Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME1 Hardcore:
Exploring the Voyager Cluster with Garrus and Liara:
Agebinium: disabled a nuclear bomb that had fallen into the hands of Elanos Haliat, instigator of the Skyllian Blitz. Having no bomb-disposal experience, Melody used omni-gel to deactivate the detonators, despite Liara's alarm that she needed the omni-gel to keep the Mako in one piece. She then dealt with Haliat and his incompetent thugs by taking them by surprise from an excellent sniping spot.
Nepheron: stormed Cerberus' local command centre, neutralized all hostiles and obtained files from the mainframe. Melody was contacted by an agent of the Shadow Broker who claimed Admiral Kahoku had done a deal, promising copies of any Cerberus files. Melody refused to cooperate.
Hawking Eta cluster:
Presrop: at Hackett's request, went to retrieve Major Kyle, former Alliance officer with severe PTSD, now leading a biotic cult, and who had murdered the investigators charged with bringing him in. Melody Intimidated the cult spokesman into letting the party meet with Kyle, then Intimidated Kyle into surrendering.

More krogan melee tests for an ancient game, ME1... -Krogan melee damage protection bypass on Shepard seems to be related to Shepard's max health, and current fraction of health. -When Shepard has enough damage protection to prevent the bypass hit, the single hit is scaled for damage protection in a normal manner, the same as squadmates. So expected Inamorda melee damage at level 16 should be ~630.33 before reduction. -The bypass hit is effectively being scaled, relative to the total expected damage, but this bit of a reduction is not affected by any Shep damage protection bonuses I could easily test. In the original test, for instance, it was as if the bypass hit was getting a token 29% damage reduction compared to the relative 45% of total melee damage it should have made up.

It turns out that I miscalculated and I couldn't do all the Citadel DLC content + party, and then Thessia, Sanctuary and the rest. I didn't keep any N7 mission, new content didn't trigger. Well... back to the nonsense (for me) to have a party after Thessia and the rest. **** I took a couple of days to rest on Silversun Strip after going deep undersea to find Leviathan. I spent some more time with friends and team mates. I broke the Armax Arena scoreboard (couldn't just let Barla Von, a volus!!!! with a higher score). EDI wanted some online shopping with me. We played safe and avoided to deplete Joker's account - on the other hand, it would have been funny to see his face when presented with a new car and a big hole in his credit chip. EDI almost got me - for a moment, I honestly thought she was going to propose me. I met Jack for a match in Armax Arena - we kicked some Cerberus ass. Well, not real Cerberus, but still felt good Specialist Traynor and I were supposed to meet for lunch. I found her in a tournament of Kepesh-Yakshi and ordered her to defeat the arrogant asari. Offered moral support and was happy to see the asari defeated and knocked down. Who would have thought that Zaeed is such a child? crying over not being able to beat a children's game? I helped him win... I took Javik in Arena to fight the protheans of the future - the collectors. They came with flying abominations option. Was nice. I resurrected him and Garrus several times, until I gave up and finished the match alone. Asari councilor had an urgent message which interrupted our shore leave activities. We headed to Thessia, to recover an artifact. We were hoping this will lead us to the Catalyst and we can end this war. Thessia was a disaster. All asari defenses gone. We lost. I lost. Defeated by Kay Leng. The artifact was in fact another prothean beacon, and Kai Leng made his entrance exactly when the VI was about to reveal the nature of the Catalyst. He left with it and we were left to watch how Thessia is devoured by reapers. I am not sure if I was trying to convince the asari or myself that this artifact will bring an end to the war Leaving with the beacon... Fall of Thessia Liara was devastated. I am trying to understand, but can't get over her selfish attitude. Earth is burning, Palaven is burning as well. Batarians are history. Didn't comfort her - anyway, Tali was there ready to do so. Thessia brought up also an interesting historic discovery: protheans kind of uplifted the asari, in the dawn of their evolution. Another thing Liara could not swallow. I watched her having a quarrel with Javik - did not interfere. **** Sanctuary next. Hope I am able to finish until 23rd March. I have audit at work and a workload that will probably make me sleep there...

Finished ME1 run the other day. Now about 6 hrs into a ME2 run. Took Grunt and Garrus to get Jack. Not sure if I ever took Grunt on that mission but he makes me laugh. "She is small", "Oh I want to see this" after Jack tears the bots a new one or "Hurry I want to see how long she lasts"

Ian Shepard:
- Anderson hacked Udina's terminal to get the Normandy off the Citadel. I helped an addict get into recovery. - Landed on Ilos because Joker is awesome. Found Colossus armor! Met Vigil, a Prothean VI that got left behind and explained the Conduit's purpose. Fought through geth to get to the Conduit and use it as an entrance to the Citadel. - Walked outside to reach the Citadel Tower. Destroyed a geth drop ship. Convinced Saren that Synthesis was the wrong way to go so he committed suicide. Took control of the Citadel. Fought Sovereign in Saren's corpse. Saved the Council, at the cost of many human lives. Sovereign was destroyed. And, in my little bit of revenge against Udina, I chose Anderson to be the very first human councilor.

Udina grounded Jane Shepard by locking down the Normandy. Shepard told Anderson to go punch him in the face. Anderson punched Udina in the face, then hacked his computer to let Shepard go after Saren,
Jane landed on Ilos, killed some Geth, talked to a Prothean VI and got a data file. She killed more Geth, then took the Conduit back to the Citadel.
She space-walked outside the Citadel Tower and killed a bunch more Geth along with some more Krogan.
She confronted Saren in the Council Chambers. He flew on his hoverboard. Jane shot him full of holes. She told Joker to have the Alliance save the Destiny Ascension and then she opened the Citadel's arms. Sovereign turned Saren's corpse into a Robot Frog; she killed it dead, then the Alliance destroyed Sovereign. Jane barely dodged Sovereign debris.
The Citadel Council asked humanity to join the council. Jane recommended Anderson for the job, then walked off because she needed sleep.
* * *
My controller started acting up. The power wheel was not always coming up, or sometimes it activate barrier before coming up. Really annoying.

Today Karan saved a turian platoon on Tuchanka, learned Eve's soul name and cured the genophage. Alas, his poor buddy Mordin did not survive to see his work undone, but Karan assured Wreav and Eve that wherever he was, he was looking down on them, smiling. If you find the body, pay no mind to the big gaping hole in his back. Probably just shrapnel. Anyways. After a good deed done he had a chat with his crew and the Salarian Councillor. She wanted to meet with him, to talk about Udina's spending habits. While Karan knew of his trips to Afterlife, he suspected he would not waste money on strip joints during a reaper invasion.
When he landed on the Citadel, he was delayed by Cerberus. Since my reflexes have not been returned (and I did suffer greatly during the platoon mission) it took some time to get past them. But he made it and the elevator ride was surprisingly smooth. Ground team was Liara and Edi. Edi had some good moments, already snapping pictures of the dead (Too soon Edi, Liara said) and offering to cut of Phantom hands so we could study their dark energy blast. While I'm not a fan of her getting a new body, I do enjoy her "Killer Robot" moments. High five for the Incinerator and that better not be a joke.
Anywhos. While I have been missing Kaidan lately, Ashley was delightful and showed some teeth during the stand off. But since Janet is to get the honors, Karan renegaded her to his side. It was a pretty neat line as well. Karan then completed his collection of killing Councillor of all races. Or maybe it was trigger reflex. I aint telling you nothing. He then Paragoned Ash back onto the Normandy. Cosmic balance and all that. And well. That Tali-Ash connection man. Woman. Amoeba.
Karan then put on the stupid helmet and softly wept as we headed into the Kelphic Valley. It went way smoother than I imagined. Which was great. Go team. Poor Victus and his son. But go team! Also, the helmet has a cool visor patch, so it's not that stupid. Still wish it offered some neck protection, in case sexy space vampires were on the prowl.
After a short chat sweep it was time to Swiggity Swooty to get that booty. Booty being Geth, because mmm-mmm, those Geth Primes are something else. Realized I could have done the bomb mission with Tali and Ash. But I really don't wanna. I hate that mission. Turians are so squishy and the other try went so well. Maybe if I make another Talimancer.
Geth dreadnought went well. Karan, Tali and Ash make excellent geth hunters. Also rescued Koris and did the interfacing. Next session will be Rannoch, then oodles and doodles of N7 missions before Thessia. Yay.

Just finished Horizon and only now, after 20+ games, do I get what Hackett is talking about when he says, "That Cerberus lab you raided hinted at something big, but we never expected this." He's talking about the N7 Cerberus Lab mission! How did I never catch this before?! Anyone know what he says if you haven't done that mission before Horizon?

Just wrapped up the Geth Consensus mission. I am sure if I were to binge I could knockout the rest of ME 3 in the next 24 hours before MEA is fully released but I want to be fresh for MEA so binging is not likely. I still want to finish this trilogy run of course so I might trade off between ME3 and MEA but honestly ME3 might just end up getting sidelined for the time being.

Probably pointless because I know come midnight tomorrow I'm done, but I'm importing Ian Shepard to ME2. He's a Colonist/War Hero/Adept. Almost pure Paragon who saved the Council. Started a romance with Ash that ended with her death on Virmire. Wrex lives!
- The Normandy blew up and I died in the vacuum of space, gasping for air. Before I died, I helped Joker to a life pod and saw Kaidan wearing Ash's old pink and white Phoenix armor. Did Kaidan know there was something between Ash and I? Was that flirting?? - Woke up in pain. "Miranda" directed me from loudspeakers to get my armor and a pistol. There was a mech uprising and I had to fight my way out. Met another biotic named Jacob. Then Jacob told me Cerberus was behind Project Lazarus - the same organization that had been responsible for the death of Alliance marines and Admiral Kahoku. Met Wilson, who was soon killed by Miranda, and said he was behind the mech attacks. - Taken to see the Illusive Man. Already don't like him but he may be the only option for saving human colonies that are being abducted by the Collectors, who TIM believes are agents of the Reapers.

I've got to finish up the party (left at the start of dance mode), then do Cronos and Earth. Not sure I can finish everything up by tomorrow night, and definitely not by 9pm PST when MEA officially unlocks.

Yeah now that I think of it there is no way I am knocking out ME 3 tomorrow. I still have to finish the Rannoch arc (1 mission left), Citadel DLC, Omega, Leviathan, Thessia, Horizon, Cronos, and Earth. If I try to do all that tomorrow I will have a pounding headache by the time I start up MEA and I would rather be good and fresh for MEA. On average when it comes to ME 2 and ME 3 playthroughs I will do about two missions at a time.

Doing a ME2/ME3 SP playthrough in anticipation of ME:A, and I've timed it pretty much perfectly: only the final London/Earth mission left, which I'll do tonight, and hopefully I'll get my copy of ME:A in the mail early tomorrow afternoon!

I recruited Dr. Michel to Normandy. I didn't now you could do that, pretty nice! She's always been one of my favorite minor NPC's.
Went to Grissom Academy to ruin Cerberus' day and recruit biotics to Alliance's war effort. One of the students there had same name as my Shepard. It's funny because that hasn't happened to me before in games where you can name your character (not that I remember anyway).
After, I went to the Citadel and happened to meet Miranda. She wanted to talk about Oriana, but I didn't do her loyalty mission in ME2 so why would Shepard be interested to help her now? Everyone she's met has someone they're worried about. She didn't trust Miranda back when they were both working for Cerberus and sees no reason to trust her now. I always kind of thought it would've been rather more fitting if Miranda stayed loyal to Cerberus. Was kind of disappointed when she didn't end up betraying Shepard the first time I played ME3.

So I am wondering are we going to make a thread like this for MEA in the MEA spoilers section? It wouldn't be right to post what did in MEA here at least not until everyone has had a chance to finish a playthrough of it.

I think there may already be a thread in the MEA section but I haven't looked for fear of running into spoilers.

Yeah I am avoiding that section like the plague right now. I am afraid if I even click on that forum the threads will have spoilers in their titles. Though I have to say I am pretty impressed with the moderation here in the few weeks I have been here.

Ian Shepard:
- After talking to TIM, I met the others. First impressions: Miranda is a bitch and doesn't trust me while Jacob worships me but trusts Cerberus (bad thing). - Found the very empty colony of Freedom's Progress. Some quarians were there, including Tali. There's some serious bad blood between Cerberus and the quarians. The quarians didn't follow orders and died - except for Tali and Veetor, the latter of whom was on his pilgrimage. Veetor showed video of the Collectors abducting human colonists. - Talked with TIM. I don't like him and don't trust him but I do believe he does want to help humanity. Since none of my old squad was available I agreed to track down his suggestions. Also, he had recruited Joker and given me a larger version of what looked like the Normandy, which was christened the Normandy SR2. Emerging pattern: The Council and the Alliance hushed up evidence of the Reapers and broke apart my squad. - Normandy has an AI called EDI. Sexy yeoman Kelly Chambers. But she's not Ash. Found something like an Alliance uniform. Can't wear Cerberus colors. Two engineers fled the Alliance over the Reapers, Donnelly and Daniels. Doctor Chakwas took a leave of absence from the Alliance when she was informed I was back and working with Cerberus. Rupert Gardner is our chef and wants to be a good one. Miranda is much more open post-Freedom's Progress. Maybe we can get along. My cabin blows away what I had on the SR1: giant aquarium, comfy double bed, private facilities...I could get used to this. - Went to the SR1 crash site on Alchera. Found dog tags of all the deceased, some personal logs of Pressly, my old helmet and lots of memories. I left a memorial, as per the wishes of Admiral Hackett stated in an email he sent me. - Recruited master thief Kasumi Goto. Captain Bailey made me alive. Legally. Avina said it was 2 years, 3 months and 17 days since my last visit. Spent money on the important things in life: a space hamster, some fish and some ship models for the display case in my cabin - all at "former Spectre" discount. Danced at Dark Star. It's no Flux. Made a reporter look like a first-class jerk - again. Met Anderson and the rest of the Council. The ones who were always morons remain morons. Still, I got my Spectre status reinstated.

So I am wondering are we going to make a thread like this for MEA in the MEA spoilers section? It wouldn't be right to post what did in MEA here at least not until everyone has had a chance to finish a playthrough of it. Hope so. Of course, I've already played for 10 hours so it can't do my usual write-up until my second PT. In any case, I believe you can just start the thread yourself if it's not already there. themikefest created this one out of the ashes of the old BSN boards.

I remember the original ones on the old boards because not to pat myself on the back but I was the one that started them. That said I am not even going into the spoiler forum until I finish my first playthrough. So one of us will have to create that thread though it may have already been created.

melbella If you don't do the Cerberus lab before Horizon, Hackett just skips the line. Karan did a bunch of stuff today. Rough retelling of the events: First he went house shopping with Tali and killed a bunch of Geth. Did oodles of N7 quests, Benning, Cerebus on Tuchanka and Fuel Reactor. He also saved Jacobs bacon and stopped Samara from making a fatal mistake. Next up was a visit to Thessia with Liara and Tali. It went south, so the Normandy was grounded while Karan beat his stress out on some Cat6 fellows. Citadel went amazingly well. During his solo part, almost all the shots were head shots and Karan only ate the floor once. Tali's content was quite cute. The group combat went swimmingly and impostor man went down easily. True, Karan did eat floor a few times, but it was more of a minor annoyance rather than difficulty frustration. Karan failed to save impostor from his fall from grace and Ashley shot Brooks. There can be only one set of fantastic hair. After that adventure Karan chilled with Jacob, Traynor, Zaeed, James and Garrus. He also freed the Spider Queen with his adopted Krogan son. Then he had some fun on Horizon and gave Miranda an invitation to an upcoming party. Orianna was invited as well if she wanted. Henry not as much. He ended the session by parking the Normandy outside the first planet mission of Leviathan. Needs to do a quick chat sweep of the Normandy before landing on the planet, but that is for the next session. Some weird stuff happened during this session. James asked to be invited up to Shepard's cabin, despite Shepard not buying him drinks in Purgatory. Traynor went the opposite way and refused to spill the beans on her Kai Leng tracking skills. Still, Karan had played chess with her and generally displayed a positive attitude towards her. But, new content I suppose. Garrus also did some freaky stuff on his rooftop date with Karan. And they didn't even kiss. Luckily it was minor, Garrus body trailed a bit and I spotted Karan's gigantic head in the background for only a few seconds. After the scene, Karan decided to climb one of the docking bay's sofas (but did not get stuck) and was sassed by a passing Keeper. So it was a fairly fun day for Karan.

I always assumed Hackett was referring to sanctuary as the cerberus lab. Damn I should have been paying closer attention.
