration Vessels list as #2 (behind the almighty Galaxy class from Star Trek). The video is linked in the spoiler below.
