I've made threads like this before, but the question parameters were a little more loose. Here I'm asking for a specific summary of your companion wish list.
So first, state a squad size you'd like, and then list your squad, giving each character about one or two adjectives and a noun. The noun would usually be their class/species, but if it's a new species you're after, it's fine to say that. If you don't have preferences for certain aspects, leave those off.
In other words, say what the squadmate would be like as far as personality, ethics, or temperament, and then say what they are. Feel free to mention crew you'd like to see as well.
For example, mine:
Squad members (9):
Ambitious and charismatic male Turian
Extroverted/warm, and altruistic female human
Equable and gentlemanly (until he's in combat) male Krogan shaman
Calculating and exceptionally cerebral male Quarian hacker
Mysterious and conflicted Asari commando sentinel
Strangely intuitive AI with a myriad of inherited human memories
Opportunistic and ruthless human male adept
Empathic yet stoic male Andromedan species
Eerie, plant-like female Andromedan
Crew members:
Snarky Salarian pilot
Enthusiastic and adrenaline loving female pilot
(2 pilots, on the faint possibility one of them might like to sleep at some point)
Compassionate and noble Volus doctor

Fun thread, Lady! For me, I'd like to see a squad of 6: - A tough as nails human female soldier (think Vasquez from Aliens)
- A scholarly scientist quarian male (think of a Star Trek style science officer)
- A former STG salarian male soldier (think Kirrahe)
- A level headed female krogan diplomat type (think Eve meets Inara from Firefly)
- A ruthless neutral asari mercenary (think somewhere between Aethyta, Aria, and Samara)
- A tough little volus who is actually a capable soldier and engineer (like he has something to prove since he's a volus)
EDIT: I meant 7 because I definitely want to see an Andromedan. Maybe one of the play-do species? Just can't be more specific because I don't know much about them yet.

Well, ain't this interesting I've been thinking about my dream team for Andromeda, so here goes : My squad size would be 7, because 7 is the magical number. I would prefer my dream team to consist of dropouts and criminals so that when they do become heroes, no one would expect it (sorta like Guardians of the Galaxy) A ruthless Turian Mercenary (He was hired to protect the Arks) A drunk Krogan Shaman (He'd been exiled from Tuchanka) A failed Asari Commando candidate (She has the skills, just not the discipline) A rogue Salarian STG Agent (He sabotaged a mission on moral grounds) A traitorous Kett Soldier (She betrayed her people because she doesn't believe in their cause) An elusive Human Fugitive (She tricked her way onto the Ark in order to escape Alliance justice) A hardcore Human Marine (He was dishonourably discharged by the Alliance before being recruited by the Andromeda Initiative) As for my Tempest crew members, I would like: A suicidal Vorcha Pilot (She used to fly with the Void Devils) An enigmatic Batarian Doctor (No one knows where or how he got his medical license, but he is very good at his job) An unproven Quarian Engineer (Having never completed his pilgrimage, he hopes to instead aid his people in the new galaxy) A grumpy Volus Comm Specialist (His job would be similar to Traynor in ME3 except he doesn't like taking orders from the newbie) A cheerful Human Cook (She tries her best to provide for the various species onboard but don't eat any of her meals without putting some salt first)

Wow, a great thread!
Okay, let me try it. So, I will try to work with a team of 8 available Companions.
Vetra – whoever she is, she is what I have wanted for a while, and that’s an insight in the mind of the females of the species, so that leaves me with 7 imaginary Companions a-la Domi.
Wanted Companions, a-la Domi:
M!Andromedian: clever and resourceful, anti-human sentiments, forced to work with the Pathfinder F!Andromedian: a dreamer fascinated by the inter-galactic travel, turned the world upside-down to get to work with the Pathfinder
M!Batarian Vanguard, a ruthless mercenary with a golden heart M!Quarian Infiltrator, a clever intelligence agent M!Vorcha Hound, an unapologetic comic relief, a pet F!Volus Engineer, a no-nonsense genius F!Drell Adept, a total Drell-Zen mystic, a health nut

I had some good ones back on the old BSN. Let's see if I remember them. Not all of them may be squadmates.
A self-restrained ardat-yakshi. Immensely powerful, used to prey on people but is now trying to kick the habit and do good. Is bascially a metaphor for an addict. A pacifist Turian- engineer or medic. Has distinctly non-lethal powers (though it likely won't make significant difference in gameplay) A male quarian anarchist/outcast A trigger-happy salarian soldier A limited neural net AI- autonomous intelligent unit in one body. Does not need to be humanoid. Cannot just "hack into" things on a whim or upload/download itself. It's a single limited entity the same way we are, only artificial. It doesn't want to be organic, it just is. See: Blade Wolf of Metal Gear Rising Some type of male human Some type of female human (stealth expert) Some type of krogan Some type of new alien, preferably not humanoid or anthropomorphic at all.
Others: Drell strategist- seems like perfect memory would be a useful trait for a chessmaster type character. Gentleman officer, could be a villain. Drell Thrawn in other words.
If I remember or think of any others I'll come back.

The Hero: Ryder, obviously.
The Number Two: A batarian veteran who led an attack on a human colony. He's haunted by dreams of the people he killed, and is trying to atone to humanity for what he did.
The Big Guy A female human explosives expert. She's loud, she's crass, and she doesn't think things through, but she's absolutely loyal to Ryder's family after Alec pulled her out of a mission gone sour.
The Smart Guy An asari hacker who uses finely-tuned biotics to manipulate machines. She used to work for the Shadow Broker, but quit after he ordered her to disable Mindoir's communications just before the slavers hit. She's been freelancing ever since, and signed on to the Initiative under a fake name after she stole some very hot information from the Council.
The Emotional Guy A young, somewhat naive male human. He signed on for adventure and exploration, and he's very critical if Ryder starts acting colonially towards the natives.
The Sixth Ranger: A kett with a personal vendetta against the kett government/religious/military/whatever leadership. He's not at all loyal to the Initiative, but he grows to respect Ryder as a worthy rival.
The Non-action Guy: A passive-aggressively snarky hanar pilot. He's perfectly polite and subservient, but he still somehow gives off a creepy "don't push it, because I've seen some shit, and I could kill all you bastards" vibe.
The Tagalong Kid: A brand-new SCORPIO-like adaptive AI assigned to the Tempest to learn how to manage tactics and interspecies relations. As the game progresses, it begins to mimic Ryder's personality, morals, and eventually appearance, whether that's good or bad.
The Mission Control A salarian STG strategist who came out of retirement because he owed a favor to Jien. He doesn't like to talk about his past, but it's clear that he had a hand in something that he regrets.
