EA access does typically give the ability to play a few days early. MEA wouldn't surprise me. It's only $5/month or $30/year if you want to get it on X1.

Since they're only showing off the console stuff so far, this isn't surprising since Sony doesn't allow EA to do EA Access stuff on their platforms. Microsoft does, so Xbox One will be the only console you can play Andromeda early on. But Access is also on PC, so it's to be expected that PC people will get the game early there, too.

All of them, in spite of their issues and forced updates and whatever, are all just faster and less resource greedy versions of windows 7. But beside the fact, EA Access not being on Playstation systems has more to do with Sony and the way they manage their platforms versus Microsoft doing anything. For much of the same reasons why EA Access doesn't exist on the PS4 is also why Fallout 4 and Skyrim Remastered don't have full mod support while the Xbone versions do.

I'm surprised that it's not an Origin Access title as well (same thing as EA Access, but on PC)...I'd rather play it first on PC than on the X1 or PS4.
EA/Origin Access is great though, for only $5/month.

EA/Origin Access is great though, for only $5/month. If it's EA Access on Xbox, it'll be the same for the PC. The article was probably written about some early marketing material that wasn't supposed to see the light of day, especially since that site is the only one covering it so far.

Both XBOX1 and WINDOWS are Mircosoft crap brands. So this surprises me little. The sheer hate for Windows versions since 7 confuses me. It is my opinion that the hate comes from the technical community -of which I consider myself to be. You know the ones who build their own computers and do not go out and buy a $450 computer that may not even run 1 1/2 years. However for me it is all about seamless, fluid motion and shear level of need to get to anything I want. Here are my main issues: Windows Vista: Had a memory leak that Microsoft never fixed. Which caused me to have to replace my motherboard and ram TWICE. Also corrupted OS inside of EVERY 3 months if you do ALOT of work on a Vista Machine. Windows 8.0-8.1: The Tile system. THE START BAR Even in 8.1 it is the buggiest implementation ever. The memory bug is still present. Data corruption. Disk Fragmentation occurs quicker and more often then ANY OTHER OS VERSION TO DATE. SIMPLY WILL NEVER USE AGAIN! Windows 10. Where do I even begin........ The tile system is still there. Which leads me to the start screen. The UI interface for files in the first place. The telemetry crap. Not bad? Try dealing with that telemetry hijacking with a dial up connection I dare you. The supposed better security which actually opens faults in the UDP, TDP lines of incoming and sometimes outgoing communication channels. Windows Firewall now a joke. Windows Defender? Pfft. Microsoft Edge? Internet Explorer was more a man than it will ever be. The double disabled administrators' account that is for me a necessity. That decrepit Windows Store. PC Settings in place of the old control panel. (Reaches out for MS necks). One Drive (UGH! GAG ON SPOON!) File ownership not allowed when already admin 3 levels deep. The default programs for all media. The fifteen open folder limit. No accessing the registry from the get go. The awful alert system. The automatic updates that kill the OS into endless boot-up loop or give the BSOD..... ....I could keep going but I think the point is made. NOTE: I have found ways around all of these. Don't tell Microsoft please. It takes approximately 5 hours after Windows 10 install to get to how I like it. Ok to not be so negative I will give them at least one positive: At least the Start-bar can be moved around.

I've seen this listed. My expectation is that MEA will be available on Xbox One to EA Access users, up to a week ahead of launch. However: I 'took advantage' of this when DAI was launched. It simply wasn't worth it. - It was capped at, I think it was 6 hours play - so there was constant pressure to push ahead ruining the enjoyment of the prologue.
- Then it was further capped in that I couldn't even leave Haven for the Hinterlands. EDIT: Actually leave the Hinterlands...
- Once I'd gorged myself I had to wait along with everyone else and ended up replaying from the start anyway.
Short answer: It annoys other people that this exist but it's not a meaningful benefit, you can lick the fork but not eat the meal.

That's not right. I also played the EA access and you were able to go to the Hinterlands. You just weren't able to get out of there.

That sounds really annoying. As tempted as I'd be to even get a sample of the game ahead of time, I'm also one of those folks that would absolutely burn through everything very quickly. If it's a demo that I can play for free, whatever, but I wouldn't want to pay for that.

I may be misremembering then, I recall being annoyed that I couldn't progress with the map - it was annoyance at not being able to leave the Hinterlands then, I stand corrected

If you couldn't leave Haven why did they put a time limit?

Never really seriously considered paying for EA Access before, but I'd definitely throw $5 in to be able to play MEAMP on PC a week or so early and get a jump on learning all the maps/factions/kits/guns/etc.
