From the Personal Logs of the SSV Normandy Commander Abigail Shepard, CO SSV Normandy reporting.
I am kind of confused by what happened, whether or not Helena Blake is operating, or not. Still, not that I really care because either way she is small beans. I have still stopped her two slaving members of the gang so I am now off to Novaria.
Which seems to be a real hive of...well peole I can sort of semi respect. Who also is weirdly backstabbing, tripple dealing, and everyone has their own agendas. Nevertheless after dealing with the backroom politics we were off to Peak 15...
Where surprise surprise Benezia, and apparently er entire commando unit, were indoctrinated. But they did give us clues to our next target. The Mu relay.
Though what was a surprise is they were breeding Rachni. Must be the reason for the Rachni like creatures we have seen when hitting the Cerberus facilities...what Cerberus and Benezia have in common I do not yet know. But, they are out there. Apparently waiting for us. I spared the queen though. After human history, I do not want to commit genocide unless I absolutley have to.
On a personal note seems me and the Lieutenant...Kaidan Alenko...are getting closer. So during the commando fight, which is difficult enough to begin with, my game really glitched out, Shepard was realllly stuck and could hardly move, though for some reason it did not matter and the geth did not take advantage of the situation.

Karen Shepard, Soldier (Shock Trooper), ME1 NG+: Normandy: Post Noveria Shepard checked in with the crew, to see if they had any thoughts on the Noveria mission or any other issues they wanted to discuss: - Joker made some wisecracks. His nickname was well chosen. - Tali expressed pride at being part of the effort to stop Saren, and was grateful to Shepard for treating her as an equal, as opposed to the discrimination quarians usually experienced. Shepard was glad her friend was happy. - Ashley told Shepard she should talk to Liara, who was likely hurting over the death of her mother. Shepard had planned to do that anyway, but was glad to see that members of her crew were concerned about each other. It was Armistice Day, the anniversary of the end of the First Contact War, and Ashely revealed that she was the grand-daughter of General Williams, the Alliance officer who surrendered at Shanxi in order to save the colony. It explained a lot about her outlook, and how determined she was to succeed and redeem her family name. - Wrex and Shepard talked more about Wrex's life as a merc, how he was always running into other krogan mercenaries, often even hired to kill them. The plight of his people obviously bothered him. He considered the krogan a lost cause; Shepard hoped he was wrong, but understood his feelings. He claimed the life of a merc wasn't all bad, and that he had tried serving in bigger, private military companies, but that it usually got "messy" and he preferred working small groups. - Garrus expressed concern that the Council might be protecting Saren, and was of the opinion that when they caught up to him they should make sure he didn't survive the encounter, lest he escape or persuade the Council to take his side. Shepard felt that killing Saren should be the last resort, but she didn't have much confidence that they would be able to take him alive anyway. She did appreciate Garrus' determination to bring Saren to justice, though. - Kaidan continued the story of what had happened to him at BAaT, and revealed that the turian instructor, Vyrnnus, had hurt Rahna, the girl he cared for. Kaidan snapped, and accidentally killed Vyrnnus. The scandal eventually led to the program shutting down, and ever since Kaidan had fought to maintain control. - Shepard went to Liara to express her sympathies over Benezia. Liara was appreciative, but insisted she was fine. Shepard remembered Liara's discussion of asari life spans - those talks were about how asari dealt with the inevitable loss of their shorter lived romantic partners, but Shepard realized it would apply equally to family members and others they cared for. Liara would remember Benezia for the good person she had been, not what she had become when corrupted by Saren and Sovereign's influence. She promised her grief would not interfere with the job they had to do.
Shepard went to the Citadel and picked up some armour upgrades to increase medigel capacity. At the embassy, Udina was predictably upset about Shepard releasing the rachni queen, but Anderson felt Shepard had made the correct decision. Voyager Cluster - Binthu (Cerberus) Shepard ordered the Normandy to travel to Binthu in the Yangtze system of the Voyager Cluster, to begin to investigate Admiral Kahoku's intel about illegal experiments being performed in Cerberus outposts on the planet. The planetary database had little information about Binthu, and Shepard suspected tampering by Cerberus spies to try and keep their activities hidden.
Shepard, Liara, and Tali discovered three Cerberus facilities on the planet and defeated the Cerberus forces stationed in each. In the first, they discovered that Cerberus were experimenting with Rachni Workers. Shepard wondered how they acquired them - were there links between Cerberus and Binary Helix (and by extension, Saren), or were there other derelict rachni ships out there other than the one found by BH?
In the second outpost they were attacked by Thorian creepers, suggesting that Cerberus and ExoGeni Corp were doing business together. At the third outpost, they found a Rachni Soldier imprisoned in a force field, along with the body of Admiral Kahoku. He appeared to have died from a lethal injection, not from the rachni, which implied that Cerberus had executed him. They also found information that gave the location of another Cerberus base in the Columbia system. The couldn't bring the Admiral back, but hopefully they could put an end to all of Cerberus' illegal research activities in the Voyager cluster.
Near one of the Cerberus facilities there was another of the pyramid shaped Prothean ruin sites, with an intact data disc. They also salvaged a crashed probe and flagged some mineral deposits for the Alliance Geological Service.
Voyager Cluster - Nepheron (Hades' Dogs) Shepard, Liara, and Tali assaulted the Cerberus outpost on Nepheron in the Columbia system. After defeating the Cerberus forces, Shepard found a terminal and downloaded as much data as possible before a security program erased it all. The data was no doubt encrypted, but hopefully useful intel could be obtained from it to help wipe out the organization for good.
Elsewhere on Nepheron they also found some resource deposits, some salvage from a crashed probe, and a body holding an ID tag from the Salarian STG operative Captain Varsinth (but no clues as to how it ended up there).
They also found an abandoned pre-fab building in a valley that also had a crashed vehicle in it. As they approached the structure, they found out what had destroyed the vehicle - a thresher maw leaped out of the ground and attacked. They managed to bring it down, then investigated the structure. There didn't seem to be any indication of who built it or why it was there, or why it was located so close to a thresher nest. Was it Cerberus, or just some unfortunate explorer who picked the wrong camp site?

Miriam Shepard encountered some rachni...
Ordered the Normandy to Utukku in the Attican Traverse to search for a krogan scout party reported missing by Wrex. They had been investigating suspected rachni activity.
Went planetside with James and Javik. En route, Javik explained that rachni were active during Prothean cycle, bred by Protheans for violence, used as weapons, then exterminated when out of control. (Prothean treatment of rachni not unlike salarian treatment of krogan).
Met by Urdnot Grunt, now commander of Aralakh Company. Good to see him again; still a berserker, itching for battle. Obtained M-300 Claymore heavy shotgun; new model with reduced recoil. Decided to evaluate it immediately.
Descended into caverns the hard way; got separated from Grunt's squad. Proceeded through caverns; pitch-dark, necessitating use of flashlights. Found fallen krogan scouts; one turned out to be Charr, previously encountered in Nos Astra during Collector crisis. Found Reaper tech and large insect eggs.
Deeper inside caverns, encountered heavy resistant from human and batarian husks, and modified rachni soldiers outfitted with heavy cannons. M-300 Claymore effective, but power transfer from L5n amp to hardsuit ergonomics proved disadvantageous; will revert to Adas for next mission. Javik's "Dark Channel" ability and Prothean particle rifle proved highly effective, especially in concert with L5n abilities for biotic detonations.
Discovered rachni queen in centre of caverns, captured by Reapers, forced to breed soldiers for Reaper use. Queen spoke through bodies of fallen krogan, requested to be freed, promised to fight Reapers upon release. Determined that allowing the queen to leave would cost the lives of entire Aralakh squad defending her escape. Furthermore, if captured once, she could be captured again; production of soldiers would restart. Reluctantly decided leaving her behind to be best course of action. Queen accepted death without protest.
Retreated to shuttle with Aralakh Company; Grunt stayed behind to cover escape, then emerged from the fray, bloodied and exhausted but alive.
Hackett supported decision to abandon rachni queen; his approval doesn't make it easier. Hardest command call since Virmire. History may condemn this decision; rachni species now likely extinct.
Approached by Liara regarding a personal project; she has constructed time capsules containing information about the current cycle, the Reapers and the Crucible. If the war is lost, the capsules may help the people of the next cycle to win. Hopefully it won't come to that.
Returned to the Citadel. Broke the news about Charr to his wife, Ereba.
Tracked down a turian officer and turned over the Banner of the First Regiment, recovered by Normandy while searching the Apien Crest. Turian morale boosted by recovery of banner. After the rachni events, this good news was more than welcome.
At James' suggestion, bought a round of drinks for some off-duty Alliance marines in the Purgatory bar. (Messed the toast up, though; marines and naval officers have different traditions).
Overheard Liara and Aethyta discussion another of Aethyta's children. Liara has a half-sister with a hanar father. Mind blown.
[Despite going into this mission fully intending to save the queen, when the dialogue wheel popped up I found myself wondering whether a Paragon might consider making the opposite decision; what might motivate the decision and how she might justify it.
Switching to the Claymore proved to be the wrong decision. So many deaths! Insanity really did feel insane! I use the Claymore in multiplayer, but not on vanguards because I find it too heavy; I use it on infiltrators exclusively. Miriam's cooldown with the Claymore was 96%, versus around 160% with the Adas. Turned out to make quite a bit of difference, less frequent Charging made for less survivability. There was also the slow reload after one shot to contend with (due to multiplayer, I'm only conditioned for effective reload-cancelling when playing infiltrators), and the shortage of ammo. Still, made it through without reducing the difficulty level.
Even if I'd had the Adas, I suspect this would not have been a good mission for vanguarding due to the constant pressure from Ravagers.
Grunt's Crowning Moment of Awesome at the end was just as awesome the second time around.]

Well I didn't do this today, did it on Thursday?, the SM mission. Miranda lead the first fire team, Garrus the 2nd, Legion in the vents, Morinth holding the bubble. Brought Mordin & Miranda to fight the baby reaper. Kept the base, nobody is happy about that, well, the Illusive man is. Oh well. No casualties, crew and team all made it out. Started Overlord, Legion and Miranda will be tagging along. Never actually got that data packages trophy either, will have to get on that. edit: 800th post, nice.

Mark Shepard:
Citadel, Factory District (continued): Some of the Blue Suns mercs I'm getting to kill are also batarians. I'm from Mindoir. Win-win!
As we get closer to "Fade" I try to suggest maybe Garrus not kill Sidonis, or even Harkin. I know I pushed him in the direction of becoming a Spectre back aboard the SR-1 but I always knew when the push a guy through a window (hint: Eclipse mercs are always good for that) and when to let them walk. And vengeance hasn't really been my thing. Always looking to save as many as I can and put down the bad guys. I don't like batarians but not too long ago I was giving one infected with a plague some medi-gel. If I were running on vengeance I'd have killed him in a heartbeat. Don't want that for Garrus. Ultimately it's his choice but I'm hoping he'll decide on something less based in anger.
When we got to Sidonis I convinced Garrus to let me talk to him. He agreed but lined up a shot. While talking it became clear that Sidonis was more of a coward than anything and was paying for it with little sleep, nightmares and the kind of dreariness about him that suggests depression. Definitely has a guilty conscience, something which a brutal killer doesn't have. In the end, Garrus backed down. I had hoped he would. Maybe I need to be a better example for him.
Since we were here, Thane also had a problem that needed to be taken care of. His son, Kolyat, had decided to become an assassin. Unlike Thane, he was not highly trained. He was likely to harm himself, both physically and mentally. Thane wanted to stop him from going through with the assassination. Captain Bailey again helped out, pointing us to an informant named Mouse. As it turned out, Mouse had known Thane since he was a child. It cost me money, but I got the info out of him. I also got a Shepard VI from him that had been made in my long absence. It's garbage but a reminder of how things kept going on while I was out of commission.
Had Bailey bring in Elias Kelham for questioning. Thane and I took him into a private interrogation room and strapped him down. I played bad cop, mostly because I thought Thane's spiritual nature wouldn't let him play rough. I slapped Kelham a couple of times but he was resistant to say who had hired Kolyat. Finally, I threatened to cut off his balls. That did the trick. The target was a turian named Joram Talid who is running on an anti-human platform. It's been bad on the Citadel ever since the Council died aboard the Destiny Ascension during Sovereign's attack. Since humans were placed in the top tier of power it was considered by many as a coup. Curious how my choices have played out.

I missed posting a few days this week, but basically I loaded up some old ME3 Sentinel saves so I could record some dialogue for a video compilation. I also fooled around a bit with a Barrier detonation playstyle, but much like the last time I tried something similar... it just sucks. Detonating your barrier does not detonate biotic combos, only primes. Might it work better on an Adept than a Sentinel? Cluster grenades are a universal detonator (I think), with no cooldown. It'd smack of being a gimmick playstyle though; again, you'd have far better options. Cluster grenades (like all other grenades) are a limited resource, and grenade pickups on missions vary wildly from mission to mission. Relying on grenades for detonation would be a bad idea. I had tried Barrier on an Adept about a year or so ago with pretty much the same result: you can make it work, but like you said it is extremely gimmicky and you have better options. It's a wasted ability.

Never use the Claymore I unless you are an Infiltrator, and even then I would avoid using the Claymore I. The Claymore is a heavy weapon to begin with, but at rank I it is just too heavy for its own good, especially since it only has like 8-9 shots total. And ammo pickups on Utukku can be weird, especially on that last fight. It is a little better after you upgrade it. In New Games (after upgrading it to V), it can help a bit if you equip some Power Cooldown armor. Vanguard has some good weapon damage bonuses in passive and Charge, plus Vanguard also has access to Incendiary Ammo with Explosive burst at rank 6. Plus Nova with Half Blast. (Vanguard can be really good with the Claymore is what I am trying to say.)

Killed one of my comarades due to being a nice Shepard on his loyality mission. The fault is not being renegade. Hehe, reminds me. I should beat ME:1 twice so that I have a two default templates i use whenever I play ME:2. Cause I want to kill Ashley. No Ashley makes me happy, Kaidan also does. Overall, I think ME:2.is the Origins of the ME universe, the first was kind of in the terrain of DA:2 (sorry, but it's true, DA:2 is kind of meh.)

Filed under: Personal Jack and Vakarian are taken care of. I'm pleased this is out of the way, since both of them were deep into their revenge and would've been too distracted for the mission. Jack was having second thoughts about blowing up the Cerberus facility she was kept in as a child at first, but she's easily influenceable. We found a man in there, one of the survivors from this place, who wanted to restart the facility. Jack pulled out her gun and I didn't think she'd have the guts to shoot him, but a little nudge from me into this direction made her do it. We blew the place and I saw that Jack is grateful. Good, very good. She owes me and she knows it. She won't try to pull any more shit, even though she threatened Miranda as soon as we returned to the Normandy. I get she hates Cerberus, but I won't tolerate her outbursts on this ship. Good for the health of both of them they quit bickering on my orders. Vakarian's revenge trip was... interesting. We stumbled upon dear Harkin, whom I despised from the moment I first met him. What a cretin. He was our ticket to Sidonis, Vakarian's target, as he was the one that made Sidonis disappear. Harkin set up a meeting with Sidonis and Vakarian shot him in the leg as a Goodbye. Mh, I would've shot a bit higher than that. I didn't see any point in letting Sidonis live, I just didn't care. I only cared about Vakarian getting his revenge and not getting sidetracked anymore by this. Success, I'd say. The justicar and Krios now also pulled me into their family affairs. Does this ever stop? Seeing all this I'm almost happy I never had any family. Made me strong. After these little chats, the Illusive Bastard sent me to investigate a disabled Collector ship. It was a trap. I have underestimated him. I didn't anticipate he'd play with our lives that way, but I know better now. My lack of trust in him has turned to absolute disgust. Maybe I should applaud him for playing me, but I am too enraged about it. No one plays with me. I'm retaining my composure, but I will not forget this. Lucky for him I don't know where he hides, and this smart-ass AI on board could actually dig up some information on how we could get through the Omega 4 Relay unharmed. Just need to take care of some more things first. Some more pics: Ahahahaaa, Collector Ship was SO much fun I almost rage-quitted. I died around 4 times or so, got a lockup, charged the husks during the Praetorian section which made all enemies disappear but then I was stuck inside this room and even though EDI said her texts about opening the door, it didn't open So I had to reload, and generally, my squad sucked during this mission since every enemy on Insanity has a protection layer and I only had Miranda to do some Warp damage (when she was not dead ). My own fault for taking Jacob everywhere I guess I ended up using Dominate a lot more than charging enemies because I'm definitely not comfortable (and good enough) to charge everything I see and actually survive that, hehe. Maybe some day (one can dream, right?). I tested the Scimitar a little during missions earlier and kinda liked it, and now I picked the Claymore. So low on ammo, but pretty good on a Vanguard I think. Still love the Eviscerator, but I have to play around some more with different Shotguns to eventually pick a favourite (it could also be depending on the build I guess). I cannot do the Claymore reload trick yet, so I need to practice that a lot. Jack's and Garrus' LM were almost equally fun and I died at least once in each Still I enjoy playing Neva a lot, though Vanguard is indeed high risk.

From the Personal Logs of the SSV Normandy Commander's Log April 7 2183, Commander Abigail Shepard Reporting, SSV Normandy.
Visited the Citadel again on the way to pick up supplies, and my fan wasn't there. Huh.
Anyways then we set off for the Styx Theta Cluster. Intel had it that there was a fire team in trouble out there. We hit a listening post first and get a message from another listening post which was being over run by hostile life forms. (In this case Rachni again, more fall out), and then we headed off to take care of them. I hope we can make it in time. Ah yes the Starship Troopers Quest line. I love it. Except this time I nearly got the Mako blown up, the whole thing was red, and two applications of Omni-gel have not repaired the thing entirely. It was just sitting there crackling meerily and I was like ''ok must be nothing' look over after all the Rachni are dead and I see the thing is barbeque. I thought to myself 'Adams is going to kill me.'

Filed under: Personal If there's one other place that's worse than Omega, it's Tuchanka. Krogan get on my nerves. Such a vile, savage race. Thankfully we dealt rather fast with their clan leader and went on to look for Dr. Solus's protégé. As it turned out, this Maelon didn't need our help, didn't need to be rescued. Instead he worked with the krogan in order to cure the genophage. We had come across Maelon's experiments earlier and Dr. Solus wasn't too pleased with how his former student conducted them. Upon meeting Maelon, the doctor showed his ruthless side, another point why he is a valuable asset to the team. In addition to his scientific background, he killed his former student without batting an eye. I had to convince him though to delete Maelon's research data. The genophage was definitely the right call and the krogan cannot be unleashed upon the galaxy again, this would be a fatal mistake. When talking to the doctor back on the Normandy he appeared fine. Very fascinating creatures, salarians. Deal with emotions and events fast, a remarkable trait. I ordered Moreau to plot course to Haestrom, to find Tali'Zorah vas Neema next, the last on the list of the Illusive Man's dossiers. Vanguarding adventures: That was A LOT of fun! This mission went so smooth, except for dying once in the krogan clan speaker room. But other than that, it was a blast. Jacob is a pretty good squadmate whenever I can pull something. His incendiary ammo also came in handy for this mission, even though I still use Cryo ammo for Neva, and that won't change Damage output of the Claymore is pretty neat, I really like it. And now I have more ammo capacity thanks to another upgrade, woohoo!

Having returned to Mass Effect (3) after an extremely long break, I have spent the majority of my time editing the coalesced.bin, re-editing the coalesced.bin, and then fixing my mistakes in the coalesced.bin and editing it some more.
I downloaded approximately 20% of ALOT, watched the Genesis comic opening twice, fixed the resulting save with gibbed, created a really nice femshep that I didn't want because I'm playing Sheploo, designed two separate ReShade configs, and got as far as reaching the Normandy for the first time.
Not a bad few days work.

From the Personal Logs of the SSV Normandy: Aprill 11, 2183, Commander Abigail Shepard Reporting, CO, SSV Normandy
Today is my birthday, well the end of my birthday anyway. And I am the only one who has any idea. Worse still had to deal with Batarian terrorists. Again. We recieved a distress call from the Terra Nova Colony. Their asteroid was on a course to destroy them. Long story short though they were running an experiment and a bunch of Batarians had hijacked it. The Batarians were led by a man named Balak, at the end, he told me he would let the hostages live if I let him go. I pusrued and captured him. I could not take the risk he would want to go and do this again, and next time I may not be around to stop him. So, I captured him instead. Though he does have a lot of bullet holes in him.
April 22nd, 2183.
Ashley is Dead. It was either her or Kaidan. And I had to take the opprotunity. After all it was the nuke or one of my friends. I had to chose the mission no matter what. I am just so sick of loosing people. Even though Kaidan and I are going closer...I wonder if it is worth it or not. Still, the mission was a success, we are now onto the Citadel to gather with the rest of the fleet. Hopefully they will authorize a strike on Illos soon.
May 5, 2183
It is over. Soverign is defeated. Saren is dead. And the Council has joined them in death. Udina is talking about creating an all human council to control 'Council Space' That is not why I did it. I did not do it so humanity could be top dogs and the bullies of the galaxy like the Council was I did it for practical purposes. But I was hoping, God was I hoping, that we would learn from our mistakes. That, and for no other reason, led me to nominate Anderson for the position. Udina does nt get it, all he sees is power. Hopefully Anderson can maintain the threat and keep and eye on it.
With many of the Council Spectres dead and with reports of increasing Geth activity on the frontier, starships have been dissapearing, we are off to investagate within the week.
On a personal note I do wonder where the relationship between me and Lieutenant Alenko is going, it may be a bit of an extravagance. But, I wonder if maybe I deserve some happiness. So as you can see I marathoned through ME 1 last night. I finished it. I always do love Virmire and it was fun. Though, I do not know why, but this is the first time Abigail Shepard has been what one might call a full on paragon. She is usually...pretty even in her bars of Paragon and renegade. But despite all the mean things she was doing and saying, she continued to be a full paragon. Yick. And I guess for the moment that is it.

Mark Shepard
Citadel, Factory District (continued): Joram Talid really does hate humans. He considers us as having taken control of the Council via a coup. I wonder if he really believes that or it's just election propaganda. While following from Keeper platforms, I saw Talid engage in two shakedowns. Then he met with some krogan members of the Blood Pack. Well, you know how I feel about mercenaries.
Ran into a stock boy. Looked like he might have been trouble. Punched him in the gut to take the wind out of him. I'm sure he'll report it but, hey, I'm a rogue Spectre. I can do whatever I've got to do to complete my mission.
Saw Kolyat making his way toward Talid, gun drawn. Thane and I both jumped in, following them to Talid's apartment. Inside, Kolyat had Talid on his knees, ready to kill him execution style. We distracted him and I shot the gun out of his hand. C-Sec arrived to arrest Kolyat but then Bailey told his men to escort Kolyat and Thane back to the precinct and to give them a room and as much time as they needed. Bailey's got scars of his own that led to this decision. When I suggested that Bailey leave this out of the courts and give Kolyat community service, he actually said he'd think about it. And he did because Kolyat never did go to jail.
Lorek: EDI detected Cerberus encryption from a deep cover operative. Also found transmissions matching Eclipse. Whatever happens, someone I don't like is going to die. Upon investigating, Eclipse had captured Cerberus agent Tyrone Rawlings to get a Cerberus encryption cipher to access some data files they had acquired. Rawlings died in interrogation.
Found the data, which is when EDI chimed in, saying it could adversely affect Cerberus if it were circulated. I had three options: 1) keep the data for myself to use as potential blackmail material against the Illusive Man, 2) give it to Cerberus or 3) send it to the Alliance. I think I know where my loyalties lie, even if I'm away for now. I sent it to the Alliance. Honestly, the Illusive Man can fire me if he wants but he needs to know I'm not his man.

From the Personal Logs of the SSV Normandy Abigail Shepard Reporting, Former Commander, Systems Alliance, May 2nd, 2185.
I died.
Isn't that absurd?
I died. And I am here writing about it. Personally I would have rather stayed dead. But since Cerberus agent Miranda Lawson took the time to revive me apparently I do not get a vote. Might as well make the best of the situation as I possibly can?
Nevertheless I am not even done yet and I am already getting attacked by a bunch of crazy mechs, meet this guy named Jacon, and Miranda. They are working for Cerberus, the terrorist organization I hunted down back...well before I died. I figure I owe them some chance again, but again, they did save my life.
May 4th, 2185.
The Illusive Man does not seem to be the monster people make him out to be. Which is a bit...weird...considering what Cerberus was up to during the incident with Saren. But they seem to have the right idea when it comes to hunting down the Collectors and seem to want to advance humanity's interests. Given I want to do so too, and given the human council is not the direction I wanted to take, the better this course of action may be.
Plus, I can virtually go around the Galaxy and do what I want without having to check in.
The benefit of course is I can roam about the Galaxy virtually at my leisure. I don't know how they did it but they have built a new, and improved, SR 2. With that, and without lack of wasteful political over sight, this could wind up being a great thing for me indeed. So I admit I am a bit...annoyed. First of all when I imported my ME 2 save into this ME 2 playthrough I noticed the Paragon and Renegade boost I got from my ME 1 playthrough (when I imported it originally years ago) did not go through. Not too big of a deal but likely means my Shepard will get MC'd by poor Morinth. But, much worse, is my weapons did not go over. Not my heavy, not my regular. I am stuck with the basic weapons till I go and find them all again throughout the game. The thing is, I was able to do this before. I imported my ME 2 save into ME 2 before and had all weapons, Cain, Widow, etc. But now I can't use the Revenant, which is..weird. Weirder still my custom armor I had in ME 2 imported over and the wiki says your weapons can...just mine haven't. If this continues and I cannot find a workable solution just going to probably pull a DA I and do a lot of the side quests waiting for the collector ship to hit me, but we'll see.

Importing an ME2 save into ME2 seems to not really be worth it. It's not like you can level up any more (probably) and, as you've discovered, pretty much nothing carries over. Also, don't enemies scale? So, if you're a high level but have crap weapons with no upgrades, that's a recipe for disaster.
Leave Grunt in the tank until you're ready for Horizon. You can do everything available without triggering it so long as you don't have 8 squadmates yet. After Horizon, go get Tali, then park the Normandy at Ilium to do everything there. You should have quite a few upgrades by then.

I think there's even a loading screen tooltip that says the same thing (especially wrt heavy weapons) but I've never seen it happen in my games.

Luke was busy today. Did the Quarian missions, Thessia, Leviathan, Citadel dlc (-party) and Sanctuary. Quarian mission ended in side picking, Luke picked to Quarians, since he really disliked Geth after Eden Prime, Legion had been shipped off to Cerebus for testing and he was sick of how the Geth kept things from him. Put info in the time capsule afterwards, which will prove useful if my plans go as planned. Thessia was Thessia. Combat went well, Kai Leng had nice hair, yadda yadda yadda. Comforted Liara after the mission.
Leviathan was Leviathan. The combat was a pain, but Luke had a handy dandy cloak that let him ignore some of the fighting. The loading screens were so lovely and the underwater walk made everything worth it. Leviathan himself was disappointing (but handsome) as usual, but to busy drooling over the scenery to be bothered. Really, really, really hope Andromeda has some underwater exploration. Also loved the little choir(?) background music. Oh and Ann made it out with some minor head injuries.
Citadel went surprisingly well. Luke flickers between being okay and really good in combat and this time around, he was really good. Cloaking made the solo part bearable, even if Luke had a nasty habit of leaving one bar of health from his headshots. Also, some of the mercenaries cheated and tried to shoot Luke even if he was cloaked and had made no hostile movement. :C. But then again, they probably knew they were dealing with an infiltrator and made according adjustments... Did die a couple of times in the end, but it never felt overwhelming, just a bit of bad luck. Tried to save his counterpart, shot the lady companion at point blank range. Treason to the alliance is one of those things Luke cannot abide with. Or something like that. Also got Liara's Citadel scene for the first time in forever. Forgot how nice the song sounded.
Sanctuary was fun as well. Saw it the first time without Miranda today and learned that Oriana has a lovely accent. Somehow she managed to find out who Miranda was, even if Shepard told Miranda not to talk to her at the end of the loyalty mission. But that means that Miranda's survival chances increased for other runs, so I'm fine with that. Luke shot Henry after fooling him with a paragon diplomatic check.
Ended the session with deliveries. Luke's next session will probably be the last meet ups, party and then the end game. Good times.

Omega: First up, deliver the intel that the mercs on Omega were planning on going after Aria once they'd defeated Archangel. She wasn't pleased that her own people hadn't caught it but she liked me more. That's useful. She also pointed me in the direction of where she thought I might find an Ardat-Yakshi.
Spoke to a woman Diana whose daughter Nef died a week prior. No one has offered to help her seek justice. Nef was a loner and artistic. According to Samara, that's the kind of person Morinth (Samara's daughter) would go after. Her diary indicated she had low self-worth and that Morinth gave her attention. Last entry her her going to Morinth's apartment.
Headed to the Afterlife VIP Lounge. I'm sure Aria could have gotten me in there but I decided to drop the same name Nef did to get in. The less I involved Aria the better since she wasn't interested in helping and would probably attach a price tag for it.
I came in, convinced a bartender to buy a round of drinks, helped a reporter out of a jam and defender a dancer from an overagressive customer. That's when Morinth stepped in and invited me to her table. I had to admit, she's charismatic. If I didn't know what she was I'd really like her.
Morinth asked me to her apartment. We talked. She's got interesting tastes. Curiously, she didn't want me to take any of the drugs that I know she fed to Nef. Said I should keep all my senses sharp. Yet, she put me under her spell. I couldn't resist. I was ready to kill for her. Then Samara burst in and the spell was broken. Morinth offered to join me if I killed Samara but how I could trust this person who had already succeeded in controlling my mind? I couldn't. They were evenly matched but I was the deciding factor. Samara finally put an end to Morinth.
The Migrant Fleet, Rayya: Tali has been accused of treason. She doesn't know why because it's not the sort of thing they'd transmit through unsecured channels, never mind to a Cerberus ship. When we got there we learned the charge was bringing active geth to the fleet. Serious charge but she says she's not guilty and I'm inclined to believe her.
[Can't explain this glitch but as soon as I got to the trial room it was already over. That is, the part where they charge Tali and she discovers her father may be dead aboard the Alarei. Except my journal is still telling me to go to the trial. Very weird. I'm proceeding to the Alarei.]
The Migrant Fleet, Alarei: When we reached the lab ship we were immediately attacked by geth. That confirmed the presence of active geth. However, Tali found geth parts she had sent herself that were not in use. For my part, I used the Collector particle beam to disintegrate the geth we encountered. No parts to activate.
Various logs we found, including one from Rael'Zorah, say that they accidentally networked all the geth they had reassembled. For geth, the networking means sentience. Stupid on their part and it got a lot of quarians killed, including those who had been sent over to investigate. Tali broke down for a bit when we found her father's body. I hugged her and told her I'd do whatever I could to help.
Found a model of a flotilla vessel. Score!
When we found the evidence the Rael was entirely responsible for what had happened, Tali begged me not to give that evidence to the admirals. I wasn't sure that was the best idea but she said her father being called a war criminal was something she couldn't live with. I had to accept that and hope for the best.
The Migrant Fleet, Rayya: The admirals were about to declare us dead when we showed up. The admirals asked for evidence exonerating Tali. I couldn't give them that. Instead, I gave a moving speech. Since he judgment was in question I talked about how she saved the Citadel against Sovereign and saved the Alarei against the geth. If that didn't prove her loyalty and judgment nothing would. Then, for good measure, I cited the admirals' own indecision about whether or not they should go to war with the geth to retake their home world as being the real reason for the trial. They backed down and found her not guilty. I asked them not to go to war because they'd be needed when the Reapers showed up but I could tell that fell on deaf ears. Tali, who opted to keep her forced renaming as Tali'Zorah vas Normandy, came back with me.

Filed under: Personal Successfully retrieved my old quarian acquaintance from Haestrom with Jacob and Lawson. She was lucky I came to save her ass when I did. Only she and another quarian made it out, and despite vas Neema not being able to join us back on Freedom's Progress, she was free to do so now because her own mission for the quarian people had been finished. She came with us right away, and back aboard the Normandy she raised serious concerns about Cerberus. I learned why she detests them and can't blame her. She and I are as much allies here as Vakarian and I. We all know what Cerberus is capable of. It can't hurt to have her on my side until I can finally leave the Illusive Man behind me for good. Naturally, even our latest addition did not come without baggage. It didn't take long when she called for me and told me that she was being accused of treason by her people. I'm tired of fixing people's messes, but it has to be done. Pics (and a vid): Reegar! Was fast enough for him to live despite having him help, yay! Oh, these dialogue options. Loving it. Another good example of Pull being fun. Well done, Jacob For shits and giggles I recorded a short N7 side mission. I really can't believe I'm starting to have a real blast with Vanguard, even more than before. Before I started this class I thought it could be too stressful for me since I liked to hang back a lot more in previous playthroughs, but it's so much fun to charge and shoot/melee all the things! It's like... letting everything go and just do it, hahaha. A lot is probably due to the Claymore, I love this shotgun, even though I also missed a couple times at point blank range I died twice at my favourite part with the first Geth Prime, but I was surprised how fast and smooth everything else went. Did the side mission Archeological Dig Site in order to get Tali's LM. After this I'm ready to finally do Jacob's LM and progress his romance. I also will likely only do Arrival this time, no Overlord, and especially not LotSB. Neva is not the Illusive Man's lap dog and refuses to do anything he asks for, haha. And of course she's not a friend of Liara Will hopefully finish the game within a week now, but let's see.

I anybody having trouble going online to Origin? I was downloading ME3, it went offline half way through and no amount of rebooting or clearing caches will let me back on online mode. Edit: Now I can't log in at all, not even in offline mode. At least I can play DAO, I have the disc version that doesn't require origin login to play.

But its supposed to carry over. The Wiki and my own memory indicates that a great deal of things should have carried over from my ME 2 playthrough. As I said...its weird. When you start a new game in Mass Effect 2 with an imported ME2 character, the following is supposed to carry over: > your bonus weapon/weapon talent you selected in the first playthrough > all weapons you picked up or researched in previous playthroughs > all armor pieces you purchased from stores in previous playthroughs Upgrades do not carry over. Credits do not carry over, Any ME1 import bonuses you would have received (credits and Paragon/Renegade points) are not applied in New Game+. It has been reported in the past that items have not been carrying over when importing an existing character. This has typically been reported on the Playstation console, and may or may not be tied to having the Genesis comic installed on the system. It is speculated that having the Genesis comic causes the game to not import weapons and armor already obtain in the previous playthroughs. Enemies do scale with Shepard's level, so enemies are at their toughest if you start a new game with a level 30 ME2 Shepard. But you do have all your talents upgraded, and you are supposed to have your weapons carry over as well.

Karen Shepard, Soldier (Shock Trooper), ME1 NG+:
Voyager Cluster - Agebinium
When Shepard returned to the Normandy, a man claiming to represent the Shadow Broker contacted her, wanting a copy of the data files Shepard had just found at the Cerberus outpost on Nepheron. The Shadow Broker had provided the location of the Cerberus facilities to Admiral Kahoku, apparently in exchange for a copy of anything he found there. Unfortunately for the Shadow Broker, Shepard had made no such deal, and with Kahoku dead she had no way of verifying the claim, and she had no reason to trust the Broker or his representative. She refused to hand over the files, and was unimpressed by the man's threat that the Shadow Broker would remember this refusal the next time Shepard needed help.
The Normandy's next destination in the Voyager Cluster was the Amazon system. While on Feros, Shepard had found cargo logs on the freighter that indicated a significant amount of supplies had been delivered to the system, even though there shouldn't be anything out here. The Intel from from Kahoku confirmed that Cerberus was active in the cluster, so Shepard wanted to investigate to ensure and and all potential Cerberus forces were dealt with.
When the Normandy arrived in the system, however, they were contacted by Admiral Hackett, who informed Shepard that a signal from an old Alliance espionage probe from the First Contact War had been received from the planet Agebinium, nowhere near the place (or time) it should have been. The probe had been booby trapped with a nuclear bomb to prevent aliens getting hold of Alliance technology, something forbidden by Citadel laws, and it's discovery would cause great embarrassment to the Alliance. Shepard agreed to assist, although she couldn't guess what this might have to due with unusual shipments in the area. Perhaps she would find out when she tracked down the probe.
Shepard, Tali and Liara landed on Agebinium to begin the search. They tracked the probe to an underground mine shaft. Tali and Liara pointed out that there was no way the probe could have ended up there accidentally, it was deliberately brought there - a trap, in all likelihood.
As they explored the mine and eventually found the probe, an seismic charge went off and blocked their way out. Definitely a trap. A man named Elanos Haliat contacted them by hologram, taunting Shepard over her plight and bragging about what a great pirate leader he was, at least until his defeat at Elysium during the Skyllian Blitz. Evidently, this was all some elaborate plan to get revenge on Shepard for embarrassing Haliat in front of his fellow Terminus Clan leaders.
Haliat had set the probe to detonate, but Shepard disarmed it (with the help of some omni-gel), and the team were able to find another exit to the surface. They ambushed Haliat's camp, killing the disgraced pirate leader and all of his goons.
Shepard and her team retrieved the Mako and conducted a search of the area for any stragglers from Haliat's gang. They found no one, but did discover a few valuable mineral deposits for the Alliance, some salvage, the body of a scavenger with a book from the time of the Turian Unification War, and the charred corpse of an adventurer wearing what appeared to be antique aviator goggles. Strange.
Back on the Normandy, Shepard wondered if it was just a coincidence that both Cerberus and Terminus pirate gangs were both operating in the same cluster, and exactly who the Borealis - the freighter contracted by ExoGeni on Feros - had delivered supplies to. It was plausible that two groups of miscreants could choose the same backwater cluster to hide out in, without there necessarily being any link between them, but Shepard couldn't shake the feeling there was more going on out here than it seemed. Perhaps she was just letting her imagination get the best of her, but she would definitely be keeping an eye out for further trouble from Cerberus, the Terminus gangs, and the corporations that may have links to either or both of them.
