I am uninstalling the hi-res mod. My game keep freezing/crashing. I've done all the fixes recommended but it's just pissing me off. Better to be able to play a mediocre-looking game than not be able to play a pretty one at all. I'm currently at the first rachni-overrun outpost and I can't even get out of the damn building.
I've been killing the rachni on foot to make sure I get to level 60 this go-round. I need about 55K more XP. The difference between Mako kills vs foot kills is 141 vs 354, so definitely worth it. Also killed the last two thresher maws on foot as well, but I don't know the differential there. There are still 4 more out there (according to the list posted in another thread) so I should make it (I hope).
Hackett gave me the Paragon mission but I need to rack up a few more Renegade points to get the one on Nonuel. I've only done that one once before since I normally play good-two-shoes Shepard.

Janet eventually managed to murder all the pesky mercenaries, by liberally using the doors on the base and returning to the Normandy for some more Medi-gel. Had a funny moment where she killed all the Chargers and 2 snipers. So she figured she was safe, saved, walked deeper into the base and walked right into a sniper who one shot-ed her. On the reload he got a nice rewards of bullets. Next up was Noveria. Went straight to Lorik for the pass, but ended up renegading him for Parasini in the end. Also did some business with Inamorda. She tried to trick Rafael, but he saw through her, so she gave him the bug, lied to the asari and threatened her to get more credits. Having had her fun she visited Peak 15 and added it to her list of "Butcher of". She killed the queen and hinted that she wanted to do the same to the Turian councilor, before hanging up on them. Next she went to the moon for a bit of moon walking and came back a shock trooper. Now she's going to tidy the Rachni out of the Galaxy before tracking down Benezia's daughter and neutralize her as a danger. So, a grand day for her. (Might also start killing the Geth in the Armstrong Nebula, since they are invading my dreams.)

This is not good news. I installed that mod for the first time and haven't played it yet. I was going to leave my next trilogy run through until a bit closer to Andromeda, but I might try out ME1 now.

I don't know what happened. It was working fine until I got to the tram ride on Noveria, and the problem continued after that. After copying over my backup files and doing an "Update Game" via Origin just in case, I've had no more issues. It sucks because that mod makes everything so much more vibrant. But, I'd rather be able to play the game as just look at it.
Thresher maw update: 7 down, 2 to go. XP difference between on foot vs Mako is 2124 to 849. I'm about to go make a deal with a warlord (maybe).

Mark Shepard:
Rannoch: Gonna save Admiral Koris. The civilian fleet will be under a warmonger without him. Couldn't not take Tali. We found some dead quarians along the way and some geth we helped get to the same state. Picked up a Geth Spitfire. The things it does to geth! Love it! The we found one badly injured but still living quarian named Dorn'Hazt. He was maintenance. Should never have been placed in a war zone. With his dying breath he asked us to tell his son Jona that he'd made it to the homeworld. The name is familiar from when we fought on the Alarei after the admirals had accused Tali of treason. One video log we heard was from a quarian who, at the end of her message, died. In it she mentioned a son named "Jona" and that "mommy loves you very much". "Mommy" suggests a small child and this one now has no parents thanks to the admirals forcing this war. This is right in line with Xen's comments that "[the civilian fleet's] wants are immaterial". Finally, we took out the geth jamming tower and were able to contact Koris. He wanted me to save the civilians rather than himself but I convinced him he was needed to lead the civilian fleet.
Normandy: Once back with the fleet, Koris contacted me to say I was right and that the civilian fleet would have left and been destroyed if he hadn't returned. I know I'm hard on the admirals but I don't actually hate the quarians. I just think their leaders are too emotional and make rash decisions because of it.
We all know that, when large numbers of them are combined, the geth are a functional AI. However, with the Reaper upgrades each singular geth is fully evolved. Less of a cluster and more individual. They'd be like EDI. Admiral Raan didn't want to acknowledge this as life but it was clear that's what they were.
War Assets: 4622 x 95% = 4390
Rannoch: Since I'm here I need to take care of the Geth Fighter Squadron that's tearing the quarian fleet apart. Legion brought me to a geth server that housed the programs of the geth in the fighters. Wiping out the programs would put cause the geth bodies to stop working. Surprisingly, Javik and EDI said nothing when Legion told me I had to be plugged into the server. Once inside, Legion appeared to me. It was a weird landscape with clusters of blocks (which were the programs) and platforms that appeared to guide me to my destination. Also, I had a gun that was needed to wipe out the Reaper programming. I realized this was like destroying a city but Legion said it was necessary.
Got to see video logs from the awakening of the first geth all the way until the end of the Morning War - which ended when the quarians fled and the geth chose not to pursue. It's pretty damning information about the quarians. Creating AI hadn't been the intent but civil war erupted over it. Those opposed to the geth would destroy those in opposition, be they geth or quarian, fighting or surrendered.
The unexpected happened when I came out. The inert geth prime I had seen in pods emerged. If I'm understanding it right, the geth in the server transferred into these new hosts. They also renounced the Reapers and offered to join. That means quarians aren't being killed and at least some of the geth were now on our side instead of against us. Sounds like a win all around.

I've picked up the chronicles of Eva Shepard in the weekend. She "saved" Maelon and made damn sure Urdnot Grunt killed the thresher maw on foot. She advised Mordin to keep Maelons data for now.

That mod has worked fine for me. Origin constantly wants to "update" ME1 as a result but I ignore it. Funny you should say that, Origin told me I need to up upgrade my operating system. They don't seem to realize that 10 is later than 7 So I fired up Mass Effect with MEUITM. I loaded up Nef, an old save, she was a renegade last time and romanced no-one, so I will go paragon this time. The graphics are noticeably better, even though I haven't played in a while. But Nef has developed alopecia, which she never had in my old screen shots. Since I had used a Hex editor to give Nef that hair originally, I decided to start again with the default face. I spoke with the new Hi-res Jenkins. I like the Hi-res look, but I preferred the stock 3 shades of grey to the shiny black middle bit or the starting armour. Actually, a lot of these pics don't look as good as some of my old ones. Maybe I need to turn off bloom, or film grain or something.

Thank you both, stephenw32768 and fraggle! I have also caught up to Rannoh quests with my Mark the Renegade. Unfortunately, I've missed Grissholm Academy this time around, because I did not know that if I trigger Udina's betrayal, the quest is considered a fail. And, I went to hand in one of the smaller missions back to Citadel, and, well, the rest was history. Jack's name does not appear on the wall of the names though on Normandy, so I suppose Jack just disappears from Mark's life. as I was playing through the rest of the ME2 companion related quests, I started to think how Mark certainly sees a darker, grimmer world because he is a renegade. Dagg does not get to emerge from the Ravagers infested tunnels coated with blood like Grunt did for my Paragon. mark shoots Samara's last surviving daughter and reads unopened letters by Morinth, who alone hunts somewhere out there... and lo and behold, there is no avoiding Miranda's sister even via killing Miranda, he has to hear that she was abducted by her father. Ashley was told to take an assignment with Hackett. All and all, I feel that Renegade portrait falls into place now, not so much as some puppy kicking raving lunatic, but simply the guy in whose world good but improbable things simply do not happen just because he really hopes for the best, like the Paragon. So, after much going back and forth, I am going to finish Rannoch with destroying the Geth - because they are a proven liability. So Tali's and Legion story is going to end in defeat. Mark cannot be the one righting the old wrongs. I still sort of want the Control ending, but it feels wrong for Mark to take his chances. He will never believe that it can end well. Oh, and I've finally got the Paramour achievement by Mark pledging himself to Liara. Poor guy, he needs something nice. 😀

My renegade Liam Shepard took a break from punching kittens to recruit Tali, took Garrus with me this time. Loved the back and forth between himself and Tali, d'aww. He also didn't take kindly to being shot at whilst on board, so if he couldn't punch a kitten he punched Admiral Gerrel instead.

It's definitely a thing Cerberus was doing with biotics.

@domi When you do Chronos, keep an eye for a data pad in the room where you learn more about EDI. There is a message from (or well with) Jack on it. And yup, Mornith is on Earth. I find them both fairly easy to spot because they are named and both make a bit of an entrance. Nothing flashy or cutsceny, but they don't just pop into existence. --- As for what was done today. Karan made his way through the Citadel. Very slowly. Since he's stopping to listen to the people he meets. He's good at that. Now only if he was good at combat as well.

Not much of late, finished my ME2 playthrough that was on the old BSN, then started ME3 but that ground to a halt at the start of the Tchunka arc.
Fallout 4 has been occupying me of late.

Miriam Shepard took a break on the Citadel...
Things got pretty intense on Rannoch. Decided that the crew needed some R&R.
Hung out with Garrus atop the Presidium, because his days of following C-Sec regulations are long behind him. (Not that C-Sec could have done anything about it; Spectre privileges...) Shot the breeze, then some targets. Could have let him win the contest, but didn't; respect him too much not to go all-out.
Headed down to the Presidium Commons to catch up with Liara. Still lots of green spaces despite the damage caused by Cerberus; Liara appreciates the parkland, reminds her of where she grew up. Talked about her mother, whom she clearly misses deeply. Resolved to stay in touch after the war is won.
Grabbed a coffee with Ashley at Apollo's Café. She talked about her father at length. Her family means everything to her; this war is making everyone remember the things most important.
Encountered Tali spending her shore leave working, coordinating quarian assistance for the turian relief effort. Turns out that the turian with whom she was working had racially abused her three years ago when she came to the Citadel on her Pilgrimage. Old grudges mean nothing now; the war is hell, but it's forging alliances like nothing has before.
Happened upon a C-Sec officer talking on the radio about installing target-jamming technology to help protect the Citadel from future attacks. Turned over some geth tech recovered from Rannoch that might suffice. Also, turned over a Hesperia-period statue, recovered while exploring the Athena Nebula, to an asari scientist to be forwarded to Crucible researchers.
Took the elevator down to the wards to meet some of the crew at Purgatory. Found Jack there, reviewing her students' duty rosters. Turns out that assigning them to defensive postings was the right call, they've saved lives. Working with the students has been the making of her. Still, all work and no play makes Jack a dull girl; dragged her to the dance floor.
Had a drink with Cortez; seems a lot happier, moving on from his grief over Robert.
Found Joker people-watching; observed that the clubbers were dancing their worries away, not happily. He asked about his relationship with EDI; advised him to keep it platonic.
Headed up to the embassies to meet up with Javik. Being on the Citadel is the closest he's come to being overwhelmed; to his people, it was almost a myth, representing his people's power and their downfall. Encouraged him to give a rousing speech to rally the turian, asari and hanar onlookers.
Called in at the Spectre office to use the secure comms system. Spoke to Miranda, investigating her father's dealings with the Illusive Man while evading Cerberus assassins. Tipped her off about Kai Leng's activities.
While in the Spectre office, fast-tracked the reassignment of an Alliance combat engineer whose sergeant applied for her to be assigned to anti-Reaper sabotage missions.

Last night I left off just landed on Virmire. Today I left off just before setting the nuke on Virmire. I managed to catch one of the many bugs going around so feel like crap today. Made it to level 60 though, so I'm happy. Paragon points are maxed; not sure if I'll be able max Renegade points - I have like 2.5 boxes to go. I didn't shoot Rana, which would have helped, but it's kinda more fun telling her to run, then seeing her again in ME2.

Starting a new playthrough tonight, skipping ME1 and did the genesis comic. This is Abigail. Ruthless, and doesn't give a shit if you care for her or not. Not sure if I want to do a romance yet. May hook up with Kelly. So, Abigail ended up having a very Audrey Hepburn look. Didn't intend it, but I like it!

So, since I am going to restart the camapign for ME 3 anyways (damn converting problems between ME 2 and ME 3.) and since I am going to delete the old one that means that, well, in the end of the day, I am starting over so Shepard can have her proper eye color. But, in the stead I have actually been playing a shit ton of Multi Player in the mean time. And having...a pretty good time by and large. I am shocked as hell that so many people are still playing the game after all this time. But, it was fun. Got a bit of a chuckle when I saw that I had named my N7 destroyer, that I started in the day, 'Liam'. Oh, and the only thing of note from the ME 3 SP campaign from yesterday was...a few things are missing. Namely the N7 Valiant and the Energy Drain. I am going to miss the Valiant.
