The spaceship, Starship Avalon, on its 120-year voyage to a distant colony planet known as "Homestead II" and transporting 5,259 people has a malfunction in two of its sleep chambers. As a result, two hibernation pods open prematurely and the two people that awoke (Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt) are stranded on the spaceship, still 90 years from their destination.

In the most recent trailer it looks like SisterRyder is the first to awaken. If true, I wonder if that fact will be at all significant to the story.

I'm not sure if this is intentional given the subject matter, but in all the media that's been released for this film, neither of the leads seem like they're real people to me. It's like they're wearing too much makeup or something.

Love the concept of the movie.. but something about Chriss Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence I'm like; meh. Perhaps its the age difference? The pairing sounds wrong.
But I'm still intriqued in the movie because I think they are both great actors.

I think Jennifer Lawrence is too much overestimated as a actress but i like Chris Pratt. Besides it is a damn space sci-fi movie! There is no way i am not going to watch it.  |

Also, not to be an SJW but it feels off to feature such a plain white GAP couple in such a fantastic futuristic setting. I'm not complaining... it's not bad. It's just... it would've been a more provocative look to have one Asian in there or something. |

yeah yet another rip off of the pandorum storyline ..... Ah, Pandorum. I really enjoyed that film. This one needs more monsters, or a gravity drive that leads to hell. ahh so changing it up byu adding in a twist of doom, interesting to be honest most of the films recently about space have been cool looking cgi action flicks with a dodgy storyline or snoozefest "i R gorgus" epics that don't even have any real plot and aside from a different backdrop are even worse than the films they copied .... at least with serenity it was a cool version of a pirate film, hell even Jupiter ascending had excellent cgi action and cool factor toys, starwars /startrek also has the geek and action angles with the cool factor of gadgets and space... pandorum wasn't really my cup of tea because I hate psychological stuff (its generally just lazy with predictable "twists") but it did have plenty of freaky alienesq stuff going on so it was at least rewatchable........ if this is anything like the current brand marketing stuff that mat damon's been in recently it will be dire though at least they didn't pick someone with less talent than a block of wood .... |
