I'm in another playthrough for the ME-T and have Shepard as an Adept. My trips on Therum, to find Liara, have been utterly frustrating. Garrus and Kaiden have been better as my squadmates for their tech abilities against the geth, especially for their Decryption/sabotage talents. As an Adept, however, I am ineffective. I'm constantly using the HUD to order Kaiden and Garrus to use their powers; I'm reduced to be being a nervous HUD operator and little else. I've read through the ME wiki mission outline, but I have not yet learned the best adept strategies I should be using against the geth at this early point in the game. Plus, my talent levels are so low, even after completing every assignment on the Citadel, and the cooldowns take so long for my squadmates to recover their abilities, that I'm running around like a scared cat. I'm about to give up this playthrough. Your suggestions are welcomed. Is there an Adept thread around here? I have to head to work, but I'll try to write something up when I get back home. Generally, all the classes will struggle early game since you have crap equipment and cooldowns. capn233 has an ME1 Adept levelling guide here, if that helps in the meantime.

Owen Shepard: TIM wanted to see me. By which he meant he we'd be using a holoprojector so he didn't have to leave his safe, secure location. TIM told me he heard the Collectors were going after a human colony in the Terminus Systems, Horizon. Further, he said Kaidan was there. That couldn't be a coincidence but I'm not sure how TIM came by the information about the Collectors. It's not like they release their agenda. TIM, not risking his ass and staying safe at his secret base. I checked with Mordin. He had a defense against the seeker swarms, something that made us invisible to them. Not the Collectors, though, and I had my first up close and personal encounter with them. First encounter with the Collectors. Seeing a Collector ship up close is also damn scary. Just after losing contact with the Normandy, I encountered husks. All the evidence I needed to connect the Collectors with the Reapers - though, given TIM knew what was going to happen, and Cerberus having made husks of their own, it's possible he's in league with them. Saw a lot of those pods that the colonists on Freedom's Progress had been taken away in. Then I saw some colonists in stasis, seeker swarms around them but ignoring us. Colonists in stasis. Eventually found a colonist named Delan who wasn't frozen. He'd gotten into a building and sealed it to keep the seeker swarms out. Told me the Alliance had sent Kaidan there to install GARDIAN laser turrets for defense but that they needed to be calibrated. Good thing I had Garrus along with me though, tbh, I'm not sure why Kaidan couldn't do it. This is exactly his kind of thing. One thing was weird was that something kept taking over Collectors, talking about "direct intervention" being required. When it did, the Collector would start to glow and float. It was also more powerful. Still, I'd picked up one of the Collectors' own particle rifles and it did a very good job of disintegrating the enemy. Then found a new, more twisted creature. It was similar to husks in some ways but there was more to it. Scion. Got to the GARDIAN. Hacked into it and was able to make contact with the Normandy. Rather than Garrus, I asked EDI to work on calibrations. She could do it much faster but said it would take time. We needed to prepare ourselves for a hell of a battle defending it from the Collectors. We were doing fine until this flying thing showed up. It had serious defenses and regeneration ability. Praetorian. We beat that monstrosity right as EDI was finishing the calibrations. That caused the Collector ship to depart. Unfortunately, it took half the colony with it. I was really hoping Kaidan wasn't among them. But then I turned around and he was there. Then he walked up to me and was in my arms. Unfortunately, despite the warm greeting, Kaidan wasn't happy. He thought I'd turned traitor, siding with Cerberus, not knowing I was on an undercover mission. Oh, and one side note. The "anti-human terrorists" who attacked me left a lot of people thinking I was dead. This left Kaidan believing I'd faked my death. I tried to get him to come along, to help me against the Collectors, but he refused to ever work Cerberus. Funny, too, since he ran with Faith and they never encountered Cerberus. Garrus, who had been with me in fighting with them, was by my side. Still, he ranked high enough to know the score and I couldn't tell him the truth, especially not with Miranda standing right next to me. It didn't look good. Kaidan had heard rumors I was working with Cerberus. Anderson stonewalled him, like he had me when I asked about Kaidan. It was one thing for him to say I'd betrayed the Alliance, but to hear him say I'd betrayed him...that really hurt. He did suggest Cerberus might be behind the disappearances, and the thought had crossed my mind, but either way I was on a mission. Kaidan walked away and boy was I ever not in a good mood. We got the hell off Horizon as soon as possible. My suspicions regarding TIM weren't entirely wrong. He had tipped off the Alliance that I was working with Cerberus in order to try to lure Kaidan to Horizon. He suspected the Collectors were targeting me and people close to me and decided to risk the lives of the colonists on Horizon to prove it. I want to say he was wrong but I knew that he was right when he said they'd eventually attack another colony where we wouldn't be prepared. This would make them more cautious and I saved more colonists that I could have without warning. Still, it was a shitty thing to do. Those colonists deserved better. TIM gave me a few more dossiers on people to recruit. One of them was Tali, so he must have thought she'd be useful despite his earlier reticence about having her with me. I suppose it was his way of trying to earn my trust. The others were a drell assassin and an asari justicar, whatever that might be. Jacob also implied some of the squad might be to clear up some unfinished business. Guess it was time to make the rounds and ask what was going on. And feed my fish.

Early game, each class is about in the same situation: poor equipment, few powers, long cooldowns. It's more noticeable on the higher difficulties. Early game weapon-focused classes tend to use their best abilities right away and as often as possible (Immunity, weapon-specific powers). For the powers-focused classes, you need to use your powers more situationally instead of spamming them. Adept especially is kind of weird early, since you start with Warp, Throw, Barrier, and possibly a bonus talent. Warp can be useful, but is not seemingly as useful as Throw. And Throw is kind of weak compared to Lift and Singularity although it still has its uses. Generally on Eden Prime, you will mostly just use your Pistol to shoot and kill, occasionally use Throw when some enemies (mostly husks) get too close, and use Warp to debuff some tougher enemies like Geth Shock Trooper or the one Geth Destroyer. Barrier is best as a quick shield boost early. Later game, you can spam Barrier like you would Immunity. My recommended outline: 1. Eden Prime (of course) 2. Citadel priority missions: (a) See Harkin, if you don't mind dealing with the two assassins (otherwise go see Barla Von and get Wrex first), ( Med clinic fight, (c) Chora's Den/Fist/Tali. Enter Chora's Den by staying at the door and pistol-snipe everything; you probably do this anyway with most classes. Exit Chora's Den with the same strategy; you should have plenty of time and no Krogan to worry about. Tali's fight is the hardest since you can get sabotaged. Just stay behind the left-hand box and take your time since there is no time limit. 3. Do all the extra Citadel missions. If you have all XP bonuses for completing the game already, you should be able to leave at level 11 or 12 (I forget which). 4. Go to Edolus to look for Kahoku's men. Kill the Thresher Maw. You earn -50% XP if you kill in the Mako, so if you want to squeek out a little more XP early, step out of the Mako to finish off enemies on foot. 5. Go to Gemini Sigma and do the mission on the freighter with the life support guy and his crazy biotic girlfriend (I forget if it's in the Han or Ming system). It's only one enemy so more easy XP. 6. Go to Hawking Eta and deal with Major Kyle. If you have been spending points into Charm or Intimidate, you should have enough by this point to resolve it peacefully. So easy XP. There is also a Thresher Maw (more easy XP) and some scavengers. Scavengers should be easy if you just kill them with the Mako guns and cannon. Again, easy XP. 7. If you really want more XP before you head to recruit Liara (which I recommend you do first before Feros or Noveria), then you can do the following: - scan/survey all clusters for stuff (planets and asteroids for minerals, medalians, data discs, and writings) - 3 of the Armstrong Cluster planets (Geth Incursion); since you can do 3 of the first 4 planets without getting out of the Mako, that's some good XP with less death risk. The 4th planet (with husks) is not good early; best to save it until you have better equipment and more talent points. -Argos Rho > Hydra(?) > Metgos. Geth Ambush, don't need to get out of the Mako, so fairly easy XP. 8. Therum (recruit Liara). a. First half is mostly in the Mako. As mentioned earlier, you can boost your XP a little by getting out of the Mako to finish enemies off. You don't have to do it with all enemies. b. Second half is on foot. Save your game when you first get on foot, and after every enemy encounter. Don't be afraid to take it slow. Snipers will kill you and you are not safe behind all cover. c. Armature fight: At the very beginning, order your squadmates to the left (to the other side of the structure on your left) and run there yourself. The Armature and Geth snipers cannot hit you from here, and the Geth hoppers are forced to move into your line of sight to shoot at you. Pick off the hoppers one at a time. If they aim at you (green or red laser lines), aim at them and use a power (your power(s) or a squadmate's power) to stop them. When you finish with the hoppers, move back to the big box. Take crouching cover on the box and take out the snipers first. Move to the center of the box if the Armature or Geth starts to fire at you (big blue energy buildup on the Armature, or red laser from a sniper). You can be killed if you are sticking to one side instead of the middle when they fire at you. d. Inside the mines: either take it slow, or run fast to deal with the first Geth. From there, try to stay out of the line of sight from the other Geth. In the next part, take cover from the drones. e. The next fight after talking with Liara can be sometimes be hard. Basically, you can kill a few guys will still staying up on the scaffolding. If you go down below, take out the Shock Trooper(s) first. They will advance on you. Use Throw or Singularity/Pull (if you have it) to keep them from killing you. If you see red lasers, that is sniper so take cover. Keep moving in a circular motion to avoid rockets from Rocket Troopers. f. Krogan Battlemaster fight: I saw someone point out once that the Krogan Battlemaster will run and hide out of the way if you do not attack him right away. So if you avoid hitting him, you can take out all the Geth first (try to avoid using some powers right away, just in case), then you can deal with just him. If he gets close, he will try to melee you like other Krogan do, so keep backing up if you need to survive. The Krogan Battlemaster is immune to Basic Throw, and I think Basic Singularity? So Lift (yours and/or Kaiden's) and Neural Shock (Kaiden) is good for keeping him under control. Warp will also debuff him (he will take more damage), so try to use that when his shields are gone. * * * I recommend Therum before Feros or Noveria since you need more and better powers to deal with Rachni and Benezia fights, and the Thorian Creeper zombie rush more easily. Plus Feros is best left later if you want to persuade Jeong (requires 12 Charm, 10 Intimidate). Adept is weakest against the drone on Luna (Rogue VI mission). Take tech squadmates there. Run in, shoot, then back to the door and deal with them from the end of a long hallway. Overload, Sabotage, and AI Hacking work best on this mission. Other than that, you will get used to it and you will get better as you level up and get better equipment.

So yesterday William started by picking up with recruiting Mordin, having already spoken to him and Renegade shut him up a few times William headed off to kill Vorcha and introduce the cure to the plague via the ventilation system. All went to plan, found Daniel, Vorcha were eliminated and cure dispensed Took Mordin back to the Normandy and got some detail on his background, William surprisingly was vehement that Mordin/Salarians had done the wrong thing in creating the Genophage which Mordin was not too impressed with. Then back to Omega to deliver a datapad to Aria Will had found which hopefully got him some influence with The Queen of Omega however it also got him the location of some resources on an unchartered planet. Then got drunk with Doctor Chakwas and both of them thoroughly enjoyed regaling each other with stories about the old crew. Then off to The Citadel where William recruited Kasumi Goto (one of my biggest annoyances is that you couldn't romance Kasumi ) and then sorted out that he was actually alive and not The Walking Dead Then off to see Anderson, Will was a little apprehensive meeting his mentor given that he was now working with Cerberus. There was however nothing to worry about and Anderson had also set up a meeting with the council to get Shepard's Spectre status re-enabled. Udina walked in not long after and was a pain in the butt as usual. So off to do some shopping, William cleaned out every store on 3 floors of Zakera ward including picking up some ingredients for The Normandy's cooks tentacle soup and he may have given a few endorsements. Will has a soft spot for Quarians and defended one who was incorrectly accused of stealing a Volus's credit chit, of course the Volus, (Will has no soft spot's for Volus except for Niftu Cal - The Biotic God) had simply left it behind in a shop. Will had no hesitation telling The Volus and C-Sec officer what a couple of F!#@kwits they were Then back to The Normandy where Will caught up with Kasumi and then decided to head straight out and do her LM. Kasumi's plan went without a hitch and Will was suitably impressed with her skills in particular her ability to do Gymnastics on a moving helicopter gunship They chatted when back on The Normandy and Will encouraged her to keep her boyfriends greybox. So next I headed off to do some "Firewalker" mission, has this been recently added?. It may be early senility but I have zero recollection of this mission and as I hate The Hammerhead and this type of mission I am sure I would remember it. Anyway I was tired and I needed to log off so quit it about 1/3 through. Today Will needs to decide whether to help Zaeed or recruit Jack or Grunt first. He's leaning towards Zaeed's mission as he wants the Assault Rifle upgrade that I think you can get there.

It still boggles my mind I am still learning that there are scenes I have never even thought were a possibility even after so many playthroughs. The second video in particular, impressed me about Kaidan.

Owen Shepard: Based on what he said earlier, I knew Jacob had something on his mind. Went to talk to him. He said he got a message about a ship his father served on that went missing ten years ago. A distress beacon was suddenly activated but only said help was needed. Curiously, it was routed to the Normandy, which made no sense. He doubted TIM was behind it but didn't think it was an accident. We decided we'd investigate before going through the Omega-4 relay since he might not get the chance to put this behind him otherwise. Got a message from Admiral Hackett. Was this guy trying to destroy my mission or what? I didn't know if he actually knew I was undercover but he was tight with Anderson so it was possible. Unless? But, no, it's not possible he was one of the higher ups who secretly helped and/or funded Cerberus. I know they're out there but not who. In any case, he wanted me to infiltrate a batarian base - by myself - to rescue some woman named Amanda Kenson who supposedly had intel on an imminent Reaper invasion. Damn, couldn't he have routed it to those assholes on the Council who tried to tell me it was all bullshit? I was willing, but finding the time for it would be difficult. I was sold on defeating the Collectors. I could get that much out of Cerberus before turning on them, assuming I could even get close to TIM. Both missions sounded like suicide but I wanted the Collectors out of the way first. Miranda had a story of her own. Something about a twin sister living a normal life on Illium but now their evil father was coming after her. I couldn't exactly say no, at least not without seeming like a dick, so I agreed. Besides, just because Miranda is Cerberus it doesn't mean her sister deserves to be harmed. And this would go a long way toward Miranda trusting me. Everyone else seemed fine, or as fine is it was ever going to get with this motley crew. Along the way, I decided to do one of those stupid scanning missions with that crappy Hammerhead. Couldn't they have strapped some jets on a Mako and called it a day? At least that thing could be repaired with omni-gel. Sure, that shit is illegal now but I doubt Cerberus cares. They probably have a stockpile of it somewhere. This planet was loaded with geth so I guess it was worth my time after all, if only to watch those stupid robots explode. Honestly, though, the geth have seriously downgraded. I can take out a geth colossus from far away because it doesn't shoot back. Not the case on Feros, or so Faith told me when she was there to kill that gigantic, sentient plant. Ended up acquiring five artifacts by scanning the ground. Clueless how that worked but I did get to destroy geth. Still no sign of the missing researchers. Again, I'm pretty sure TIM doesn't care so long as we keep finding their research. Got a message from Corporal Toombs. Boy, was he ever pissed to hear I was running with Cerberus. I know what they did to him. It's a good reminder that Cerberus is NOT good, even if they're currently doing something good. After all, it's also in their best interests if the Reapers don't invade the galaxy. Then I got this message from Kaidan. He was sorry but not sorry at the same time. I understood. Really wanted to respond back but I didn't know if I could afford an emotional entanglement right now. He did say that maybe when things settled down something could happen. This stupid mission is what pulled us apart in the first place and I really wish I could just shoot TIM in the head and be done with it. Wouldn't solve the Collector issue but could get Kaidan on my ship. Kelly told me Jack wanted to talk so I went down into the depths of the Normandy to do that. She told me Cerberus raised her, did experiments on her, drugged her, tortured her, all with the intent of turning her into a super-biotic. No wonder she has such hatred for them. She found the facility where she was raised and wanted it destroyed. It was abandoned since her escape was much like the one from Purgatory: she wrecked everything in her path. This was one mission I had no problem helping her with. Note: This batch of fish continues to live.

As far as I know, Firewalker has been there since the beginning, free with the Cerberus Network. Maybe you didn't have it downloaded / weren't logged in to the network on your previous playthrough(s)?

i have recently installed ME1, ME2 and currently doing an ME3 engineer run with EGM mod on ( 1st time using it ). I'm also in the process of collecting various mods that i'll drop into ALOT installer which i plan to use before a complete trilogy run . (and probably watch the whole thing explode at launch !! ).

Everyone I speak to says the same that's its been there since release but I am 100% certain I have never seen these missions till this PT and I have played ME2 over ten times and I am a 100% PT person. The only thing I can think is that I must have only ever played ME2 previously from disc and this time around I played it from Origin, as I bought all the games on Origin when ME3 came out and maybe the DLC came with the online version. I remember when I started this PT I was surprised by The Firewalker armour being in my inventory as I also didn't remember that. I don't ever remember not logging into The Cerberus Network, I thought you had to in order to play the game. Anyway, finished the first mission and will look at doing the other three at some stage.

I was seriously worried I had completely forgotten this mission somehow but now I can see its 3 or 4 missions and the Firewalker armour turned up in my inventory for the first time I am not so worried that I am going crazy I saw online that others have had issues with it not showing up and it was mostly to do with registering DLC or old BSN accounts. My only guess is that I must have only ever have played it from disc and somehow not "activated" the DLC but I am just guessing.

So yesterday William got a fair bit done, completed the first Firewalker mission noticed there were more and thought they can wait!!!!!! Got upgrades for The Normandy from Jack, Jacob, Garrus and Miranda but need to remember to check with Mordin. Took Zaeed to track down Vido and again this mission was not as long or as difficult as I remembered. Let Zaeed have his way and Will felt bad but left the workers to die in order to ensure Vido was caught, which he was much to Zaeed's pleasure. Found the crashed ship with all the Mech's and cleared that. Recruited Jack and the mission again wasn't as difficult as I remember which was good. Chatted a couple of times and William is intrigued by her personality there is obviously a lot going on inside that brain, lets just hope it doesn't cause an issue especially with Miranda We discovered the MSV Estevanico and it took a couple of times to get it done as I had forgotten how to get Shepard to climb onto the beam Thanks to melbella for the assist From a personal perspective this mission is a nightmare, I fine with heights if there is a barrier or I have a rope attached to me but otherwise I am terrible and it scares the daylights out of me I'd be OK with doing this mission if the game didn't have the added feature of the structural noises and the picture shaking, its seriously like torture for me Anyway moving right along Other than that explored/surveyed lots of planets, not sure what it is but I get a perverse enjoyment out of doing the scanning in this game. I don't gamble but it almost seems to have the same characteristics as playing a Poker Machine. Today will go collect Grunt and maybe do Overlord and finish the Firestorm stuff. Pic's The Hammerhead entering the Normandy Zaaed puts an end to Vido Hello Jack Bad Jack, don't even think about stealing my ship: Scenery leaving the crashed ship with all the mech's:

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd: Citadel: Silversun Strip - Party Like It's 2199 While final preparations were being made for the assault on Cerberus' headquarters, Shepard and her crew took time out for a brief get-together at Anderson's apartment on the Silversun Strip. Everyone who could get away from their duties came (unfortunately Dr Chakwas and the engineering crew were too busy), including old friends from the Omega-4 Relay mission. It started off nice and quiet, but a few people complained that it was a little dull, so Shepard asked Glyph to crank up the music a bit. Shepard even joined some people on the dance floor, which gave everyone a good laugh at her expense. Grunt had fun playing bouncer at the door (“just push this button and say 'NO!'” ). Zaeed made a pass at Samara and got shot down in flames, but Ashley had better luck with James. Jack and Miranda buried the hatchet ... more or less. The SR2 Cerberus crew got a chance to know the Alliance folks and vice-versa, except for Kasumi who seemed to be too busy snooping. To each their own. Everyone seemed to have a nice time, and at the end of the night Glyph took a group photo to commemorate the night. The next morning, Shepard found a datapad that someone from STG had evidently snuck into the apartment during the festivities. It had recordings Mordin made before he died. Shepard took a moment to remember the ones who weren't with them – Kaidan, Mordin, Legion, Thane, Pressly, Jenkins. Hopefully they could end this war without adding to that list. All good things must come to an end, though, and shore leave was over. It was time to rid the galaxy of Cerberus, and then set their sights on the Reapers. Normandy The Alliance was ready to assault Cronos Station, Cerberus HQ, to retrieve the information on the Catalyst that Cerberus had stolen. Admiral Hackett advised Shepard that this action would tip their hand to the Reapers – they wouldn't be able to keep the Crucible hidden once they committed fleets to take on Cerberus. Attacking Cerberus was “the first stage of our attack on Earth”. This was end-game. During the flight, Liara came to visit Shepard in her quarters, and they spent the night together – likely the last chance to be alone they'd have for quite a while (maybe ever). Shepard's sleep was once again plagued by the strange dreams of the boy from Earth, with disturbing “oily shadows”, and whispers from dead friends. She was more than a little concerned about her own mental state, but she had to persevere. Horsehead Nebula: Cronos Station EDI and Liara accompanied Shepard for the assault on Cerberus HQ. EDI's knowledge of Cerberus security systems made her essential, although Joker wasn't happy about the risk she was taking.
While Hackett's fleet took on the Cerberus ships defending the station, Steve used the shuttle to get the ground team into the hanger. EDI rigged a Cerberus fighter to launch into the heart of the station itself, carving a path for them to take to the central lab where the stolen Prothean VI was located.
Along the way, they encountered Cerberus defenders. EDI confirmed something Shepard had long suspected – that Cerberus was kidnapping civilians and implanting them with Collector technology to use as huskified shock troops. That was the real reason TIM had wanted Shepard to capture the Collector base – he wasn't trying to save human colonies from the Collectors, he wanted to turn humanity into the new Collectors.
They discovered video logs that revealed details about Project Lazurus, EDI's origins (including how she helped protect them from Cerberus after going rogue), and experiments with Collector tech on someone named Grayson that evidently led to the work at Sanctuary and TIMs belief that he could control Reaper forces.
Near the lab, they found a huge chamber with what appeared to be the remains of the human proto-Reaper they'd seen at the Collector base. There was no way that it should have been as intact as it was, given that Shepard had destroyed the base. Perhaps TIM was trying rebuild it (that might explain why they wanted so much eezo from Omega). Given everything they'd learned, nothing would surprise Shepard anymore.
They found TIMs office, and began searching the computers for the Prothean VI. TIM interrupted over the QEC, and he and Shepard argued once again, largely a rehash of their previous discussion. TIM was still under his delusion that destroying the Reapers “would be the worst mistake we could ever make”, and that he could control them somehow.
TIM disconnected, and EDI found and activated the Prothean VI. It revealed that the Catalyst was the Citadel, and that combined with the Crucible it could defeat the Reapers. Shepard pointed out that the Citadel was built by the Reapers; it was a key component in how they manipulated the development of organic races. She wasn't entirely convinced by the VI's answer.
There wasn't much time to mull it over, however. The VI revealed that TIM had leaked all of this information to the Reapers, and that they had captured the Citadel and moved it to Earth for protection. Shepard had no idea how that was even possible. Things were making less and less sense all the time.
Their investigation gave Kai Leng time to catch up to them, and a fight ensued. With no gunship to help him this time, the Cerberus assassin was defeated and killed. Long overdue.
Back on the Normandy, Shepard filled Admiral Anderson in on what had transpired. Anderson informed Shepard that the Reapers seemed to be concentrating on London, and that's where much of the resistance was now focused. It looked like Shepard and the admiral would be reunited soon.

As far as I know, Firewalker has been there since the beginning, free with the Cerberus Network. Maybe you didn't have it downloaded / weren't logged in to the network on your previous playthrough(s)? From what I recall, the (free) Firewalker missions were added the Cerberus Network some time after ME2 was released, before the Overlord DLC (which also featured the Hammerhead). The first Firewalker mission introduces the Hammerhead controls/mechanics. Somewhat funny story that I recall: some guy on the old BSN forums complained that he could not play the Overlord DLC since it did not tell him how to use the Hammerhead. (Obviously: the guy bought the Overlord DLC but did not download or play the free Firewalker missions which would have told him how to play). You only really need to play 3 of the 5 Firewalker missions: the first mission (which gets you the Hammerhead), then the volcano mission (which gets you the location of the Prothean dig site), then the Prothean dig site which will net you a Biotic Damage upgrade and a new cabin accessory.

Been chatting with some people and they were all how did you do Overlord if you didn't do Firewalker to get the Hammerhead, simple answer was it was just there in the garage of the first building you go to IIRC !!!!!!

Owen Shepard: Went to the Teltin Facility on Pragia where Jack had been raised. The entire planet was overgrown with plant life except for this facility, which was in bad shape. Brought Garrus along because I didn't want anyone spouting any bullshit about how Cerberus is misunderstood. It was bad enough hearing Miranda say that crap around Kaidan. We did hear a video log suggesting this facility had gone rogue. Problem is that TIM spies on everyone. No way he didn't have ways to know what was going on. And, once again, I know what Cerberus was doing - Toombs, husks, Thorian creepers, rachni - if they could turn a human into a husk without a problem I doubt torturing kids presented any moral dilemma. This guy did just lure the Collectors - and Kaidan - to a human colony. And then there was the morgue. Why even have something like that in a facility whose only subjects were children? Then we came across some Blood Pack mercs. They were there for salvage but weren't having much luck. We killed the mercs and found the guy who hired him, someone named Aresh. He's been a test subject at Teltin as well but while Jack came out of it pissed off, this guy was insane. He had ideas about restarting Teltin and unlocking the "true biotic potential" in humans. His twisted logic told him there had to be a reason for why batarians had sold him (we'll call that another knock against Cerberus - buying from slavers), why he'd been tortured, saying it must have been for a good reason. I convinced Jack to let go of her past, saying he was crazy and could never even succeed. She accepted it and let him go. Then we planted a bomb, she relived a few memories, and triggered the detonator as we flew off in the shuttle. I was more than happy to see a Cerberus facility, even one that was abandoned, go up in flames. Had a chat with Jack afterward. She appreciated my help, glad she didn't have to stay trapped in her past like Aresh. I don't think she's going to change overnight - she's still angry as hell - but maybe now she'll at least have a chance. Mordin also wanted to see me. One of his team that helped modify the genophage so the krogan didn't adapt to it had been captured by Blood Pack mercs and was being held on Tuchanka. Mordin feared they might torture or kill him and wanted to free him if possible. I was no fan of the genophage but I needed Mordin's head on straight. One more thing to add to the list. Joker asked me how things went with Kaidan on Horizon. I told him it went okay. He said he was glad because he didn't want to see my mood if it had gone bad. Shows what he knows. We'll see if he can stick to his own rules about not dating crew members. On the planet Helyme, at an Eldfell-Ashland facility, there were signs of mercenary activity. Eclipse mercs, nothing serious, especially given that this was an abandoned mine. Thing is, all the civilians there were dead. That meant those bastards were going to follow them. There were a lot of vanguards there. Can I tell you how satisfying it is to take out one of those asari commando vanguards who think they're so superior to everyone else? Loved seeing those bitches die. Anyway, recovered some encrypted data and sent it along to Cerberus. Kelly said Grunt was agitated. I went to see him. He was even more aggressive than normal, having a feeling of wanting to kill something with his bare hands. I thought it was typical krogan behavior but he wasn't so sure. I agreed to take him to Tuchanka - we were going there anyway - to see what we could find out.

William Shepard started the day shutting down a facility that had been taken over by an insane VI, another step in discovering the source of the rogue mech's we found with the crashed spaceship a couple of days ago. It was pretty straight forward with a few puzzles to solve but the dead bodies everywhere were a bit disconcerting. Then off to recruit The Krogan Okeer with Garrus and Zaeed, discovered a Blue Suns training camp that were using Krogan created by Okeer for live fire training. They quickly realised we were there and got organised but a group of merc's and the some crazy Krogan weren't going to stop Will, Zaeed and Garrus. When we finally got to Okeer he explained and showed us a "pefect" Krogan soldier he created but as we were planning to leave "Jadore" the mercenary leader decided to flood the lab with toxic gas. Whilst we took Jadore and the rest of her merc's out of the game Okeer gave his life to secure the pod containing his super soldier for transport. Then got a call from TIM who said he'd identified the next human colony to be hit by the Collectors Horizon. Unknown to Will at the time TIM had leaked to the council that Shepard was alive and heading there so that they'd send Kaidan as an ex crew mate there and that would lure the Collectors there. So off to Horizon, where Will took Garrus and Mordin with him. He figured Mordin should be accountable for his experimental new armour mod for stopping the Seeker swarms. When we arrived there was a huge Collector ship and a large Collector presence, the squad fought through to the tower controlling the non-functioning Anti-ship guns and asked EDI to get to work recalibrating them but the squad then had to fight off new waves of Collectors which they did until the guns were online and hitting the collector ship. The ship left and Kaidan arrived!!!!!! It was great to see Kaidan again but he was clearly alarmed that Will was with Cerberus, the discussion didn't end well and Will was quite distressed by it. Back on The Normandy Will debriefed with TIM and then went and had a chat with Jack who has decided she wants to Nuke the Cerberus facility she was raised in, Will was onboard, he's always liked some fireworks Got a call from Admiral Hackett about doing a solo rescue of a long time colleague and friend of Hackett's from some Batarians. Will was uncertain about going alone into a Batarian compound but confident in his abilities and with an opportunity to help and hopefully help Admiral Hackett he was eager for the challenge. Will decided to continue his recruitment tour first though and headed off to recruit Tali and found her in a dire situation on a planet whose sun melts your shields and surrounded by Geth. This was (finally) a challenging combat scenario and Garrus and a newly awakened Grunt had fun taking down a huge assortment of Geth, finally fighting there way to Tali who agreed to join Will reluctantly on his Cerberus mission to stop the Collectors. Today Will needs to go through all the outstanding missions he has and prioritise what to do next having had both Miranda and Jacob also drop personal mission requests on him on top of Hackett and Jack's requests. Never a dull day in Commander Shepard's life!!!!! Couple of Pic's Our new squad mate This guy and his ship My two favourite Quarian's

Rooted out geth in the Armstrong Cluster. I wish there was some console or something to interact with where they had set up their monitoring station on one of the planets. Found lots of data they left behind and gave a copy to Tali.
Followed up on some coordinates found at ExoGeni HQ. Someone there sent Thorian creeper samples off-world for another lab to study. They of course got loose and killed everyone at the work site, except for one scientist and a couple of her bodyguards. Kate took them out for their carelessness.
Found the ship Garrus had mentioned, carrying one "Dr. Heart" and several test subjects. The doctor didn't get away this time.
I forget where I left off yesterday - I think I still have one more creeper system to explore in Maroon Sea.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 cont'd:
Normandy
Shepard went around the ship and checked in with everyone, seeing if they needed anything before the final battle. Everyone realized that the end was in sight, so there was some reminiscing to go along with the pep talks. Diana Allers revealed that Bekenstein, her home colony, had been destroyed by the Reapers when captured the Citadel. Tali was in the main battery visiting Garrus. Shepard had suspected those two had been growing closer and was happy for them.
Admiral Hackett came aboard to discuss tactics with the commander, after broadcasting a speech to the fleets to rally the troops.
Admiral Anderson joined by vidcom. The plan was that Shepard would lead ground forces to the location of some sort of beam in London that the Reapers had set up to transport people to the Citadel. Meanwhile, the fleets would screen the Crucible long enough to get into position, ready to attach to the Citadel when Shepard's forces reached the station and opened the ward arms.
Local Cluster: Earth - Stand Strong. Stand Fast. Stand Together.
The fleets came through the Sol relay and punched a hole through Reaper defences so that the ground forces could reach Earth. As always, Shepard took Liara and Tali in her squad. They destroyed ground based cannons that were guarding London so that the remaining troops could land and rendezvous at Anderson's forward operations base. There was a close call as Steve tried to provide air support and was forced into a crash landing, but he survived and got to safety.
They met up with Anderson and headed for the FOB.
At the base, Shepard checked in with each member of her squad. Everyone could sense that the end was close, and Shepard knew that they would do her proud, no matter what happened. She was also able to communicate by vidcom with friends fighting elsewhere – Jack and her students, Samara, Grunt and the rest of the old crew.
Liara said she had a “gift” for Shepard, and they joined minds, like they had back when chasing Saren.
Anderson briefed everyone on the mission to reach the “beam”. The long and short of it was they'd have to fight past an army of Reaper ground forces and a Destroyer. Missile batteries would assist with taking out the Destroyer – it was hoped – but they'd be fighting the rest on foot.
Shepard gave her crew one last pep talk, reminding them that they'd made it this far together, and they could depend on each other to get them rest of the way.
Shepard took Liara and Tali in her squad. They battled what felt like hundreds of husks, cannibals, marauders, brutes, banshees (and one harvester) across the no-mans land of what was left of London.
They reached the missile batteries, and the Reaper Destroyer which stood between them and the beam. The first two – of four total – missiles missed due to interference from the beam. In what was a hellish fight, they managed to draw the Destroyer away from the beam, dodging fire from it's main gun while also fighting Reaper ground troops.
They were finally able to fire the remaining missiles, which hit the target and finished off the Destroyer. Anderson arrived in a Mako shortly after (perfect timing, Admiral).
They received word that a group of Sovereign class Reapers – including Harbinger – had broken off from the battle in Earth orbit and were heading to the site of the beam. They'd have to hurry. The Mako crashed short of the beam, and they were faced with a wide open field that they'd have to cross on foot while trying to avoid fire from Harbinger, who'd joined the party and was defending the beam.
They made a run for the beam, but halfway across Liara was wounded and Shepard called the Normandy to evacuate her and Tali. They didn't want to leave – Shepard knew they both would have stuck by her side no matter what, but she wanted them to get to safety.
Shepard resumed her run to the beam, but before she reached it she was hit by a shot from Harbinger. She was able to stand, barely, and saw Harbinger leave the battle. Did it think the job was done? Everything seemed to have a surreal, dream-like quality. The effect of her wounds, presumably.
She staggered to the beam, taking out a few husks and a marauder that tried to stop her, using a pistol she'd picked up off the ground (she lost her weapons when she was hit by Harbinger). She entered the beam, and re-emerged in some dark dark. She heard Anderson's voice calling her over the radio; evidently he'd followed her to wherever they were – the Citadel, they assumed, but Anderson pointed out it looked more like Shepard's description of the Collector base. They'd have to try and find a way to open the ward arms so the Crucible could attach.
To be continued...

Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Presley: Any signs of Geth activity?
Joker: Nope.
Presley: Can this day get any more boring?
*Collector Ship shoots the Normandy*
Barbie: (in the new Normandy hot tub) AAAAH! My rubber ducky!
Ashley: Everyone to the escape pods!
Barbie: I'll go get Joker! (runs upstairs) Oh hey! A new skylight! (sees floating chairs) Poke! (pokes a chair, watches it float). Hee hee! (starts poking more chairs) Poke! Poke! Poke!
Joker: Shepard! Are you getting in an escape pod or not?
Barbie: Poke! I'm coming to get you! Poke!
Joker: I'm not going. The captain goes down with the ship!
Barbie: You're not the captain! You're the pilot! I'm the captain! Poke!
Joker: You're right! See ya! (jumps in an escape pod and leaves)
Barbie: Hey wait a minute. I'm not a captain, I'm a commander!
*Normandy gets destroyed*
Barbie: SPAAAAAAAAAAACE!
Collector General: Is she dead?
Collector drone: (waking up with a snort) Uh yeah, totally! Totally dead!
Barbie: I can see my house from here! (squints) No wait, that's not my house. (squints again) That's not even my home planet. (sees another chair) Poke!
* * *
Wilson: We've recovered Shepard's body from the planet. It's still intact.
Miranda: Shepard's body fell into the planet? How is her body still intact?
Wilson: Did I say from the planet? I meant the planet's orbit.
Miranda: Well, was it on the planet or in the planet's orbit?
Wilson: I don't know, I didn't read the report.
Miranda: You're my assistant! That's part of your job!
Wilson: That wasn't in my job description!
Miranda: Yes it was!
Wilson: I didn't read my job description either.
* * *
*explosions*
Miranda: Wake up!
Barbie: (very sleepily) Shut up, I'm trying to get my beauty sleep.
Miranda: But that will take years!
Barbie: (leaping out of bed) WHAT DID YOU SAY!?!?!?!?
Miranda: Now that you're up, grab your weapon and armor from the locker. We're under attack!
* * *
Jacob: Shepard? Help me with these mechs and then let's get of here.
Barbie: Sure thing!
Jacob: Good. I'm a biotic, so just tell me when to hit 'em with the good stuff!
Barbie: Hit them with the good stuff!
Jacob: Okay! (pulls all mechs in quick succession)
Barbie: Did you really need me to tell you to do that? It seems like you didn't need me at all.
Wilson: (over the radio) Help! I'm getting shot by mechs!
Jacob: We need to hurry!
Barbie: We can't let the mechs shoot Wilson before we do!
Jacob: Wait, what?
Soon after...
Barbie: Come on, we need to get off this station!
Wilson: I'm not going anywhere until you fix my leg.
Barbie: Okay, hold on. This might hurt a little. (Wilson screams) No that didn't work. Let's try this. (Wilson screams again.) Maybe if I move it like this. (Wilson screams a third time.)
Jacob: There's a first aid station on the wall. Grab some medi-gel.
Wilson: Please?
Barbie: Okay got it. Hang on, this might hurt a lot. (stabs Wilson with a needle; Wilson screams) Whoops, I missed. Let's try that again. (stab, scream) Nope. Again. (another stab, another scream). Dammit!
Wilson: What is wrong with you!?
Barbie: It's been a while! I'm out of practice, okay! Just hold still, I think I got it this time. (stab, scream) No, I was wrong.
* * *
Wilson: Okay, we just need to get a shuttle and --- (door opens) Miranda!
*Miranda shoots Wilson*
Jacob: What the hell are you doing?
Barbie: Are you blind? She shot him! What did you think she was doing?
Miranda: He betrayed us all.
Barbie: Can we get off this station now?
Miranda: Yes. I'll take you to the Illusive Man.
Barbie: Cool! Shotgun!
Jacob: Dammit! I never get the front seat.
* * *
Illusive Man: Where is she?
Miranda: She's uh, still at the armor terminal.
Illusive Man: She's been there for the last hour. What is she doing?
Barbie: How about all pink with a white stripe? (changes color scheme) Oooh I like that! But I also liked the red. Maybe I should switch back to red. (changes color scheme) Yeah that looks good! But what about basic black? (changes color scheme) That's also good! Or maybe I should go blue with a red stripe...

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME3 conclusion: Citadel – The “Catalyst” Shepard staggered through this strange section of the Citadel – dark, full of human bodies and a couple of Keepers. She and Anderson had to try and find a way to open the ward arms. The Admiral was evidently somewhere ahead of her – he informed her over the radio that “one of the walls just realigned itself. “The place is shifting. Changing.”
She went through a door and entered a chasm, with a bridge across leading to another chamber that she couldn't quite see yet. The surroundings reminded her of parts of the Shadow Broker vessel. Very strange.
Anderson radioed that he'd found some sort of control panel, then lost contact. She continued towards the other room, seeing structures that looked like part of the exterior of the station from the final battle with Saren and Sovereign. What were they doing in here?
Anderson was in the next room, which bore a striking resemblance to TIM's office. Something very bizarre was happening.
As Shepard approached the control panel Anderson was working on, he suddenly seemed possessed, unable to continue. TIM appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, his face scarred and with what looked like Reaper implants showing. Shepard could hear a sort of rumbling sound, like a Reaper noise, but distorted. The periphery of her vision was affected by some sort of “oily shadows”, a constant whispering noise in her ears (or inside her head?). Just like in her strange dreams. This was very bad.
TIM resumed his “if we control the Reapers everything will be great blah blah blah” routine that Shepard had heard before.
Somehow, TIM was able to force Shepard to turn her gun on Anderson. It was obviously the Reapers' doing – the growling noise and oily shadows intensified every time TIM attempted to influence her. Anderson argued that the Reapers had to be destroyed, as Shepard tried to convince TIM that he'd gotten in way over his head.
TIM responded with a demonstration of the Reapers power – he forced Shepard to shoot Anderson, but the Admiral somehow remained on his feet. They continued to argue. Eventually, Shepard and Anderson were able to make TIM see the truth, that it was the Reapers that him under their control, and he'd played right into their hands. Realizing what he'd done, and what he'd become, TIM pointed a pistol at his own head and ended it.
Shepard went to the control panel and opened the ward arms so the Crucible could attach to the station. She sat with the wounded Admiral, who told her how proud he was of her. It was the last talk they'd ever have – Anderson succumbed to his wounds and died. Shepard herself was seriously hurt, but when Admiral Hackett radioed and told her the Crucible wasn't firing, she struggled to return to the console and investigate. She collapsed and passed out during the attempt.
She woke up in another strange place. There was someone else there – it looked like some sort of hologram of the boy she seen on Earth, the one who'd haunted her dreams. It claimed to be the “Catalyst”.
The “Catalyst” claimed that it had created the Reapers as the “solution” to a problem - that organic life would always create synthetic life, and that synthetic life would always rebel. It said that its “solution” wouldn't work anymore, thanks to Shepard's actions.
It proposed to use the Crucible to achieve “synthesis” between organic races and the Reapers, saying that this would end the conflict and save the galaxy, including the races of the current cycle. Somehow this could be achieved by “adding (Shepard's) energy to the Crucible's”, to create “a new framework, a new DNA”. It didn't make any sense to Shepard, but the “Catalyst” described it as “the ideal solution...it is inevitable that we will reach 'synthesis'”.
As an alternative, it stated that Shepard could take control of the Reapers, as TIM had proposed. She would die, and “lose everything you have”, but would somehow be able to watch over organics using the Reapers as guardians. The worst thing Shepard could do, according to the “Catalyst”, was destroy the Reapers, as this would continue the inevitable conflict between organics and synthetics which would doom the galaxy.
The entire conversation was strange and surreal, and Shepard had a hard time thinking straight. The “Catalyst's” comments about controlling the Reapers, however, had raised a red flag. Hadn't she just 10 minutes ago convinced TIM that anyone who thought they could control the Reapers was indoctrinated? And there was the claim that trying to destroy the Reapers would have dire consequences. She'd heard that before as well – from Saren, TIM, Dr Kenson. People who were indoctrinated. Shepard didn't believe the “Catalyst” wanted to help her, nor did she believe in the “solutions” it was offering. With her mind clearing, and renewed determination, Shepard decided that the Reapers had to be destroyed.
The mechanism to achieve that, apparently, was to shoot at a glass power conduit that was part of the Crucible. She didn't know how shooting a tube could do that, but the she remembered that at the Collector Base she'd destroyed the human proto-Reaper by, in part, destroying a series of glass tubes. Once again, everything that was happening seemed to be constructed from her memories.
She continued firing as the glass in the tube started to crack and shatter. She thought of her friends, Liara, and hoped she had done the right thing. The tube exploded, and everything went black. Epilogue - “Did that all really happen?” Shepard awoke surrounded by darkness. She was lying in a pile of rubble ... somewhere. The Citadel? She didn't know for sure.
She reflected on what had just happened. She was convinced that the “Catalyst” had actually been Harbinger, appearing in her head as someone from her recent past, like the Leviathans had done. It had spouted the same Reaper propaganda that she'd heard before – destroying the Reapers was wrong, “synthesis” would magically save the galaxy, the Reapers were the pinnacle of evolution, etc - only with a more positive “spin”. She realized that she was indebted to Saren, TIM, and Amanda Kenson – they'd been indoctrinated, but had fought, in their way, to the end. At a critical moment, they'd helped her see through the lies, reminding her of how the Reapers could corrupt your mind, make you turn against your own ideals and ethical principles.
She suspected that everything that had happened after being struck by the blast from Harbinger's gun had been inside her head, that she never went to the Citadel and that TIM and Anderson represented the indoctrinated part of her mind doing battle with her free will. Did any of it take place in the “real world”? It didn't really matter now.
She didn't know if she'd done the right thing, if the Reapers were actually destroyed, or if anyone was coming to save her. She might even be too far gone to save. If this was the end for her, it wasn't so bad, all things considered. She had made friends, fallen in love, and had some good times mixed in with all of the conflict and pain.
She had done the best she could. She hoped it was enough; if not, someone else would need to take over and carry on in her place.

I just noticed that there is a ring around the base of the geth spike poles and it pulsates with blue light. Kinda eerie seeing a whole bunch of them doing it in snyc.
(I cleared out the husk ship, which is where I noticed it.)
Found Wrex's family armor.
Shut down the rogue VI on Luna.
Back on the Citadel....
Ratted out Finch to the turian guard, then told him to get lost.
Told the reporter to get lost (first time - I think- for no interview).
Passed Adm. Cranky's inspection (no, I didn't tell him to get lost ).
Convinced the C-Sec officer to leave the hanar alone, then listened to his spiel on the Enkindlers.
Told Michael to get over himself and support Rebekah's decision on what to do about gene therapy.
Let Conrad take a picture.
Did some shopping.
So, I think I'm supposed to be doing something about Saren? Guess I'll head to Noveria next.

So yesterday William went to Illium, main motivation AR upgrades and there is just so much to do there he thought it better to get on with it. So Will arrived and was pleasantly surprised Liara had taken care of port fees etc. Will then headed straight to the bar and had several drinks with Tali and Garrus, listened to an Asari and Turian talk reltionships, need to ask Tali if she has the stimulation upgrade installed in her suit Spoke at length to the Asari matriarch (she really reminds of someone ) then wandered over and listened to salarian protesting that he wss being given a bucks party. Then off to see Liara, did a quest hacking terminals for her and eventually helped her discover her assistant was spying on her. Then headed off to recruit Thane which was fun (pushed the merc out the window for the first time ) but I really wish Tali would stop saying "Poop" in combat!!!!! Then headed off to recruit Samara, shot Elnora point blank my but concern is Will's renegade streak is starting to really show out. Took care of all the Eclipse merc's. and their gunship then took out Wasea and found the ship name for Samara. I really like the detective in this story, Annea I think it is. She is quite down to earth and a bit rough around the edges which is at odds with most Asari characters. Anyway stuffed and chose the wrong response to Anneaa and had to go back and do the final mission again so I could hand over the evidence to her for re Elnora and Pitne For. Also helped out a resident of Feros, got a message from The Rachni Queen which was kinda weird and helped an indentured servant (Quarian) get a better job to get out of debt. A few pic's Illium Recruited this guy and told Jacob to "Back Off" Met a Biotic God Samara takes her vows seriously

I just started my third time through Leviathan DLC, and this is the first time I've been in Bryson's bathroom. I was amused to see his stacks of reading material piled near the toilet. Then I stepped into the shower, where Shepard got soaked immediately. WTF

Had a weird bug happen on Noveria. After first speaking with Ventralis, you get attacked by 2 rachni, but only 1 appeared this time and I killed it. I couldn't interact with Ventralis since he was still in combat mode, so I went on my merry way to chat with various folks. When I came back, Ventralis was pissed that I didn't help during the attack!
So, this has always bothered me - you can't get back to where Ventralis or any of the scientists are once you head to the hot labs to deal with Benezia, and the back way through maintenance is also locked after you use it. So, once you set off the neutron purge, do they all die anyway? And, as I was typing this, I realize the answer is no, because you get an email from the volus in ME2.
Ok, now I feel better.
Let the rachni queen go. Ashley wasn't too happy about that but she's not the boss. Then back on the ship doing the rounds, I snapped at Kaidan to hopefully kill any semblance of romance this time. I got ninja'd last time so I don't want to take any chances!
Currently on asteroid X57 ruining all sorts of batarian plans. I made it to the main base but I'll do that tomorrow. I can never decide whether I'm going to let Balak go or detain/kill him instead. But, I realized as I was playing this time, Kate Bowman lets her own brother be shot rather than spill the beans on who's shutting down the torches. I think she'd rather Balak doesn't get away.
