And this "Lost Module" quest isn't making my day better. I kept scanning the monkeys (even the ones inside the mine) but still couldn't find the probe. Makes me want to just... shoot some simians. The monkey with the module was hidden behind some stuff in the deepest part of the mine for me (it was stuck really). It worked. Thanks. But seriously though... Tali is WAY too excited. "HE DROPPED THE DATA MODULE! OMG!"

I did the main quest on Feros and for the first time ever I was able to save all 16 colonist! Made my colonist Shepard very proud of himself. One thing I really like about ME1 is how the backstory you have chosen for your Shepard gets mentioned every now and then. I clicked on a random colonist and he mentioned Torfan. That was cool. I saved them all as well. I will say it was the easiest I've done it. I usually have to use a couple of grenades in couple of spots, but in the playthrough I didn't have that problem.

Not sure why but this patch is taking for ever as it is only downloading at less than 20% of my down load speed? Whole game downloaded in less time.

I did some stuff in ME2. Like gathering lots of platinum so I could upgrade med-bay and remove the Terminator cybernetics from my Shepard's face. She's much prettier now. I recruited Archangel, aka my old buddy Garrus. Then went and visited the old Normandy resting place, picking up forgotten dog tags and an old N7 helmet. Oh and plant an ugly monument. Then I went to the Citadel. The Council gave me back my Specter status and told me to stick to the Terminus system. Good Old Council. I also went on a shopping spree. Bought fishies, a space hamster and gear. Also, the renegade discount request are hilarious...in mean in one case. I recruited Kasumi and did her mission to get the Locust ASAP. Now my little engineer pack a punch with her new little SMG...that was used to murder two presidents. Then I picked-up the Firewalker and did Zaeed's mission, where we saved the workers from the stupid fire Zaeed's started (my Renegade took lots of Paragon there). I also went dancing at the Black Star. Garrus and Miranda didn't approve.

Dani Shepard (Soldier) in ME1 LE: 1. Helped Wrex get his family armor.
2. Found the dead body of Garoth's brother. Garoth will want to know what happened. Also, survived a Geth ambush; the Geth did not.
3. Tried to arrest Helena Blake. She resisted arrest. Killed Helena and the rest of her gang.
Then I switched to Julie Shepard (Engineer). Raced through the early parts of the Citadel to become a Spectre. Reloaded Dani Shepard. I did this as the workaround people have been sharing to get the Spectre Weapons to pop back in. Not sure if I will have to do this every time. Maybe I will have to end creating a throwaway Shepard for this very purpose.
Anyway, switched back to Dani Shepard and did some shopping. Got some Spectre VII weapons for her and the squad, some armor for Tali (and Garrus but it turns out I already gave him better armor earlier), and a good Savant amp for Liara. Also picked up a Geth Pulse Rifle IX for testing as well. I tried out the new weapons on a Citadel wall. Overkill did not actually reduce heat by 100% as advertised? Will need more testing...

Man, I hate ME2's planet-scanning so much. It's THE major blemish on the series for me. Gibbed's save editor assured that I no longer had to endure that BS. I really hope they've eased the grind in MELE. I dread that shit derailing my fun. I started a new game of Mass Effect for the first time in years! I played the trilogy on Xbox360. While the 360 still works, it is decidedly horrific on a high end, modern TV. I had no desire to recalibrate a freaking input channel just to run the 360. It's great to finally be playing my favorite series again. I'm still on the Citadel, freshly made a SPECTRE, but so far LE looks really impressive. The gunplay has been inproved so dramatically. I remember ME1 Insanity being tough with a level one character. Now that shooting accurately is an actual option, it's super easy. In all my many dozens of playthroughs of ME1, I'd never played a Sentinel. Being total shit with guns just wasn't worth it. Now that penalties are removed and basic proficiency is a given, I decided to finally play a Sentinel. Already, even at low levels on the Citadel, its breadth of abilities has trophies piling up around me. I'm hoping those trophies unlock bonus skills for subsequent save files as they did with the OT. I created Sadiya Shepard, Colonist-War Hero-Sentinel. I plan to play her through the full trilogy as a Sentinel, but we'll see. Sometimes a change is needed to scratch an itch. If this PT unlocks Singularity as a bonus skill (by way of Liara) and Hacking (by way of Tali), I'll be able to play one of the Big Boy classes for John Shepard on my next trilogy run. Infiltrator+Hacking and Vanguard+Singularity are my preferred ME1 playstyles. The combo-classes get all the goodies with no drawbacks, assuming bonus skills are still a thing. We'll see. Anyway, that's well down the road. For now, Sadiya just recruited three non-humans, got the Council on board and became the first human SPECTRE. A long journey lies ahead. I'll complete all the Citadel quests both for the fun and for those delicious XP, and then we're off to explore the Milky Way. I've missed proper Mass Effect, with Asari and Turians that look cool and unique; with the Milky Way and that near-future frontier vibe; etc... It's great to be playing again.

I guess I'm the only one who likes ME2 planet scanning. The only annoying part is that 30 probes is way too low and I have to run back to the depot to buy more all the time.

I guess I'm the only one who likes ME2 planet scanning. I remember it being okay, maybe not my favorite thing in the game, but definitely not the worst either. But then again I remember having the system of taking a quick peak at the planet, see if it had any high spikes, probe them and then move on. Never had the need to probe every inch of any planet. --- Got MELE but haven't been playing it much since it stutters on my potato and too lazy to try and find what the problem is. Have just been enjoying the revitalization of the Share Your Shepard thread instead.

What I did is scan all the systems that had a fuel depot. It cut down time from traveling back and forth. The other is I made sure I was fully stocked with probes when going to a system, one that had a mission to be completed, that didn't have fuel depot. Doing that, I didn't have to travel back to the depot to reload.

Damn it. I'd forgotten that we also had to buy those damn probes. Salt in the wound. 😆
It always annoyed me that Cerberus had the cash for Lazarus, Overlord, the SR2, and a number of other things, but couldn't supply a few materials or properly stock my armory. At least we know in hindsight that they were busy building their Imperial Fleet.

Yesterday I took out the geth in the Armstrong Nebula and gave Tali the geth data. Also went to Noveria and killed the rachni queen. Only time my renegon Shepard truly felt like a bitch. I have everything wrapped up and ready to head to Ilos now. Looking forward to see what MELE has in store for ME2, I know it won't have as many changes that ME1 had but I am still looking forward to it.

lol Posted this in the wrong thread (Share your Shepard thread). My mistake. Deleted the other post.
Repost: Killed a cow for stealing two credits. Nobody steals from Femshep.
Also might have also saved the entire colony of Feros. For a Renegade, my Femshep's awfully kind.
I also brought Ashley along for the Depot Sigma-23 assignment, the one where you fight Rachni aboard a derelict ship; also the one where your squadmate identifies "Cerberus" by name for the first time... That's why I brought her along, so her resentment towards Cerberus makes more sense in ME2. She literally says "Cerberus" by name in the assignment. lol
Guess I'm almost near the end. Phew. Finally. Come on, ME2! Dying of anticipation here. I like ME1, but ME2's always been my preferred instalment (then ME3).
Edit: Also in the middle of Geth Incursions right now. This marks the third and final companion quest (helped Wrex get back his armor and encouraged Garrus to kill Saleon).
About the Garrus decision... Yeah, I thought about it. Along with UNC: The Negotiation (refused Darius' request because he wanted to force workers to mine drugs for him, so I was forced to kill him), I think this is appropriate for my Femshep's level of Renegade, killing when forced to or if she sees no other safer alternatives (letting Saleon go would cause more casualties). Good thing I still get to make some Renegade decisions in my Renegade run...

It never really bothered me that much and sometimes I like reading the info that pops up on each planet. The trick is to do a bit of scanning in between missions to keep resources up. That way it never becomes a chore.

I find collecting Asari Writings/Salarian Medals/Rare Metals just as boring in ME1. The difference is, at least you could use a map guide to find where all the nodes and artifacts are without needing to comb every part of the planet. Plus, you get to do a little sightseeing. Plus, every single planet you land on has a special assignment that you get to do, most of which can be quite interesting.
Not ME2, however.
Last but not least, it's only one planet per system; you don't have to comb every single planet in a single system. Sure, it takes longer to land on a planet and mine the metals yourself, but somehow, staring at a boring planet and scanning its surface SOMEHOW feels much longer and more boring than the metal-mining in ME1. They should've just made it more convenient by just letting us click "Survey" and acquire the metals.
And this is coming from an ME2 fan btw. I'm still looking forward to finally getting there, but I'd probably just Github that probing.

Went to Eletania and runned after the monkeys to get a probe. Then went to Feros, did all the assignments for the colony, got rid of the geth ship in the Exogeni HQ, retrieved Gavin Hossle data and returned to the Exogeni bunker. And i completely forgot that 12 points in charm was needed to convince Jeong to cooperate , i only had 10 so i had to kill him. Managed to save all the colonists and got the Cipher. But the Jeong situation was bothering me so i reloaded a save and decided to do Noveria first . So i travelled to the Horse Head Nebula, made Helena promised to dismantle her gang and found Garoth`s brother dead in a privateer base on planet Xawin. Next i went to Noveria, smuggled a package for Opold, helped Lorik Qui´in retrieve his files and convinced him to testify against Anoleis. Got the garage pass from Paragini and headed to Peak 15. Upseting a krogan by clicking several times in him : Ilnamorda: Beat it Ilnamorda: I said, beat it. Ilnamorda: Go find something else to do. Stupid mammal. IInamorda: If you don`t stop poking me, i`ll throw you off that balcony. And a commentary from Lorik Qui`in that always makes me smile: Shepard: I should let you go. Lorik Qui`in: "Let me go?" Do human consider conversation a form of imprisonment? That would explain why so few are willing to sit and talk...

Urgh so apparently the game has decided I am in a romance with Liara though I told her not interested. Knew I should have just gone with the Kaidan route and then virmired him. I wanted Garrus to have first crack at my MELE femshep. Oh well he will even if Liara gets butthurt about it. I even told her no after that first conversation with her. Maybe it triggered when I shut the Kaidan romance down.

So, I got hit with the spectre gear bug. Which is.. a silly bug if you ask me. But it's all good, was thinking about restarting anyway cause I wasn't feeling this Shepard very much. Kept playing until I unlocked singularity as bonus power, so now I can make a sentinel with that. Let's hope I don't forget to make a hard save just before becoming a spectre so I can fix the bug if it occurs again

" I will not be second guessed on my ship...by my ship" ~ Shepard ME2 has funny lines, a lot more then ME1. My Shepard went to recruit The Warlord. She ended up meeting with a certain Rana. An Asari who hanged out on Virmire when Shepard blew the place up 2 years ago. She ran away again after being told to do so. Miranda complained Shepard was doing too many favors. Then after some fighting against a crazy merc leader the "Warlord" ended up asking Shepard to take his tank breed Krogan along as his dying wish. Nobody on the ship wanted the tank to be opened. Shepard did it anyway and got Grunt as a crewmember now. It was like opening a surprise box! Shep also talked to the rest of the crew, but why are all conversation with Jacob sounding like I'm flirting with him. I need Liara back asap.

I guess I'm the only one who likes ME2 planet scanning. The only annoying part is that 30 probes is way too low and I have to run back to the depot to buy more all the time. Not the only one I find the scanning can be quite fun in a relaxin gkind of way especially in between the tougher missions in the game so for me I was kind of glad it was in there.
