SR1, the best Normandy It lacks a fish tank and, more importantly, a space hamster. And it's own shower. Who wants to shit and shower with the crew?

Nah, I actually meant the time they really appear out of nowhere right below you and instakill. Sure, after they appear, it's easy to avoid them doing this, but the first time, I had my troubles with suddenly appearing Maws. Interesting. Never happened to me. You're lucky. Happens to me all the time. It isn't always lethal though.

So William Shepard finished the main game today. Collected The Reaper IFF, did Legion's Heretic station mission (destroyed The Heretic's) and then watched CCTV of Joker and Edi taking control of The Normandy back from The Collectors. Was impressed with Joker for getting it done in his fragile form and also impressed with EDI's sense of humour. The the suicide mission, took care of The Occulus with Grunt and Legion then on to The Collector base. The new guns took down our old friend the collector ship and then after a bit of a bumpy ride we infiltrated The Collector base. Tali braved the vents for us and Kasumi and Jack helped William fight his way through. (They actually are quite an effective pairing) Then William gave Garrus charge of the other fire team and Jack took charge of shielding us through the Seeker Swarms. Got to a choke point and put Garrus in charge again and sent Mordin back with the surviving crew members and then left to find where to place the bomb to blow the whole damn thing up. William took Tali and Kasumi with him and we discovered the Collectors/Reapers were building a "Proto-Reaper" in the form of a human. Shot lots of Collectors then blew the supports holding the Proto-Reaper up but the damn thing was semi-sentient already and we were forced to shoot the thing till it fell into The Pit of Despair". Then told TIM no way was he getting the Collector Base and blew the thing to pieces of which all the crew seemed supportive. William was rightly proud of himself and the crew and told TIM it was now Shepard's show and that TIM could join or get out of the way. The work however never stops, next to help Liara with The Shadow Broker and then to help rescue Admiral Hackett's friend Amanda Kenson. Pic's Shepard and Tali finally make it happen Here we go And here we are Jack getting the job done Jazz Hands Sorry TIM "No Deal"

Whenever I start Trilogies run, something inside me always says "please, finish ME1 fast so we can go to ME2." I'm looking forward to it. Gonna install some mods as well. Heard there was this ALOT mod for the second and third game too.

Executor Pallin, head of C-Sec
I don't know if after the Battle of the Citadel everyone just went "screw it" with corruption and had everyone that was necessary on board. I mean, look at Bailey. He isn't an example of a non-corrupt C-Sec Officer.
The irony is that Pallin was framed a few years later and got taken down by the exact guy that wasn't the role model on the fight against corruption.
A little bit of scenario
Ashley has some balls
Avina, the VI.
I noticed that there are some lines that would make good memes. I'm starting a trend here.

Let's see if I can remember what I did yesterday besides planet scanning.
Went to recruit (or at least milk for information) a krogan warlord
but he died and I ended up with this instead:
Haven't let him out of the tank yet.
Visited Zaeed in the cargo hold
Did his loyalty mission asap so I could keep him loyal while saving the workers. While there, found some old friends:
Finally made it to the Citadel. I encountered a bug there for the first time. For whatever reason, the scanners didn't register me the first time I entered and so when I went to use the transit system, everything was greyed out - couldn't get to the Presidium. I thought maybe it was because I hadn't talked with Bailey yet but nope, still wouldn't work after talking with him. Only when I went back out to the docking area did the scan register, and then I could use the transit system.
It's also amusing that the clerk at the door is harassing that turian about turning over biotic amps he doesn't even have but doesn't even mention it to Shepard, who is packing more weapons than some armies. Avina's updated interactions are also interesting for a Citadel where the Council died in ME1.
Met with Anderson, who reinstated my Spectre status. Was fun seeing Anderson tell Udina to mind his own business.
Recruited Kasumi but didn't feel like doing her mission yet so left it for later.
Did some shopping while there, got discounts at all the shops, using both P/R depending on the place. Also bought some fishies (which are still alive!) and Hammy the Space Hamster:
Told the krogan there were no fish in the Presidium lakes. I'm gonna try to save the quarian not-a-thief quest until I can bring Tali with me. I don't think I've ever waited that long before.
I finished all the Firewalker missions - made it out of the volcano on the first try! - and only needed one reload on the geth planet (acid trip!). Got this for my trouble:
I'm also working on the corrupted VIs. Only have the factory left to do. I really like these multi-step side missions. At some point I'll go get Jack. Been putting it off 'cause I don't want to do Horizon yet. Although, at least with no romance, the encounter with Kaidan won't be quite so harsh.

john eric shepard - 3S - no reload (I try ) So... left the citadel, headed to the attican traverse. Have to train my team, gather resources and equipment. Lot of mako, lot of solitary bases, lot of scum to kill. Some great fights with garrus and wrex. Some of of them were long, tactical, dangerous. Nassana's sister and tonn actus were hard to kill. Really long fights. Helena blake fought quite bravely, too. Elanos Haliat, on the other hand, was slaughtered without particular problems. Cerberus biotics almost killed me. They were so close. Immunity saved my life. catching breath after the longest fight, the one against nassana's sisterwrex telling me about his family armor. What a badassmy favourite planet, Agebinium.Companions evaluation.Wrex: 9/10. An irremovable rock, reliable, always standing, his biotic skills have often been decisive. Promoted Garrus: 6-/10. Excellent technological skills, but he was knock down too often. Too fragile, especially until level 17/18. If there had not been wrex, I would have died. A partial disappointment. Reached level 21. I feel ready to go to therum. Kaidan will take the place of garrus, at least of this mission. Wrex is confirmed.

Played some more Barbara "Barbie" Shepard today, but not as much as I wanted.
Also ran into a weird glitch I have never had before (and not supposed to have). Basically, after Horizon, once you have 8 squadmates and get 5 mission complete screens, you are supposed to get forced into investigating the Disabled Collector Ship. There are some ways around this of course: you can play more than 5 missions if you do not have 8 squadmates, or you can play Miranda's loyalty mission as mission 5 then recruit Thane/Samara since you are still on Illium.
However, the game let me play 6 secondary missions before forcing me to the Disabled Collector Ship (I stopped before playing it). I played 2 N7 missions, 2 Firewalker missions, and the Normandy Crash Site, then I was surprised when I could still use the galaxy map. I played one more short N7 mission then it triggered the DCS. Weird.

IMO, it's a good idea to always leave one tech expert member on the team because of random loot that can come up while decrypting Crashed Probes or even weapons locker. It's funny you said Garrus was a bit disappointed, because he always ends up saving my ass, but Kaidan's Biotic Skill do come in handy, especially when being overwhelmed with Husks or that Geth Juggernaut that charges you. All in all, keep up with the good work and good luck!

my favorite planet, Agebinium. It's nice but my favorite is Magi. The red and blue suns on the sky just make it look amazing. I have to admit that the planets (as a whole, rather than individual sections) of ME1 are superior to those in ME2 and ME3. A bit barren but often good looking.

Especially with Shep's line of dialogue "The Illusive Man can fire me if he doesn't like it", even if you've gone rogue by destroying the Collector Base.

I actually like to do Overlord because of what I might see in ME3. It's worth it. I just wouldn't do it after the SM. It's too long and I would already have Arrival to do (which I also find a bit lengthy). Arrival isn't necessarily a favored story for me but is such a good lead-in to ME3 that I can't not do it.

The Relay Monument. All of my squadmates commented about it and their significant importance, except for Kaidan, who kept complaining about a low hum coming from the statue (Talk about foreshadowing, haha)
Garrus Vakarian, C-Sec Officer
The Citadel Council: Sparatus, Tevos and Valern.
Anderson steps down on the investigation
(Jenkins is rolling in his grave right now: "What did I tell you about the Spectres, Doc?")
And once again, another line for a meme:

Horizon doesn't trigger until after you've recruited Jack, Garrus, and Mordin, and at least done the Korlus mission - you don't need to open the tank first. If you got it before then, you must have been using a mod or had a glitch.
Same with the Collector ship. I've deliberately left Grunt in the tank to keep from having 8 squad mates so I could do whatever I wanted (other than recruit more) before getting that mission. Then as soon as I open the tank, it triggers.
It's a bit too structured for me - I'm glad to get those two hurdles out of the way so I can play the rest of the game however I like. I usually do everything except Arrival before the SM, then I turn down the difficulty for the DLC since I hate Kenson so much and want to be rid of her asap.

For only the second time (I think?) I managed to salvage all 20 crates. Cain to the rescue!
Creepy stuff on Horizon
I have my sound effects turned up a little bit higher than they've been before - the pods actually make squishy sounds.
I recuited Tali (Reegar survived even though I didn't take the P route) then headed to Ilium. Did some small side quest stuff and now chasing an assassin.
I made it to the bridge but will have to finish tomorrow. Almost time for bed now.

Chorban asks us to scan the Keepers to learn more about their enigmatic nature (Looking back to this quest, I thought it had the potential to do something more, like random C-Sec Officers asking you what you were doing and something like that, and it could include moments of "shove off, I'm a Spectre"(If this quest is done after acquiring the status), just like ME2 did.
You humans turians are all racist!
Barla Von, agent for the Shadow Broker
Cut content from ME2 about this:
Krogan Statue on the Presidium, in honor of their roles on the Rachni Wars. It's interesting to see how Avina describes their defeat to Turians only, never mentioning the Salarians at all. Also, there were various protests to remove this statue, but the Council eventually declined, recognizing the Krogan's role. Interesting to see that, maybe, if the Krogan hadn't rebelled, they would've become the 4th Council Race.
Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones
I was messing around the Consort's office and noticed that this Asari attendant looked at you when prompted. So, I took out my sniper rifle in a silly attempt at humour.
And why do you sound exactly like me?
Also, some pretty awesome HD details included in the MEUITM Mod. You can see more clearly the Hanar glowing when they talk.

This is explained in the Citadel DLC in ME3 when the team is fighting in the Citadel Archives. The salarians did create the genophage but really didn't want to use it. The turians were the ones who deployed it since their worlds were apparently being hit the hardest. "Fixing" the genophage as done by Mordin and members of his STG team was something done in secret so no one would ever bring it up.

Owen Shepard: Went looking for Fade, who had supposedly helped Sidonis go into hiding. Captain Bailey put us on his trail and we were off, with Zaeed tagging along. Fade turned out to be Harkin, a disgraced human C-Sec officer I'd encountered a couple of years back. He'd got from being a lazy drunk to full-fledged criminal. The chase was on. Harkin threw a lot of Blue Suns and a few LOKI mechs. Finally, he decided to send two YMIR mechs after us. We'd faced worse odds than this before but it showed his desperation. Once those mechs were out of the way, it was time to confront Harkin himself. He was a coward at heart and was sure to give us the information on how to find Sidonis once sufficient pressure was provided. I did stop Garrus from really harming him. It was different with Dr. Heart, who had been hurting innocents. This was smuggling, which still wasn't good but not worth Garrus suffering guilt. Besides, C-Sec would now be able to track him down. The problem I was now having had nothing to do with bringing Sidonis. No, I was worried about what it might do to Garrus. Having him arrested was one thing. Assassinating him from a distance was something else entirely. It moved from justice to vengeance. Sure, his men died because of Sidonis betraying him but my entire home world was decimated by batarians. I didn't give into my hatred, even after having the power to hunt them down. That gives them the power to control me and I won't give them that satisfaction. Fortunately, I had some control over the situation. I was to occupy Sidonis while Garrus set up his shot. What I'd found wasn't a hardened criminal but a coward who had saved his own life at the expense of others. He was consumed by guilt and that was tearing him apart. I was able to get Garrus to back down. Courts couldn't help here since the crime happened on Omega but he was a shadow of a man now. Garrus wasn't entirely happy with how things turned out but I knew in the end that he would be thankful I kept him becoming a murderer. Now it was time to help out Thane. Again, Captain Baily had information since drell were uncommon on the Citadel. We had to talk to someone called Mouse, who had grown up on the Citadel, an orphan, surviving by petty theft and living in ducts. He was still engaged in low level criminal activity but it was likely all he knew. [To be continued...]

Garrus: 6-/10. All in all, keep up with the good work and good luck! against enemies like tonn actus, helena blake etc, my (super cautious) tactics was to take cover behind the entrance door and slowly take them down one by one. Usually they never charge, and when they did, Wrex pull/stasis + my carnage was enough. But during the long shooting, Garrus was knocked down a quite often, making him almost usless (and a waste of medi-gel). He had good moments, anyway. In any case, Tali or Kaidan would have had the same problem, perhaps worse... Garrus can wear good/medium armors, at least. And Ash has no useful abilities. So I've kept the good old garrus with me all the time Kaidan on therum will be an experiment, let's see if there is a significant difference...

Thing is, I just found it odd, since it was (IIRC) public knowledge that the Turians along with the Salarians defeated the Krogan, with the genophage. Even Wrex says that while on Virmire. The fact that Avina just tells you it were the Turians was a fact that was pretty strange, especially if one does know galactic history.
