Morrigan thread - "Tis cold in my tent, all alone..."

I believe the companions comment on your romance as soon as it has been initiated.
I remember Alistair commenting on the party banter about my first kiss with Morrigan. "Mister Let's-Make-Kissy-Faces"

I think Alistair is a closet bisexual or something. He's not romanceable by a male warden, but he seems plenty jealous whenever the Warden initiates a romance.

I find it funny that some companions are so suspicious of Morrigan and even believe that dating her is dangerous.

Sure, she can be rude and occasionally voices support for some messed up stuff. Still, they've never seen her actually do anything bad. It would make far more sense for the Anders romance to get that kinda reaction.

To the two posters above. This is exactly what I've been saying. Is Morrigan cold? Yes. But evil? No. She has done nothing during the game or in her past that suggests she is evil. Sure she voiced her approval for an annulment on the Circle. Sure she found the offer the Tevinter slaver made interesting. But did she stab the Warden in the back when he said no to both? No. Like I said in the Dorian thread which applies to Morrigan as well. There both not bad people but they have a tendency of putting their foot in their mouths, due to their upbringings. Dorian in Tevinter and Morrigan with Flemeth. And yes, whatever plans she had for Kieran evaporated once she had him. So whatever she was thinking when she made the offer for the Dark Ritual is null and void.

At first Morrigan is the product of Flemeth's upbringing, so there is a darkness in her. 
Away from Flemeth, and in the company of the Warden, her inner light begins to shine. 

Alas this leaves her conflicted and confused, between everything she was taught to believe, and what she feels for her Warden.

Let us not forget that there's an aditional factor to Flemeth's upbringing.Morrigan was not simply just brought up by Flemeth,but pretty much adhered to her and her teachings.She was raised in the Korcari Wilds in complete isolation,with only animals being her "friends".There was not a single person present Morrigan could turn to that could perhaps act as an alleviating agent against Flemeth's influence,not to mention teach her the social norms.

I'm trying to be as subjective as possible(at least as much as someone with "Morrigan's Husband" title can be )but imho ,no matter how strong Morrigan is ,she's still the most vulnerable of the companions,even when it comes to simple human interaction,(perhaps of any game)with her socialization being close to non existant.I certainly would not be surprised with a person that has barely talked to anyone but one person her entire life(especially that one person being Flemeth)putting her foot in her mouth ,as talyn put it,and i cannot see how people could be more demanding of her in that area.

Travelling in the Warden's company was the much needed exposure she urgently needed.
Though i do not think that the confusion and conflict alone would have acted if it weren't for Morrigan's own mental strength.Had Flemeth a different daughter ,she'd perhaps be an exact copy of her mother,and possibly without the will to fight her back or see the truth about her,no matter the power of the emotion embued to her by the Warden.
Morrigan though is not only a survivor(as i've seen her being characterized many times)but also a thinker and thus,was able to resist her upbringing.And there was light!

And to quote an old Kate Mulgrew (Flemeth's VA)interview :"Morrigan is innocent. She is beautiful. She is vulnerable."!

Yep, I agree.   As for Aeryn Sun, Morrigan does remind me of her. Tough at first but gets soft as time passes with the Warden. Just like Aeryn with John. They are both played by Claudia Black too.
