I'm thinking I'll be playing a sneaky sniper man.

He'll be a nice sneaky sniper. Apparently Andromeda won't have paragon or renegade, but, you know.

My first protagonist will be an intelligent, curious idealist - and not nearly as wise and mature as she wants to believe she is. Her intentions will be good but she'll make poor decisions, and her naivety (and occasionally her temper) will often get the better of her. I'll keep the name Sara, and model her after a youngish Jennifer Connelly as a nod to a certain other female character named Sarah who journeys to an unfamiliar world to find she doesn't have all the answers after all. But with a bit of growing up, and with the help of some odd nonhuman friends... well, you get the picture. (If not, go watch the Labyrinth - the best children's movie ever made - right now.) She'll likely be a jack of all trades type, so I can try out everything, with an emphasis on biotics.

For my second I'll do a female protagonist named Ghost (a name I've used in other games). She'll be level-headed, aloof, and pragmatic. An infiltrator type with a heavy emphasis on tech skills. I'd love to make her a little awkward, if the game allows for it. I'll use her to make choices in the game that are a bit more grey, mostly just to see some different outcomes. Not sure how she'll look - I'll come up with something more specific after seeing what the character creator is capable of.

After that maybe I'll do a playthrough as Scott - but then I said I'd do at least one run as the male Inquisitor but never did, so, we'll see...

I'll wait and see if I can have the character I want.

I have decided to change Samantha's name to Cassandra. Well probably Cassandra it is now in the lead for names. Doing this over Sam the VI/ AI thing, I don't want my character to look like they are talking to themselves. Still will leave the character pretty much the same other then that but may free me up to do even more interesting things with her.

One of my favorite sayings that i invented is "Nothing is done until it is."  That said I was also thinking of Jessica and Rachel though.  Especially Rachel that would be the third name I am seriously considering.  Aiming for something with Hebrew influnces and trying to find a name that means knowledge/ exploration/ pathfinding, etc, but barring that I have always liked the name Cassandra...even before DA I...and her being a prophtess does kind of fit the bill.  (Though I know she's Greek and not Hebrew).

I have a couple of ideas, but with the news that we're going backwards into more autodialogue and semi-set personalities, I'm hesitant to develop them any further lest Sara be incompatible with them and it being for naught Still, here they are:

1. Thinking of making my canon a redhead since I haven't made any in any game, not counting auburn hair. Sort of funny considering it'll resemble default Shepard. I'll have to see what the colour and hair options are before setting this in stone, though. She'll look good but also fairly average, if that makes sense. If there were body-sliders, I'd make her fit, as a soldier would be. Probably going to use the default Sara name to see what hearing it is like... and because I'm lousy at thinking of original names.

She'll probably be similar to my other canons: someone I'd aspire to be like. The person I wish I could be, who says and does the things I might not be able to. A personal hero, I suppose. Self-insert in terms of basic morality, but that's it. Since we have next-to-no info, I can't say who she'd romance, if anyone. Not sure about playstyle either. Maybe something I haven't done before, like a biotic.

2. As much of a self-insert as I can, down to appearance, on account of my name being Ryder and wanting to make the most awkward and bizarre playthrough I can. For science! This means I have to have a custom name in order to maximize the number of times I get called "Ryder", but I have absolutely no idea what first name I should use since Ryder Ryder sounds dumb Pathfinder? Captain? The CC will also be a limiting factor here if it doesn't have the right options, particularly if hair options are as bad as DA:I. At least I have boring brown hair, so that should be okay. Hopefully we can do something in-between covering your entire face with obvious freckles and being barefaced. Too bad there are no body-sliders so I could go even deeper with RP and reflect my lanky self. She'll be less pretty than my canon

For this playthrough, I'll try to pick the closest dialogue to what I'd say in real life, which will probably amount to a fair bit of snark. She'll always try to do the right thing and stick to her principles, perhaps too much. She'll try to save as many people as she can and resolve most things peacefully. She'll probably be as socially-awkward as the system allows (so probably not at all  ), at least until getting to know people better. She'll probably make more mistakes and say the wrong thing more than my canon. Hopefully she'll be able to be knowledgeable.

Of course, how well I can do that depends heavily on what kind and how much of a preset personality Sara has... Probably best to do this on a second playthrough for that reason and others.

She'll be a very aggressive combatant, probably using heavy armour and a sword or hammer. Hmm, sounds like a krogan, actually While RP-wise Engineer would probably suit me best, it depends on if it affects personality/dialogue options as to whether I'll do that or use more Soldier/Vanguard type abilities. If being an Engineer means being able to be smart or geek-out about things, that's what I'll go with. I'll just be a very aggressive, melee engineer Maybe an "Explorer" who's part tank, part Vanguard, part Engineer. I'd be very picky about romances and will likely romance no one since I doubt I'll like anyone enough, but we'll see.

We need to know the answers to important questions, such as:

1. Will the system account for different spellings, such as "Sarah"?

2. Can you name your Scott "Sara" and vice versa and have it be said aloud? No reason it shouldn't work...

*Resists... urge... to rant*

Believe me I am resisting the same urge.

Closest I have come to a successful modeling was when I modeled my Inquisitor, Ben Trevelyan, after Obi-Wan Kenobi.

I am thinking the only difference between the two characters, if I go with the name Cassandra instead of Samantha, will be Cass will be more of a front line leader while Samantha will be more of a background support character. 

Guinness or McGregor?

On topic: Ill have to see when it comes to looks. The only thing i know for sure is that im going to make her look slightly below average, like all my characters. It always bothered me that everyone has to be super pretty in fiction. Gotta give the average Joe/Jane some love. 

I also dislike playing perfect PC's so personality wise im going for the "reluctant hero" type. The only reason she signed up for the AI is because of pressure to live up to her fathers background and because she didnt want to leave her brother. As a result she never really thought shed be the Pathfinder. Figured if something happened to dear old dad her brother would take over. When they tell her shes gotta step up and do her job her reaction is gonna be something like this:



In addition shes gonna be somewhat selfish, in that she cares very much about her friends and brother but thats it. Shes masking her apathy about others with humor though, so shes not completely socially inept. ^^

Im doing a similar thing in the new season of Walking Dead and loving it so far. Hoping i can make it work in Andromeda. If at all possible id like for her to have a strained relationship with her dad. Just makes for better RP opportunities imo. Dont know about the companions - have to know a bit more about their personalities to determine anything.


Romance: Gonna go with the flow on that one like always.  Shes pansexual so she really doesnt care about looks or species. Personality is what counts in the end.
