Well, I managed to do something with preset 3. My main gripes are:
1) I'd like her skin to be paler (akin to default Ryder's)
2) I'd like to change her complexion
3) I'd like to change her eyebrows
Which, to me at least, all seem like relatively simple things that could potentially be fixed in a patch. It wouldn't require a complete overhaul of the CC, nor cause conflict with the mo-capped animations.

thanks. I may actually use that as a template for my own custom Ryder ( based on Superman, of course ). I would use his preset except that I hate his nose. I want a different type of nose, namely without the bump on the bridge. This is why the CC has me disappointed. We should be able to shape a nose or choose from different nose types. That's CC 101. You could just do what I did: whack a scar on it and head-cannon that he broke it when he was younger. |

I can't help thinking the simplification is to allow the faces to be 'saved' to the internet for use in further games. DAI's CC was said to prevent 'face codes' due to its complexity. For that reason, face patches would also need to seamlessly update what they have developed for the web portal. (so tweaks are more likely than overhaul) Ian tweeted that it was due to the way they scanned in faces. |

I'm curious. The VA's use the default names in some lines. But if I named SisRyder "Scott" in the character creator (or BroRyder "Sara"), would they say "scott" in game?

I did think of that when I first saw them, but i also can't believe they wouldn't make some kind of effort to improve the CC. Bioware does not patch games. I don't think they have ever done such a thing in their entire history. The closest thing was the Extended Cut, but that's DLC. And that took the greatest fan bitchfest in gaming history.
Eeeh, DAI got patched up a lot. Wardrobe choices, lot of other stuff. ME:A might as well. |

Her lips inflate like Macy's Parade floats, unfortunately. I might have made them too big, I feel like every Ryder head based on preset 9 ends up looking that way, though. That one has been the easiest to work with by far, for me. |

So this is my preliminary Ryder. She's reroll #5, but I'm getting really close to the look I want. This is using headset 5 which while looks ghastly in the preset actually has really lovely features when you get rid of the awful bubblegum pink lips. |

i think i will stick playing with a default male . the default female looks beyond wierd i just cant stand her. the preset 9 is ok but i find quite disturbing that her dad looks nothing like her at all .
every preset looks the same. MEA is a world of clones since everyone and their mother use the few half decent presets.

After my first outing with the CC, I found the nose to be about the only thing I didn't feel the need to customize. Being able to adjust the width, length, and height gave me enough leeway to get it to look okay. The features I'd most like to be able to change are the eyebrows (including color) and mouths. And the haircolors all look like dye jobs, though the range of styles is better than what we've seen in the past. |
