possibly the player base will determine whether they'll keep the servers up or not. After all it doesn't cost them much to keep them.
And that player base will dwindle or remain depending on the quality of MEAMP.
I'm hoping to play both , at least for a while.

There are not many players left in ME3MP so I would say that the servers will be kept up for only a short time. I will definitely try MEAMP but doubt I will want to grind for prestige points so probably will spend less time on it compared to ME3MP.

I'm finding the servers reasonably active at the moment (at least I'm finding games fairly easily across difficulties). Perhaps as Mass Effect is more in the news. MEAMP (if successful) can kindle a new interest, for newcomers to the series, for ME3MP. I guess ME3MP will stay live for a bit after MEA release.
Once MEA is released, there are little to no chances that I will go back to ME3MP.

It's pretty simple: ME3MP will be live as long as the profit from selling packs for BioWare points aka real money is bigger than the costs of running the multiplayer part of the game.

I would certainly start playing MEAMP, since the acquisition of goods is a slow process & it normally helps to start new games early on. I do expect the ME3 module to shut down, as it is already not actively maintained/supported. It will create an odd situation, for sure, particularly because the accomplishments and manifests do not transfer or give bonuses between the two games.

Fortunately or unfortunately (depending upon your view), there are quite a few new players on PS3. These are not alt manifests bad on loadouts, etc. So, maybe it will be around a while longer.

I've already pre-ordered and will be playing it day one. I haven't pre-ordered yet since I'm still waiting to see more about the game, but I'll probably wind up doing so about a week or two before the game comes out. Definitely playing it day one, perhaps a blind Insanity playthrough will be a nice start if it's unlocked right away. |

I will play both....I still feel the MP will go on for a couple of years and with the ps3, online is still free so there will still be traffic for MP on that front. From a financial standpoint, i don't see them keeping the servers open for long on that platform if they can generate money off of the current systems.(Ps4/Xbox1)

I'll play the hell out of andromeda. I'm probably kicking my girlfriend's ass to the curb before the game even released to preempt any bullshit from her. That said I really hope ME3MP stays active in case andromeda sucks and to just play with some friends when we're feeling nostalgic between andromeda sessions.
