Closing in on the end of my first playthough in the MELE with my cannon Shepard. I did Priority: Thessia and Priority: Horizon followed by the Citadel DLC main mission today. I've spent the past few days doing all the rest of the side missions and the Leviathan DLC so all that's left is the final 2 missions. Since this is my cannon playthough I'm taking Team Dextro everywhere I can. I can't believe I either forgot or didn't know that energy drain also took down the CAT-6 Heavies shields until I tried ordering Tali to use it on one.

From the journal of Mark Shepard:
So we found a ship full of husks, sent by the Geth. Worst birthday gift ever. We also took out a bunch of Cerberus bases and found Admiral Kahoku's body. We then took out their main base eliminating the Cerberus threat forever.

Baldilocks Shepard ran around the Citadel. Talk with an advertisement. Told a volus with to find his chit. Told a krogan no fish in the water. Talked with a reporter. Told all the stores they're my favorite. I didn't buy anything. Saw my good friend Udina. Talked with Anderson.
Found a vehicle called the Hammerhead. Don't know why. It doesn't look like the head of a hammer. Found a prothean sphere. It's now sitting in my cabin.
Now I have to recruit some squadmates to help me fight bugs. I think it would be easier if I bought a few cans of raid.

So very little time yesterday, completed Overlord and sent David to Grissam Academy and look forward to seeing him soon. The mission was again much easier than I remembered and for my next run through I think I am going to have to be brave and up the difficulty to whatever is above normal. I have only died twice from memory and that was from being overly aggressive and not using cover once and once I think because Shepard got stuck and wouldn't take cover. As others have mentioned it would have been great if the squad mates had some dialogue. After Overlord I started scouring systems to find any planets etc, I hadn't scanned as I will then do the IFF mission then Legion and Tali's LM. Pic's Green Scenery

I finished ME2 today and started ME3.
ME2 still has the most satisfying ending in gaming for me. Jack Wall's soundtrack is such a huge part of it. I love how the theme begins as soon as you head to the Omega-4 Relay and continues through the ending credits. The music peaks and ebbs as appropriate, but the theme is set once the mission begins. I just love it.
I imported into ME3 after a break, switching my class to Infiltrator as I'd long planned. I bought my M-90 Indra as soon as I got access to the Alliance Requisitions terminal. It's already been upgraded to Level 5. We get a barrel and stability mod very early for the sniper rifles, and those will serve until I can get my high velocity barrel.
We escaped Earth and then Mars. It was actually cool to see Ashley. I'm so used to seeing Kaidan. It's been a long time since I've heard Ash's lines and such. I hate her makeover, and feel it goes against the established character. I also hate her content later in the game. Early, though, it was cool to see her.
We raided a Cerberus Base; recruited a Prothean; and reunited with Garrus while rescuing a Primarch. That's where I saved. ME3 quickly gets into the heart of the story. I guess they had no time to waste after the Collector plotline.
Infiltrators are a lot of fun in ME3. They have a very complete toolkit. The improved versatility of Disruptor Ammo; the broadened applications of Sabotage; the mighty Incinerate: these are skills around which you could build a solid tech-Shep. They're not even the main event with Tactical Cloak being a thing. I added Energy Drain as my bonus power. It provides a useful defense stripping power, but also a ton of survivability. Infiltrators otherwise struggle to regenerate shields.
I got the Pyromaniac trophy to activate as I landed on Menae. It felt bugged in my first PT, but worked fine with Shepard slinging Incinerate at lots of mooks. I have only the Hijacker trophy and the Citadel Trophies left. I'll make sure I get Hijacker at Grissom Academy. I skipped the Citadel my first PT. I'll complete it 100% for this Shepard. That will give me my Mass Effect Triple Platinum once more.

So did the Reapper IFF mission , I hate that last battle but got through it OK. Did Tali's LM and Tali got cleared of the charges, took Legion and people were not impressed. Then did Legions LM and took Tali, destroyed the Geth Heretics. I made all the right choices re romancing Tali but I couldn't get the romance response which was kind of frustrating and when I looked in the romance section of the save editor it had her only on 3 points out of 5 which is friendly, changed it to 4 but that didn't work, so changed it to 5 and got the dialogue. I have had a few weird things like this, earlier I couldn't figure out why Miranda was being so pissed off with me and when I checker with the save editor it said I had "Broken Up" with her but I never even romanced her???? So changed the variable back to friendship only and she was nice again. Anyway EDI just told me to take the shuttle so Suicide Mission tomorrow. Hoping when I go on the shuttle I can reset my abilities or at least before the Suicide run. Pic's

Marcus and company were able to recover a Reaper IFF from a derelict Reaper. When the IFF was installed on the Normandy, all of the ship's crew was lost to a trap set by the Collectors except Joker and Marcus' squad. Joker managed to save the ship by unshackling EDI, the ships AI. Once they were sure the IFF had been scrubbed Marcus ordered the Normandy to proceed through the Omega 4 relay to recover the captured crew and stop the Collectors. While traveling to the relay Marcus sent a message to his mother using the Normandy's comm system. With EDI no longer shackled the AI was free from the restrictions placed by Cerberus, and no longer monitored private comm channels. Given her new found freedom EDI, joined Marcus as a full member of his crew. Marcus's message: Encryption active… Secured dropbox…
To: Hannah Shepard From: Marcus Shepard
Mom,
I am about to head through the Omega 4 relay. The Collector's managed to capture most of the Normandy's crew while my squad and I were on an away mission. I fully intend to survive this mission despite others continuing to refer to it as a suicide mission. My squad is completely committed to the mission, and the Normandy has been upgraded with truly cutting edge technology. She is now likely the most advance ship in the galaxy. My comms are no longer being monitored, but I will be out of contact for the next several hours at least.
I will contact you again soon.
Love, SPECTRE Marcus
Marcus was able to lead his squad successfully rescuing the captured crew, and destroying the Collector's base without any losses. After returning to the Terminus System, the Normandy put into for repairs at spacedock run by the Shadow Broker. While the Normandy was being repaired and the crew recovering from the ordeal, Marcus was contacted by Adirmal Hackett. An Alliance black op led by Dr. Amanda Kenson that was investigating a imminent Reaper invasion of a Batarian system had ran into complications. The doctor had been captured by Batarians and Hackett asked Shepard to extract her. Hackett's request that Marcus do so solo was a bit concerning. The request reminded Marcus of another mission he taken on during the hunt for Saren. Hackett had asked Marcus to negotiate with a Warlord that was making demands of the Alliance. But once on site Marcus realized Hackett had set Marcus up to kill the Warlord, using Marcus' status as a SPECTRE to cover the Alliance's involvement with the Warlord. Wearily Marcus accepted the mission to extract Doctor Kenson. Even if Hackett was looking to take advantage of Marcus being a SPECTRE a second time, the threat of an imminent Reaper invasion was to big to ignore. Once the Normandy's hull breaches had been repaired, Marcus ordered the Normandy to the Batarian system, , where Kenoen was being held. Initially Marcus was able to rescue the doctor, but had to sacrifice the lives of roughly 300,000 Batarians and their slaves to stop the Reaper invasion. Knowing the Batarians would blame humanity and the Alliance for the destruction of the system, Marcus docked at a neutral port, and let his crew disembark. With only Joker, Doctor Chakwas and Marcus remaining on board, the Normandy set course for Earth to meet with Alliance officials. Before turning himself in, Marcus sent one last message to his mother.. Marcus's message: Encryption active… Secured dropbox…
To: Hannah Shepard From: Marcus Shepard
Mom,
My entire crew survived the mission to destroy the collectors, but that victory seems a bit hollow right now.
You are likely already hearing word of the destruction of the Batarian system, Bahak. 305,000 lives lost when the relay was destroyed. You probably also heard the Alliance may have been involved. I can confirm that, the Alliance was involved. A black op overseen by Admiral Hackett had found concrete proof of a Reaper invasion. Hackett contacted me when the op ran into problems. When I arrived on scene, there was only 48 hours until the Reapers would arrive in system. Once in system the Reapers could invade the rest of the galaxy in minutes. I had to weigh the lives of 305,000 against trillions. You know me, I always look for ways to avoid the loss of innocents. I didn't have that choice here, and it will haunt me till the end of my days. It still doesn't feel real. Hackett has requested I come back to the Alliance and face the music. I have a feeling he is going to play this off as a Cerberus op, and use my status as a SPECTRE to shield me from any repercussions. I don't know what to think of all this, other than I failed somehow. Yet at the same time I would do it again. I hope...I am still a son you can be proud of...I am so sorry..
Ash...she had trouble with Cerberus. And now this...I may have lost any chance I have...I know as soldiers we have to make sacrifices, but I wanted just one thing for myself, and now...
I imagine once in Alliance custody I will be placed under some type of arrest/protective custody and restricted from comm access. I wanted you to hear it from me and not some news hit piece or Alliance brass.
Love,
Your Son, Marcus

I actually got a little bored with my ME3 Infiltrator. I left that save intact and created a Vanguard. I don't think playing Biotic God will keep me entertained, either. Maybe I should switch to Adept?
It could be that I'm a bit burnt out after 1.66 playthroughs since MELE released. My brief time as a Vanguard made me miss MEA. It's gameplay is so good. Then I remember PeeBee, Liam and all the light-hearted banter; as well as the long, mediocre storyline. Meh.
I'll either put aside ME3 for a few days, or just take a longer break. We'll see which sticks.

Its always a bit sad finishing a playthrough of a BioWare game when you know that this could be the last time through. Likely no but well going through the SR-2 after the SM has been a bit wistful. Could be last time I play ME 2. Could be last time I play Abigail. It'll certainly be awhile. But then there is also a bit of impatience/ annoyance to because I have to recruit Legion so late to ensure I get everyone to survive the SM and my way of dealing with that issue is to play... Firewalker. . And for some reason I really want to get on to ME 3. So I still can't just help the desire to go racing to the next game. From the Personal Logs of Abigail Shepard, October 22nd, 2185*Abigail has her head on her knees and is leaning one of her hands against the floor, she looks up after a moment* I have been trying to put my thoughts into order since I came back from Arathot...and the one question that keeps on coming back to me...am I cursed? Three hundred thousand Batarians and their slaves dead. Everytime the Batarians are involved it seems I break some kind of law, some kind of moral standing. People always die. Innocent people. My compatriots. I know its always for the greater good. I know that usually I make the right decision too, that the deaths and the torture are somehow justified...at least that is what I have to tell myself. And this time I had no choice. Kenson forced my hand. An indoctrinated Kenson forced my hand. Though of course I was also out for nearly two days, they had captured me to so I guess I have to wonder...I spent two days near a Reaper artifact and I have this head ache that just won't go away so I have to wonder...though I'm not hearing whispers and my memory seems intact. But that was the other difficult thing, listening to the personal logs as they were indoctrinated. This is truly insidious what they do. Ah well, ignore and overide. Just do what I feel is best. Shepard out. October 27th I suppose its a great cosmic irony. Until Hacket gets back to me or a warrant is served for my arrest I have to do what is best to get the galaxy ready for the Reapers. After all they are here now, and it still might take them months to get anywhere but they will eventually get somewhere. I just wish I could time the asteroid impact to detonate the relay as they warped in. So now that I have a starship of my own it makes sense to go look for clues, to go try and build the resources I need to stop them using whatever time I have left. But is a big galaxy out there and I have no idea where to begin. And conspiracy theorist sites on the extranet does not seem like the best place to begin. So I suppose its ironic that despite not being on Cerberus anymore maybe my best lead is looking into this Project Firewalker. And hopefully this is the last thing TIM would expect from us to go heading towards a Cerberus project. Of course it didn't seem like the first one went anywhere. We took the Hammerhead and did some data collection. It didn't lead much other then to four more locations to investigate across the galaxy. We are heading for the first one with the artificat recovery.

The problem with the story for me is not that it's bad but that it is tretched too thin over all the planet exploring and Nexus stuff. Have you played AC Valhalla DLC yet or the new Mastery stuff? I don't like the cheery, light-hearted tone of the game. The predicament is serious. It doesn't need to be bleak, but I don't like that it feels like I'm hanging out with my neighbors' college age kids. The banter is often clever and well written; I just feel it's at odds with the story and my personal taste. Good news is that I switched my ME3 over to Adept and I'm feeling good about it. Adept has always been my favorite, and I was missing my biotic combos. I played through the extended intro and talky-talky stuff, and got back into space. I scanned several systems and parked above Eden Prime. I generally liberate Javik before going to Palaven-Menae. That way, he's ready to roll ASAP. As an Adept, I'll be rolling with Javik and/or Liara quite often. I'll really miss Kaidan later, but I want Ash's bonus powers, and it's good to mix it up now and then. I kind of get the Liara-hate, even though I don't share it. She talks way too much in the early part of ME3, and later has some really obnoxious lines on Thessia and afterward. ("Maybe next time the Alliance can spring for air support." Are you f#$@%ing kidding me? The Alliance has been carrying your sorry blue asses this entire trilogy. Ugh.) I find Tali's role in ME3 beyond obnoxious, but Liara definitely is a frequent irritant. On Mars, she rarely STFU. It gets on my nerves. Anyway, I'm glad I found the right dial to turn to keep my playthrough rolling. I'd like to wrap up my trophies on this second PT, and that means completing the Citadel DLC. I can only do that if I'm still invested in 30+ hours. I also still need Hijacker. I might start bringing a Mantis SR on every relevant mission until I get it. My earlier Infitrator was too optimized and just shredded the damn mechs before the glass could break.

Its kind of funny the Firewalker mission I did last night was not the one I was expecting it was the one with the Geth. So I jammed that crap into Casual after pretty much the second encounter. From the Personal Log of Abigail Shepard October 30, 2185If my recommendations carry any weight I don't think the Hammerhead will be a very effective 'Fighting Vehicle'. It will be good for reconeisance and maybe some sniping...after all I was able to engage the Geth from beyond their range with missile fire on a few occasions and had to engage in some very...whittling down tactics...but in a straight up fight I do not think the Hammerhead can really stand in a line. Which might have been the point of the thing afterall an Infantry Fighting Vehicle is not supposed to engage in the same role as an actual 'tank' but even the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and Striker of old Earth was quite formidable in its day. Still on another surprise I have heard through the grapevine that a warrant has been issued for my arrest. I want to stay out here, want to stay investigating, but I do not think its the right thing to do. With both Cerberus and the Alliance hunting us down it'll just be a matter of time before one of them catches us or we will have to stay restricted to the Terminus Systems in a desperate attempt to avoid the law. It may work but the Alliance...well I am public enemy number 1 and any resources wasted on me will be one less against the Reapers so I will not be the focus of that kind of action. I refuse to let me become a distraction. I've already sent a message to Anderson detailing that fact and we will meet in neutral territory where I will turn myself into the authories...in this case Omega. I gave all the crew the option to leave or stay with me till the end. I am not the least bit surprised and even hoped most of them would go back, try warning their governments about what is coming for us all. And only Joker and Chakwas remained. Maybe a bit surprised about the lack of Ken and Gabby since they were Alliance...but again I cannot blame their decision. I expect there may be a com blackout on me so no matter what happens for me...its been fun. *** With that comes to an end of my playthrough of ME 2. But next up ME 3. I think this game was far more successful from an RP standpoint and matching her headcanon then 1. Somehow she ended up a bit more paragon then she did in the past but that is largely semantical for me because I am pretty sure she got all the major and minor moments of her character arc that is completed and got all the speech checks she wanted even the pesky Morinth one. And well ME 2 still remains an utter joy to play even to this day and its always again bittersweet to come to an end of a BioWare game...but hey ME 3. Speaking of her Jack Bauerification I do think I am going to play in and actually embrace the whole 'Shepard broods' portion of ME 3. Its still bad RP design but it occurs to me Bauer did also find it difficult to not have the emotional tole take place on him throughout the days. So yeah I do not know how this will happen...but still. Now as far as ME 3 is concerned I think a few of you are aware that i am not exactly happy with how they have handled the whole DLC weapon thing and for that main reason...well I am going to be doing 2 playthroughs of ME 3 back to back. One to unlock the proper arsenal, and one to actually play the game. I do not know which weapons I will grind to unlock exactly. Gotta get the Valk, Talon, and Valiant obviously (and yes I know two of those are aquirable in game) but then the side weapons are those that I am not sure about for the squad. The Harrier, Typhoon (never used it but it looks cool, thoughts?) Pirahna and Black Widow are all things I could get. But yeah this does mean I am going to be suspending my personal logs though until the second playthrough since this won't really be canon. There will be some testing going on here and some stuff to keep in mind because well I have to try and keep an eye on 1. The RP arc that Abigail will go through in this game. 2. Whether or not to kill Miranda on Horizon, intentionally...what really is better for Abby's story/ consistent with her character and 3. what armor colors will be better for each mission considering for my second PT I want to try and do camo patterns based on the environment of each planet/ mission Shepard does. Any thoughts on how to do all this will be appreciated. I just hope people are still around when I do get to my second PT of ME 3.

Imported Marcus to mass effect 3, and ran into Ash. I can't believe how good she looks in 4k. My only gripe is I wish the new outfit was her Spectre off duty outfit, and the first time we see her she was in standard alliance dress or fatigues. I didn't do much other then import and get through all the dialogue. I am still deciding how I will post Marcus' adventures.

I just hope people are still around when I do get to my second PT of ME 3. I will be! I need to go back and finish Mikaela's play through at some point, even through Marcus will likely be "my canon" run. It depends on how smooth the Ash romance goes. The times that Liara calls a romanced Shepard "friend" in me3, and having to confirm the relationship twice always breaks the immersion for me. If the Miranda Mod ever gets ported over to MELE, that would be my "true" head canon

So finished the main game of ME2, romanced Tali and then went to talk to Garrus and he suggested inter racial sex????? I politely turned him down and have never gotten that line from him as I have never romanced him. The Everyone survived The Collector Base (sorry themikefest I just can't be as ruthless as you ) and have started LoTSB and just landed on the Shadow Brokers ship. The last part of the Collector Base fight was harder than I expected but managed to not go down, The M490 Blackstorm was really useful at the end and throughout the game, it was the only Heavy Weapon I used. Bit of this Bit of this Bit of that Time to hit the bar

The update seems to have done a number on a wide variety of B00L values. They're so varied that it's hard to predict what might go sideways.

Since beginning ME3, I've spent days vacillating on class choice, restarting again and again. It creates a negative loop by causing me to replay the same 3 hour segment repeatedly, furthering dissatisfaction.
In the end, it could've been avoided if I'd just stuck with the same class from ME & ME2. I finally came back to Sentinel and will hopefully stick with it long-term. No promises. 😆🙄 It is the ultimate mix of biotics, tech, guns and pure toughness, so I just really enjoy it across the entire series.
Anyway, John Shepard the Sentinel has finally continued his journey into ME3. I only got to play a bit, but it was enough, given all the aborted playthroughs. After leaving the Citadel, I raided a Cerberus lab on Sanctum and then liberated Javik on Eden Prime. I'll start tomorrow on Menae.
I also loaded my FemShep who already completed the story. I equipped her with a Mantis I and sent her onto Cronos Station with EDI and Tali. I knew that combo wouldn't do any uwanted damage to the mech, and could help me strip its shields rapidly.
It took 9 shots to the glass with this Shep and loadout to break it. One shot killed the pilot. Once I climbed in and got my Hijacker Trophy, I exited to the main menu.
Now, all I need to do is complete Citadel DLC story and Arena 100% to finish off every MELE trophy. I skipped the Citadel on my FemShep run because I was totally uninvested and eager for it to end.
In my current playthrough, the only irritant is having Ash instead of Kaidan. I'm already tired of her and her worst moments lie ahead. Also, Kaidan would've been my part of my Biotic Commando squad with Shep and Javik. Instead, I'll have to bring a non-biotic buddy or the overly talkative Liara. (Seriously, why does she have so much inane chatter in the early game? I like her, and I still want her to STFU.)

Yeah with all the restarts I had to do with the ME 1 LE and the first cutscene my wife was getting annoyed at the restarts. I think we have watched the opening cutscene to the series like 7 times with everything going on. Also she tends to get snappish when I ask her if Abby still looks fine in between games.

I also had Miranda get cranky with me and when I checked her romance status it said I'd broken up with her when I hadn't even romanced her??? I'll have a check of Garrus's friendship/romance staus. Unless it is something I have done with the editor, I have been really careful what I have played with, mainly resources, credits and ticking things I missed like a ship model.

Using an editor could definitely contribute. There could be differences between the original and the LE of which we aren't aware. I'm assuming the editor was not specifically designed for LE, meaning it could be altering values to which LE ascribes different meaning. I'm just guessing. I've not experienced any bugs like that myself.

From the journal of Mark Shepard: So I managed to destroy Saren's base of operations, but lost Kaidan who was next to the bomb when it detonated. I probably could have saved him if Saren himself had not shown up and tried to fight me. I almost killed Saren too, but he got away. Also, his ship is apparently a Reaper and they really do want to destroy all organic life in the galaxy.
From the journal of Mark Shepard: So the council decided to station fleets around the Citadel but not go after Saren. Udina then decided it was a good idea to ground the Normandy to prevent me from going after Saren (something about possibly starting a war with the Terminus Systems; I wasn't really listening). Luckily, Anderson helped me steal the Normandy so I could go after Saren. No one on the Normandy seems really bothered by it though except maybe Garrus because it kind of contradicts a lot of conversations we have been having.
Ashley snuck up to my quarters for some fun time. But then she mercilessly mocked my performance. I knew I should have practiced!
Anyway, we chased down Saren to Ilos, talked to a Prothean VI, then found the Conduit. The Conduit was a Mass Relay that took us back to the Citadel (convenient!), where we chased Saren up to the Council Chambers. I somehow convinced Saren to kill himself, then we stopped Sovereign from regaining control over the station. Then Sovereign took over Saren's body and tried to kill us, but Liara just lifted it unti Ashley and I shot it to pieces. Then the Alliance fleet exploded Sovereign, and I nearly got crushed by the debris.
As thanks, the council offered humanity a council seat, and for some odd reason they asked me who should be the human councilor. I nominated Anderson because I do not like life-long politicians.
P.S. Everyone keeps saying that I killed a Reaper. I didn't even shoot at the thing (well, maybe I shot at a leg or something during the walk up to the council chambers), so I don't know why they give me credit for it. But it looks good on my resume, so who am I to correct them?

I'm playing ME3 right now, about to land at an STG Base on Surkesh with Garrus and Javik. I love how Javik never wears a mask.
"Masks? I see breathing is still primitive in this cycle." °°_°°
