G'kar and Londo really did get a crazy good character arc. Hell everyone on this show did.

G'kar and Londo really did get a crazy good character arc. Hell everyone on this show did. Those two had truly remarkable story/character arcs; they are a big part of why I keep coming back to this show.

I personally thought G'kar got more awesome once he became Citizen G'kar.
Plus this guy gets it:

Season 5 is my least favorite but , boy oh boy, did it have an amazing opening theme. Definitely my favorite theme, with S3 as a runner-up

There's like no characters I dont enjoy on this show. Its amazing. Usually I have one or two that I just go "meh" at. But not on this show.

I lurk in the thread but as I haven't watched the show all the way through in maybe five or six years (and maybe four or five times in total) it's not fresh enough in my mind to be able to get into such deep character/lore-based discussions as you tend to favour. Sounds like someone's due for a rewatching. No, but seriously, this thread is meant for all fans, it's not just a sounding board for my discussions. If you want to post pictures, videos, short thoughts on anything B5 related, whatever you want. I hope I'm not making anyone feel like you need to have the episodes memorized to contribute lol. JUst found the thread. Babylon 5 is still my favorite scifi show. The characters and storylines hook me up every time, I do a rerun (and I do a lot of reruns ). My favorites are of course Londo and G'Kar, but also Sinclair, Lennier, Delenn and Neroon. OH - and I loved Wortham Krimmer as Cartagia - he had far too much fun playing that villain (and he is such a nice person in rl, saw him at a con once) Welcome! Awesome that you met somebody from the show. I'd love to meet Bruce Boxleitner or Mira Furlan or Walter Koenig or anyone from B5, really. It's a great tragedy that some of them are no longer with us. Like I said elsewhere, we'll always have Sinclair, G'Kar, Garibaldi, Dr. Franklin and Zack but the lights of Michael O'Hare, Andreas Katsulas, Jerry Doyle, Richard Biggs and Jeff Conway will never brighten our lives again- or at least not until we make that final journey. Friends, a toast, to departed stars. "From the stars we came to the stars we return, from now until the end of time" I forget so many of the cast aren't with us anymore. Wish I'd found this thread sooner, one of my all time favourite shows.

Probably posted this before but here's all the season themes:
Hard to say which one I prefer. 1 2 and 4 are variations of the classic theme which I really enjoy. 3 is exciting for the heat of battle feel, given it's at the height of the Shadow War. And 5 carries a sense of victory and graduation. Difficult to choose between them, they've all grown on me for different reasons. I suppose if I can cheat, the "extended" part of the Season 1 theme I'm meh about.

She had the worst luck on that show. Even more then Lyta. Hey at least she'd had sex. Marcus on the other hand... Still though, some of the most heart wrenching moments are Ivanova moments. Also some of the most awesome. And some of the funniest. My God, she may be one of the best written (and acted) female characters of all time. Anyway, glad to see this thread has life again. Here's a thing that just popped up on my Youtube, fun watch:

The season 3 opening has long been what I associate most with this show. The music, the Centauri fighter attacking the Narn ship, the reflected face of Londo as he observes the firing of a mass driver (and the emotion it conveys), and the voice of Susan Ivanova proclaiming "it failed" -- these are all such powerful images and moments for me. It doesn't hurt that season 3 is also my favourite. I always wondered if it was JMS's intention to have different actors voice the intro to each season, or if that was something they were forced into with the circumstances at the end of season 1.

I think it was a bit of both, he made sure to have exit strategies in case an actor/actress departed.
Been watching this while getting ready for work.

I always wondered which lucky bastard ended up taking this beauty after the show ended: I imagine JMS had first dibs on it. Mr. Straczynski, if you're ever in need of a kidney... or an assassin...

^Speaking of which I need to write my review (read: random, not guaranteed to be cogent ramblings) on the rest of the Techno-mage trilogy, and the Psi-Corps trilogy as well.
Overall stance though: would definitely recommend both series.
