It's Thalia Ryder! Not enough Ryders on this thread yet. I'm excited to see them all, crappy as the CC is, and impressed with what I've seen so far!

I will say, one upside to the face scan is our teeth look amazing.

so, spent about an hour last night messing around with CC.

and yeah, it's about as bad as I had feared........

For those of us who like fiddling around and fine tuning to get our characters "just right," this CC is a complete disaster, imo. Even when following numerous custom Ryder sliders posted online, I still never felt satisfied with the outcome - there was still something off or something that I didn't like but was unable to change.

With DAI, even when I followed online examples, I used those merely as a template and made my own changes to get the character how I wanted. If I didn't like the nose style, I changed it. I changed the angle of the eyes. Gave her a different mouth or brow. etc.

And therein lies the problem with MEA's CC. You can't make any of those changes. Other than superficial adjustments, you are essentially stuck with the features of the preset you pick.

And if you want to create a fairer/lighter skin female, you pretty much have only one preset to choose from - #3. And #3 is godawful ugly and one of the worst presets to work with.

whoever approved that as a preset should be......well.........whoever approved this whole CC and thought "Yeah. That's a good idea. Yeah, those preset look nice. Yeah, let's make it harder to create lighter skins characters. Yeah, let's make it impossible to change facial features." Whoever approved that, should be fired.

whether it's just pure lazy/poor design decisions, or something more nefarious ( pushing SJW agenda ), who knows? but the current system doesn't work for those of us who really like to customize and tweak our characters.

I have to say I am impressed with the medbay lighting. Rebekah always looks stunning and pale.

There was a really touching scene in the med bay. Perfect lighting and gorgeous emoting; I got some nice shots, I think; here's my favourite.

So, I tried making a male Ryder at first, but preset 3 has deep crows feet and they were just horrible, so I restarted about 4 times, and I made a female that I could accept. 31 hours in, and I actually love her.

Yes, it's a bad picture of him. But he always sucked at taking pictures. Also, you might have noticed the scratches on his face. She did it. Yes, she has anger issues, because she was teased in school for being adopted by Morgan Freeman and having a gay brother.
But that all changed the day she bleached her hair. She started smoking in the boys' bathroom, and she beat up Becky and Felicity.
She also has drinking problems. But don't mention that to her, cause she will "Fuck your shit up" (actual quote). She also insists she's never had lip injections, and if Kallo keeps spreading rumors, she's gonna sneak into his room and cut up his sheets. She enjoys tanning on EOS now that the radiation cleared, and she listens to Barracuda on repeat while driving the Nomad with her girls Cora and Vetra.
When she's off duty, she likes to hit the nightclubs on Kadra, and send Jaal links to human porn, just so he's prepared for when she finally comes for him.

I'm going with the headcannon that the Ryders are adopted and then going with safe eye colours so it doesn't matter if they have the same eyes.

But yes, I truly wish we could select Alec from a set.

So its not just me that finds the lips to be way to thick? I was trying to create a character with thin lips but irrespective of how I tweak it she still hass semi-botox lips

I guess I was right about not preordering the game, even if it wasn't for the CC. I guess I'll buy the game when the CC is been adjusted a little, even if I don't believe it will became much better. But at least no full price for me.
I really don't understand this regression. Expecially after the success of DAI's CC. It's been years since I have seen such a depressing CC.

Should we have taken this as a bad sign that we were going to lose customization options when they narrowed Ryder's personal background history and make a family mandatory?

I never liked how they decided aspects of Shepard's personality in ME3 and the CC in the third game was just as frustrating as well. I don't know...if this keeps up, I may lose interest altogether in the Mass Effect franchise if it means losing control of customizing the main character.

Ha ha, yes! But more badass, obs. Regina couldn't do this....

I never really liked playing Femshep in the Trilogy, but I'm loving Sara Ryder. And I've heard great things about Scott too.

I just want some sort of patch to update the CC for the better, I'll take anything at this point.
