In my haste to explain what I won't be doing with my first PT for ME 3 I forgot to explain what I was actually doing. As such I made it up to the bit where the game opens up and Shepard gains control of the Normandy. Considering I'm not sure what rushing through Priority Palavan will do for these conversations I also made sure to talk to Ash, James (be still Abby's beating heart), and get Chakwas back on the Normandy. -As I noted in the GD thread the game so far looks gorgeous and a lot clearer and I approve of a lot of what they did. Which again pretty much the only visual changes I overtly noticed in ME 2 were negative ones this one seems just a lot better. -OH SPEAKING OF WHICH. I am pretty sure they BRIGHTENED the Alliance SR-2 interiror. I am not entirely sure because I swear my eyes could be playing tricks on me and overall I think the SR-2 Cerberus interior is brighter and still just a tad better but I think I can see things clearly now. -I swear to God the Mars soundtrack is pretty much the only soundtrack in the game that just sticks out to me during gameplay and the mission consistently. Granted this may be something to keep an eye on because I think they might have also improved the audio loop but the whole time I was reading the datapads I was distracted because I was doing this: -I miss Abigail's ungoldy armaments already and I reallly miss the Valkyrie. Guardians can be so super annoying when you have nothing to deal with them other then shooting them through the slot...which I still landed four shots with them but still...ugh. Talon pistol with piercing mods is just devestating...on pretty much everything actually. -As a result of this I died 3 times before hitting the Illusive Room. -Something I will have to keep track of maybe for this playthrough but I did watch a YT video where the only way to get through to the Illusive Man at the end is if you are consistent in your Intimidate and Charm options in the game which...I find hard to believe because I am quite sure that Abigail didn't do all the charm options on him throughout the series that eventually he did piss her off so, since this is a PT to test stuff, I am curious. As an aside though probably one of the funnier RP twists that...no idea how I will handle this if I get to him but I find it a fun twist that the practical paraagrade Abigail might have an easier time sympathing with TIM and wanting him on her side for the fight where my true blue Paragon would be more liable to go 'to hell with you' with the renegade options...good doesen't understand evil after all. Similar happens to the clone, Abby always tries to save...herself...and Cam is all like 'get off my ship.' -Starting off by having Abigail be evasive about what is bothering her rather then admitting to it, at least at first. In general though I did test something first off. See I am not sure if I have ever done this but since this PT is *non canon* and since I have been keeping track...well I didn't even talk to Khalisa in ME 1 and used the intimidate speech on her on 2...I wanted to try punching her in 3 because in my pts she dodges at first and goes 'not this time'. And I was really curious if BioWare took that into account...I was almost dissapointed because she did the dodge...but she said 'you want some? bring it!' And Abby promptly put her ass down. Also kind of wondering just in the back of my head when she should start developing feelings for James. I never really thought of it too much in regards to the game itself other then the...fics...I wrote on the subject.

Today: - I finished the Omega dlc - unpopular opinion i guess but it`s the only dlc i don`t like, it always feels like a chore to play it but the completionist in me had to do it . Still there`s three good things in it: Lash, Flare and Nyreen. Anyway, Aria regained control of Omega and spared General Oleg Petrovsky. - Then it was time to have a meeting with the Quarians. Went to the Geth Dreadnought with Tali, disabled the reaper code signal and Legion joined the Normandy. - In Rannoch: saved Admiral Koris and disabled the server controlling the Geth fighter squadrons. Destroyed the reaper base and defeated the Reaper. Convinced Admiral Han'Gerrel to stop the attack, Legion gave his life to free the other Geths and the war between the Quarians and the Geth ended. - Went to Thessia with Liara and Javik, reached the Temple and uncovered some secrets about the Asari but lost the Prothean VI to the annoying Kai Leng and lost Thessia to the Reapers.

I also had Miranda get cranky with me and when I checked her romance status it said I'd broken up with her when I hadn't even romanced her??? I'll have a check of Garrus's friendship/romance staus. Unless it is something I have done with the editor, I have been really careful what I have played with, mainly resources, credits and ticking things I missed like a ship model. Using an editor could definitely contribute. There could be differences between the original and the LE of which we aren't aware. I'm assuming the editor was not specifically designed for LE, meaning it could be altering values to which LE ascribes different meaning. I'm just guessing. I've not experienced any bugs like that myself. The editor is made for MELE.

So I may have picked the wrong class for Marcus in terms of keeping my interest. I went with soldier for RP purposes and it works for that. But I had trouble staying focused yesterday while playing due to getting bored of spamming Adernaline Rush. I admit I was starting to get a bit bored towards the end of ME2. Mikaela is also a soldier so switching to her won't really change gameplay for me.
Going to start my planned 3rd playthrough a bit earlier just to change up gameplay a bit. Rolling default femshep, adept and romance Kaiden(two things I have never done). Grabbed electronics as my bonus for more shields and for RP reasons. I plan to stick with adept in ME2 and grab energy drain. Come ME3 I will likely switch to Vanguard. Hard to get bored when charging face first into the enemy. I would make the switch during ME2, but I really don't care for shotguns.

And if I was stuck playing as ME 2 Soldier Shep that might get a bit old but I have noticed that ME 3 really changes up the gameplay formulae. The combos makes concussive shot actually useful. The grenades add utility and more tactics. And sure you spam a lot of Adrenaline Rush to but then with the level 6 upgrade you can chose to combine it with another offensive power, so AR = Concussive shots everywhere for lots of neat explosions. Combine all of this with an bonus power which helps cover for a weakness in the Soldiers coverage...in Abby's case Energy Drain to strip shields and give her survivability...and I think the ME 3 combat is just much more varied then 2s...which ME 3 for all of its utter flaws I am having a pretty big blast with how manuverable Shepard is.

Really wish I had more time to spend playing, but I'm just not feeling it when I get home from work, so that's just been leaving the weekends.
Anyway, today I did Thane, Zaeed, and Jack's loyalty missions. This was the first time I let the refinery workers die in Zaeed's mission, and I figured it was the most pragmatic choice to get Vido. Earned me quite a lot of Renegade points. Then in Jack's mission I talked her out of killing Aresh, so maybe I'm not that good of a Renegade. I was able to pick the Renegade choice to resolve the argument between Jack and Miranda, and that's really what I was hoping for. I also finished up all the N7 missions, and I don't think I've ever done that. (There's a whole series of missions about a rogue VI that I've never played through!)
Tali's mission is the only loyalty mission left, along with getting all the systems to 100%. After that will be LotSB and finally the Reaper IFF mission.

So I ended up importing Mark Shepard into ME2 about 3-4 times today.
First import: The facial hair seemed to be a lighter color than it was in ME1 (blonde moustache) and it looked terrible. So I copied the face code for later.
QUICK RANT: When importing into ME3, selecting the "Customize Face" option lets you keep the imported face so you can tweak it. I wish they had back-ported this feature into ME2 as it would have made things easier.
I went quickly through Lazarus Station > Freedom's Progress > Recruit Mordin so I could access the research terminal. I wanted to quickly jot down the research values for the old bonus equipment from the research terminal, as well as the locations in Citadel and Omega shops. I am slowly working towards a formal post on a bunch of the changes for the gameplay forum.
Combat Drone continues to be awesome in ME2. Shame it sucked in ME3.
Second import: Entered the face code, then tweaked the facial hair to be a darker color. It looks better now. I left the hair a little brighter as it still looked okay. Played through Lazarus station a bit. Restarted Lazarus station to re-do a section to record a known glitch (plus workaround), but noticed that restarting it removed all import bonuses INCLUDING XP BONUSES (now reset to level 1)! Played through a bit to record the glitch.
Third import: Entered the face code, tweaked the facial hair. Then recorded the reset bug. I will post this to YouTube later.
Fourth import: In progress. Will enter the face code, tweak the facial hair, then complete Lazarus Station. Will continue later.

Grab a high RoF weapon, use Incendiary Burst Ammo and Amplified Concussive Shot. Fiery destruction all around. You can also entirely ignore Adrenaline Rush if you take Marksman as your bonus power. It gives damage, RoF and accuracy bonuses without the annoying time dilation.

So completed the LoTSB and Arrival yesterday with no major dramas. In Arrival I didn't even try to put up a fight in the compulsory die part, I was getting short of time as I had to stop playing and I just hate that fight anyway. In LoTSB William and Liara agreed to be friends as she suggested she'd be pretty heavily invested in new job. William went way renegade with his choices in Arrival, not hesitating to put a bullet in Kenson and giving Harbinger a slap down. Will jump into ME3 today but progress may be slow as I also want to do some of the new stuff in AC Valhalla or maybe not if it isn't fun. Pic's Alive and Dead SB's Sweet Ride Liara's Job Interview Rescued the crazy one Scorching Escape Was this a clue on the shuttle, is that a picture of a Reaper? Bright Eye's Harbinger talks too much Time to go Ooops, mum Shepard broke the relay

I completed the Tuchanka/Genophage arc and all side quests today, curing the genophage with Wrex and Bakara in charge.
I went ahead and dropped 150K on the Typhoon for my squad. I could've gotten the Harrier for Shepard instead, but I'll eventually want to use the Lancer anyway.
I may not love the content they gave Ashley, but her VA is so good. If the late stage content, passing out drunk, etc... doesn't bother me too much, maybe I'll at least return to some sort of rotation. It won't be 50/50; but maybe 75 Kaidan/25 Ashley.

I have played around with Vanguards in ME2&3, but never played a biotic in ME1. Holy smokes! Adepts are awesome. Why I have I avoided playing one for so long?!?! Mara-Jean Shepard is the most fun I have had in ME, in years. Team Biotic putting in the work! I used a console command mod to get the Master SPECTRE armor for Mara-Jean and Kaidan.

Biotics are super powerful in ME1, per the lore and logical sense. They spent the next two games tweaking just how powerful they could be without undermining game difficulty. Adepts are not alone in being awesome. A Vanguard with Singularity as its bonus power is essentially a better Adept in that it gets better armor, an extra weapon and a "reset cooldown" button. Sentinels are likewise great. MELE reduced the importance of weapon training by removing penalties. They can add Singularity, Assault Rifles, Hacking or something else to an already impressive suite of biotics and tech. With MELE, Sentinel has cemented itself as my favorite class. It is good at everything.

So started ME3 yesterday imported William Mark 3 with some slight facial tweaks and a new hair cut which made for a much more aesthetically pleasing or at least a Shepard that didn't make me cringe in some shots. The nose isn't quite right but hey no ones perfect. Got brushed off by the council (AGAIN) but got reinstated as a Spectre which while i think of it didn't work for me in ME2 when interviewing Elias Kelham. Chatted with Udina and painted a target only visible by Spectre's on his forehead for later. On the Normandy William had the difficult chat with Liara about just being friends and I look forward to taking her with Tali to board the Geth Dreadnought later on as there is some great dialogue between the two of them there. I completed Mars, I really like the combat there the Cerberus guys can be full on in some of the places. Using the Avenger and The Shuriken with Fire Ammo had 70 Pyro kills before I left and hit 90 by the time I cleared the Comm's tower on Palaven. Had to use both weapons as ammo just did not want to drop for long periods of Mars to the point I thought that I remembered wrong and there must be just the caches in rooms. Picked up Garrus and sent Liara to attend to the birthing of the sex bot on the Normandy. Switched from the Avenger to the Harrier which I have never used before, I quite like it but wish I could access the Saber sooner. Will pick up today defending the barrier on Palaven. William Mark 3 I told you so New and Improved Ashley, if I do another male Shep will romance her the whole way through. Found a Duct Rat Yep a hand gun will do it Off to Mars Met up with the Smoking Man Ashley v Eva Played all of Mars having forgotten to allocate Liara's points Palaven

No real RP testing other then pure back of the head kind of stuff as I play but I got a fair bit of stuff done. -Did Palavan and ran into Garrus who is a General but not General? And serves on the Normandy...always thoought that was a little weird but then that is Garrus. -Also quite interesting to see that we got General Victus who is what Fedorian was described as...kind of convenient that the Turians would have two such people. I wonder if this is an indication of why Victus was promoted so far up the chain, or an indictment against the Hieararchy that he wasn't promoted farther. -Just what were the Salarians up to? Granted it does behoove one to keep up active intelligence against even your friends but one has to wonder given some of the revelations on Sur'kesh (which has some fun RP connotations) if it wasn't something more? Also the fact the Turians have had Rebels this close to the modern era I always thought of as hmmm worthy. Rebellion against what? -For some weird reason one of the things I have noted on this playthrough through the trilogy is that the DLC does seem a lot...shorter...then I remembered. But now Omega seems pretty long. Oh yes, I started Omega. -So Omega very neat story idea, some great combat encounters, and even some cool cutscenes...but the bluntness of the dialogue makes me wanna choke someone. "I'm Aria and I'm a mega bitch" "I'm Nyreen and have I told you how much I love the people in the last five minutes?' *Abigail proceeds to throw up her lunch* -On that note there is one RP option that I never approved of, of course now I cannot remember the paragon line but the bottom one was "i am impressed". And the paragon one was...just out of character. And well I am impressed with Aria's overall plan and the execution of it the line that Shepard said was 'you handled Nyreen perfectly'...which is kind of gag puke in its own way and especially disengenious since not five minutes earlier Abby was chasstising her for manipulating Nyreen in the first place. -The shield cutscene is still hella awesome. -Oh yes how could I forget...I found my beloved Valkyrie. Actually lets begin there for that. Its weird because I swear there is some kind of must be hidden stats going on in the background because I was doing my due dilligence and checking the stats on the Vindicator and Valk and they seem to be virtually identicle...except the Valk is way heavier. So, I was like once again...did I miss this? Even though I have checked before and recognize the Valk is heavy its always a puzzling thing for me. Some slight bonus in accuracy but everything seems ideniticle. And yet the Valk feels way different, way more accurate, way less recoil, and way more consistent damage so...just what is going on? Is it the 2 bullets instead of three? Is it the fact that the heavier it is is actually reducing Recoil? Is that a thine? I am also unfortunatley continuing to have serious uncanny Valley stuff going on with Abby. I don't want to restart the game this far into it and I know intellectually she looks similar enough...I guess. And the people who have seen her says she is identicle but there is something off. Of course it does not help that her eyes are now super squinty every time it seems which actually does not make a lot of shots..takable. *ugh* though not taking a lot of shots this PT since I want to do the whole second PT thing. Really curious to see if Nora's eyes (my wife's SHepard) has the same squint problem since she is suuupppper doe eyed.

colfoley, you typed the description I'd give the ME3 Valkyrie verbatim. It's a heavier Vindicator. Both look cool, and both are serviceable. I prefer way more punch, though, whether it comes from RoF or damage per shot. I've never understood why they made the Valkyrie so heavy. It's performance doesn't warrant such a punitive weight. I've been using the Mattock in ME3 for the first time throughout this playthrough. It feels different than in ME2; somehow lighter, though that's not the right word. It's fine. It's a placeholder until I claim the Lancer. In fact, I should just go get that now, assuming I can do the party stuff later after finishing everyone's individual stories. As to FemShep's squinty eyes, it's universal. For some reason, FemShep squints constantly in ME3. It's one of the thousand small things that collectively drove me to switch to playing Sheploo 75% of the time. I like FemShep, but ME3 bundled a ton of small annoyances into the package.

I like FemShep, but ME3 bundled a ton of small annoyances into the package. weird that does not effect Man Shep as much.

From the journal of Mark Shepard: We have been hunting Geth for several months now. I have been hoping that we would find more information about the Reapers, but so far nothing. I keep hoping the next Geth enclave we find will wield more data, but I am growing less confident.
Also Ashley has begun to call me her "Big Disappointment". Should I be worried?
From the journal of Mark Shepard: So some big ship destroyed the Normandy. Next thing I know is I wake up on some operating table in some space station that was under attack by mechs. And that space station was operated by Cerberus. Miranda says I was out for two years. And then the Illusive Man says he brought me back to help stop the Reapers, says someone has been abducting human colonies and he wants me to find out who.
So we headed to the next colony, where I ran into Tali! Good news: we managed to get some data that pointed to a species called the Collectors was behind the attacks. Bad news: a lot, actually. First, Tali would not be coming with us. Actually, almost all the old crew is either dead or have moved on. Second, the Alliance and Citadel Council would not be helping, which means I need to continue working with Cerberus. Third: an AI is aboard the ship watching my every move (and probably my extranet habits).
But some more good news: We got a new Normandy... somehow. And Joker and Dr. Chakwas are part of the crew! Kelly Chambers is... weird. But Rupert Gardner seems cool at least, and he makes some good meals.
And I managed to land at the Normandy crash site and recover some dog tags. I also planted a memorial to remember the fallen.
Also, I love my new Omni Tool. This Combat Drone program is amazing. I had an YMIR mech totally confused. I cannot wait to start modding this thing, it's going to be awesome!

colfoley , you typed the description I'd give the ME3 Valkyrie verbatim. I never create a male Shepard, and always create a female Shepard. It could be that pre-gen FemShep is also not squinty, and that custom BroShep is squinty. I lack the experience to say.

So today in ME3 LE where to start?
Left Mars and headed to Palaven and resolved the issue of the Primarch.
Then headed to the Citadel and OMG my brain exploded, so much going on and I had forgotten about not being able to delete emails, who thought that was a good idea or am I forgetting something?
So after going backwards and forwards and up and down etc. resolved several quests or parts of quests, picked up quests and in all honesty even having played the game at least 15 times before was left bewildered. The fact missions pop that you can do nothing about even though they are time critical, man had forgotten about the shear complexity this introduces.
Anyway maybe just my old brain not coping. Ended with hosting the Dalatrass and Wrex and the Primarch then heading to Surkesh.
I really just want to be able to delete my emails, more detail tomorrow about what I did.

I have been using the Harrier but just changed to the Mattock as I enjoyed it in ME2. Is the Harrier better than the Mattock haven't had a chance to use the Mattock yet? Mattock is fine. It's perfectly serviceable, and definitely better than the Avenger. It doesn't feel like the beast it was in ME2; but I'm not focused on weapons. If I were shooting more, maybe I'd feel differently. The Harrier is way better. It's not even close, in my opinion. Those stat pages can be close to useless, good only for getting the general idea of a weapon. (Maybe because ME3 had a lot of post-launch rebalancing thanks to MP. With the rebalancing lost, maybe the stat pages are useful?) That being the case, I've never compared the two. In usage, the Harrier feels far superior. I'm certain someone has done actual research. RedCaesar97 probably saved it for us, and it's just waiting for me to look for it in the Mechanics & Modding subforum. EDIT: I just remembered this post. Assuming all these numbers are still good, the Google doc shows the disparity. bsn.boards.net/thread/19211/legendary-edition-weapon-stats-effect
