I don't have a lot of problem with hair.. so long as it isn't too pixellated. Eyes are more important too me, they need to seem more alive and I would like a normal range of colours than the whole spectrum we could use in DA:I. That would be a step backwards. There is literally no downside to having a colour-wheel; if you want a vanilla colour, just choose one. Also worth noting that you didn't even have to use the eye-colour-wheel in DA:I, you could select from a few preset colours just like every game before if you so chose.

Better hairstyles.
Guys should have the option for neck length or a ponytail at least. No more of the weird geek hairstyles from ME3.
More body types. Buff, thin, fat, ripped. Sometimes I just want my guy to look like a tank.
Better facial hair. 3d beards, more defined beards and moustaches.
Freely choose hair, body, and eye color. Use something like Soul Calibur's Create-A-Soul system.
Biotics/Tech involved in cutscenes. They seemed to have been going this route with Citadel, which I like. I don't want to see a biotic Ryder banging on a glass with the butt of his gun. Warp/Shockwave that shit.
That's all I have for now.

F'ing realistic hair options. Enough's enough Bio. Lego plastic hair doesn't cut it among 2016/17 AAA titles. That latest 4k trailer didn't exactly inspire that anything has changed in this regard.
Better noses for males. I hated the nose options in the previous ME games. I just never could make a decent looking male character cause of those damn Neanderthal noses. If they use a similar system to DAI it should be good.
Body slider (or at least a few different body types to choose from).
Finally, a SHOW IN CUTSCENE button that you can click to see what your character will look like from multiple angles in game cutscenes. I know this would save many people the trouble of starting over multiple times because the character they thought they'd gotten "just right" ended up looking wonky in the actual game.

In ME1, my Shepard had all of the heavy hitting biotics unlocked by the time I got to Virmire, yet Saren was able to get within arm's reach without being flung off the platform with max throw, or Shepard not instantly charging into Kai Leng, because talk is for fools.

The rest is desirable but secondary to the light, because it's the light - different at creation and during gameplay - that makes our perfect characters we spend hours to create look like a living horror when we begin the game. I already expect countless re-starts and hate in advance that un-skippable first scene we will definitely get in MEA.

Colour options for all Omni-Things(TM) would be fantastic, too.

Well, I submitted my post before reading the whole thread, because I was rushing, and I'm pleased to see many of my thoughts shared by others This is good, because the more people suggest these things, the more likely it is they'll come to fruition, and it might mean that more people elsewhere on the internet are also suggesting them, and maybe, just maybe, Bioware themselves have some of the ideas themselves! So if I repeated something you wrote, don't feel bad, and besides, I dare say a little repetition is needed with these things I don't doubt that we'll be able to put together a decent looking female Ryder, as the one in the trailer and pics looked great to me. Male Ryder, i'm hoping for a decent default like Sheploo in the trilogy.Too late! I'm sort of joking. I'm not the most qualified to judge how good he looks, nor the most invested, but I think Sheploo looked better. Although, we might as well have some normal looking people in our games. They're the exception when it comes to main characters anyway, so it's probably a good thing And you can customize them, of course. Female Ryder looks fairly normal, too. I really hope we get to customize both siblings. And honestly, anything less wouldn't make much sense, what with family resemblance issues. DAI did good with the eyes, loved the two-tone option. I'm sure people would like that whole thing where both eyes are different color as an option which would be nice too. On the topic of hair there is 1 change i would LOVE to see - color options. BioWare does not understand what blonde means. That has been absurdly apparent since ME1. Blonde, apparently is either platinum blonde (which alright sure) or 'dyed my hair with mustard' which... wtf? Anyway point is considering all the color complexity we got in DAI it was a shame that didn't extend to the hair. So with that in mind I would love, and hope, that they give us full color range on hair. Preferably 2-3 color options or a kinda comlextion slider for hair except it's highlight patterns or something. Also and this is important to me for some bizar reason - Eyebrow intensity slider. Now all I mean by that is a basic slider bar that determines how transparent (faded) the eyebrows are. You know, like tattoos or makeup. I agree, 2-3 colour options for hair (along with a wheel) with highlight patterns would be spectacular, and an eyebrow intensity slider would be another nice addition. You're right that Bioware can't seem to pull off proper blonde (or black, and even red), so hopefully they've learned by now.
I'd like to see -- and I know this is touchy -- but a creator that does a bit better with variety of eye and nose shape. It takes work to make Shepard or the Inquisitor look Native American. I mean, on the other hand, humans are a pretty diverse crew and it'd be a pain to have presets for everything. I could just use a bit more flexibility, instead of wasting time on making three unibrows. Why, Bioware? XD I do have a feeling I'll have at least one BIOWARE CHEEKBONES OF DOOM moment, where my lovingly crafted character turns out to look like a hideous frog person when exposed to natural lighting and animations. So yeah, a way to change your character after they get out into the world would be very welcome. More options are always good, especially so you can make different races. Haha, priorities, right? Should we make a bunch of uni-brows, or... anything else? Uni-brows, says Bioware Haha, that can certainly happen, and not just to cheekbones, though that sort of happened to me too with my Shepard. But my first Inquisitor turned out to have this odd ape-mouth/cheeks that I didn't notice in the opening CC (mostly my fault). I couldn't do anything about it, though, because no Mirror of Transformation yet, and it irked me through my whole playthrough. It irked me so much I went back to that playthrough when the BE was released just to fix her (and make other small adjustments, even though I had a new version by then ) Meredith 1.0
Meredith 1.1
Did the best I could to fix it, but I think the face-shape I started with screwed her over. I couldn't tell from the front, as you can see. 1.0
1.1
And revamped 2.0 for a new playthrough
I would love more diverse hair options, and I really really would love it if when I finished a character, I could somehow save it--either by the number system like the ME series had or having some default slots set aside for us to save some faces in. Saving a character when we're done would be great, but saving part-way through would be awesome! That way, you won't lose it if something unexpected happens, and it could also let you make some adjustments that you could quickly revert from if you didn't like them. So, you could change eye colour without losing your previous coordinates in the wheel if you don't like the change. Does that make sense? Or the same thing for any feature. You could change a bunch of facial structure features at once and still have a fallback if you don't like it. I'm sure there will be an option to have scars. I wouldn't mind dad or brother/sister making a comment about how he/she got them Oooo, yes, this is definitely an idea I've had as well! And it is related to the CC. Obviously, it would be hard to have lines that depended on exact placement, but just something that changed depending on if you had any at all would be pretty cool. Surely that's an easy flag. Even basic appearance could have flags. Say, if you were pale, someone could make note. Whether you had makeup or not. The colour of your eyes/hair, even, either if you picked one of the vanilla options or somewhere in a certain section of the colour-wheel. A romance could, instead of saying "you have nice eyes" say "I love the [insert colour] in your eyes". Same for hair, etc. It's doable, although I highly doubt it'll be a feature. Honestly, it can be a bit immersion breaking sometimes when any aspect of your appearance isn't noted by anyone. On that note, something I thought was a huge missed opportunity (and immersion-breaker) in DA:I was meeting Bull as a redhead. He's crazy about redheads, but comments on them like you're not even there if you are one. He doesn't even say anything if you romance him. It would have been even easier in DA:I, since there were only about 3 shades that you could call "red", so if your character had one, it would trigger Bull's line. Voilà! But nope. I'll take a lighting preview mode - watch your character emote in a variety of lighting conditions before leaving the CC, to make sure they don't look like demonspawn in the actual game - some better hair - with a wider variety of colour options/the potential for contrasting highlights - and some basic body variations--nothing fancy, like a slider or height options, but three or four muscle mass/overall shape options would be absolutely fantastic. Yes please! A few different lighting options in the CC (well-lit, starry night, dim interior, etc.) combined with a way to preview some basic expressions would be a phenomenal improvement, and very feasible. It would eliminate a lot of the need to redo/alter characters later. Definitely agree on some type of body customization, even if 3 presets or so. I'm just sick of the supermodel female protagonists who are supposed to be at least toned! Give me someone fit, at the very least. For realism, if nothing else. It really irks me. Besides, a little muscle can look good on a woman. Yeah, as I said in my post, they should have that as another option in the facial hair section. How they didn't before is beyond me. Aside from the things already mentioned *coughhaircough* (and I think I already said this in an older thread, so forgive me repeating myself) but I would like more diversity in complexions and skin details. For instance, one of my favourite things out of the Fallout 4 CC was the pigmentation options. They were really cool and different and allowed for some very distinctive looking characters. Definitely agree, more complexion options including separating freckles from complexion options would be ideal. Being able to add multiple layers and intensities of freckles/moles/marks etc. like Fallout did would be great, as you say.
Considering all hopes for good hair are already lost, my number 1 wish is be able to change the chacter AFTER the game started. Like the mirror thing from DA2 and DAI. This tool is just too useful to be left out because of logic. I agree, but it wouldn't even be illogical! Crazy-good facial reconstruction surgery, and presumably other cosmetic surgery, is a thing in ME. - Maybe some equip/weapon options to see how you could look throughout the game - some armor, some casual clothing, big guns or pistols - maybe some body animations like running, jumping, waving etc. Both would be great additions. Seeing what you'll look like in combat, as well as when performing basic animations would be pretty cool. This would also require being able to fully rotate the camera in the CC, as well, which would be a good thing on its own.
Nice vid! I usually think vids like that are overkill, since the script could as easily be read as listened too, but you used good visual examples to make your points. Okay, my wishlist. I spend hours in the CC, so a lot of my asks are quality-of-life improvements. *other good ideas snip* - Standalone CC experience/app. Release the CC as a free app independently, weeks before the actual game comes out (again, SR3 did this). With the ability to import a CC file (item 2 above), there's no reason for the CC experience to be built into the game itself. Harness all that pre-release excitement and get people's creativity flowing in the run up to release, not to mention up-sell people on the fence. This would also allow CC adjustments mid-run without having to have any sort of in-game "mirror of transformation/plastic surgeon" investment.
- More costume previews. We don't need every armor or casual wear option, but one example of each is necessary to get a CC design right. I don't know how many times I had to redo a CC design because what looked good in whatever the character was wearing during CC looked terrible in the armor or costume I ended up using most the most.
1. That's a great idea, and DA:O did it as well. I doubt it'll happen, but, eh...
2. That's also a great idea. It's good to get a feel for what your character will actually look like, especially if body-sliders/presets are implemented. Most are already listed but here are some of mine: Better lighting. No one puts their make-up on the dark. We shouldn't have to in the CC either. Face codes/export/save option before starting the game proper Actual black for hair, not grey-black or blue-black or whatever that color is in DAISeparate color options for eyebrows and hair; maybe some highlight options More hair styles; 50 shades of bald is not helpful Definitely... why they can't seem to make black without it being extremely shiny and also blueish is a mystery. I mean, look at this "black" hair: It's so shiny it's practically grey! And here, it's blue! Cass, too. Like, what? Improve your colours. Bioware pls.

Here's mine:
1) Decent hair options. 12 different styles of balding isn't a variety, it's repetition. The sideburns that all of the styles had in DA:I was also pretty bad.
2) Color wheel options for hair. If Shep can have purple hair in ME3 with no mods, I don't see a reason why not here. Unlike the DA setting, hair dye has been shown to exist.
3) The ability to make eyebrow color different from head hair.
4) A way to save face codes or faces in the CC. I've thought about it and face codes might not be as easy to implement as I thought. The sliders have a lot more variables than ME3 did, so it might be a real process just to type it all in. However, I don't see a reason why we can't have a save folder just for characters.
5) Better lighting in the CC than was in the DA games (especially DA:I.) Green is not a good color for getting colors right. I thought the ME games did a decent job of that. Hopefully they can keep it up.
6) I hated that I couldn't modify the default Sheps or the default Hawke. If they have any sort of "default" character, I'd like to edit them. I'd also like any "default" hairstyle available to all custom PCs. I'm not too worried about this though, since they'll probably avoid the default character style. I don't think we'll see another Sheploo-type on the cover or in the advertising.

Following in the footsteps of the tech savvy I managed to follow the instructions to mod it in once. It was a lot of work when I just wanted her to have the same hair but brown and with less make up! I truly hope for some decent short modern hair styles for both Ryder siblings. I'd also like to see better beard and stubble options too. My fingers are crossed for the return of face codes or at least a better way to judge the exact position of the sliders so I can duplicate the same features as required.

I would like someone who knows what make up is and how to use it advising the "make up" portion of CC. I can't tell you how frustrated I get when lip liner seems to not be lip liner. Or eyeliner is strange, or I can't adjust the intensity of colour on my characters eyebrows (if you're gonna give us sparse eyebrows, BW, please give us eyebrow powder). And don't get me started on the eyebrows. Can the eyebrows please extend to at least the length of the eyelid?Maybe a way to extend it a bit?
That's what I want, better hair, colour wheel for hair, more eyebrow options and make up options that bear a resemblance to current make up here on Earth.
This is not to say that DAI character creator wasn't fab, because it was. It just needs a bit more tweaking.

Seconded on the eyebrows thing. Find it hard to play DAI without an eyebrow mod - for females it seems to be a choice between very sparse and thin or huge and bushy! Some nice, shaped eyebrows would be nice. Mass Effect always seemed to do them pretty well I thought.
Hair obviously. I know it's never been one of Bioware's strong points but a little more variety would be nice. I know we're never going to have super hi-res textures and motion, which is fine, but even something that looked a little less plastic and rigid would be nice. I tend to favour shorter hairstyles anyway, so it doesn't bother me as much as some people, but more choice is always nice.
Different body shapes/scars/tattoos would be a bonus, but not a huge priority for me.
Aside from that, I thought DAI was a big step forward and if we could get something like that with a few tweaks here and there, I'd be pretty happy.

I remember playing Saints Row 4 and them listing the name of the color when choosing hair and eye color options. It'd be nice to be able to tell between specific shades.

I already expect countless re-starts and hate in advance that un-skippable first scene we will definitely get in MEA. °º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸,ø¤°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸ Did you notice the colour changes to Ryder as he approached different light sources in the 4K tech Video? I expect the game to show reflected light off objects, including off the armour of our protag and squad mates.

I was called Ryder before it was cool... ...I'd love to, you know, be social and things.

Here's mine: 1) Decent hair options. *I agree snip* 6) I hated that I couldn't modify the default Sheps or the default Hawke. If they have any sort of "default" character, I'd like to edit them. I'd also like any "default" hairstyle available to all custom PCs. I'm not too worried about this though, since they'll probably avoid the default character style. I don't think we'll see another Sheploo-type on the cover or in the advertising. 1. Not 12, it was 13. 13 styles of balding Well, actually a lot more if you count anything with a receding hairline. And the sideburns... ugh. Just ugh. How did that pass the alpha build?! No, how was it even made to begin with? Who approved sideburns automatically being on supposedly gender-neutral options? But I guess that's a pointless question, because a better one is "Who approved that hair selection in general?" Mmh, sorry, I get really rant-y when I think about this topic 2. I'd say dyes are proven to be a thing in DA simply based on the colour options we had. The "red" in DA:I is not a natural shade, for one (why you can't use Leliana's colour is beyond me). And Thedas is generally more advanced than the swords and bows make it look. If they can dye clothes (which they do), I'm sure they thought of dying hair. 6. I always hated that, too. Now, Sheploo specifically was different, because his face was scanned and not made in the CC, so I understood not being able to modify it. Not so with ME3's default Femshep, and both Hawkes. I really wanted to use Hawke's hair But like you said, I'm not too worried either, this time. Like DA:I, I think the two defaults will be crafted in the CC (male Ryder definitely looked like this, especially). As with DA:I, I'm curious to see how they'll make the cover. ME3 made the first step with a reversible cover with each (default) Shep, then DA:I had an ambiguous, androgynous person on it that you saw from the back (though I always thought it looked more like the Lady Inquisitor after seeing what she looked like in that armour). My personal guess for Andromeda is that Ryder won't be on the cover... or at least, not Sibling!Ryder. But their father? Anyway, guys! Guys! I had another idea for a suggestion, and this one is by far the most important yet! WE NEED CULLEN'S HAIR IN THE ME:A CC. We need it.
I mean, it looks great, it's normal, and it's on the same engine and everything! It should be easy to port over! And most importantly, I can make my character's sibling look like Cullen! Although, now that I think about it, that might be a bit awkward after romancing him... Anyway... It would be a great first step to having good hair again, and it's not like Cullen's in the game, so why not let the PC use it? Just look at that Honestly, I think he's the best looking character I've ever seen that was created with a CC and not scanned, quality-wise. I mean, yes, he's handsome, but he looks very real. And just look at this! (Beware, it's a tumblr link) And while you're at it, Bioware, make a SPACE version of Cullen's armour, so we can be Cullen IN SPACE! Like the Blood Dragon armour. It would be awesome. Always wanted to wear it. *cough* Sorry, I guess I got a bit carried-away there

Forgot to have on my list, though it's been brought up: Skip the unisex hair and eyebrow options. The first time I made a male Inquisitor and went to work on his hair, I thought I'd made a mistake and selected female. ALL THE OPTIONS WERE THE SAME!

I think Bioware ought to just hire BansheeOwnage as Associate Producer of the CC feature. Would be the best hire ever. I couldn't agree more with every single item in your list, but I have to call this one out and quote it for truth: - Another idea I had was to let us have a "Mission" hairdo and a "Casual" hairdo. This way, if you had long hair, you could, say, have a Mission Style that's up in a bun, but as soon as you get back on board, your Casual Style is used and your hair is down. Nice. YES! I hated the fact that I had to pick the practical style to look "right" in combat, but couldn't undo that choice for more casual or intimate moments. Particularly since practical usually meant severe looking. Talk about immersion breaking. Speaking of no regressions, keep the mode where helmets are on during combat, off during cutscenes. That's a good compromise between immersion and "I want to be an actor in my own movie." You never see Brad Pitt spend 80% of a movie with a steamed up faceplate covering his mug. Even when every other character on screen has one.

They could do it where both male and female Ryder are on the cover, since they are both actual characters in the game. They did something like that when they officially revealed it at E3 2015.

Ugh, such a terrible pose for the female. The male looks ready to go kick some ass, while she's just sticking hers out.

One thing I would like but I'm sure won't be an option is to have a voice option for Ryder. I love how Dragon Age: Inquisition had two voices per sex, one being lighter and the other deeper, for our Inquisitors. It allowed more roleplayability. Unfortunately with the sex we don't choose being a NPC(terrible idea) that means they'll have lines other than ours and will probably have a canon voice, thus them not pursuing the option.
