Has anyone thought how Bio implemented the Loyalty Missions?
We can decide to either do the LMs while we encounter the option during game play or wait and do them after that main story arc is completed. At the end of the game we are "a super soldier" compared to what we were at the beginning, including our weapons and armour. So, going back to do Drack's LM (whom we met say at level 5) at the end of the game makes his LM a cakewalk because the opponents at the game's early stages are weak.
This does not make sense, to me. Any thoughts on how Bio can implement this mechanic "properly"?

Maybe the enemy you say you encounter at level 5 would scale to match your level after you complete the game?

Maybe the enemy you say you encounter at level 5 would scale to match your level after you complete the game? This would be the most likely case, and that's assuming that the mission is still available post-campaign. Missions that may not have direct ties to the main conflict of the story could still potentially be locked out at a certain stage if a plot point is reached (Example: Drack's loyalty mission involves going to a location that is later destroyed by whatever by the final act of the game, thus making completion impossible).

Yeah we don't know for sure yet but BioWare traditionally in Mass Effect has not had 'levels' on thier baddies, which means the bad guys are going to be as hard as they always were...and for the most part that was pretty hard. Or at the least end game characters didn't do 'early game characters' that much easier, more the weapon selection anyways.

Hm.. Well that's one possibility and the easiest to implement, I guess. What becomes interesting then, is if loyalty missions are truly optional. If I choose to do none of them, how will that affect my Andromeda Game 2 world when I import my game 1 file? Take Drack's mission as an example. From the leaked info, the Krogan colony ship is necessary for their colony world's survival. Ergo, no ship, no Krogan colony world. My game 2 universe says the Krogan colony world is dead while some else's says the Krogan colony is thriving. Makes for a very complex game 2 story writing exercise, I think. I just wish they write a story that avoids potential retcons in game 2, 3... etc.

Bioware should be able to handle the decisions with a bit more freedom.

Bioware loves adding the level scaling in its RPGS, it's a developers lazy shortcut to balance rather than putting effort into actual balancing. Baldur's gate, KoTOR, Jade Empire, all three Dragon Ages, Mass Effects 1 and 2, as far as I can remember only ME3 didn't have level scaling.
Considering how much inspiration ME:A seems to be taking from DA:I, I wouldn't be surprised if each zone or planet has level ranges same as DA:I.

It worked in ME2 from a gameplay standpoint (if you got your unloyal squadmates to survive the suicide mission or didn't recruit them) though not from a story standpoint because they still were told that you need them for the SM. That being said: we basically never had super-bosses we couldn't beat when we encountered them before. That being changed might be a sign that enemies have set levels in MEA - which would be a shame IMO compared to the trilogy.

Why single out loyalty missions? Scaling is a fundamental issue that any open world game (and I use that definition loosely) with character development has to get right because the content can be completed in any order. I don't expect this to be perfect but they have to put a lot of effort into getting it good enough.

Hopefully at least better than DA:I where it starts really rough but, as soon as you get a few levels + specialization, fights are won facerolling on keyboard.

DAI had extremely bad scaling although there is some hope because I think ME2 was actually pretty good, it definitely did things best for a Bioware game in terms of scaling. I'm not picky about this, I just want the gameplay to be engaging throughout and making it open world makes that much more difficult for them.

it just doesn't make sense to do the lm after the main story, how is that even possible?
