Oh, and I killed my fish. Again. Before I go for Archangel I need more fish. Those poor fish have died a few times on my watch as well, just about to start playing ME2 and have just stuck a post it note on my desk to remind me to feed the fish

After playing MEA so many times, I kinda forgot the Mako had guns.
When I remembered, just one shot took out 4 mercs shooting at me. Good times.
Yes one of the few joys of the Mako Have you hit the spacebar to use your jump jets yet? I did that for at least 2hrs of gameplay Also had to re-map the "R" cause I kept going to reload and instead throwing grenades
No, but I am trying to get the Mako to go faster by pressing E. Where are my boosters?!
I always change grenade to G for just that reason.

I ignore Kelly and head straight to my cabin after every mission. Feed the fish, check email, adjust armor color scheme, play with the radio, try to feed the fish again, just in case they didn't get enough the first time, but the button is disabled....

With regards to the fish I just simply forget sometimes, usually its because I forget to do it before a mission and then log off and forget to do it before I go do another mission!!!!!

Argument in favor of SAM reminding you of your life support levels every 5 seconds:
While standing outside in a level 1 hazard environment, while waiting for space monkeys to line up properly for a screenshot, you won't keel over from standing outside in said hazard for too long.
Thank you, Tali, for screaming that I needed help.
Yes, I NEED HELP!

That's why I'm shamelessly flirting with Kelly so she'll feed my fish, and then give them back to me in ME3.

Yes, I NEED HELP! I think its more cause you get no visual clues in ME1, its pretty hard not to be aware of Voeld's weather. I also totally forgot about it and noticed randomly on Elatania only just before I would have died. I have SAM's environmental comments turned off, he only warns me about life support.

My last PT when I romanced Cora was the first time I didn't also have a casual fling with PB and also with Kerri plus no flirting with Avela. I think one of the best things re the PB romance is that you constantly get to flirt with her and thus get constant feedback on the relationship.

I always change grenade to G for just that reason. Yes, I do try to make the Mako go faster and end up zooming in. Annoying. I think in my last ME1 playthrough I had my Shepard comment about how he'd heard rumors of a faster vehicle but that it sacrificed the cannon to do it. My Shepard found that unacceptable. However, it does give me the perfect lead into MEA where I could have my Ryder wishing he had a cannon but knowing he could go faster in a Nomad than a Mako. That would make it a true continuation of the MET. Grenades didn't present a problem for me. I saved every damn colonist in Zhu's Hope thanks to them.

For me it was difficult as in MEA and in The division as "R" is reload and for over 2 years I had been reflexively hitting it so it was hard to stop. Fortunately in ME2 I can continue to hit "R" as you have to reload.

Some pics from today.
Started the day on Ontarom, where Corp. Toombs was holed up chasing mad scientists. Kate shot Dr. Cerberus and Toombs seemed to be doing ok afterwards. Later, it was time to hunt down some shifty looking cows.
After recuperating in the Mako, take two of Space Monkeys of Eletania. Renegade Shep didn't harm a single one of the little beasties.
I actually made it up here without raging even once. Now on Feros. Took care of all the Zhu's Hope issues. Next stop: ExoGeni HQ.

ProBoards was down last night so I'm going by memory. I did remember to save some screenshots. So, on with Owen Shepard. Landed on Omega to recruit Archangel but needed intel from Aria. One of her guards told me she needed my help defending her "Patriarch", who was some old krogan Aria had defeated long ago and kept around as a trophy. He didn't want my help so I became his krantt to convince him that it would look like he had power again. He agreed, I took out the stupid mercs and he felt like he counted again. Whatever. Got the job done. I got a drink from a batarian bartender and found myself in a similar situation as I was in the Dark Star Lounge after drinking that irradiated krogan liquor. Turned out I'd been poisoned and that I was the only human ever to survive it. I wanted revenge. Went back to the batarian and forced him to drink the same thing I'd had. It was either that or I'd take out his eyes one at a time. He drank and that was the end of this murderous bastard. Doing that called for a celebration. I went dancing, doing my trademarked Shepard Shuffle. Finally, went to the merc leaders and was recruited to go after Archangel. Some stupid kid also wanted to join but I wrecked his 50 credit gun before he got himself killed. I knew I was killing anyone in my way so it was better he wasn't there. Once at the location I found a YMIR mech that was programmed to attack Archangel. I altered its programming to attack whoever was closest to it, which would be the mercs themselves.

I am doing an ME3 Sentinel run with my favorite broshep, Obbie, romancing Ashley. I always wanted to do this run because I have several brosheps, and he never romanced her. I personally wanted to do this because I think he is the best looking broshep I have made and they look pretty good together. But if I'm being honest, I was not having fun with this run and almost abandoned it. But then I got Ash, and she makes it so much more fun now. I think Ash/Sentinel go together really well. I was always convinced Engineer/Ash had the most synergy, but Sentinel is more awesome with her.
I actually wasn't aware that you could save the Victus mission until much later. I thought it was a timed mission like Grissom Academy. Especially since it is a rescue mission. Ash was actually pretty cool on this mission because she sympathized with Victus. There is even a mention of Kaidan from her as well (which is one of the things that always bugged me about Ash. She never mentions Kaidan while Kaidan mentions her). It was really cool, and it has changed my opinion of Ash a tad in terms of ME3. I am planning to take her with me on every mission just to hear her dialogue. So yeah, the run was boring until I got Ash. Also, that woman looks good as hell in one of the alternate outfits (the one Brooks wears in Citadel DLC).
I might have a short vidya of Obbie/Ashley adventures in the next post.

So William Shepard escaped a sabotaged Cerberus Space Station and met Miranda and Jacob and later TIM. William's not quite certain about the whole Cerberus thing after having to already in his career shut down several dreadful projects they were running but in this instance TIM does seem to be the only one willing to take the Reaper threat seriously. Plus having been resurrected from the dead some gratitude needs to be shown even if reluctantly. So William was pleased to find out Joker was to be his pilot and more than happy with receiving a shiny new NormandySR2. After getting to know the crew and receiving some requests from The Cook/Janitor and engineers Gabby and Ken they took the new ship out for a test run exploring the system they were in and probing lots of planets gaining some resources. (I am not sure why but I actually like this gameplay mechanic ) Then headed to Freedoms Choice to investigate the disappearing human colonies where William was very excited to find Tali Zorah. After fighting through some drones and Merc's we found Veetor another Quarian who had captured footage of the kidnapping and it was all done by some species called The Collectors. Took a copy of Veetor's data and let him go with Tali. Did a brief side mission where we found a lab where a Cerberus operative had been captured and tortured and after killing lots of the people who did it, William decided to show his gratitude to Cerberus for his resurrection by sending the data only to Cerberus which didn't feel right but he felt he owed them and that and hoped it may build better trust with TIM. Then was time to do some recruiting on Omega. After being briefed by Aria T'Loak William picked up Zaaed an experienced Merc. Then pulled a quick one on the three main mercenary gangs on Omega to free Archangel who William was pleasantly pleased to find out was actually Garrus who is even more badass with his new scars Then William had to head into a plague ridden area to find Mordin Solus a Salarian Scientist. After fighting through plenty of Vorcha he was found but 12hrs later I am still waiting for him to stop talking so I can figure out what he needs me to do to get him on board Couple of pic's: The Normandy SR2 Placing The Monument to The Normandy SR1 Omega

I'm in another playthrough for the ME-T and have Shepard as an Adept.
My trips on Therum, to find Liara, have been utterly frustrating. Garrus and Kaiden have been better as my squadmates for their tech abilities against the geth, especially for their Decryption/sabotage talents. As an Adept, however, I am ineffective. I'm constantly using the HUD to order Kaiden and Garrus to use their powers; I'm reduced to be being a nervous HUD operator and little else.
I've read through the ME wiki mission outline, but I have not yet learned the best adept strategies I should be using against the geth at this early point in the game. Plus, my talent levels are so low, even after completing every assignment on the Citadel, and the cooldowns take so long for my squadmates to recover their abilities, that I'm running around like a scared cat.
I'm about to give up this playthrough. Your suggestions are welcomed. Is there an Adept thread around here?
EDIT: This is a New Game, not a ng+

Currently playing as Adept and just finished up Feros. I used Lift, Singularity, and Throw mostly, with an occasional Warp. I am on NG+ though, so I have quite a few levels in all powers. I brought Tali for Hacking and Overload, and Ashley for firepower.
I find Therum to be difficult with any class at a low level. If you can cram the Mako through the rocks (hint from dazk: turn it on its side) that will help with the first encounter at the mine entrance.
*****
What I did today:
As mentioned, cleared up Feros. Renegade-persuaded Jeung to not be an asshat (at least for a few minutes) and saved all the colonists. Left Shiala at the colony. Managed to not drive the Mako off the skyway.
Next stop: Armstrong Nebula to take out some geth outposts.
Reminder to self: talk to Tali about her dad BEFORE getting the geth data from the final outpost.

I'm thinking at this point I should try to either: A) Complete a lot of side missions before going to Therum, so I can level up my key Adept talents before battling the heavier-hitting geth on Therum, Noveria, and Feros - or - B. Save the Adept class for a NG+ run-through as you have. I'll read through the NG+ info so I can understand it's advantages for transferring talent points to a different career. cram the Mako through the rocks ... turn it on its side .... that will help with the first encounter at the mine entrance. Wow. I'm stunned this maneuver is possible. I'm blown away! Thanks. K

I find Therum to be difficult with any class at a low level. If you can cram the Mako through the rocks (hint from dazk: turn it on its side) that will help with the first encounter at the mine entrance. I once heard someone say they did this but I have no idea how. This is an especially tough fight near the mine entrance but that's just one reason why I leave Therum until last.

Owen Shepard: I went to see "Sgt. Cathka" to get my orders. He was nice enough to tell me the entire plan and that the gunship was busted and that he was the only mechanic working on it. When Archangel was spotted, everyone ran. I, personally, felt Cathka looked overworked. Being the nice guy that I am, I helped him take a much needed break. I headed toward Archangel with the rest of the freelancers, who I promptly began shooting in the back. Did get nicked by Archangel but nothing my shields couldn't handle. Once all the mercs were down, I made my way to Archangel. I watched him use a sniper rifle to take out one last merc before turning my way. Then he took off his help. I knew he was a turian but, damn, I never expected Garrus Vakarian. TIM said he couldn't find Garrus but here he was on my list of recruits. Jaroth, the head of Eclipse, but in an appearance. He rolled out his YMIR mech, the same one I'd messed with earlier. It immediately started firing on the mercs, making that much fewer of them to deal with. Then we dealt with the YMIR itself. Next, I had to seal some doors to keep the mercs from coming through. I left Zaeed with Garrus while Jack and I took care of that. As soon as that was done, Garm showed up with his Blood Pack. Still, he went down, which left only one mercenary left. Tarak showed up in his gunship with plenty of Blue Suns mercs. The gunship wasn't up to snuff but it was still able to fire a shot off that took Garrus out. I didn't know if he was okay or not but I was damned sure Tarak was going to pay for it. One thing I did have on my was an M-920 Cain. Nothing like a nuke to take out a shitty gunship. Now I just have to get back to the Normandy and hope he survives. Garrus did survive but with some serious scars on his face. He tried to laugh it off but he didn't look so good. Can't say why but he refused to have his scars healed. I was the opposite. Didn't want anything messing up my pretty face. Bonus: My fish are still alive. Fortunately, my space hamster requires a lot less care, but I still draw the little guy out whenever I'm in my cabin. Went around to the crew to see if they had any ideas about upgrades. Mordin gave me plans for an upgrade to his omni-tool. Jacob suggested upgraded armor, since the ship was specced to the original Normandy and the Collectors had destroyed it with ease. Miranda suggested an upgrade to the scanners so we could cover more area with the planet scans in less time. Useful for mineral recovery but not so much for battle. Garrus set us up with a Thanix Cannon, powerful enough to take out a Collector ship. Exactly the kind of weapon the Normandy needed. Grunt had an upgrade for shotguns. Jack had schematics for the L5x implants, which would make her stronger. I could use that, too, but this was experimental and upgrading biotic implants often didn't go well so I passed. So did Miranda and Jacob.

If you can cram the Mako through the rocks (hint from dazk : turn it on its side) that will help with the first encounter at the mine entrance. Thank you for your helpful Adept comments. cram the Mako through the rocks ... turn it on its side .... that will help with the first encounter at the mine entrance. Wow. I'm stunned this maneuver is possible. I'm blown away! Thanks. K So @khrystyn there is a bit of luck involved with it and it may result in you ending up in the lava a couple of times All I did after several other unsuccessful attempts was to drive the Mako to the gap between the rocks and line it up as centrally as you can with the nose against the rocks, then just hold the forward button and it'll try and push through, keep holding it and for me the Mako flipped onto its side and went through Good luck.
