while i was not impressed with Mansell's theme, it wasn't bad, just somewhat generic. It is never one i tend to listen to on its own, however in its context when Shepard leaves Earth during the attack, it worked. Mars was my favorite as well as End of an Era in Citadel for the atmosphere they conveyed. But the two themes that for me most captured the spirit of Mass Effect were the main opening theme to ME1 and Suicide Mission in ME2.

I thought ME3 had the best soundtrack of the bunch, though all three games have had a good soundtrack.
The only Bioware game where I've ever been disappointed with the soundtrack was DA:O. Other than a couple tracks, I thought it was boring. I wasn't sad to see Inon Zur go.

Hakuna your tatas mate, you will hear the theme in time. I've heard myself it is pretty meh. P.S. I find Leaving Earth overrated, there are much better musical pieces in the soundtrack (The Scientists, Surkesh, Mars, Reaper Chase, Rannoch...). I don't feel so alone anymore now, thank you. This the one you feel is overrated: ? If so I agree. I would rather this version:

Of course Vigil though is the essence of Mass Effect for me - right back to that main menu music in ME1.

It would seem that the outrage over the MEA theme performance has run out of steam, so I'm closing this thread up. Nothing wrong with a trilogy soundtrack discussion, so by all means, do discuss that in the trilogy sub-forum if you wish: bsn.boards.net/board/7/mass-effect-story-general-discussion Or open up an new Andromeda soundtrack thread when the time comes. Until then, here's a little soundtrack clip that's appropriate :
