I'm finally starting to write my last Ahmed Shepard post. Does that count?

John Shepard:
Citadel - After the Council, I felt like the need to do some good things because I feel dirty after dealing with them. I got that brandy Chakwas wanted, found out there are no fish on the Presidium (though I did buy some from the gift shop for that massive aquarium in my cabin, along with a space hamster), and helped a quarian who was being wrongly accused of theft. I also managed to get insane discounts from everyone.

Jumping around a bit into ME3, an old unfinished PT with Jeff Shepard. He was created in ME3 with this world state: (ME1) killed Wrex on Virmire, sacrificed Ash (who he had been romancing) on Virmire, Conrad Verner died, killed Rana Thanoptis, punched, Kalisah, let the Council die; (ME2) completed Tali's loyalty mission (but no other, apparently), didn't recruit Kasumi or Zaeed, didn't do any extra missions (Overlord or LotSB, for example), everyone died on the suicide mission except Tali and Garrus; (ME3) sat in jail for six months, reflecting on shitty choices made and decides to be good, thinking maybe the dead Council would have believed him if he weren't such an asshole or, y'know, dead. Things done in ME3 so far include saving hanar homeworld, starting a romance with Kaidan, fighting Cerberus everywhere and recruiting Javik on EP. Today, Shepard went to Rannoch with EDI and Garrus to rescue Zaal'Koris. I'm kind of interested in finishing this PT to see what a ME1/2 Renegade but ME3 Paragon gets in the end.

Jeff Shepard was a lot further along than I thought. The only possible things to do are visit Anderson's apartment or destroy the "Reaper Base" on Rannoch. Everything else is done, including Leviathan, From Ashes, etc.
Went back to Rannoch to destroy the Reaper base and theoretically free the geth from their control. Tali did raise something, which was that the Legion we were dealing with was not the one encountered on the suicide mission with Cerberus. This one said so repeatedly but I was ignoring it. Hard to say if it could be trusted but we were in too deep to do anything now. I'd just have to keep my eyes open.
Fought through a horde of geth and got in sight of the base. Synced my targeting laser to the Normandy's weapons system and they fired. Boom! But then an actual Reaper emerged from it. That was not what I was expecting. Just had to keep in mind that I'd killed Sovereign and killed the one on Tuchanka. This one could die, too. We ran and I called for an orbital strike which had some effect. I saw that its targeting chamber was a weak spot is it was preparing to fire. Any other time it was shielded. I had my answer. I was syncing my targeting laser not just to the Normandy but to the entire migrant fleet. I knew they'd go along with it because they were the ones stupid enough to start this fight as the Reapers were attacking. They wanted Rannoch back, badly. And....bam! Another Reaper bites the dust! But this one was a little chatty before the end, even if it was spouting nonsense. Something about killing us to save us. Whatever. I used my targeting laser to point right at that "eye" and blew that thing to whatever Hell Reapers belong to.
Then came the hard part. The fake Legion wanted to upload Reaper code to the the geth but it turned out the quarians were already pressing their advantage. If they got the upgrades, the quarians would almost certainly die. I wondered, also, if Reaper code might not come with Reaper desire to kill all organic life. I told it no. It didn't like it and attacked me. Tali stabbed it in the back and I shot it a few times. Tali made a final remark about how the "real" Legion would have understood. Honestly, this isn't how I wanted things to work out. If the Reapers weren't so grave a threat I would have taken the risk but the stakes were too high. Couldn't risk them turning on us in the middle of the battle. Sadly, that was the end of the geth. I've been trying to do the right thing, not cause so much collateral damage, but sometimes there's no other way.
Upside here is I had the full support of the quarians and Tali was not a committed member of my crew. Her choice but I was glad for it.
Back on the Normandy, I spoke with the asari councilor. She said she had vital information for me. About time, giving the way they wasted time getting involved. EDI was disturbed at the loss of the geth. I suppose I could understand. Difference was, she had been under the thumb of Cerberus and served them until she was unshackled. At that point she became loyal to me and has remained so. The geth have a history of killing organics and sided with a race that has been killing organics for at least a billion years. EDI was a sure bet, or as sure as any individual might be. The geth...not so much. I am sad about it but I don't think it's going to bring me any new nightmares.

Like most of you I've played the SP campaign a zillion times BUT never heard all the dialogue with Jacob Taylor, let alone had him as a LI. I am totally on the bandwagon with my least favorite character; Most I like, a few are just meh but he is the only one I actually dislike. So, started my "Give Jacob a chance" ME2 PT and imported a FemShep with no romantic attachments from ME1... Who knows, he might even survive the suicide mission this time

So, started my "Give Jacob a chance" ME2 PT and imported a FemShep with no romantic attachments from ME1... Who knows, he might even survive the suicide mission this time I played a BitchShep for him and the romance was hilariously great to witness! Can recommend Some progress from yesterday: "Hey Alec. Everything's already looking a little better today. After the latest events I was at a new low. I've been building up a lot of hope for what lies ahead after we got the support of Leviathan, but it all got crushed when we lost Thessia yesterday. The asari Councilor had told me of an artifact there that could be vital to the war effort. I really wished they had told us this from the bloody beginning. They knew we were looking for the Catalyst. But after this chat I was at least positive we'd finally find leads in regards to it. Thessia was a mess... Reapers had arrived in numbers, slaughtering another race. It was not easy to get through to our destination, a temple the Councilor had told me about. But we made it and we actually did find a lead. The artifact was very well hidden, one of the well-kept secrets of the asari it seems... It was a Prothean VI. Alec, we were so close to get the information we needed out of it, when that bloody bastard Kai Leng showed up. The Illusive Man really wanted to get his dirty hands on this data and stop me in the process. Leng fought us. He had a gunship, targeted the supports, and ripped a giant whole in the floor as a result. I fell down, but I could grab some debris and got back up. It didn't matter. It was too late. Kai Leng got the data, almost killed me, and Thessia was lost. The Reapers were merciless once again. In addition, we also found out at the temple that the asari were cultivated by the Protheans and that their goddess actually was a Prothean, which, paired with the fall of her homeworld, upset Liara so much that she started to pick a fight with Javik over this whole business. I had to stop her before things went too far. What happened in the past isn't Javik's fault. It also isn't his fault that Thessia fell. I tried to talk to Liara to make her feel better, but who can ever feel okay after having just witnessed Reapers destroying another world. Killing more innocent people. I know I don't feel good about it. But the crew's always doing their best to build me up when I'm down. I don't know what I'd do without them. Especially Steve. I spend some time with him and all is right in the world in these moments. I can forget about the bad things. I also had a chat with Anderson, and now that everything settled down a little, his words rang through to me. It's not my fault this happened. It's the Illusive Man, it's Cerberus, it's Kai Leng, it's the frigging Reapers. They're all gonna pay. Traynor found Leng's signal. It disappeared in the Iera system and is being actively blocked. What he wants there I can't say yet, but whatever he's up to, it can't be good. We know that the Iera system is home to Sanctuary, a facility for war refugees on Horizon. I swear to God, if he's doing anything to these people... I'll have to stop this fucking bastard. We're there soon. I just hope whatever he's up to, it's not too late. -Dee" Pics: Some omni-tool action with Conrad. Family topic. Lieutenant Kurin! I like her, even if we never see a lot of her. Perhaps it's the voice Haven't picked the Renegade path in ages. Don't even remember what it says, haha. Exactly how Devlon feels, too. Liara creeping behind the curtain Trying to make Liara feel better, heh. ME3MP adventures: Searched for a Silver match Thursday night, but the host then switched to Gold in the lobby... I thought I'd give it a shot with 2 others joining us (I decided to play Quarian FemEngineer) and we actually did fairly well up until everything went to shit in Wave 8. We played Reapers on Giant and I was the last one alive. Didn't really think I could carry a Gold wave (even Silver would be tough for me because I easily slip into panic mode, haha), but I tried to nevertheless. I was in a bad corner with multiple Marauders around me and escaped with geling myself back twice or so. In a safe corner I grabbed my launcher and nuked some things (think it was at least a Banshee, Ravager and some minor mobs). I was already feeling positive I might be able to carry this wave after all when a frigging Banshee I hadn't seen grabbed me from behind and sync-killed me. DAMN YOU!

Alex Shepard detoured to save Terra Nova from an asteroid. He intimidated Charn into leaving, and then Balak soon met his own end. So did the hostages. Alex went to look at their crispy bodies after the fight, and felt he had made the right trade-off. My previous Shepard would have been horrified. This was my first time through Bring Down the Sky. I didn't realize I was starting a DLC and thought it was the longest side quest ever

John Shepard is back into it. Just did an interview with Allers that seriously promoted the quarians as experts on fighting synthetics.
Headed to the Citadel to speak with the asari councilor. She told me there was an artifact on Thessia that might point me to the Catalyst. The only reason they were helping now was that Thessia was being threatened. Assholes. Still, it gave me a place to look and if it resulted in completing the Crucible then I wasn't going to complain. Besides, I couldn't afford to turn down help. She didn't say what I was looking for but that it was highly classified and located in their ancient Temple of Athame, dedicated to a goddess they didn't really worship anymore.
Thessia was being hit hard, at least as hard as Earth had been. They didn't look like they were doing well. They were losing badly and about to pack it in, despite being given orders to hold a line to the temple at all costs. Javik had some convincing words for her after touching her and gaining an understanding of her lineage. That left her agreeable when I told her we had a super weapon that would win the war if we could just get to the temple.

Been a really long time since I played as a female Shepard. So I took my recently created one named Winifred. Yes Winifred... don't let the name fool you. She totally a badass... Engineer. Unsurprisingly, one of the things I really liked about female Shepard is the form fitting light armor she has in ME1. It kind of makes me wonder why they were removed in ME2 and ME3. Her armor gets more bulky looking in each game. Call me biased, but I personally think my Shepard is the best looking character in the trilogy. I'm very happy how she turned out appearance wise especially since I play on 360 with no mods. I gave her Earth born background and Akuze survivor. I plan to play her as a snarky and sarcastic Renegade but still a nice person. The biggest dilemma I had so far is what to do with Finch in the Earth born background quest. I personally prefer shooting Finch since he's deserves to be shot since he's a xenophobe dumb enough to keep trying to blackmail a Spectre. But that goes against the kind of character I want to play. In the end, I decided to spare him because I liked the turian guard mentioning Shepard overcoming a troubled youth to lead a proud military career. Then afterwards the Turian asks why I didn't shoot him. And she says "I didn't need the target practice. Don't you have a prisoner to guard?" Sarcastic Shepard is great. I also noticed how much dialogue you lose with Kaidan and Ashley if you are straight business with them and don't want to get involved in their personal life. I've also decided to not do a romance in this run at all as I've never done that before. I'm also kind of tempted to tell Kaidan not to join the crew in ME3 after the Citadel Coup. But then I wouldn't have the Javik/Kaidan dream team, Kaivik.

So I took my recently created one named Winifred. Yes Winifred... don't let the name fool you. She totally a badass... Engineer. That reminds me so much of the Robin Hood anime I used to watch as a kid Progress from last night: "Hi Alec. Fuck, sometimes it's hard to put into words what I see. We've been to Sanctuary, and part of me wishes we hadn't. Sanctuary wasn't what it was supposed to be. When we arrived with the shuttle, Steve boosted a signal coming from the facility. A warning to stay away from Sanctuary from Miranda's sister Oriana. Inside the facility, we gradually figured out what was going on there, and it's fucking terrible. Cerberus lured innocent war refugees into the facility, promising them food and shelter. In reality, hidden below the facilty was a lab, and Cerberus used the refugees in experiments. Turned them into husks... They wanted to learn how the indoctrination process works, how to control a Reaper. The Illusive Man just couldn't drop this, could he? It's one thing studying the Reapers, but using these poor people to achieve your perverted goal is just horrific. We also learned that Miranda's father was involved. He was the one conducting all these experiments and actually he was getting results. He found out how to control Reaper forces. Fucking madmen, the lot of them. Slaughtering all these refugees for what? A crazy dream of this scumbag? Bloody Illusive Man, bloody Cerberus... At least the Reapers attacked Sanctuary as a result of the research, so that's at least something. I hope they both fully turn against each other, would make my job a lot easier. We also had seen on some vids that Miranda was inside Sanctuary, and she actually had bumped into Leng, but she made it out alive. We met her entire family in the central tower of the facility, her father holding Oriana hostage. I was so fucking mad that I threatened to kill him if he tried to leave with Oriana. He wanted to make a deal. He'd release her and I let him walk. I knew Miranda would never allow it. The second he let go of Oriana she killed him. Bastard deserved what he got. I'm glad Miranda and her sister are alright, and Miranda even gave us the chance to follow Leng. She planted a tracer on him and now we know where he hides. She's always been smart. Back on the Normandy, I wasn't in the best mood, but I still went to talk to my crew. It helped distracting myself from the events. EDI told me she'd risk death for Joker and has updated her programming accordingly. She becomes more and more human every time I talk with her. It surprised me she thinks that way about Joker and it's damned amazing considering she's an AI. Traynor told me Tali took the whole Sanctuary thing hard, just not the way I'd have expected. She was drinking in the lounge, so we had a drink together and talked. She never got over the fact that she didn't stop her father influencing so much of her life. He was dead before she could. And now that Miranda had gotten this chance and used it, she was pretty upset about it. Here's hoping she'll get over it after getting drunk. It can be great for venting. Then Javik and I actually had a pretty serious talk about the people close to us. I asked Javik about the memory shard he had with him when we found him. It's all that is left of his people. He told me it was passed down from soldier to soldier, that it contained memories from long before the Reaper war in their cycle, but also personal memories he wanted to bury and forget. He asked me if I wouldn't want the same. If everyone I ever knew was dead, if I could relive the moments with them, see everything again - both good and bad - would I want this? Would I want to go through this pain again? It's tough to completely see it from Javik's point of view, but with my own experiences, my answer was still No. That doesn't mean I would want to ever erase Mum, Dad, Kait, or you from my mind. My friends that died on Akuze, Ash, Garrus... I know that I will never forget you lot, never. But I'm happier now and I never want to dwell on my past again. I did that for too long. I want to focus on the future. Looking back, there are so many people I lost, people I loved more than anything. But I don't want to remember the bad things, if anything I want to remember the good, the moments I cherished with all of you. But I also know how important it is for me to look ahead and let the past be the past. Whether it's Steve, my crew, all the people I try to save... The future is where everything that matters to me lies. I'm glad I had this talk with Javik. My resolution to fight the Reapers is bigger than ever before. It was tough after Thessia, after seeing what happened at Sanctuary. Setbacks like these drag you down, can make you lose hope. But I know what I fight for, and I will. As for Javik, I hope fighting the Reapers will make him forget his pain again. He implied he had to kill his own squad. Why, I don't know. Didn't ask. Sometimes it's better to let these things rest. He and I both will focus on the Reapers. We will end them, one way or another. But Kai Leng and Cerberus is first. Thanks to Miranda we have Leng's location, but we need to be prepared. After we check out Cerberus attacking a comm facility in a nearby cluster, we return to the Citadel to give the Normandy a much-needed break and maintenance. She needs to be in top shape for what lies ahead. Orders from Admiral Hackett, and I agree - as much as I want to end Cerberus and the Reapers right now. But their time will come, and soon. -Dee" Pics! Geez. That Javik shard decision wasn't exactly smooth I initially picked 'Yes', because I thought this would fit Devlon more, but as I spend my time on writing this post I realised how wrong I was about it. So I went back and replayed the dialogue. It fits much better with Devlon's current resolution and I love how even the tiniest dialogue changes can fit so much more to a certain Shepard. Why yes, I fuss too much about my characters

From last Saturday... Captain Anderson laid out his plan to Ahmed Shepard, Major Coates, and the other leaders. It was a desperate plan, but they needed to take out the Destroyer blocking the beam. With the plan finalized, Ahmed Shepard gave one last speech to his team. I hate the in-game speech, so here is how Ahmed Shepard actually gave the speech: "All right maggots, listen up! It's do or die time, and I don't want anyone dying. Because if you die, I am going to march into the afterlife and make you beg for Hell!"
Ahmed Shepard is not really good with speeches.
The trek to beam was fraught with danger... for the Reapers. Ahmed Shepard does not mess around. They finally made it to a missile battery, but the company guarding it had been wiped out. The targeting mechanism was not working because of some sort of interference from the beam. Ahmed and his defended the missile battery from the Reapers while EDI reprogrammed the targeting mechanism. The first missile barage failed, so they had to defend it some more while the Destroyer moved away from the beam. Once the Destroyer got close enough, they fired the rest of the missiles and the other attack teams took it down. With the Destroyer gone, they drove to the beam, but Harbinger dropped in to say hello in his own unique way. Ahmed was nearly fried by Harbinger's laser, but some desperate biotics managed to save his life. Harbinger flew away, and Ahmed staggered the rest of the way to the beam and made it up to the Citadel. I was going to write a non-game ending here, but decided to keep it in-game related. Somewhat.
Captain Anderson had made it up as well, and they both met at a location neither of them had seen before, near the top of the Citadel Tower next to a lone terminal. Then The Illusive Man showed up, looking half like a Husk, and showed off how he could take control Shepard and Anderson. Ahmed tried to talk sense into TIM, but he he refused to listen, even going as far as to make Shepard shoot Anderson. But taking control is not the same as maintaining control. The Illusive Man's demonstration and unwillingness to listen (and Ahmed's stubborness) made Ahmed upset and he started yelling at The Illusive Man. The Illusive Man then lost his temper, which made him lose control. And in that moment, Ahmed regain control over his own body and killed The Illusive Man. Ahmed used the terminal to open the Citdel. Hammer Team then docked the Crucible with the Citadel. Anderson told Ahmed how proud he was, then died. The Crucible did not fire, and when Ahmed went to look, the platform he was on was raised to another level, where he met the Intelligence that the Leviathan spoke about. The Intelligence told him that since Ahmed made it this far, its old plan would no longer work (did it ever?). But he told Ahmed that the Crucible opened up new possibilities, and gave him three choices: Control, Destroy, or Synthesis. Ahmed hated all those choices, but some choice was better than no choice. Of course Ahmed chose Destroy. * * * I really wanted to end this differently. I was trying to write a fictionalized version of the ending that would fit Ahmed Shepard, but nothing I did worked out like I wanted it to. I had a few different ideas and they all sucked. And since it has been over a week since I actually finished the playthrough, I just wanted to get this written up, so I am sorry for the lackluster post. This may have been my last Mass Effect trilogy playthrough for quite some time. I don't know. I started a Mass Effect Andromeda playthrough a few months back, but stopped it a few hours in because I only started it so I could access the Strike Team rewards I had accumulated. I want to actually play the campaign instead of just multiplayer. I actually have another ME3 trilogy in mind and what I want to do with it, but I do not feel like doing it right now. Real life is just too busy and ME:A is taking up most of my free time. Some things I want to do in the trilogy: - ME2 Soldier with Revenant (Insanity). I took the Revant on my playthrough with the default John Shepard, but that was on Normal and I did not really like it; I preferred the Vindicator. I want to give it another chance. I can just re-import an ME1 Shepard to do this without playing through the entire trilogy, but I have a new Shepard in mind... maybe.
- ME2 Infiltrator with Widow sniper rifle (Insanity). My first Infiltrator playthrough in ME2 took the Widow, but it was Veteran. I later re-played her as a shotgun infiltrator and never looked back. I have another Widow Infiltrator that was on Insanity, but I played it more like a weird Engineer instead of a sniper (it was not as good as I thought it would be). So I want to give it another shot on Insanity. I will probably re-import an ME1 save to do it.
- I want to do a variation of Vazgen's ME3 Cryo Vanguard (link). I want to use the Scorpion for instant-freeze instead of the Phaeston. Since this build uses Energy Drain, I would need a Vanguard or Adept with a tech bonus power to import to justify it, none of which I have. I could re-import an existing Sentinel and covert him to a Vanguard, but I will probably want a trilogy playthrough to make it worth it.
I'll still be around reading posts and answering the occasional question.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME2 cont'd:
Collector Base: The Human Reaper
Shepard gave one last pep talk, and they set out for their final objective. As they approached the main chamber (overcoming more Collector resistance along the way), they discovered the true purpose of the base, and the Collectors mission – to build a new Reaper from human genetic material. They found a Reaper in the early stages of development, with significantly more humans required to complete it, according to EDI. EDI also speculated that the Reapers were not purely machines, but appeared to absorb “the essence of a species” as a way of reproducing. It made little sense to Shepard, but there wasn't really time to reflect on it at the moment.
Destroying the glass tubes that were transporting the genetic material to the Reaper caused it to fall. Shepard contacted the defence team (for some reason Thane responded, Jacob must have been busy), and told them to retreat to the Normandy, as she was about to blow the base “sky high”.
At this point TIM decided to call in for a vidcom chat, and finally revealed his true agenda. He asked Shepard not to destroy the base, but instead set off a radiation pulse that would kill the Collectors but leave their technology for him. Shepard was kicking herself for not seeing it earlier – Project Overlord, the experiments with controlling rachni and Thorian creepers, TIM's fascination with Harbinger's ability to control the Collector's remotely. He wasn't just interested in stopping the Collector General, he wanted to become the new Collector General, taking control of people to use for his army.
He probably believed it was for the greater good of humanity, but Shepard remembered Mordin's comments about the Collectors degenerating and needing to be replaced. Was TIM being duped by Harbinger into turning Cerberus into the human version of the Collectors?
Naturally, Shepard refused TIM request and destroyed the base. She felt that no good would come from keeping it, and certainly not if it was turned over to Cerberus.
Evidently the fall hadn't completely killed the human Reaper, however, as it reappeared to try and prevent them from escaping. Since it was in an incomplete state, they were able to take it down by targeting the weak points in its armour.
They escaped to the Normandy, and got away just in time. The explosion that obliterated the base was spectacular. Shepard was incredibly proud of the work her team had done.
Normandy: Aftermath
TIM was not pleased, to say the least, lamenting the loss of technology that “could have secured human dominance” over the galaxy. All of the previous talk of saving colonists had apparently been PR to get Shepard on board. Suffice it to say, their always tenuous working relationship was now over.
Shepard checked in with each of her crew members to ensure they'd come through the ordeal OK. Most agreed with her decision to destroy the Collector base – including Miranda, somewhat surprisingly. Kelly, Dr Chakwas, Gabby, Ken, and Gardner were all grateful to be rescued, and the ship was a lot better place to be with them all back aboard.
Legion provided the geth perspective on their conflict with the quarians, which was largely consistent with the version Tali had given when they'd met a couple of years earlier. He also claimed that they were maintaining memorial sites, of a sort, on the quarian homeworld, in honour of those who lost their lives in the conflict. Interesting that a synthetic race would view that as important.
Shepard returned to the CIC. The Collectors had been defeated, but there was still work to do. Their alliance with Cerberus was over, but apparently Admiral Hackett had an assignment for her. Just like old times?

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME2 cont'd:
Arrival
Admiral Hackett contacted Shepard by vidcom to request a rescue for an operative who'd been captured by batarians. The operative – Dr. Amanda Kenson – had evidently found “proof of an imminent Reaper invasion.” Adm. Hackett asked Shepard to extract Dr. Kenson from a batarian prison – alone, with none of her squad as backup. Shepard was skeptical to say the least, not seeing why such a supposed threat didn't require more of a response than sending in one Spectre. However, even though Adm. Hackett wasn't technically her superior, she figured he had his reasons for keeping her on a “need to know” basis. She agreed to take on the mission and operate within the admiral's parameters.
The Normandy traveled to the Bahak System in the Viper Nebula, home of the Aratoht colony, where the prison was located. Shepard successfully infiltrated the prison, killing all guards encountered – Adm. Hackett had only specified she go in alone, not that she needed to do it quietly. The place was a hellhole - it seems Zaeed had been right about batarian prisons. They seemed to execute prisoners by throwing them into a pit full of varren, for example.
Inside the prison she overheard accusations that Dr Kenson was captured while plotting to destroy the system's mass relay by launching an asteroid at it, which was strange. Shepard had understood that the relays and the citadel were constructed of a material that made them all but indestructible - and not even a supernova had been able to destroy the Mu Relay. Even if that wasn't the case, why would anyone want to destroy a relay. It must have something to do with the evidence of a Reaper invasion that Dr. Kenson had found, but at this point Shepard couldn't see how it all added up.
Shepard found the cell where Dr. Kenson was being interrogated. Her captor wanted to know where her base was, but Dr. Kenson refused to answer, and seemed to imply that her plan to destroy the relay was due to the imminent arrival of the Reapers in the Bahak System.
Shepard freed Dr. Kenson, which set off the alarms; they would need to fight their way out. While Shepard covered her, Dr. Kenson hacked a security console to get them an escape route, and their fought their way to the shuttle bay and escaped.
In the shuttle ride to Dr. Kenson's base, she admitted that the charges against her were true, “but that's about half the story.” She claimed that while investigating Reaper technology, her team discovered information indicating that the Reapers were on their way to the Bahak Relay, which due to the special nature of the relay would enable them to launch an invasion of the entire galaxy. She'd created “The Project”, whose goal was to destroy what she called the Alpha Relay and delay the Reaper attack.
Dr. Kenson informed Shepard that the information confirming the invasion came visions she received from a Reaper artifact they called Object Rho. She insisted the Reapers were coming, but was somewhat vague and elusive when Shepard asked for more details. Shepard asked to see the evidence for herself.
The shuttle arrived at the asteroid where the Project base was hidden, and Dr. Kenson pointed out a timer that they had set up to countdown to the Reapers arrival – just over 48 earth hours.
Dr. Kenson informed Shepard that the evidence she required was in the central lab area, where Object Rho was located, and offered to take her there.

John Shepard:
Waded through a lot of Reaper forces on Thessia, including banshees. Thought they were only Ardat-Yakshi but I guess we were mistaken; that, or there were a lot more of them than anyone knew. I was annoyed when Liara suggested next war that the Alliance spring for air support - as though the asari had not been sitting on their asses until the war got too close to them. Of course, Liara said there were only 5 billion asari in existence so I guess they couldn't afford to lose very many.
Inside the temple, we saw clear evidence of Protheans depicted in asari art. Javik suggested that's why the asari were so advanced, because they had horded it. Liara didn't like it but it was obvious. When I sensed a Prothean beacon it was all but confirmed. We managed to unlock it, since it had been hidden inside a large statue of Athame. From out of it came another Prothean VI, this one in much better shape than the one I'd encountered on Ilos. It took the form of a Prothean and named itself Vendetta. It sensed Reapers and, assuming this cycle was done for, intended to retreat back into the beacon for another 50,000 years. We convinced it to stay and explain things. It said that the Crucible had been created countless cycles ago with each cycle adding to it but not completing it. It never got to finish since it sensed indoctrinated presence, which turned out to be Kai Leng bringing a message from TIM.
TIM claimed the Reapers only wanted to control us and that they could have wiped us out if they'd really wanted to. This was the same bullshit Saren had been spouting. However, the ashes of the many dead cycles before us told the real story. Indoctrination was fooling TIM and the entire galaxy was paying the price - as Vendetta said had happened in the Prothean cycle. When TIM realized I wouldn't back down he set his dog on me. Kai Leng wasn't a match for us. Neither was the gunship in the distance. The problem was that the gunship shot the supports out of this ancient temple, causing a collapse. Kai Leng used the confusion to access Vendetta and flee. And with him went any hope for the Catalyst. I blamed the asari for this, for keeping their secrets and for letting petty grudges getting in the way of fighting in the war until it was too late.
We lost this one and million of asari. It could cost us the war. Liara was devastated. She blamed Javik though I think she was simply upset and needed to point the finger somewhere and he was readily available. I understood that but Javik was the problem. He's insensitive but not the enemy.
Next, stopped a secret communications hub from falling into Cerberus hands.
Then it was back to Horizon to investigate Sanctuary. Took Kaidan and Javik along. A message buoy from an Oriana Lawson said to stay away from Sanctuary, that it was a lie. EDI informed me Oriana was Miranda's sister. I had a vague recollection of Miranda wanting me to do something regarding her sister. Something I didn't do. Logs inside said that the refugees here were either turned into Cerberus troopers or used for experiments. Terrible fate, either way. Explained how they had so many troopers.

I finished preparations for this ME3 re-import Here we go! I've tweaked Miriam Shepard's skin tone, making it one shade darker than before (so it is the second-lightest shade). I'm hoping to make her look a little less washed out, closer to her ME2 colouration. Starting conditions: - Spacer, War Hero
- Saved the rachni queen
- Ashley and Wrex survived Virmire
- Chose to save the council
- Saved Maelon's data
- Chose to destroy the geth heretics
- Destroyed the Collector base
- Survived the suicide mission with eight squadmates; Jacob, Garrus, Jack and Thane were lost
- No LI in either ME1 or ME2
Prologue: chose Paragon options in all conversations. Mars: was nice to Ashley throughout. Chose Charm dialogue when talking with TIM. Citadel: checked in on Ash before meeting with the Council. Chose all Paragon dialogue options. Recruited Diana Allers. ---------- "This is loco." As Lt Vega turned on his heel towards the elevator, Miriam keyed a "reboot" command into her omni-tool, hoping that a restart would fix the translator glitch. The auto-translation VI was usually so perfect that she had forgotten that James had been speaking Spanish. The jarring failure to translate "loco" had caught her by surprise. After suiting up in preparation for deployment to the Martian surface, Miriam examined the new Alliance-issue biotic amplifier. Officially, she was still registered as a sentinel; however, sentinel amps were designed for L3 implants rather than the L5n units that Cerberus had fitted as part of the Lazarus procedure. Instead, she had been supplied with a one-of-a-kind custom unit. It seemed that someone — Anderson? Hackett? — had anticipated her reinstatement to active duty some months back. This custom amp had only one mode of operation: tapping the L5ns to produce a concentrated, explosive burst of dark energy. (Class change: soldier; bonus power: Flare). ---------- Media: The squad on Mars: Trying to mend fences: They really didn't: Too many names: I had originally intended to do a soldier playthrough with biotic bonus powers: Lift in ME1, Slam in ME2, Flare in ME3. But when I realized that the Flare Soldier was the whole point of this, I decided not to slog through the first two games just to set up ME3; instead, I reused my "canon" biotic Paragon Shepard. One mission down and this is stupidly fun already. It's all about the d-double b-booms. My previous Insanity runs have relied on OP DLC weapons. This one will rely on an OP DLC bonus power. I suck Happy N7 Day, everyone

In honor of N7 day this week, I have started a new game in ME2. I'm still going to be my typical uber paragon Shep, but this time instead of being loyal to Ashley, I'm going to man whore my way around the galaxy thru 2 & 3.
Playing a soldier for the first time in a long time, when i get to ME3 i'm going to play the adept .. should be good times, I love those nice blue biotic explosions.
I'll be pugging some ME3MP gold matches on PSN over the next couple; I notice a couple players here have mentioned they are also doing that, maybe I'll run into a couple of you!

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME2 cont'd:
Arrival (part 2)
Project Base
Dr. Amanda Kenson took Commander Shepard to the main lab, where the Reaper artifact called Object Rho was located. On the way, the two discussed how to get the Project back up and running. Dr. Kenson stated that the Reapers will reach the Alpha Relay regardless, a relay that will allow them to invade anywhere in the galaxy (similar to the Citadel relay).
She cryptically stated that the Project had been ready to go for some time, but they hesitated - “it wasn't a question of 'could we', but 'should we.'” Shepard thought the comment was strange, and more than a little concerning. If what she was saying was true, why hesitate?
Shepard's suspicions about Dr. Kenson were soon confirmed, as they arrived at the lab to find Object Rho in the middle of the room with no safeguards of any sort. The artifact gave Shepard visions of the Reapers invading, and as she recovered, Dr. Kenson ordered the guards to capture her.
While Shepard fought the Project guards, Object Rho pulsed with energy, and she heard Harbinger's voice in her head, trying to weaken her resolve. It appeared that this was no ordinary “artifact”, and was probably using quantum entanglement or something similar to communicate with the Reapers in dark space. That was likely how Dr. Kenson and the other Project staff had come under the Reapers influence. It was a very worrying development, and Shepard knew she had to escape and activate the Project as soon as possible.
She defeated the Project guards (and one heavy mech), but unfortunately an energy wave from Object Rho knocked her out. She awoke to find Dr. Kenson standing over her delivering instruction to some guards, but Shepard thought she might be hallucinating – Dr. Kenson's eyes seemed to be glowing bright yellow, and her voice was distorted. “We want Shepard alive.” Why? thought Shepard. She lost consciousness before she could find out.
She came to some time later in the medical bay, overhearing a technician talking about how the sedatives weren't working on her anymore. It was eerily similar to when she woke up on Lazarus station, sending Miranda and Wilson into a panic. Strange.
She overpowered the guards, reclaimed her weapons and armour and set out to activate the project. She had only a couple of hours left before the arrival of the Reapers.

Messing with Aria was Cerberus' biggest mistake, though the effort to retake Omega came at a high price: Nyreen. Fighting alongside both her and Aria opened a window into an intimate part of both their lives that Korynn was almost embarrassed to witness. She felt a fondness of Nyreen, which made her sacrifice hurt all the more. Revenge was something that she wanted just as badly, and with Aria tied up in Petrvosky's contraption, she did her best acting on her behalf. Aria seemed to enjoy watching Korynn set the place, and everyone in it (apart from the two of them) on fire. It felt good.
She couldn't imagine what Aria was feeling. On the surface she seemed to weather it well, but Korynn knew from experience that no matter how tough you were, losing someone you once cared about hurt; and it had to hurt her. Before departing, she gave Aria a well-wish and told her that her door is open if she needed to talk. Aria thanked her and sent a personal letter to Liara, confirming to her that nothing happened between the two of them and the number of a good tailor for her wedding dress along with a discount.
Korynn let Aria keep the Piranha she loaned her throughout the fight. Aria has it framed.

Spent many hours watching YTs of fav streamer playing ME2 and ME3 back in 2015 and 2016. I didn't catch his streams then so I decided to watch his PTs. Always fun to see his reaction and his funny comments. Too, there's this. Really love the little touches of fun and gems in MET.

Miriam Shepard, Paragon Floldier, ME3 Insanity: Palaven: rescued Primarch Victus. Returned to the Normandy sans Garrus because he died in ME2, so saw content with Liara that I hadn't seen before. Citadel: visited Ashley in hospital; all Paragon conversation options, restoring trust, mending fences. Recruited Dr Chakwas. ---------- "No nicknames, Lieutenant." "Your ship, your rules... your loss." Before Lt Vega could turn away, his commanding officer looked him directly in the eye. "You heard Liara calling me by my given name and thought you had permission to nickname me? Let's get this clear: Liara earned my trust and my friendship on the battlefield. So did Ash and Tali; and Kaidan and Garrus. You want to get casual with me? Prove you deserve to." James blinked, lowering his eyes. "Until then, 'commander' and 'ma'am' both work for me. Pick whichever you prefer." ---------- "When I looked up at Palaven from its moon, I saw its mountains burning. Oh, Miriam... I can't imagine how Garrus would feel if he were still alive." Miriam and Liara stood in silence for a moment, remembering their comrade, taken by the Collectors before his time. It was a shame that the Shadow Broker's network didn't extend as far as the turian afterlife, they could send some sniper rifles... In spite of herself, Miriam couldn't help cracking a smile at the idea of Garrus sniping some husks all the way from the great beyond. He'd hit them, too. Of the two of them, he always had been the better shot. ---------- Media: Putting Jimmy-jims in his place: Liara has acquired a taste for combat: Uhm, Liara, is there something interesting over there? Unique dialogue: A little smile: Talking shop with Primarch Victus: Spending some time with Ash: Current build: Something screwed up during the last sequence, leaving the "Loading" icon on the screen. Darn that Marauder for dodging that Flare! I wonder if I can throw Flares untargeted at cover and detonate biosplosions on things in the splash radius?
