Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Perseus Veil: Rannoch - Reaper Base
Shepard, Tali, and Liara went with Legion to infiltrate the geth base on Rannoch. They would need to use a syncing laser to pinpoint the source of the Reaper signal, so that the quarian fleet could destroy it with an air strike.
Tali took a second to admire the view on Rannoch, and scope out a location for a new house once the war was over. It felt like they were close to finishing it.
They fought their way into the base, and found the source of the signal. Shepard used the syncing laser to point out the target and the Normandy swooped in with an air strike. Unfortunately, the source of the signal turned out to be an actual Reaper Destroyer, which emerged unscathed from lower reaches of the base and began to chase after them.
Legion had acquired a vehicle for them to use to escape while the fleet bombed the Reaper from orbit. They identified the firing chamber as the weak point, but the fleet couldn't get enough precision in their shots to hit it.
Legion proposed attempting to escape, but Shepard had decided that enough was enough. She stood on a cliff, essentially face to face with the Destroyer, and attempted to use the targeting laser to pinpoint the firing chamber for the heavy fleet's gunners. It took a few shots, and all the while she had to dodge the Destroyer's main gun, but the bombardment finally found the target the Reaper went down under focus fire from the quarian fleet.
As the Reaper lay dying, it attempted to intimidate Shepard with the usual “you resist but you will fail” speech. Shepard informed it that all of it's Reaper buddies would meet the same fate as Sovereign.
With the geth free of Reaper control , Legion claimed that the upgrades could be uploaded to all geth, making them as smart as they were when under Reaper control, but with free will. Tali objected, as the quarians had begun attacking the now defenceless geth, and would be destroyed by the geth counterattack if the upload was completed.
Despite the risks, Shepard wanted to give the geth a chance. Shepard told Legion to upload the code, and Tali to call off the quarian fleet. It was tense, but eventually the quarian fleet agreed to stand down. The Morning War was finally over.
There was one more casualty, unfortunately. Legion didn't survive the upload process, but the geth and the quarians were now at peace, and the geth were offering to help the quarians resettle Rannoch. Both sides agreed to join the Reaper War effort.
While Admiral Raan – whose ship had crashed nearby – began coordinating the clean up with the geth, Shepard and Tali took a quiet moment to reflect. Tali volunteered to rejoin the Normandy, determined to help rid the galaxy of the Reapers before they came for Rannoch. She took off her helmt so she could take in a brief view of her homeworld through her own eyes, then the two friends returned to the Normandy to get ready for the next battle.

Miriam Shepard, Paragon Floldier, ME3 Insanity: Far Rim: met with the quarian admirals, including the newly-promoted Tali'Zorah. Perseus Veil: boarded the geth dreadnought with Tali and Javik. Shut down the Reaper control signal, rescued Legion, and yelled at Admiral Gerrel without resorting to violence. ---------- "Shepard, your last conversation with Javik concerned me," said EDI. "His suspicions about you?" asked Miriam. "Ignore him, you know he can't do you any harm. Besides, he's not in command here." "Even so," said EDI, "I have communicated a mutual defence protocol to Legion, should it become necessary. Individually, our bodies are many times stronger than any organic, even one at peak physical fitness. Combined, the two of us would have little difficulty in throwing a fully-grown Prothean out the airlock." Miriam blinked, caught off-guard. "Uhm... that was a joke?" EDI broke eye-contact and turned her head away. "Perhaps." ---------- Media:

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Normandy
Joker congratulated Shepard for “ending a war by yelling” on Rannoch. EDI was appreciative that Shepard gave a synthetic race a chance, and noted that Legion had become a fully actualized individual right before his death.
Admiral Raan emailed to update Shepard on the status of the quarian and geth fleets, and Admiral Xen's work on the Crucible. Diana Allers asked for an interview regarding the resolution of the geth-quarian war.
In Engineering, Tali described how she'd gotten word back from Rannoch about how the geth were helping the quarians resettle. She thanked Shepard for helping resolve the conflict.
Citadel
Shepard delivered various artifacts and resources to various people on the Citadel who were looking for them.
Garrus invited Shepard to go target shooting at a secret spot on the Citadel. After an intense battle, Garrus was awarded the prestigious title King of the Bottle Shooters.
At Ashley's request, Shepard joined her and her sister Sarah at a small memorial for Sarah's husband.
James had decided to join the N7 program, and was “making it official” by getting a new tattoo. To each his own, Shepard thought.
Shepard met with Tactus, the spokesman for the refugees that Dr. Chakwas had requested Shepard talk to. It took some convincing, but Shep was able to convince him to trade his military grade medical supplies for some surplus supplies Chakwas had.
An elcor ambassador requested Shepard's assistance to try rescue some soldiers trapped on Dekunna. Shep promised to help as soon as she could.
Shepard spoke to Miranda by vidcom. She warned her that Kai Leng was still on the loose, and Miranda promised to be on her guard. She revealed that her father was involved in something with Cerberus, and was also responsible for the disappearance of Oriana. Miranda wasn't prepared to move against him yet – she had to deal with Cerberus assassins that were after her first – but promised to keep Shepard in the loop.
At the request of Primarch Victus, Shepard investigated the volus ambassador, Din Korlack. Eventually she learned that Korlack had gotten mixed up with Cerberus somehow, and when as a result some mercs came after him and took him hostage. One of the bounty hunters turned out to be Zaeed Masani. Once Zaeed realized Shepard was investigating, he took out the other bounty hunters so he and Shep could question Korlack. The volus gave them intel on a turian colony that Cerberus was planning to attack, as well as ships from the volus bombing fleet for the war effort.
Ashley was relaxing for a bit on the Presidium, so Shep joined her for a chat. “Nice to get away from the war for a while.”
Liara was also taking in the view on the Presidium, and described how the scenery it reminded her of her childhood and her mother.
Tali was on the Presidium as well, near the spot where she had been shot by Saren's assassins all three years earlier. They reminisced a bit about those days, and how much things had changed.
Shep then met up with Jack in Purgatory. Despite her complaining about duty rosters and other tedious tasks, it was clear that Jack and her students were doing well (considering the state of the galaxy and all), and that Jack was more or less happy, possibly for the first time ever.

Was it any good? I have a Hulu subscription, so maybe I’ll check it out. Eh. It was overacted, IMO. Also, it featured an asari who was a Prothean archaeologist that was NOT Liara (though she also put in an appearance). I found that odd. There was also a minor N7-related divergence in the movie versus ME3. It showed us the all-human council at the end, proving Vega a liar when he said he'd never been to the Presidium before. It had some good parts; the drop ships maneuvering was fantastic, I always hated the plodding things in the game's cutscenes and Vega's Virmire/Suicide Mission moment at the climax was Mass Effect gold.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Tuchanka – Rescue Lt. Victus and the Turian Platoon
Primarch Victus had asked Shepard to assist with a super-secret mission the Turians were running on Tuchanka. Contact had been lost with a platoon of soldiers, led by Lt. Tarquin Victus, the Primarch's son.
Shepard, Liara, and Tali took a shuttle down to the surface to investigate. They found survivors of the crash battling Reaper forces, and assisted where they could. They eventually made it to the site of Lt. Victus and the rest of the surviving members of the Ninth Platoon.
They found the turians at each others throats. The troops blamed Lt. Victus for the poor decisions that led to the crash. The lieutenant considered the mission a failure and wanted to abandon it. Shepard convinced him that the mission had to continue, or his people's sacrifice would be in vain, and offered the assistance of the Normandy.
Lt. Victus revealed the nature of their mission. Cerberus had discovered a large explosive device buried in the Kelphic valley, planted centuries ago following the Krogan Rebellions by the turians as a “safeguard” in case the krogan became aggressive again. Cerberus was working to detonate it, potentially killing tens of thousands of krogan, and destroying the krogan – turian alliance in the process.
Shepard and her team (Liara, Tali) returned to the surface and fought their way through the Cerberus troops guarding the bomb site. When they noticed Cerberus starting to withdraw, they knew time was short – they were getting ready to detonate the device.
They met up with the Ninth Platoon at the bomb site. Lt. Victus began working on deactivating the explosive while Shepard and friends defended him from the Cerberus counter-attack. Lt. Victus ended up having to climb up onto the bomb and deactivate it manually. He succeeded, and the bomb was disarmed, but he fell to his death in the process.
His sacrifice saved the krogan and prevented war between them and the turians. Wrex was reportedly angry, but according to Admiral Hackett the actions of the Primarch's son and the rest of the Ninth Platoon were enough to keep the peace.

Normandy
Shepard checked in with the crew after the mission with the Turian Ninth Platoon on Tuchanka. Ashley and Tali were reminded of Kaidan's sacrifice on Virmire – Shepard was glad the two had become friends and were helping each other deal with things like that.
Dr. Chakwas wanted to do the now annual ritual of sharing a drink of Serrice Ice Brandy together. Shepard wasn't much of a drinker, but she knew how much the doctor appreciated the talk they had last time. They toasted their friendship.
Horsehead Nebula: Noveria - Cerberus Fighter Base
Admiral Hackett requested Shepard's assistance to secure a Cerberus fighter base on Noveria that was causing problems for the Alliance. Shepard, Liara and Tali went in and defeated the Cerberus troops guarding the facility and disabled the air defences. This enabled Admiral Hackett was able to send in people to commandeer the fighters and guard against any future Cerberus counter-attack.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Exodus Cluster: Eden Prime - Recover Prothean “Artifact”
Intel had been received from Alliance Command that the Eden Prime colony had been attacked by Cerberus. Evidently a “major Prothean artifact” had been discovered, and Cerberus was after it. The nature of the artifact was unknown, but the Alliance wanted to stop Cerberus from getting their hands on it.
In the shuttle ride down the colony, Shepard, Liara, and Tali reminisced about the last time Eden Prime had been attacked, by Saren and his geth heretic allies, after the discovery of a Prothean Beacon. It had kicked off their campaign against Sovereign, and brought them all together.
They landed near the dig site, finding the immediate area deserted. As they searched the nearby buildings for survivors, they stumbled upon logs left by Cerberus that could be valuable to the Eden Prime resistance movement fighting to kick Cerberus out of the colony. Liara promised to get it to them user her Shadow Broker resources.
They arrived at the dig site, and discovered that the “artifact” was actually a stasis pod with a living prothean inside. Cerberus had been unable to open the pod, and had damaged it in the attempt. They needed to find information on how to open the pod safely without killing the prothean inside.
They searched the colony, and naturally Cerberus deployed forces to try and stop them. They found labs with information terminals that Shepard could access thanks to the Prothean Cipher given to her by Shiala. Shepard saw images of the Prothean war with the Reapers, including plans to hide hundreds of thousands of soldiers in stasis, so that the empire could be rebuilt once the Reapers left. Most of the pods were damaged in the fighting – the one Cerberus had found seemed to be the only one that had survived these tens of thousands of years.
She also obtained the information needed to deactivate the status pod safely, as well as more intel to help the resistance. They returned to the dig site and deactivated the status pod.
While the pod finished processing the deactivation signal, they eliminated the remaining Cerberus forces in the area that had tried to stop them. They were finally able to open the pod. The prothean had indeed survived, and as he staggered out of the pod he was understandably shocked at what he saw. As Shepard grabbed his shoulder to try and steady him, her mind was flooded with images of the prothean's last few moments before entering the pod. Evidently technology that existed in things like the prothean beacons – the ability to transmit memories directly to the brain of others - mimic abilities that were inherent in prothean physiology.
Once the prothean – Commander Javik - had calmed down, they tried to answer his questions and update him on the state of the galaxy. He agreed to return with them to the Normandy, and that “we will see” about joining the fight against the Reapers.
Normandy
Admiral Hackett asked Shepard to try and get Javik's help constructing the Crucible. Shepard and Liara met with their new guest to see what they could learn. Unfortunately, Javik was a soldier who knew little about the Crucible or the Catalyst. He couldn't help with the project, but he pledged to help destroy the Reapers - “I have no other reason to exist.”
Shepard and Liara asked about the prothean's war with the Reapers, prothean history and culture, their sensory ability, the Crucible, and his mission. Javik was not exactly the friendliest, but Shepard hoped he would prove to be a valuable ally.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Citadel
Zaeed was hanging out in the emergency shelter areas, and promised to try and recruit some of his old colleagues for the war effort. He had a low opinion of current Blue Suns leader Darner Vosque – somehow Shepard wasn't surprised – and told a story of an old mission where Vosque screwed up. Shep missed Zaeed's stories.
She checked in on Kelly, then met up with Javik, who was taking in the view of the Presidium from the lobby in the embassy. He described how the Citadel was like a myth or legend in his time – it had already been captured by the Reapers before he was born.
Others overheard their conversation, and deduced that Javik was a Prothean. After a little prompting from Shepard, Javik gave the people an inspiring talk to lift their spirits and motivate them to keep fighting.
Miranda requested a meeting, so Shepard went to one of the apartments on the Presidium. Miranda requested access to Alliance resources, but didn't want to reveal any more details. Shep didn't like the secrecy, but had come to trust Miranda enough to want to help. She was more worried about Miranda's safety than concerned about her motives.
Miranda also wanted to apologize to Shepard for her actions during “Project Lazarus”, the effort to bring Shepard back following the Collector attack on the SR1. She had wanted to implant Shepard with a control chip, but TIM had overruled her. Now, with her father attempting to control every aspect of hers and Oriana's life, she was feeling guilty about wanting to take away Shepard's freedom back then. Shepard appreciated the thought, but had left it behind her long ago. After everything they'd gone through, Shep wasn't about to hold grudges of things that were said and done back when they were strangers.
Considering that the soldiers currently under Cerberus basically husks, however, Shepard was glad that on that particular occasion, The Illusive Man had gotten his way instead of Miri.

I am nearing the end of my female Engineer run on insanity. Engineer was a lot more fun than infiltrator. I think there are going to be a lot of casualties on this run. I've already done 3 loyalty missions since the crew got abducted. I forget how many before they all die minus Chakwas. But I think I am going to not do Kasumi's because she contributes next to nothing to the story and I feel more attached to her as broshep anyway. I think Garrus might bite the dust for the first time ever for me in ME2.
I plan to actually replay ME2 on insanity again as a Vanguard (hopefully the bugs won't get me killed too much) while romancing Ashley too.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Nimbus Cluster: Lesuss - Ardat-Yakshi Monastery
At the request of the Asari High Command, the Normandy travelled to Lesuss in the Nimbus Cluster, to investigate reports of trouble at the Ardat-Yakshi monastery located there.
Liara and Tali accompanied Shepard on the mission. During the shuttle ride down to the colony, Liara filled them in on the situation. The High Command received a distress signal from the monastery, and commandos sent in to investigate hadn't reported back hadn't been heard from since.
A shuttle on the monastery's landing pad suggested that someone else had arrived after the commandos had been sent in. The landing party investigated the compound, finding only dead commandos and Reaper forces. They also heard horrifying screams emanating from somewhere further inside the complex. Ominous and unsettling.
They soon the owner of the shuttle they'd seen earlier – another former crew-member of the SR2, Justicar Samara. She'd come searching for her daughters, but found that the Reapers had already attacked by the time she arrived. Shepard offered to help the search.
As they looked around, the found out the source of those terrible screams – corrupted asari known as Banshees. They were some of the toughest Reaper enemies they'd encountered, which wasn't surprising given the biotic talents of the asari, especially when combined with the power given by the Ardat-Yakshi disease. They caught up with Samara again, who'd found her youngest daughter, Falere. Falere revealed that her sister Rila had been taken by the Reaper forces to the Great Hall, and were going to turn her into a banshee like the others.
Falere became upset when she heard about the commandos plan to destroy the monastery, and ran off on her own towards the Great Hall. Samara chased after her, and Shepard and company headed that way as well, stopping to deal with the more Reaper forces along the way.
They caught up with Samara, Falere, and Rila in the Great Hall. The commandos had already set up bombs to destroy the monastery. Unfortunately, Rila had already begun to transform into one of the Reaper creatures – her eyes went all black like Morinth's had when she tried to dominate Shepard's mind. There was no one else left, so Shepard decided to destroy the complex to kill the remaining banshees.
Rila, knowing it was too late for her, sacrificed herself to lure the remaining Reaper forces into the Great Hall, and set off the bomb to destroy them while everyone else escaped.
Shepard thought it had all been resolved, however Samara revealed that under the Justicar Code an Ardat-Yakshi “cannot live outside a monastery that no longer exists”. She concluded that the only way to save Falere was to kill herself. Shepard stopped her, and thankfully Falere had the wisdom to come up with a better solution – she would remain in seclusion on Lesuss, living the same life she had as a member of the monastery. “I could have left any time. I don't need a building to honour my own code.”
Samara pledged to return after the war to “visit, as a Justicar should.” Shepard suggested Samara might want to stay with Falere, but Samara's sense of duty would not allow such selfishness while the Reapers threatened the galaxy. She joined the war effort, as did a second team of asari commandos that Councillor Tevos had planned to sent to the monastery, that were now free to join Admiral Hackett's forces.

Went to Horizon, got a particle rifle, saved half the colony and had an unsatisfying encounter with Kaidan.
Did a lot of upgrading of the SR-2, plus personal stuff for Mordin, Jack and Grunt.
Headed to Ilium. Got intel from Liara on Thane and Samara. Headed to Dantius Towers to find Thane. Game crashed just after rescuing first group of salarians locked in a closet.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Minos Wasteland: Gellix - Ex-Cerberus Scientists
Specialist Traynor had uncovered intel that suggested a group of scientists that defected from Cerberus were in hiding on Gellix. Shepard, Liara, and Tali took a shuttle to investigate.
They found the research base where the scientists were hiding, but it was already under attack by Cerberus troops. Jacob Taylor was leading the defence of the front gate, and was wounded in the fighting. The Commander and her team drove off the attackers and helped get Jacob back inside to safety.
Once inside, they met Dr. Brynn Cole, who revealed that her team had left Cerberus after reaching some disturbing conclusions about the nature of the research they had been doing for The Illusive Man - “using information from the Collector Base to work on the different components of a larger tech. After someone completed their component, they disappeared.” Jacob had ended up with them after quitting Cerberus himself, and was helping to keep them safe. Cerberus had found them, however. They needed to hold off the enemy long enough to escape, so Shepard naturally offered to assist.
While preparing to evacuate, Shepard met some of the other scientists there, including Dr. Gavin Archer, formerly of Project Overlord. He'd heard about the attack on Grissom Academy, and was relieved when Shepard informed him that his brother David was safe.
Shepard checked on Jacob, and confirmed that his injuries weren't serious. They made plans on how to fix the AA guns so that the evacuation could go ahead without being shot down by Cerberus ships.
Brynn gave Shepard more info on the project the scientists had been working on before they left Cerberus, which seemed to confirm Shepard's suspicions about TIM looking for ways to duplicate the Reapers method of controlling people. Looking back, much of what Cerberus had done over the years seemed to be along these lines – experiments to attempt to control the rachni, Thorian creepers, the geth, etc. Once again, Shepard was kicking herself for the role she played in helping TIM get access to Collector technology.
Shepard went to see Jacob as his wounds were getting treated, and he talked about how he ended up helping out the scientists, and revealed that he and Brynn were together. He wanted to try and build a life with her, even in the midst of all this chaos. Shepard, Liara, and Tali then went out and repaired the stations anti-aircraft guns. Cerberus tried to stop them, of course, but it was nothing they couldn't handle.
They got everything ready, and the scientists and their families were successfully evacuated, despite Cerberus' efforts to stop them. Dr. Cole agreed to join the Crucible team, and Jacob became an operative with Admiral Hackett's forces.

Miriam Shepard, Paragon Floldier, ME3 Insanity: Rannoch: - with Tali and Liara: rescued Admiral Koris who had been stranded on the planet's surface after being shot down;
- with Tali, James and Legion: cleared Reaper infection from a geth server, liberating geth programs and Prime units from Reaper control, and deactivating fighter aircraft that had been threatening quarian liveships.
---------- "My people have been in exile for centuries. To be standing here in the land of my ancestors..." Tali's voice was shaky. She paused. "I'm sorry, I just need a moment." "Sure," said Miriam. "We'll get moving. Catch us up when you're ready." "Actually, Miriam, would you stay?" asked Tali. Miriam glanced across at Liara, who nodded her acknowledgement and scouted on ahead. Miriam waited for Tali to compose herself, standing at a respectful distance. "Okay, let's go," said Tali after a minute or so, her voice steady. "Are you alright?" asked Miriam, patting her friend's shoulder. "Yes, thank you," said Tali, a small smile in her voice. "Damned helmet, though." Miriam understood, remembering the Alarei. Because of her hermetically-sealed suit and helmet, Tali was unable to dry her eyes. ---------- Media: Why does this option earn Renegade points? It's completely true! Miriam and her two favourites: Convincing Koris to let himself be rescued: Indeed they don't, unless I've seriously messed something up: He doesn't know it, but he's agreeing with the Reapers: No, I think we've established that you're the tool: And if you don't leave her alone, you might want to stay away from the airlocks: It's worse: we romanticized them because of the tech that the Reapers left behind: Tali looks around: Trippy: Nope, wasn't wearing that uniform: Can't Flare the Reaper code fragments. Wait, how can Flare even work in here? Teasing drunk!Ashley: If you really don't care, why even mention it? Three translator glitches in one sentence? Best get Tali to take a look at it: I omitted a couple of derpy sections from this video; but aside from my own screw-ups, this mission was a total demolition. Heretic indoctrinated bosh'tet toasters never knew what hit them.

Can you recruit Thane without talking to Liara? That would be nice....

As far as I know, Liara is the only one that can tell you that Seryna has information on Thane's location. I believe if you try and talk to Seryna beforehand, she'll just say something about being busy and not having time to talk. If you've already done Shadow Broker and Liara is at the Broker base, the terminal in her office should have the info needed to recruit Thane and/or Samara (I've never done Shadow Broker before recruiting them, though, so I've never seen it myself).

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Normandy
Shep went to check in on Javik, who complained some of the crew always trying to be his friend (“that is not my purpose here”), then talked some more about the Protheans sensory abilities, as well as their philosophies on evolution and society (survival of the fittest, basically).
Citadel
Jacob was at Huerta Memorial to pick up some medical supplies. He filled Shep in on what he and Brynn were doing on the Crucible project, and revealed that he and Brynn were expecting a child together. Shep was glad he was getting a chance to have a family of his own, she knew he how determined he was to be a better man than his own father.
Shep also delivered an antidote she'd found to a doctor, which helped save a turian general who'd been poisoned.
Samara had requested a meeting with Shepard, and was waiting in the Embassy. They had a good talk, and Shepard was they had a chance to meet in person before Samara headed into battle.
On the presidium, Shep delivered the sad news to an asari whose bondmate had been one of the commandos killed at the Ardat-Yakshi monastery.

Today...
- Recruited Thane. Prior crash didn't set me back any further than an elevator ride that put me right in front of that merc you get to question. This mission always brings out the Renegade in even my most Paragon of Shepards. Guy got shoved out the window to his death. Also let Ms. Dantius know that while she wasn't my target I was in no way interested in stopping the actual assassin.
- Guy who willingly works for terrorist organization (Jacob) has concerns about an assassin. Bewildering.
- Recruited Samara.
- Did Miranda's loyalty mission.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Citadel
Aria T'Loak requested a meeting with Commander Shepard to discuss retaking Omega from Cerberus. Aria made her case by highlighting how Cerberus' control of the station hurt the war effort, but Shepard needed little convincing. It was a clear case of “the enemy of my enemy is a friend”, so was therefore eager to assist. She felt Aria could be trusted to a point, she just hoped the asari kept the theatrics and posturing to a minimum.
Aria gave Shepard some background info on General Oleg Petrovsky, the leader of the Cerberus forces on Omega. She also promised to contribute eezo and mercs to the war effort if Shepard helped, but insisted the Normandy and “the company you keep” stay behind. Shepard grudgingly agreed, and made arrangements to rendezvous with Aria's fleet.
Omega - Invasion
Aria's invasion plan involved using a stolen Cerberus cruiser to infiltrate the Bahak system and cripple the ships defending the station, then launch the invasion of the station itself. The first part went fairly well; the Cerberus fleet was fooled by Aria's ruse and their command ship was disabled. However, Petrovsky had beefed up Omega's defence cannons, and Aria's fleet took a bit of a beating. Aria and Shepard had to use escape pods to get on board the station.
Aria had requested Shep's presence specifically for the ground war phase of the invasion, and agreed to follow the commander's lead. They fought their way to the defence system controls, so they could disable them and allow the rest of Aria's transports to land.
It was only after they went over the next stage of Aria's plan – to meet up with her forces at a secret command centre on D Deck - that they realized Petrovsky had spy cameras in the defence system control room. Oleg knew where they were headed next, which could complicate things. No one said it would be easy...
To be continued...

Miriam Shepard, Paragon Floldier, ME3 Insanity: Rannoch: with Tali, Javik and Legion, liberated Rannoch from Reaper-controlled geth forces. Destroyed a Reaper the fun way. After a tense standoff, convinced Admiral Gerrel to stand the Heavy Fleet down, permitting Legion to safely upgrade the geth to full intelligence. Welcomed Tali'Zorah back to the Normandy as a full-time member of the crew. Normandy: gave an interview to Diana Allers about the geth-quarian armistice. Spoke in favour of liberated geth joining the galactic war against the Reapers. ---------- From: LCpl Mel'Kayviem vas Morra <kayviem.mel#morra!migrant-fleet!extranet> To: Adm Tali'Zorah vas Normandy <zorah.tali#normandy!alliance!extranet> Subject: Geth allies Hey, Sorry that I haven't written since my secondment to N7 SpecOps, it's been insane on the front lines. I've barely had any free time to hack a secure connection to the Morra's servers so I can email without the Alliance censors redacting every other word. (Don't worry, they can't trace this. The tech "experts" around here think their firewall is secure. It really isn't). I'm getting along well with my platoon. The asari are really cool; the krogan are crazy but super fun. Oh, and Lin's here too. Quite what possessed those Alliance bosh'tets to assign a degree-educated engineer to the front lines is a mystery to me; but if my sister really must fight, I'm glad that I can watch her back. My sergeant is a turian, he's a bit of a pain in the neck but I can handle him. You'd like him actually, he's a total Fleet and Flotilla fanboy, I've caught him singing the songs a few times when he thought no-one was around. (Okay, so I shouldn't have been cloaked, but who's going to stop me?) A few days ago, we were deployed to Tuchanka of all places to deal with a pocket of Reaper-controlled geth. We had two liberated geth on the squad, a pyro trooper and a juggernaut. Fighting alongside them is bizarre. I've hated them my whole life; when we were kids, I think I was the one in our group who hated them the most. And now we're allies. And they didn't once protest at fighting against their own kind. Part of me wondered whether they'd switch sides, but they did the job just like any of us. And they speak Khelish! When they talk to me, they speak in the Rayya dialect! The language of our childhood, coming out of geth vocal processors... the first time one of them did it, I thought I was being mocked, I may have said some things... Lin had to calm me down, actually. She's been encouraging me to refer to them as "the geth people" rather than just "geth". I guess I'll get there eventually, but I think it might take a bit of time. Calling the geth "people" is even harder than calling someone younger than me "Admiral" ;-) Congrats, by the way! Our homeworld is free, the geth are our friends, and I'm fighting in a galactic war bigger than anything I trained for. All those sleepovers on the Rayya seem like forever ago. I'd better go, we're deploying in thirty. Keelah se'lai, -Mel ---------- Media: Don't despair, it's all going to work out: Hey, what are you two doing? Tali isn't a romance option for femshep! Something clearly went wrong with this guy's Reaper code upgrades: I'd never taken this option before, I've always gone "help us understand" in the past: Giving the geth a chance: Of course I was going to pick this one! Uncanny valley aside, this is one of those unambiguously happy moments that is so rare in this trilogy: In one line of dialogue, Legion both self-actualizes and foreshadows Miriam's fate: But of course! The future is bright: Because this is one of my favourite parts of the entire trilogy, I'm "treating" you to the whole mission, including all the mess-ups: wasting shields/health with over-confident strafing; throwing Flares into obstacles; and getting shot to pieces by the three Primes:

Can you recruit Thane without talking to Liara? That would be nice....
To recruit Thane, you have to talk to Liara, but you do not have to ask her about Thane. When you talk to Liara on Illium, if you give her the Shadow Broker information (assuming you have the Shadow Broker DLC) before you ask her about Thane and Samara, she will give you access to her terminal which has the information you need about Thane and Samara which is supposed to allow you to talk to Seryna and the other Asari port attendant (I forget her name; does she have a name?). NOTE: The terminal is glitched, however. While you will see entries for both Thane and Samara, only Thane's works. You can read Samara's entry on the terminal, but it will not add the quest to your journal and you will not be able to talk to the Asari port attendant to get the location of Samara. The good news of course is that you do not need to talk to Liara for very long, and you can skip through most of the conversation with her anyway.

Tracking Officer Dara. I wasn't aware the terminal was bugged, I'll be sure to continue to avoid using it on future playthroughs. Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd: Omega Part 2 - Ramparts, Forcefields, and Aria's Old Flame Commander Shepard and Aria T'Loak headed towards Aria's command centre on D Deck, fighting their way past Cerberus defenders along the way. They found evidence that a mercenary company known as the Talons was active in the area. Aria speculated that they might be resisting Cerberus; Shepard hoped that was true, but she didn't have a great history with Omega merc gangs in general. As they got closer to the rendezvous point, they encountered a squad of enhanced mechs that Cerberus had added to their arsenal. Called Ramparts , they were tougher and deadlier that the standard Hahne-Kedar Loki mech, but between Aria's biotics and Shepard's Revenant LMG they defeated them without too much trouble. Cerberus had erected some forcefields throughout the station, to contain the population. It was making it difficult to reach the command centre. They were making their way through a secret passage Aria knew about when they encountered an old friend of hers, a turian named Nyreen Kandros. The two had apparently been close, so Nyreen knew the station as well as Aria did and was able to stay hidden from Cerberus. The three of them made it to the command centre, after defeating a large number of Cerberus troops outside the bunker. Aria grilled Nyreen about her presence on Omega – Aria had believed Nyreen had left – but eventually accepted Shepard's suggestion that Nyreen help out. Shepard met with Aria to plan the next stage of their invasion. The forcefields Cerberus had erected were cutting off access to much of the station, limiting their options. They'd also lost many troops during the initial phase of the invasion, and would struggle to take on Cerberus forces while being so shorthanded. Aria suggested recruiting the Talons mercenary group to assist, having confirmed the evidence they'd seen earlier that they were forming the bulk of the resistance to Cerberus. Bray had been ordered to keep an eye on Nyreen, so of course she gave him the slip within about 3 minutes and disappeared. Shepard didn't think she was working against them – unless she'd misjudged Nyreen's post-breakup resentment of Aria – but it was odd behaviour regardless, joining up and then leaving again shortly after. Aria didn't seem too concerned, claiming Nyreen was predictable - “a variable I can control”. There was no time to track her down, however. They needed to get to carry on with their plan, so Shepard and Aria prepared to leave the command centre and seek out the Talons. To be continued...

My problem (in some PTs) is I'd rather not talk to Liara at all. It's annoying that she's the gate to 2 recruits. I could live without Samara, even though her recruitment mission is fun. But I like having Thane along.
I understand the new ME2 Recalibrated mod at least takes out the auto-hug, which is big beef for me, but not the only one. It would be nice if you could bypass Liara altogether and just use the hints EDI gives to find them.
