If DAI is anything to go by, the game will run well on weaker PCs (I first played it on my laptop with a GTX 675MX) but the highest setting will be fairly demanding. On my new gaming PC (1440p monitor) I was way below 60fps with a GTX 970. Sometimes close to 30... I'll be getting a 1070 soon (sold my 970 months ago) so I'll be good. But I wouldn't worry with a 970 or 980 (on 1080p anyway). DA:I was released for previous gen consoles as well though. Since going for only current gen consoles and pc the requirements might go up some.

True that. Then again the game still needs to be playable on the current consoles, so it can't be that bad.

I can see that I might have to finally upgrade my cpu (and motherboard and ram :/) if I want to play this game on decent settings. The 6350 isn't going to cut it going forward.

well I upgraded my pc earlier this year, shoved the ram to 16gb and replaced the r9-270 2gb with an rx480 8gb, i was looking at the NVidia cards but the cheapest one launched with a price tag nearly double that of the amd so it really wasn't a question
i think my next upgrade will be a new ssd cos the Samsung 840 is nearing its expected 5 yr life ex point, maybe i'll get two newer ones though and use one for games to load on instead of a spinner to avoide the load lag they generate/

I would think that any AAA game on that engine will more or less run the same, yes. After modding Skyrim ANY other game feels silky smooth and well optimized.

I might upgrade my card to a 480 with 8 gigs of RAM, from 290.
Dunno. We'll have to see.

Let's keep this simple. Were you able to play DA:I at least in medium settings? If yes then you're gonna be playing ME:A at about the same settings (maybe slightly lower). If no then I'd worry a bit more, but you'll still be able to play I think, just at crappy settings.
Remember that DA:I was the first Bio game that used Frosbite and in my opinion they did a good job. It's only natural that they improved the engine for ME:A. Graphics wise, ME:A doesn't particularly look much more superior than DA:I's, so I don't think they'll ask for some crazy builds, and even if they do remember that most of the time is bullshit. They amp their system specs just to appeal to the market and make people upgrade unnecessarily their PCs.

True, but I think that it'd be just for me, to help future proof my system rather than to do it just for a game.
I dunno though. Like I said, I'm still deciding.

Just checked out a youtube clip of Battlefield 1 running pretty decent on a gtx 680. That raised my hopes a bit. Then maybe OC my cpu a bit if needed and I might actually get some halway decent performance after all!

OK, I just bought Battlefield 1 to test my rig and sure it wasn't maxed out but I pulled 60 fps in some situations and it looked gorgeous. Guess my rig still has some juice left! Andromeda here I come!

I tried the beta on a 660Ti (not overclocked) and was able to play at average 60fps with the settings on medium. Game still looked fantastic.

Impressed by the Frostbite engine to be honest, seems well optimized. DICE knows their stuff!

Just guessing here based on DAI I recon:
Minimum Specs: GPU: 2gb, gtx 770 or better RAM: 8gb CPU: Intel i5 mid range 2.0ghz
Recommended: GPU: 4gb, gtx 970 or better RAM: 16gb CPU: Intel i7 mid range or better 3.0ghz
Utra/4k: GPU: 8gb+, gtx 1070, 1080 RAM: 16gb (DDR4) CPU: 4.0ghz, Intel i7 6700k or better

I played DA:I on my Alieanware M15X on medium settings. It has the following specs: Radeon 5800 HD Mobility (1 GB) 6 GB RAM Intel i7 1.7 GHz.
I'll be getting a newer computer before ME:A, but if anyone is concerned - I'm pretty sure GTX 660 and above could make it work on at least minimum settings.

I do hope I'll be able to play it decently on my 2014 machine. I wasn't planning on upgrading till 2018 or so (you know when Star Citizen might be out).

Think Andromeda will run on a comp with a 6850 Radeon? My guess is yes, at least on minimum, possibly on medium, 1080p resolution (not on 4K naturally).

The minimum required graphics memory for Dragon Age Inquisition was 512MB so laptops with 1GB will probably be fine with medium to low settings.

The minimum required graphics memory for Dragon Age Inquisition was 512MB so laptops with 1GB will probably be fine but you might as well be playing on console really. Didn't really want to bring it up, but I played with a controller on my PC, and discovered something REALLY annoying: the PC version controls require A LOT more processing power than the console one. With PC controls, I was only able to run it on low settings. When I used the controller, I was able to upgrade it to medium settings... It made me think that the game was desgined for console, and the PC controls are something built on top of that which requires more resources. Really annoying. Also for some reason, even when the settings didn't change, while playing with PC controller the graphics seemed to be grainier than it did with the controller. Again really annoying.

Hadn't considered using a controller with aim-assist would make a large cpu difference. I'll try this myself with Inquisition.

Ive been seeing alot of speculation as to what the minimum and recommended specs are going to be for me:a. If they are going to be running on consoles, i think its safe to assume you wont be needing an expensive/top of the line gpu/rig. Im looking to upgrade the gpu for my rig just for this game really. I played the trilogy on my 560ti on max settings and it ran smooth.
My question is it worth getting a 4k monitor and of course a gpu that can handle it? Ive seen the gtx 1060 either the 3gb or 6gb claim to support full 4k and they arent that expensive.
