Finished Ilos and the game. I have to say this is likely the most paragon ME1 playthrough I've done even with the council going bye, bye. Udina is the human councilor. It's a rarity I rescue t'soni early in the game and complete Virmire before going to Ilos. I will spend time downloading mods for LE2. I'm curious to see how different Shepard might look from ME1 when I import my save.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

ME 1
Well I'll be damned. All the times playing this game, the hours, the playthroughs, and how much time I have spent with Virmire being one of my favorite levels to...have discovered what I am pretty sure is new content I never have. In this case it turns out there are two groups of Salarian prisoners. One of them and then the other one...where you have to choose to keep the guy in there, and then mercy kill the others in the room. This also netted me 10 more renegade points... which if I am right means that I am in quite a good position to get to the renegade ending for this game.
Which I also killed Rana off this time to. Occured to me that this might, of course, count as metagaming which is something to always watch out for but at least in the way I play these games kind of unavoidable...maybe. Though since this is Abby at her most 'ruthless' so it does make a fair bit of sense and well she was also raising everything to the ground in the base anyways.
Speaking of doing different things continuing on with the theme of hanging up on the Council. This time I did push it a little though because I figured her emotions would still be pretty raw from having to kill Kaidan and the 'here's another saying...go to hell!' is worth it. But I do find it amusing that I did disconnect after the Asari Councilor went out of her way to calm the situation down. Its like...and now I've had enough of this. Oh yeah and continuing on with the general theme of the night to I went full renegade on Liara and just burst out cackling for quite awhile 'we don't have time for this...snap out of it!' when she was acting like....oh woe...I am so weak Shepard *fans self*

Thessia. God Javik is the ultimate troll. The whole Athame debunking is gold. " Asari are observant, easily confused as well" needless to say Shepard was pissed after the mission. Snapping at joker, kicking allers off the ship, I even used the renegade dialogue with Liara in her cabin 😈 the only other time he's been this pissed was after virmire. Wish there was an option to chew out the asari councillor for waiting this long to share sensitive information. But oh well guess sad Pikachu Shep will have to do.

ME 1So...yeah trying to see here. Told off Sarachino which is always a nice little moment. "I respect you have a right to an opinion but cannot support it." So I actually didn't have to much trouble on Illos for once. I did seem to remember that the elevator to the underground was tucked into the back of...the area it was tagged in the back of. More to the point though something I should try and keep in mind going forward is that lack of 3D thinking here but one of my mistakes is I go to the x on the map and it leads me to the elevator...turns out that is on the top of the actual elevator which is just below it. Hmm maybe writing it down will help me. And from there the final mission. And I must first of all say...perhaps somewhat awkwardly given how much I decided to go about doing this... BUT I DID IT! j I did indeed get the renegade ending for the game which lead me to getting the bad ass picture that is one of my favorite pictures of all time. Of course I do find it ironic and maybe a bit weird for the future but she just finished within a hair's breath of being a renegon. I didn't actually know but you got 25 renegade points for having Saren commit suicide. It makes me wonder what effect this will have on ME 2 since somehow for my Original OT run when I did this I imported into ME 2 with equal points of renegade and paragon points...and then maxed out both bars in the game. Wonder what will happen there. And this all led to another 'she is so mean' conversation with wifey which was starting to get annoying. Though I suppose this is a microcasm for the macrocasm in a weird way considering that is one of the tensions I have created within the character. Having people like Charles Sarachino and the Illusive Man thinking she is one of them because of how aggressive she is with the Council and how she does want to put humanity first...but also believes in building alliances in there is no inherent human superiority in the mind set either. She does not want humanity to rule, she just wanted to defeat Soverign. Which is what I told her to but she was like 'yeah this shows that humanity doesen't have to be selfish' and I'm like 'its not about being selfish it was practical, we don't know Soverign's capabilities'. Which is apprepro since one has to wonder if the fleet could have defeated him without the weird download into Saren. Of course Udina then used the crisis to his and humanity's benefit... or at least their own power trip. Which is actually quite telling given ME 3... and then Anderson ending up agreeing with him in the end to adds more context to Abigail's dissapointment with him in ME 2 as well and how he wasn't able to effect change, if you remeber, that was a thing from the logs I was writing. So in that vain to I was tempted for like 2 seconds to have Abby throw up her arms and say 'I don't care' out of frustration but in the end Anderson is still the best choice from her POV on this matter and the best chance to stop the Reapers because she don't have hindsight. Which then this whole thing does lead to another niggle, just wonder if how horrified she is over what she did and how it was taken advantage of is another reason she gets more paragon in the sequels. Sure still has a mean/practical/ ruthless streak but her evolution from Renegade to Paragon might begin by her realization that she has to be careful with her actions.

ME 2So the answer to the question was 190 renegade points and 174 paragon instead of the 182 of each that I did last time... I think Of course the following issue was compounded by the fact I seem to have forgotten how to be able to customize your Shepard's face in ME 2...but then that is what I have the character codes for. But then the usual questions followed...is this right? Did it import right? How crushed in is the face? Is the armor looking right? And I do not think I got it right at all honestly...oh yes and is the HDR balanced? Is the hair red? Descisions and doubts, doubts and decisions. Didn't get very far in it only completed Freedom's Progress and got the Normandy. Me and wifey had good fun trolling the game and making our own levels of gamer poop esque jokes on it...of which she swore me not to repeat on here...but alas that is an advantage of playing a game for like 20 times you don't have to pay AS close attention. Of note though think this is something I should have mentioned but don't think I ever have but the opening mission does actually a good job of establishing a red hearring. Now of course you know better and marketing might have spoiled it back in the day but I think it did a pretty good job of selling you on the fact it was Miranda who was trying to kill you while also back log including the reason Wilson did. Having Wilson call out her behavior while also menioning his own resentment at TIM...good stuff. Glad I am playing on Hardcore this round. It is annoying basically having to go through and get all the weapons AGAIN for ME 3 and get them properly upgraded and what not and starting off with that pee shooter Avenger. On that note I had my usual trouble with Freedom's Progress not as bad. Only died once I think the entire mission...and I think I didn't even lose anyone against the YMIR boss fight. Abby also made sure Veetor went home. Biggest RP regret so far? I forgot to have Shepard mention that all her parts were there...well I think you know the line. Oops.

Shepard shuts down any talk of a secret covert mission to Eden prime. He of course knows it too be true, but nevertheless need to know basis exists for a reason. He warns corporal Jenkins of being too eager. Shepard didn't think much of Jenkins, seeing him as naive and overly idealistic. But as long as he obeyed orders he was fine to come along. Shepard greets the spectre nihlus with a cold indifference. Shepard shows reluctance upon learning his own nomination for a spectre, not wanting his future to be decided by anyone but himself. The mission was to find and retrieve a prothean beacon. Sounds easy enough. And Shepard was keen to show up the Turian spectre.
Quickly after landing on Eden prime corporal Jenkins is gunned down by an unknown enemy force.. Shepard, who previously warned Jenkins of being too eager, shows little emotion at the loss. Simply telling akenko that soilders die and the rest must carry on. Enter Ashley Williams, a lone survivor of the 212. Williams insists on joining the pair. Hoping to avenge her lost squad. Shepard is reluctant to allow an untested, unproved marine with a death wish onto his squad but figured she knows more about the colony than he did and decided to bring her along... While sternly reminding her who's in charge.
The group than comes across a pair of scientists.. one calm and level headed, the other a raving lunatic. The latter was spouting nonsense and Shepard, not wanting the mentally ill man to give away their location to the geth very with his loud rambling, decided to knock the man out with a swift punch, letting off a cheeky smile as he does so. He always enjoyed knocking out irritating people.
After another firefight with the geth the group comes across a bunch of farmers. While seeming insignificant at first, it is quickly revealed that one of the farmers was hoarding alliance equipment for his own personal gain. Shepard strong arms the group into giving up the equipment and the name of the smuggler.
Nihlus' dead body brings a chill to Shepard's spine. The examination of the scene is quickly interrupted by a man who was sneaking around behind the crates. Shepard questions him as he is the only eye witness. He says another Turian named Saren is responsible for nihlus'death. Finally an enemy worthy of Shepard's time. Shepard scolds the man for his laziness and inaction. As they're talking it becomes apparent to Shepard that this is the same man conspiring with the farmers to steal alliance equipment. Shepard reminds the man of the alliances loss at the cost of protecting the colony and guilt trips the man into giving up any hidden resources he's aqquired. Shepard impressed at his own restraint.
Shepard and his squad eventually come across several well placed explosives. It seems this Saren is attempting to destroy the colony to cover his tracks. Not on my watch, Shepard thinks to himself. Shepard easily disables the bombs while his team take on the geth. Guess it's a good thing Shepard took a course in bomb disposal. The group finally come across the beacon, Shepard's calls it in only to be tasked with saving Ashley, who had gotten too close to the beacon and was being sucked it to it's gravitational pulse. Shepard Manages to save her but he himself gets pulled in. His mind being imprinted with the contents of the beacon before getting knocked out unconscious.
Shepard wakes up on the Normandy 15 hours later. Captain Anderson explains that Saren is a bigoted spectre with a grudge against humans. Shepard knows a worthy adversary when he sees one. Finally the challenge Shepard has longed for, an enemy worthy of his time. Shepard has lacked a real challenge since torfan. He was going to bring Saren down. No matter what the cost!

ME 2So I think I have done things a little different then my usual way of doing things. Normally I rush right off to Anderson to consult with him on the situation and what is going on, get dissillusioned, off to everything else. Instead I borrowed from my book of how I typically do games and ME games and ME 1 and 'talk to everyone' as soon as I complete a story mission...which Freedom's Progress counts. Though it is kind of weird having buyer's remorse since I have now realized that means she was talking to everyone with those stupid scares. From there though, Mattock conversation. There was a huge stink when a patch came out that reduced the number of creds that transferred. People were concerned that their wouldn't be enough. And well I had enough for the Mattock...and then some. Kinda weird the Mattock is off with Ken of all people though so at first I solved a good deal of his problems with Harrot on the way to doing it...and ME 2 Mattock, ME 2 Revenant, and ME 3 Valkyrie, the three best sounding guns in the entire series. Which kind of weird the sequels made them a little less distinct and punch. Especially the Mattock that thing sounds like it means business with each shot. And it hits pretty strong to just the one weakness is that spare ammo capacity so yeah the Revenant still beats it out by a smidge. Can't wait to get that beuty in Abby's arsenal. And yeah met Mordin. Weirdly enough, maybe in the vain of just thinking aabout things to talk about...but it did strike me as odd that Mordin didn't recognize Shepard and maybe think that this was a Spectre operation and not Cerberus. Afterall this was fairly public and he is fairly smart and with...you know I just realized its not been established just how long he has been working on Omega so nevermind.

As I was looking over the screenshots I've taken over the last few days, I came across one I took when dealing with the exploding mechs. It has a log from a Keith Gamble. Just thought I mention this since the last name is the same as Mike Gamble who works for Bioware.

Told off a big stupid jellyfish and scolded an incompetent C sec officer in the process. Killed Fist 👊 and delivered the evidence to Wong. Then intimidated her into giving me more credits. Sheps such a gentleman. Signed an autograph for Conrad. Normally this Shepard's not that nice but anyone pandering to his ego is ok in his book. Recruited the aliens. Gave a very pro human speech aboard the Normandy. Recruited another alien. And than shoved my boot up elanous halliots ass.
