I came across this not too long ago. It's hard to describe it but something in me kind of enjoys it.


So I guess Metallica just released a new song/video off their upcoming album. It's pretty good, straight up thrash song but nothing real special. Still gives a little hope that the album might have more thrash stuff on it but I guess we'll wait and see.

One of the great things about metal in general is its diversity. So many subgenres that ultimately are still under one category: Metal It's because of this diversity that bands like Lacuna Coil can exist and sound totally different from others but still be metal as fuck. I"ll admit I'm more into the extreme stuff myself but I enjoy a wide range of different metals bands. Different bands always have something to offer to everybody. You have nothing to apologize for

And on the subject of symphonic metal, here is Fleshgod Apocalypse. It's more symphonic death metal but it sure is epic.

In the lull between the Norwegian black and death metal scenes of the mid 90s to the present day you had a few Ukrainian bands kick off here and there.

This is one of my favorite tracks from the early 2000s



Hate Forest's The Gate

I am lucky to have a few of their albums, they are pricey and hard to get usually because good luck getting anything that gets a 'Neo Nazi' label thrown on it.

Best damn song ever.

It was a total mindfuck to find out years later that they had used Circle in Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, since it always made me think of post-apocalyptic barren wastelands. Just envision (or actually watch) some old footage from like the 50's of nuclear bomb tests @ around 3:30 of the track.
