Professor: How's everyone today? class: Good morning Professor themikefest Professor: Lets get right to it. The floor is yours Ms. Shepard Stacy Shepard: Thank you. This will be short the reapers attack Earth I went and got help by building alliances with other species to help deal with the reapers on Earth the quarians, turians, salarians, asari and krogan all helped the reapers are destroyed Professor: That was short. Tell me Ms. Shepard. If these....reapers, as you call them, were to come to Earth now, would we have a chance of defeating them? Stacy: No Professor. I don't believe we have a chance. Maybe we might in 2186, but now in 2017? No Professor: Looking at other students, I would say they agree. Ok. How many of you have played this ME game? Lets see. Looks to be about half the class. Ms. Shepard is there going to be a 4th game with your character? Stacy: No sir. The company is currently working on another ME game that will take place in another galaxy. I like to have my Shepard in another game. Professor: How many of you folks, the one's who raised their hands a moment ago, would like to see their character in another game? Hmmm...Nearly all of you who put up your hand earlier. If that's the case, and its like that for all the people who bought the game, they might do that, if they knew a lot of people want their character in another game. I see you shaking your head no Mr. Cotter. Ok students. If everyone would hand in their assignment I gave Friday for you to complete over the weekend, I would be grateful. Once back in your seat, turn to page 456 of your textbook.

Mark Shepard:
Normandy: War Assets: 4682 x 99% = 4635. (Going in real hard with Galaxy of War.)
Xen continues to be an idiot. She'd rather get geth tech than rescue her people.
Bryson's Lab: Following up on what we learned about Leviathan. We know it's an enemy of the Reapers. We're not sure it's a friend just yet.
Found a message from a Dr. Ann Bryson, the daughter of the researcher. She was on to something and possibly in trouble.
Used clues to find out the exact system where she was located.
Citadel: Shuttled back near C-Sec area and bumped right into Garrus. He was apparently waiting for me. He wanted to shoot bottles from the top of the Presidium. In the past, 137 regulations kept him from doing so. Now, he didn't care. Nor did I. Garrus was the guy who has followed me everywhere, even when I worked for the pro-human Cerberus. That counts for a lot. So, when he wanted to prove he was the best sniper in the galaxy, I missed a shot on purpose. It made him happy and my ego could stand it. Friendship isn't always about being best and I had to let the guy have me in one area.
Helped a guy making a documentary of what the refugees are going through. I thought it might help people give a little more when they saw the suffering.
Found Cortez by the memorial wall. Helped him finally leave that last audio recording from his husband behind. It wasn't about forgetting his past but about not being mired in it. That kind of thing could have made me something else, let the memory of batarian slavers killing my colony turn into a hatred that warped me into something else entirely. I chose to move forward.
Investigated a batarian terrorist named Ghorek. He blamed me for the death of 300,000 batarians on Aratoht. He wasn't wrong. I'd destroyed the Alpha Relay to stop the Reapers from invading but that created an explosion that took out the entire system. He asked for mercy by unplugging his life support. While on the one hand he ought to pay for his terrorist activities, on the other he was a waste of resources that could be used on a soldier or refugee. Also, letting him die meant he couldn't engage in future terrorism. I let him die.
Brokered a deal for an exchange of medical supplies that was beneficial for us both. Now maybe Chakwas talk to me about something other than this deal while we're on the other side of the galaxy.
Kelly Chambers told me that changing her identity saved her life. During the coup attempt, Cerberus agents came looking for her specifically. Records said she'd disappeared. Glad to know my instincts are still sharp.
A doctor mentioned the medi-gel dispensers had been corrupted and that some guy was preaching about Cerberus. I fixed the dispensers. The preacher was none other than Conrad Verner. This guy was my biggest fan. I remember finding him wearing fake N7 armor when he thought I was dead. Now, because he remembered I'd worked with Cerberus, he wanted to do the same. He pointed out the guy who convinced him to sabotage the dispensers. That guy took aim at me and Conrad jumped in front of me. It was a fatal wound but Conrad went out a hero.
Javik gave a rousing speech of hope and the ability to fight back against the Reapers as something more than machines. It was helpful to his audience of asari, turian and hanar. A little hope can go a long way.
Miranda contacted me again through the Spectre terminal. She heard a rumor that her father was working on a project for the Illusive Man. She was going to follow some leads. Still doesn't want me help.
Sent liquor to Gianna Parasini on the Crucible, sent a commendation for Captain Riley, authorized a civilian militia, authorized surveillance, set up tracking for batarian access codes with E-Crimes investigator Jordan Noles.
The batarian codes led to Balak, the terrorist who I'd stop from destroying Terra Nova with an asteroid a couple of years ago. He was the highest ranking batarian left. I convinced him to use his fleets in the battle against the Reapers. James considered the krogan and batarians to be the "meat" in any war. Now we had them both.
Followed up with the volus ambassador situation. He had sent intel to Cerberus. Now some people wanted him dead. I heard Zaeed in one of the logs. That was going to make it interesting. I was able to contact the volus and get him to reveal his location and have him drop my name to Zaeed. That changed Zaeed's tune. By the time I showed up Zaeed had taken out the other kidnappers. He had intel that could save a turian colony and a volus bombing fleet. He didn't want to mention the colony because Cerberus would know that info came from him. I convinced him to tell me everything and give me the fleet. Zaeed also agreed to get a squad together and help out.
James was making eggs. Javik is quite the jokester, successfully making fun of an all-too-gullible James. Garrus proved to Legion that he was far better able to make improvements in the weapon systems than the geth. All the "calibrating" was doing something.
Namakli: Time to find Ann Bryson and see what she knows. The last message she sent out said she was scared because Reapers were spotted. The sky was full of harvesters and there were all kinds of Reaper forces around. We got her out but the evidence was suggesting that Leviathan was a rogue Reaper. I also had to break the news to her that her father was dead.
Bryson's Lab: Met up with Ann there. EDI and James were also present. Because she had fallen briefly under the spell of the artifact on Namakli before we destroyed it, we knew it could control her. Mostly at her urging, we let the artifact here on the Citadel take control of her so we could track the Leviathan. We narrowed it down to a few systems. Might have gotten the exact place but the risk of her mind being turned off like Hadley's had been was too great. Still, gave us a place to start.

Last night I left off just landed on Virmire. Today I left off just before setting the nuke on Virmire. I managed to catch one of the many bugs going around so feel like crap today. Made it to level 60 though, so I'm happy. Paragon points are maxed; not sure if I'll be able max Renegade points - I have like 2.5 boxes to go. I didn't shoot Rana, which would have helped, but it's kinda more fun telling her to run, then seeing her again in ME2.
Who did you save on Virmire?

Filed under: Personal If I thought this war was utter madness before, it's at a new peak. We now have a powerful ally. Very powerful. I was sent by Admiral Hackett to see a Dr. Bryson on the Citadel. He and his team researched some creature known as Leviathan and at first I didn't think this would lead to anything... But Dr. Bryson actually was onto something. Thanks to an unshielded artifact in his lab, his assistant was taken over by Leviathan and shot Bryson, not remembering anything after the deed. The clues we found in the lab then led us from a mining facility to a dig site where we picked up Bryson's daughter. She offered to let Leviathan take her over like it did with the assistent, to pressure it. Everything I had seen so far was on par with the Reapers. We all wondered if it actually was a Reaper. I admit that I had a bad feeling about this, but this creature had killed a reaper once, so we needed it for the war. I agreed to Ann's proposal, but we pulled out once we had a partial lock of Leviathan's location. This was all very dangerous. Eventually we found the creature, hiding in the deep sea. It was too surreal to put into words. I managed to pursuade it to join the war. The Reapers were getting close to finding its hideout anyway, and so it finally joined the battle after all this time of cowardly watching. Speaking of sea creatures. Traynor got me some fish. She meant well, but I had to buy an expensive Aquarium VI now... Oh my, I tried to not trigger the Banshees on Mahavid since stephenw32768 wrote about it a couple of days ago, so I charged to the Ravager in the back by the door, but I had no luck I think my squadmates killed the last remaining enemies during that phase and the banshees were triggered, and I was trapped back there. It was a close quarter fight, ahaha. Got killed once, but other than that it was okay. Thessia is up next, I wonder whether I should ignore Liara afterwards I haven't talked to her since I got the time capsule scene, haha.

Hopefully it will be short. My bug is pretty much done, only 3 days, which is really one of the most accelerated head colds I've seen. Get well! I did not have much time, so I left two Rannoch missions and started to scan the Galaxy for assets, and did the Reactor. I really miss MP, particularly when I do the assignments that are turned into mp maps. They are sooo simple when you have those maps imprinted in your mind... I might check to see if my brain fog had completely cleared so I can finally try out my Batarian Slasher I've unlocked last time I've got a windfall of mp credits. Though I don't think it can beat the Man-with-Lashes as my fav Adept... but who knows. It's a Batarian after all. On the other hand, I do want to finish the ME3 run with Mark to try and fit a DA2 pt before Andromeda goodness....

Haven't touched Vance's playthrough for a bit. I've mostly just mucked about with ME3 and my newly discovered Valiant SR on the Xbox One. Still loving it. I went back onto the Xbox 360 to try to figure out why I can't get the Collector's Edition stuff on that console, but I can get them on the Xbox One. No luck... it's a mystery. Will just have to stick with the Indra SR on that console... no Hurrican either... and no robotic dog or hoodie for those Sheps.
I should get back to ad-Vance ME2 sometime today. I'll probably do Miranda's LM (can always lose her loyalty later) and then go directly to Samara's recruitment mission (getting 6 missions into the 5 mission countdown before triggering the Collector Ship).

Today (and also a bit yesterday) Karan did business on Feros. Yesterday he did the colony bit. Talked to everybody, fixed what problems he could fix and killed some geth. Business as usual. Today he did the walk way. Talked to some scientist, visited the Exo Geni building, hacked some computers and killed some geth. He also started the gardening bit. Sadly, he did not have enough charisma to charm Jeong out of combat mode. He did save all the colonists he could, wishing that paragon interrupt existed so he could just knock Fai Dan out. Anyways, he headed down into the damp basement, watched the miracle of asari birth and chatted with the local flower girl. I figured the worst part of not skipping dialog on Feros is that you have to watch the puking bit. Puke then became Karan's downfall, as one of those creepers managed to sneak behind him and got the spew going. Sensing that I was in no mood to deal with these guys, Karan transcended to another level of existence and we had a nice time running among the clouds, until the game crashed. Hopefully the hard save didn't bug out.

Who did you save on Virmire? Nobody yet, since I didn't get that far. Will most likely leave Ashley behind - I sent her with the salarians. I would leave Kaidan to break off the romance but I just don't like Ash in ME3 much at all. Such a waste of space.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME2: Normandy Shepard returned to the Normandy and found Jacob and Miranda in the conference room arguing over whether Okeer's krogan should be let out of the tank or not. Shepard found it cute that they thought they had any say in the matter. She had already made up her mind, and she wasn't going to pass up a potential recruit. They could deal with any danger the krogan might pose.
She spoke to Jacob later to dig a little deeper into his background. He seemed to resent the fact that he didn't get much credit for the work he did while with the Alliance. He was sidelined after the attack on Eden Prime, and ended up joining Cerberus after working with Miranda to stop a plot to assassinate the Council. Shepard hoped this mission gave him what he was looking for.
Joker and Shepard reminisced about the “good old days” on the Normandy SR1, which Joker rightly pointed out weren't always so great, with Saren, Sovereign, and the geth. Kelly expressed concern about “birthing” the “baby krogan” stored in a tank in the cargo hold. Dr Chakwas mentioned that she enjoyed sharing a drink with Shepard, and that the next bottle would be on her.
Shepard went to see Miranda, and despite the rocky start to their relationship, they had a pretty nice chat this time. The genetic alterations she had mentioned before were not her choice, her father had done it to her. She escaped from him, and Cerberus protected her and put her enhanced skills to good use. That explained her loyalty to Cerberus. Shepard tried to boost her self esteem - she had simply traded her father for TIM, but couldn't see it - and it sounded like she might have got through a little bit. Shepard hope they could build a rapport - if she was going to take on TIM at some point, it would be good to have Miranda on board (or out of the way, but Shepard hoped it wouldn't come to that).
In the cargo hold, Shepard released Okeer's krogan from the tank (against EDI's recommendation). He chose the name Grunt, and claimed that claimed that Okeer's imprint had failed. After a bit of pushing and shoving (standard krogan greeting, presumably), he agreed to join Shepard's cause. "If you're weak and choose weak enemies, I'll have to kill you", which seemed reasonable enough by krogan standards.
TIM sent a passive-aggressive email, where he claimed Shepard was "in charge" while chastising her for not doing as she was told regarding the krogan. Shepard wondered if he was starting to regret not putting in that control chip. Ismar Frontier - Zeona (MSV Rosalie Lost) The Normandy arrived at their next destination, the planet Zeona in the Ismar Frontier. A Cerberus survey ship, the MSV Rosalie, was missing. Shepard had no real desire to help Cerberus out, but didn't feel right leaving people stranded if she there was a chance they could help.
The Commander, Jacob and Kasumi took the shuttle down to the volcanic world Zeona. They found some wreckage, and a recording indicating the geth had been tracking the Rosalie. No sign of the crew or the project leads - Drs Cayce and O'Loy - but there was an experimental hovercraft type of vehicle, the M-44 Hammerhead, in amongst the wreckage, still intact.
They hopped into the Hammerhead, surveyed the area for missing research data to get a feel for how it controlled, and then called for the Normandy to pick them up. They would have to try and pick up the trail of Cayce and O'Loy later. The data they recovered should help.

From the Personal Logs of the SSV Normandy: The Report on the Judiciary, Subject: Trial of Commander Shepard, Abigail S., Karl S. Boden for the Alliance JAG office reporting:
Psychological Report: Commander Abigail Shepard is an entirely practical officer. Preffering to deal with the mission as it comes up rather then messing around. She prefers to get the job done before moving onto the next task. Notably, however, for this report she is disctinctly pro human. Interviews with several eye witness accounts indicates that she introduced herself during the hunt for Saren as 'Shepard, Alliance Navy' rather then as a Council Spectre. Reports indicate she even lodged an official protest with her superiors over even being considered for the Spectres, though both Steven Hackett and David Anderson refused to comment when we reached out to them. However, it should also be noted that this does not indicate any special anti alien bias, for the alien members of her crew that we reached out to, namely Garrus Vakarian and Dr. Liara T'soni, they claim they would die for her. Instead, this bias indicates disagreement over Council policies and governance, rather then disliking the species as a hole.
What this means for the purposes of this report, when it comes to the Batarians, is even less clear. Commander Shepard is well known for the incident on Torfan where her and her squad massacred a Batarian terrorist cell, though she was cleared of any wrong doing by a courmartial board. And, the Batarian Terrorist Balak was turned in with extreme injuries indicating potential torture, though Alliance authorties did not push the investigation at the time. These actions indicate potential anti Batarian bias, and thus could be a reason for her to detonate the Alpha Relay, but its indeterminate at this time.
Biographical Information: Commander Abigail Shepard was born April 11, 2154 to parents unknown. She was left on the doorsteps of a local Los Angelas Hospital, at just a few weeks old, and was given over to local orphanages. Most of her early life is a blur and is only speculation in the official record, but, her next main appearance was when the tenth street reds, of which she was a member, was implicated in the murder of a local banker. She was taken to a judge who remanded her, on the instiance of this individual, to the care of a local Jewish Rabbi until such time she was old enough to join the military.
She joined the military and instantly ecelled, trying out for the N program from an early age. And her proficiency, aptitude, and survival scores were off the charts. This, despite her discplinary issues, allowed her to advance to the rank of Lieutenant, and become the rank of N6. It was here when she participated in the operation on Torfan. And as a result, was given over to the personal command of Lieutenant Commander David Anderson. on a mission together she would be given the rank of N7, and put on the short list for humanity's first Spectre.
Her trip with Saren has, in the opinion of this office, been well recorded. But, for your review, you can see Appendix A, B, B, and E, as well as her personal logs are freely available to officers of this court. Note: Public dissimenation of her personal logs is a Class C violation of Alliance Regulations, and will be considered for charges should such information reach the press.
This report has been for the arranment and consideration of the Alliance Courtmartial board for Abigail Shepard, Former Commander, Systems Alliance Navy, for the trial of March 7, 2186.
****
Abigail Shepard's Personal Logs, March 5, 2186.
No ship, no crew, no rank. In two days I go on trial for my actions in the Bahak System, and quite probbaly my career over the last several months, and maybe over the last few years. I am under house arrest. It is a gilded cage, I still have a certain degree of freedom and ammenties, but it is still a cage. The best part is there has been plenty of time to go down to the firing range, that is one of the things they have allowed me. They named a weapon after me, well, my 'call sign.'
Meanwhile though, they are wasting time on this trial. I understand it. I know why its a neccessity. And this is not my first Courtmartial or Disciplinary Hearing. But...the Reapers are coming. Its been six months sitting on my hands. Any day now the Reapers could hit us. I hear intelligence every now and then, there is somethinghappening in Batarian space, it could be them...it could not be. But meanwhile, they are wasting time on this trial. somedays it seems to have taken up the entire universe. But...the Reaprs are coming. I am nervous. More nervous about this trial then anything else I have faced because I know. I know one day they could be here, and I might be trapped like a rat when they arrive.
***
From the Personal logs of the SSV Normandy, CO Commander Abigail Shepard reporting, March 8, 2186.
I was right. The Reapers did come. I never even made it to my trial. And I, on orders of the Admiral David Anderson, has reinstated me with my rank and position as Commanding Office of the Normandy. Worse still, much worse though, I have been reinstated as a Council Spectre. But more on that for a minute...
The Reapers have come. They attacked Earth, in Force. Massive, overwhelming force. The only chance we have of stopping them is to gather the rest of the fleets of the Galaxy and work together. Truthfully, it may already be too late. But, those were my marching orders from Admiral Anderson. So, that is what I am going to do, one way or another.
But, before we could even get started, Hackett ordered us to Mars. Where we found Liara and she claimed she found a weapon that could be capable of stopping the Reapers. I do not know the validity of it. But, well, it is the best we have to go on. But, Ashley got hurt. Its odd, here she survived Virmire, and our first mission out and she is already out of action. Because of an injury.
Which now brings us to the Council. They say they do not want to commit their resources, they want to secure their own borders. The Turian Primarch has called a war summit, and they want me to get him there. They do not trust the weapon, and I cannt say I blame them. For once, the Council is actually making sense. But, its still my duty to help them out. And help them out I will.
On a personal note the Valkyrie is a fine weapon in the field. Needs a bit more power and it kicks like a country mule, so I will need help with it. But, its a good weapon and I like that it bears my namesake. Shepard, out.
***
March 10, 2186. Met the crew. The new Specialist Samantha Traynor might need a bit of a spine, but I like her well enough. She is a good addition to the family. There was something odd about Cortez. But, I am sure it will come out in time. James is capable, but damaged somehow. He reminds me of me. Given his background especially. But, we need him. If he is naything like me...then we need him. Maybe I can pay it forward.
Speaking of new members of the crew we rescued a Prothean from Eden Prime. Yes, historians and people who may read this report in the future, a real, live, honest to god, Prothean. Javik is his name. And he is...rough around the edges. Not sure if I quite like him. He seems also like me honestly enough, but reminds me of all the parts of myself I am not comfortable with. A more extreme version of the person I am. And nothing like what Liara was expecting, I am sure this will be fun.
***
March 12, 2186. The Primarch is now onboard the Normandy. We are heading back for the Citadel as of now. Going to rearm, resupply, and check in on Ashley. Hopefully, that will be the end. Good news is Garrus is back on the squad. He is a general now, sort of, kind of, its odd having someone around who you are giving orders who technically outranks you. But, it is good to have him back.
On the weird news...EDI has a body...I'll just have to wait to see where this goes from here. In all respects

Left Ashley on Virmire, made the mistake of going back to the Citadel only to get grounded (really, why not just go to Ilos from Virmire? It's like, the system next door). Let Anderson take one for the team and punch out Udina to free up the Normandy, then headed straight to Ilos.
Landed in the Mako but the door inside the complex shut just as they arrived. Found the switch to open the door, then headed inside. (I finally noticed those statues for the first time - they are really creepy looking.) Found some geth, killed some geth. Found a VI, had a chat, took a disk to hack the Citadel, then killed some more geth. Also, turtled a couple times while driving over tree branches and up the walls. I missed the Mako.
Next time: Through the Conduit! (so we can end up back where we started ).

Finished my current ME2 run with Kelly Shepard (Renegade, Earthborn, Sole Survivor - Pic in first spoiler tag) and plan on taking her into ME3. I wanted to run a not perfect SM so here are the results (spoiler tagged in case people, for whatever reason, don't know how the SM plays out.) Well, I finished my current ME2 run (planning on taking into ME3) with Garrus (loyal), Legion (loyal), and Tali (Not Loyal. Was originally going to have only Garrus and Legion survive, but I decided to keep the ME1 squad intact as I like the idea of it being their story and not just Shep's) surviving the SM. Kasumi - Not Recruited (lack DLC on PC) =/ Jack - Died in the Base Approach Thane - Died in the Base Approach Mordin - Took a rocket to the face Jacob - Carried off by Seeker Swarm Grunt - Died leading the second fire team ("Gave 'em Hell. Good Fight Shepard. Good Fight.") Zaeed - Died buying the crew time to escape. (All crew survived) Samara - Died after defeating Proto Reaper Miranda - Died after defeating Proto Reaper Garrus, Legion, Tali - Successfully Held the Line with No Casualties. Renegade Shepard kept the Collector Base to use against the Reapers. Galaxy Saved. For now.

Jesus, fuck, leaving those refinery workers to die on Zaeed's mission was intense. One of the hardest decisions I've had to make in this game. Not entirely sure it was worth it...

Mark Shepard:
2181 Despoina: Found traces of the Leviathan signal. Time to track this thing down and make it work for us. I brought Kaidan, because I just do that now, and EDI. EDI didn't seem to be affected by indoctrination and I thought, in a crunch, she might be able to pull us out of the fire. What we didn't know until we got there was that it was an ocean world and that our Leviathan probe was deep underwater. Cortez said the Kodiak was specced to allow for it to go there. That was fine until the power cut. We landed on something like a landing platform. There were wrecked ships in the waters with tents on this structure. They also contained long dead corpses and data pads telling how they were trapped. They had found the Leviathan artifacts and fallen under their influence. It caused them to engage in violence and eventually even cannibalism.
It was then that a Reaper descended from the skies. Meanwhile, Cortez was working on getting the Kodiak going. We had to fend up, at this point, lots of cannibals. Who's crazy enough to biotically charge a brute? That would be me. I have headbutted a krogan and no turian ever struck fear in my heart so why should the combination of the two scare me?
Cortez got the Kodiak airborne and was even able to provide some cover fire until another pulse knocked him out of the sky. Cortez suggested that the only way out was to get to Leviathan. That meant getting to a Triton mech (similar to the Atlas but for diving) and going down into the depths. EDI and Kaidan didn't seem to like the idea but I had to brush them off. Success was the only thing that counted here. Besides, we were dead if we did nothing.
It was pretty satisfying using the Triton to beat the brutes to death rather than taking them out with weapons fire. Then it was time to take a leap into the waters that I wasn't looking for. I had no fear of water but this Triton wasn't brand new and had been sitting for who knew how long. I didn't even know if I'd have enough oxygen to complete the mission. This wouldn't be my first time doing a crazy stunt I had no idea if I'd come back from. The difference is I'd never had anyone to come back to before. Well, I couldn't let that stop me. Even Kaidan's objections couldn't stop me. I took the plunge.
During the descent I lost communication with Cortez. A headlamp also blew out. That left me with flares to light the way and recording an audio log to keep me occupied. At 3277 meters, I watched an enormous creature emerge from below. It didn't look exactly like a Reaper but it was similar. It spoke to me. It wasn't happy with me coming there. It also said it wasn't a Reaper, actually predating them, but that the Reapers sought its extinction. Then it took me somewhere. I was still in the suit but also somewhere else - somewhere "cold and dark" would be accurate. It also appeared there not in its natural form but that of people it had controlled in my presence: Ann Bryson, Hadley and Garneau.
It said that no species had ever been able to stop what it called the "Harvest", the end of which one species would be converted into a new Reaper. However, the Reapers feared me because I was instrumental in killing Sovereign and the Collectors. The essential story is this: the Leviathan were an ancient race that dominated all other races in the galaxy. Some of those races were killed off by machines they had created. The Leviathan didn't like that because they could receive no tribute from them. Therefore, they created the "Intelligence" to find a solution to machines killing organics. Once it did so it turned on them and from that first harvest created Harbinger - the entity that was controlling the Collectors. Some of the Leviathan escaped but the Intelligence and the growing number of Reapers continued to harvest. Given the number of Reapers I'd seen they had to be doing this for billions of years. It's purpose was the preservation of life and, not having completed its purpose, it continued to harvest until it found what it was looking for. It sounded to me like the Leviathan were content to let the Reapers harvest and simply stay out of its way. That wasn't going to work for me.
I talked it into fighting, but only because the Reapers knew where it was now. I soon realized there were at least three of them, if not more. They sent me back to the surface. Then the took control of the Reaper forces there and had them fighting each other. At this point the Kodiak was working again and Kaidan helped me on board. As we took to the skies, a Reaper flew toward us. Then we got a real taste of the power of the Leviathan. A pulse took it down just as it had our shuttle and many other ships before us. It seemed nothing could stand in its way if properly motivated. Kaidan told me I was never to do that again, meaning never go where he can't follow.
Normandy: Hackett was pleased with the Leviathan situation.
War Assets: 5799 x 99% = 5741
EDI pointed out the fact that the Reapers failed to exterminate their creators, meaning that they were fallible even over billions of years. The more we found out the more it looked like they weren't monolithic gods after all. Sure, they still had at least 100,000 of them, each of which might take on an entire fleet, but they could be beaten. I'd helped kill two now and I wasn't done.

Filed under: Personal I can't believe what happened. I was so sure we can win this. We had alliances between different races, we had Leviathan on our side, we almost had the last missing piece, the Catalyst. Almost... Today, Thessia was lost to the Reapers. The asari councilor had sent me to a temple in order to investigate an artifact that might've helped locate the Catalyst. It would have, since the artifact turned out to be another Prothean beacon, revealing a VI that knew about the Catalyst. Just before it could tell us, the Illusive Man's lap dog approached us. Mr. Illusive appeared via holo and once again went on and on about controlling the Reapers, then sent his lap dog to attack us and steal the VI from our hands. Leng had a gunship. We had no chance. I lost. I was lucky to survive at all. Kai Leng will pay for what he did to me. I will crush him. But it makes me wonder... the Prothean VI also mentioned that a fraction of their people believed the Crucible to be a means to control the Reapers... is it really possible? No. No, of course it wouldn't. This is nonsense. In all my playthroughs so far, this was the first time I took Javik with me, and it was so much fun! Definitely not the last time I did that I died once in the second Banshee section because I was stuck inside something again Other than that it went pretty well. Still need to do the crew talk though, then it's onward to Horizon!

So Eva Shepard has been saving crashing spacecrafts and javelin missiles. Then she hunted Blood pack and Blue suns operations. Before going to bust a friend of Hackett out of a batarian prison. And boy did she get there in the nick of time. It turned out the prisoner, a Dr Kenson was indoctrinated from studying some reaper artifact. Eva shut down the whole operation with litarally minutes to go before the whole reaper armada would have made it into the Bahak system and from there into the whole milky way. Well the Bahak system is no more and some 300000 batarians went up in smoke. Rough riding.

Karen Shepard, Soldier, ME2:
Hourglass Nebula - Recruit the Convict
The Normandy docked with Prison Ship Purgatory, run by the Blue Suns Mercenary Company, to recruit Jack. These Blue Suns were a little more civil than the ones on Korlus, allowing Shepard, Jacob and Kasumi to board the station and talk instead of shooting on sight. Perhaps the millions of credits The Illusive Man sent their way for Jack's release had improved their mood.
Speaking to Warden Kuril as they made their way to Out-processing, the team learned that the prison was actually an extortion racket, with Kuril extracting fees from prisoners' home worlds in exchange for not releasing them back there. Kuril justified his operation by claiming he was keeping the galaxy safe from dangerous criminals - since there was no way to escape from a space station, they were no longer a threat to anyone.
Kuril left to check on the status of Jack's transfer, while Shepard and crew continued on to Out-processing. Kasumi protested when she saw a prisoner being beaten, and Shepard was able to persuade the guard to stop. In the next cell, “Prisoner 780” asked them “if you're buying prisoners, can you buy me?” It seemed the rumours that the Suns sold prisoners to slavers were true. Prisoner 780 quickly chickened out when he found out Jack was coming with them. Their new recruit had quite the reputation. He provided some insight into life at the prison - it quickly became obvious why he wanted to leave - and claimed that the prisoner being beaten had “offed someone in the showers”, someone valuable to the Warden.
The Warden seemed like a classy guy, if these stories were to be believed. Kuril revealed his true colours as they arrived at Out-processing, when he radioed to tell them he had a cell all set up for them, since Shepard was more valuable as a prisoner than a customer. It seemed they were going to have to shoot some more Blue Suns after all. (Never trust a “barefaced” Turian, Shepard thought to herself).
They fought their was to the cryo-statis control room, where Jack was being held. There was no way to release her without letting all prisoners out, which caused a riot. They chased after Jack - who it turned out was a heavily tattooed woman with a shaved head - fighting more Blue Suns, leading to a final confrontation with Warden Kuril. Shepard was “too much trouble”, but he still hoped to recapture Jack. He was killed in the ensuing battle, however - so much for that plan.
They caught up with Jack in the docking bay. She was not happy to see that the Normandy was flying Cerberus colours. Shepard wondered how she recognized the logo - it wasn't exactly common knowledge - but she had a history with the organization, claiming that they had been after her for years. Jacob proposed knocking her out to get her on board, but Shepard refused. This situation was no different than hers on Lazarus Station - go with Cerberus or stay behind on a station on the brink of destruction, which was no real choice at all.
Jack agreed to come peacefully if Shepard gave her access to Cerberus databases. She was clearly searching for something specific, but since Shepard didn't care about Cerberus secrets getting out she agreed, and Jack joined the crew.
Back on the Normandy, Jack and Miranda quickly became BFFs (not). Shepard ordered Miranda to give Jack access to the databases she wanted. Miranda shook her head and walked away. This should be fun, Shepard thought to herself.

From the Personal Logs of the SSV Normandy: From the Personal Logs of the SSV Normandy, CO Commander Abigail Shepard reporting, March 17, 2186.
Took Javik and EDI out into the field. We hit a secret Cerberus facility on the planet Sanctum. And they were studying Reaper tech. I am dubious about bringing said technology back to the Alliance, but....Hackett ordered me so hopefully we have defenses.
EDI and Javik did perform adequetly out in the field. Though, I did feel like they hung me out to dry a few times.
***
March 20, 2186.
Traynor's hunch about Grissom Accademy was right. We found Cerberus parked outside and invading the school. We dealt with them promptly. Though I have never seen so many turrets and engineers in my life. We got it done though.
And ran into Jack, who is her usual charming self, but I think she is in a good place currently. Going to pop off to the Citadel soon before hitting the war summit.

Filed under: Personal I'm currently sitting in Admiral Anderson's apartment - actually mine now, since he insisted I take it - on the Citadel, sipping a glass of wine, relaxing. Relaxing in the middle of the Reaper war. Orders from Admiral Hackett. The Normandy needs to be in top shape for what's coming next, so all of us have a little shore leave. This place is amazing... and it has a hot tub. I can think of a few things to pass my time here. I'm sure Traynor agrees. It's odd to just sit around and wait, but after everything that happened I actually enjoy the thought of spending more time with my specialist. It's thanks to her we could follow Leng to his next destination. Horizon... What I saw there was terrifying. It was supposed to be a safe haven for war refugees, a sanctuary. An empty promise. It was all Cerberus. They used the refugees to learn more about the Reapers and experimented on them, turned them into husks, and actually found a way to control them. The man in charge was no other than Lawson's father. What a maniac. But he accomplished the impossible. If they really can control an actual Reaper at some point, this would be... an astounding achievement, as terrible as the circumstances under which it bore fruit were. Eventually, we found Mr. Lawson, as well as his two daughters. We found out earlier that Miranda and her sister were there, and Lawson held Oriana hostage. I intimidated him enough to let her go, but I knew Miranda wouldn't let him leave alive, and I was right. Miranda told us she'd put a tracer on Leng, so we could see where he headed next. Everything is in motion to finish Cerberus once and for all, just a little longer now. Moreau invited me for dinner in a fancy restaurant. He can be an idiot, but he is good at what he's doing. So I'll try to enjoy this evening out until Sam can join me at some point. Time to get my evening dress out... Pics: It's great to see Neva has developed respect for Miranda, I'm glad I went that way. I look forward to their Citadel date already Gasp. Javik, you nosy Prothean! One death at the exact same spot as last time, in the exact same way In the area where the multiple Ravagers are I went for cover and of course grenades come flying. I try to get out of cover and climb up to the side instead of just rolling away in the opposite direction... Boom. Hahaha

Only somewhat Mass Effect related:
For a user guide I wrote a few years ago (for a desktop application), I took a few screenshots. Some of these screenshots included text that contained the name of some Mass Effect characters such as Miranda Lawson and Jacob Taylor. So for the past few years, I had customer-facing documentation that included the names of Mass Effect characters in application screenshots.
Well today unfortunately I had to replace two of those screenshots with new ones taken by somebody else for an upcoming patch. Sadly, these new screenshots no longer contain any Mass Effect references. I think only one screenshot remains in that guide that has any Mass Effect references.
Very devastating, I know.
Also, I am getting an itch to play Mass Effect again. Not sure if I currently have the time to scratch that itch.

Today Karan finished his gardening. Despite quite a few deaths, there was no more cloud gazing. He spared the flower girl, felt a bit bad over killing the big squishy guy and had one last chat with everyone. Those colonists have a lot of one liners. He chatted with everyone on the Normandy. Much info was gathered, although he spent the most time being distracted by Tali's nose. It's just there, shining, moving around. Hypnotizing. *cough*
He then saved a chairman in distress, shot some zombies husks, petted a Thresher Maw, killed a Crime Lord and is now chilling with a disabled nuke. Wanted to write some snappy log for him, but the muse is on holiday. But it would probably have contained an ode to sleeping in a proper bed and not in a sleeper pod along with an existential crisis over killing men for selling Red Sand, when he himself was a Sand pusher not so long ago. Also a requisition order for a program that read the codex out loud when he was on the go. Because he was a busy man. And the Mako didn't have a radio.
