Having Garrus be the one to run the trace makes perfect sense, him being C-Sec and all. Not so much if Kaidan or someone else does, which is usually the case for me.

I really hope this guy gets his refund soon.
More foreshadowing!
This guy seems nice... Wants an autograph and will show it to his wife
Fighting Fist...
...Threatening Fist
But he died anyways.
This quarian was set up. Fist said he arranged a meeting with the Shadow Broker himself.

I know you don't know me. I'm the daughter of Admiral Rael'Zorah, and I've run into trouble on my Pilgrimage. I was investigating a disabled geth and found a recording that seems to indicate that a Spectre named Saren is working with the geth. He's betrayed the Council and is working for some group called the Reapers.
I'm on the Citadel now, but Saren's people are after me. This is too big for me to deal with. I'm willing to offer you the information in exchange for protection. Are you interested?

I'm interested, and you were smart to come to me. I have an enforcer on the Citadel named Fist. He can protect you. Give him the information and let him get you someplace safe. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

No deal. Saren has turned too many people against me. If we're doing this, I want to meet you in person. I can't trust anybody else. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Understood. I'll meet you in person. Fist will set it up. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I'm forwarding you the intel on a quarian named Tali'Zorah. She wants a meeting, and she's got valuable intel. Get her someplace safe, and avoid any intelligence channels. Spectre Saren Arterius is after her.
When you get the intel, kill the quarian and any of our operatives who had access to the data. This information cannot be compromised. Top-level security. You'll be compensated for the loss of any of your people.

Your agent was compromised. He tried to sell me out to Saren. I've turned the information over to a human Alliance commander named Shepard, and I think I've got all the protection I need. Thank you for your offer, and I hope this does not affect any future exchanges.

Of course. I apologize for Fist's behavior. Should you ever change your mind, I'd be more than happy to offer my personal protection. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Talking about Alenko's decision to not switch to L3 Implants. Illustrating why he's not the whiny guy some people claim him to be. He's the guy who gets these massive migraines and keeps going no matter what. He's also one of the more powerful non-asari biotics out there.

This is an issue that is decided by you (convincing the Store clerk to give him the 6 credits refund or telling the guy that wants the refund to back off) on ME3. So, I'll still meet him many times before finally interrupting, but he gottta wait!

So time has been a bit short this week with school holidays in Australia and my pesky ones chewing up my valuable gaming time - just as well they are such good kids Anyway William caught up with Liara and gave her the intel Cerberus had provided him on the whereabouts of The Shadow Broker. So off to Hagalaz (SP?) they went. This DLC is great, I really like it but it always ends up feeling shorter than I expect it to be. So Legion and Liara and William dropped onto the Shadow Brokers impressive spaceship and as they surfed the hull of the ship, the ship surfed the planets weather front. William and the squad had little trouble dealing with the merc's and mech's and made good use of the Lightening Capacitors to thin the ranks of attackers. Once inside they put down more Merc's and found Feron and I think Will may have enjoyed asking him questions whilst he was incarcerated. William shut down the power to free Feron and then on to find The Shadow Broker. I still remember how impressed I was with the shadow brokers character the first time I played ME2 and he is an impressive specimen to say the least. The first time I did this battle I found it really difficult but its one of those ones that once you know the routine, to me it gets easier every time. In this instance William took him down (whilst Legion had a snooze) pretty easily with some tactical assistance from Liara. Afterwards William fully supported Liara's decision to become the shadow broker, made some bets on political outcomes, read some interesting personal stuff on his crew and associates, re-spec'd a couple of team mates for the hell of it and then met Liara back on The Normandy. Somehow for that scene my dead fish had been reanimated. Some pic's: Just die already will you, annoying enemy and annoying combat mechanics in this battle Nice ship Taking a walk on the wild side There's just something really off putting about that mouth Oooops made him angry Time to die Thanks for finding my dog tags "Blue Eyes"

Owen Shepard: Went to talk to Mouse who might be able to give us a lead on Thane's son. Turns out Thane had used him and others as spies when they were children. I don't dislike Krios, despite his career, but he was putting innocents in danger. In any case, I assured Mouse no one would know he'd talked to us and he put us on the trail of Elias Kelham. Trust me, Mouse. No one in the very public space will ever know you talked to us. Convinced Bailey to bring Kelham in so we could interrogate him. We played good cop/bad cop and boy was I happy to be the bad cop. Every time he thought he was untouchable I punched him in the face. Finally, I pinned his throat down and he talked before passing out. He had hired Thane's son to assassinate someone and we got the name of the would-be victim. This asshole thought he could get away without talking. He learned otherwise. The target with Joram Talid, a turian politician promising to end crime in the Wards, mixing in some anti-human propaganda along the way. I saw him talking with turians, salarians and krogan, though he did pass right on by that hanar. Then I saw his krogan bodyguard do a shakedown of a human shopkeeper. A human bartender got the same treatment. Politics aside, he was obviously a criminal himself. Finally caught sight of Thane's son. He drew a gun on Talid and followed him into the turian's apartment. We followed, with C-Sec right behind us. I was able to disarm the boy before he harmed Talid. Mind you, I wouldn't have minded a bullet in that asshole's head but I doubt we could cover up a murder. Thane and Kolyat talked. Kolyat was angry, something Thane understood. He said he wasn't there to make peace with himself before he died but to grant Kolyat that peace before it was too late. Thane told me that it wasn't going to be easy but they were talking. Bailey managed to cover up everything, giving him community service for attempted murder. I have to admit I liked this mission. It was the kind that made me feel good when it was over. [OK, weird glitch. Back on the Normandy I talked to Thane. Then got an extreme closeup and found I couldn't move, talk or even see anything but the top half of Thane's head.]

Putting Udina on his place (He ends up apologizing afterwards. I just beat ME, I made Udina apologize)
Tali. Tali'Zorah nar Rayya
The truth comes out, found on a geth patrol that Tali encountered on a snowy world.
Things start to make sense now
Tali joins the crew
Mr.Bhatia requests that his wife's body, killed on Eden Prime during the Geth attack be returned to him. She served the 212, the same unit Ashley was.
The body is being held by Mr.Bosker. He is trying to explain that the body may be an useful tool in the fight against the Geth.
This quest outcome had a news report in ME2, but it was cut

Finally made it to the Citadel. I encountered a bug there for the first time. For whatever reason, the scanners didn't register me the first time I entered and so when I went to use the transit system, everything was greyed out - couldn't get to the Presidium. I thought maybe it was because I hadn't talked with Bailey yet but nope, still wouldn't work after talking with him. Only when I went back out to the docking area did the scan register, and then I could use the transit system.
I think this issue has something to do with being able to go to the Presidium before going through those scans. (I wouldn't say cut content, since it's still there, in the game. You have to edit the Booleans, I think.) Here's what happens if you've gone through the Presidium first and then tried to go through the scans: This also reveals that Chellick became the Executor, since Pallin died. But since this dialogue doesn't trigger under normal circunstances, it's considered non-Canon, and thus, all of the events of ME:Inquisition happened.

Finished up in Dantius Towers and found Thane.
He agreed to help Shepard take on the Collectors since he's dying anyway. Seemed right up his alley.
Next up was helping Miranda with her sister issue. Got that taken care of - didn't stop her from shooting Niket, also didn't press her on talking to Oriana.
Checked in with Liara after revealing Nyxeris to be "The Observer." The code name reminds me of a Qunari operative.
Conrad Verner is apparently helping people evacuate or some such thing - heard it over the loudspeaker. Also listened in on the bachelor party - haven't done that before. I guess I just figured it would trigger by proximity like the other stuff does. Lastly, helped an "indentured" quarian get a job - waited on that one until I had Tali in the party.
I was planning on heading right into recruiting Samara but now I'm worried my fish might not survive if I don't go back to the ship first. I have 5 missions done since Horizon so if I go back I'll get hijacked into hitting the Collector ship.
I'm also now torn on who to romance this time around. I was planning on Garrus all the way but recruiting Thane always makes me . Don't think I want that heartbreak in 3 though - it's bad enough just as a friend.

So today William killed 300,000+ Batarians, why let me tell you a story, about a lovely lady who was indoctrinated!!!!! Anyway Shepard headed off to rescue Amanda Kenson from the Batarians for Admiral Hackett. Getting in was straight forward and Shepard soon found her and proceeded to get her out, again without any dramas. She offered to take Shepard to the base where the object proving the Reapers were coming was, William was pretty sure there was something a "bit off" with Kenson but went a long for the ride. Arriving at the base, things just felt wrong and when Kenso showed him the device and that it wasn't shielded William knew that things were about to turn bad. Anyway he fought through a heap of soldiers and a heavy mech but in the end got taken down by the artefact itself. When William awoke he busted himself out of medical by hacking a mech and then went on a killing spree. Kenson was rigging the reactor to overload so Shepard set about reactivating the cooling systems, one down and then my daughter sneezed and that apparently is a vocal command that makes Arrival freeze your PC. Seriously the synch with my daughter sneezing and the game freezing my whole PC could not have been choreographed better!!!!! Anywa a feew hrs later when I had the chance to play again I had to redo the first cooling system and then kill my way through guards again. Note: I didn't notice it too much in the main game but there are a lot of shitty things in this DLC. Flame throwers that do damage even when you are in cover that they couldn't possibly touch you. I am not sure the designers know how a Flashbang works, I was getting blinded even when I had moved into a different room, behind cover and facing the other way. Anyway William finally confronted Kenson and shot her without hesitation, when he came to he made a beeline for the comm's tower but of course there were more guards to kill and of course another heavy mech. That done off to the tower to call the Normandy however Harbinger got on the blower first and told William what a useless gnat he ws and that'd he'd be dead soon regardless of blowing up the Alpha Relay. William wished Joker was there so he could hang up on Harbinger but instead he told him humans: "shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"So ME2, I started this game with real enthusiasm and enjoyment but by the end I felt a bit worn down. It has some really good parts and some bad parts and yeah it sets ME3 up in terms of squad mates having history, but by the end I was glad for it to be finished. Especially Arrival, other than the Harbinger scene it doesn't really do anything for me. So currently installing ME3 and looking forward to it, more so because then I will play MEA again. So some pics: Should have left you there Ooops forgot to warn the bad guys we were taking off Yep you are an indoctrinated nut job Nice view for now Yeah, yeah, we get it we are all going to die Bang Thanks for the mission Hackett!!!!

john eric shepard - 3S - no reload (I try )So, went to Therum with Wrex and Kaidan. No problem at all, the krogan leader fell quickly and Liara was rescued. Kaidan was reliable but nothing exceptional. Garrus reinstated. After that, some other subquests. Killed Doctor Hearth. Meet Toombs and let him have his revenge. Great moment. Peacefully solved the mess with Kyle. For once, it was good not to shoot anyone Than probably the most boring quest of all time: Armstrong Nebula geth invasion. Brought Tali and Liara with me, so if they are asked "so, you were with shepard?!? So cool!!! What have you done? Tell us some adventures!", instead of saying " ehm, I spent almost all the time in a storage room", they'll have something to tell. " I exterminated a geth invasion force with the commander and secured an entire system!". Wow! They did good, anyway. They could be reconfirmed for some other mission. After that, a relaxing visit to the citadel. Interviewed by Al-Jilani. My Shepard (as many talented men) is very vain, so he was flattered and he behaved kindly and politely Next destination: Feros.

Owen Shepard: Landed on Aite to investigate Project Overlord. Another Cerberus experiment gone bad. Supposedly a VI went rogue. Sounds suspiciously like what I dealt with on Luna two years ago. I can't help but wonder if Cerberus either recreated that VI or were behind it in the first place. Either way, they paid the price. Another dumb Cerberus project gone bad. There was a dish antennae that needed to be taken down because the VI was trying to upload itself off-world. Just like the virus had done that infected all the mechs. Strangely, something that I assumed was the VI, appeared on the screen. It was saying something that sounded a lot like "Please make it stop". That was disconcerting. There had to be more go on and I was beginning to doubt this was a simple VI. It kept repeating that line over and over. Another VI was saying that geth activity but that wasn't what I was encountering now. I did start running into geth. They were trying to prevent me from getting to the antennae controls. The controls themselves were disabled. That made the only option to destroy. After killing a lot more geth we were able to do just that. Then we found Dr. Gavin Archer. He told us there was an attempt to gain influence over the geth but merging them with a human mind. That might explain some things. It was a human mind that was speaking to me through the screens. Worse, the human was Archer's brother and there was every possibility that I'd have to kill him. Aite looks like a nice planet other than that it's trying to kill me. The Hammerhead VI was telling me about aesthetically pleasing views. There were also space cows. I remember a herd of of them stealing credits from me. I wonder if these ones were thieves, too. One good thing about the Hammerhead is that it's self-repairing. Wish the Mako had these protocols. Got a few of the stations shut down to keep the VI from spreading. What really sucks is when they make a station out of a geth ship. Things are bound to go wrong. Made it into the geth ship aka Prometheus Station. When the first thing you see is a geth prime in stasis you just know things are going to go bad. [ME2 crashed on me and I had to reboot. Can I tell you how grateful I am that Firefox saved everything I wrote so I don't have to try and figure it out again?]

[ME2 crashed on me and I had to reboot. Can I tell you how grateful I am that Firefox saved everything I wrote so I don't have to try and figure it out again?] There is also a setting on the forum to save drafts as you go. Doesn't always work if the site is wonky but most of the time it's fine.

I haven't spoken with her at all this PT.
So, I left off yesterday at the cab call station to start Samara's recruitment mission. When I loaded up the game today, first thing I saw was this close-up of Garrus.
Everybody's favorite volus
My fishies! I only have 2 kinds so far - need to get more next trip to the Citadel.
After getting back from the Collector ship and telling off TIM for the set up, I went around and gathered the rest of the loyalty missions. I've only done 2 so far - Zaeed and Miranda - so I've got a lot to do now! First planet I scanned turned out to be the broken mech hangout. I inserted the first power cell and his gun started going off and his head exploded. He went the rest of the way with no head. I laughed.

I was doing OK, made sure I checked in on them after every mission and sometimes before as well but then forgot about them for a couple of missions and Uh Oh dead fish Anyway I imported my ME2 save and then Gibbed it so the fish will resurrect

Played some more Barbara "Barbie" Shepard today, but not as much as I wanted. Also ran into a weird glitch I have never had before (and not supposed to have). Basically, after Horizon, once you have 8 squadmates and get 5 mission complete screens, you are supposed to get forced into investigating the Disabled Collector Ship. There are some ways around this of course: you can play more than 5 missions if you do not have 8 squadmates, or you can play Miranda's loyalty mission as mission 5 then recruit Thane/Samara since you are still on Illium. However, the game let me play 6 secondary missions before forcing me to the Disabled Collector Ship (I stopped before playing it). I played 2 N7 missions, 2 Firewalker missions, and the Normandy Crash Site, then I was surprised when I could still use the galaxy map. I played one more short N7 mission then it triggered the DCS. Weird. Normandy Crash Site bug? As I understand it, going or returning to the crash site will give a mission complete screen, and unlock another loyalty mission, but will not update the Collector Ship mission counter. I've exploited it a couple of times to get Samara's loyalty before the Collector Ship (so she has reave), where I wouldn't have been able to otherwise.
