Decided to continue my 4th playthrough of the series I started a month ago. Last time in LE1 Shepard just finished Eden Prime and made it to the Citadel for the first time. Today I completed all of the quests currently possible on the Citadel. Scanned all of the Keepers for Chorban. Resolved the dispute between Chorban and Jahleed. Got Rita's sister Jenna out of Chora's den. Along with Wrex and Garrus killed Fisk and rescued Tali. Submitted Tali's evidence to the Council and Saren has been stripped of his Spectre status. Shepard is the first human Spectre and must hunt down Saren. Settled the disputes between General Septimus, Shaira, and Xeltan. Convinced Bahtia to leave his wife's body with the Alliance. Since I built Shepard specifically for an Ashley romance I've been bringing her along. I heard her say things I never heard her say before. Like her dialogue with serviceman Bahtia's husband. Got Emily Wong evidence from Fisk's office on illegal activity on the Citadel. Rescued the doctor twice from the medical clinic. First time with Garrus and then with Kaidan and Ashley.

Rescued Liara last night the mission was harder than I last remembered. I also found out the fates of Admiral Kahoku's men. Killed two thresher maws one near Kahoku's men and one on an ice planet. Found out the fate of Garoth's brother whose went missing along with his ship the Majesty.

- Noah, Ashley and Liara picked up a rare package on Eden Prime, taking a living Prothean back from Cerberus. Noah naturally was wary of their new guest, but after talking to him he had to admit that Javik said some things he could relate to, and thought they might get along after all. - Afterwards, Noah, Ash and James liberated a fuel reactor from Reaper forces, losing the present captain there in the process. She was commended posthumously later on. - The team went to check on what turned out to be an Ardat-Yakshi monastery. They bumped into Samara, who tried to find her daughters, but that didn't change Noah's plan of finishing the work of the asari commandos there, blowing the place to hell. The Reapers had started to turn Ardat-Yakshi into abominations. Only one of Samara's daughters made it out alive, and Samara shot herself in order to save her daughter. She promised to stay at the monastery and that the Reapers wouldn't take her alive. That was enough reason for Noah to leave her alive. - Noah gained more support for the Crucible by recruiting some ex-Cerberus scientists. Jacob was among them, so it was easy to trust they weren't all spies for the Illusive Man. - Noah delivered some things on the Citadel before trying to meet with the asari councilor. But it never came to this, since he followed Hackett's message about a Dr. Bryson. He just wanted to talk to the doctor, but ended up chasing a monster. A monster that was responsible for all the pain the Reapers caused, but now finally fought against them as well instead of hiding. Leviathan, the origin of the Reapers... If he didn't need them in order to win the war, Noah would have been glad to somehow kill those that remained. They're dangerous as hell. - Noah returned to the Citadel and set a meeting with the asari Councilor, who hinted at something valuable for the war effort hidden on Thessia. Noah took any lead he could find. While the Normandy stocked up on some more necessities before leaving, Noah killed some time with a couple people of his current and former crew - Javik, Jacob, James, Tali, Miranda, Steve, Jack. Eden Prime Monastery business Recruiting some scientists Was surprised to go that route with Noah, but it felt comfortable to do that. Back on the Citadel Leviathan Noah denied Miri resources to do her thing, oh oh! I thought about that choice for a couple days, but in the end it's very in-character to do it that way, and I've had Miranda alive for the past few playthroughs, soooo... whoopsie

Did a lot last night though right now I can't remember much. I do remember Shepard freed that government official that was taken hostage by biotics. Shepard got Wrex his grandfather's armor. Shepard helped Garrus hunt down Dr. Saleon. Shepard ended up killing him instead to teach Garrus a lesson of not hesitating when the target is in sight. Killed another thresh maw I think that was the last one. I think there are only three in the game in total. Killed one of the crime lords from the 'Hostile Takeover' mission. The Normandy passed the ship inspection with flying colors the admiral was happy with my answers. Did the interview with that female reporter whose name is too hard for me to remember or spell. Shepard did pretty good in the interview just messed up mentioning Saren. But Shepard did not get in trouble. Oh and yeah in my second conversation with Liara she confessed her love for Shepard. He let her down easy. Got to learn more about Wrex, Liara, Garrus, Kaidan, Ashley, and Tali. SInce I am a Soldier my ground team usually consists of Wrex and Tali. Sometimes I'll swap out Wrex for Liara. I wanted to use Ashley more but since my Shepard is already a Soldier there's no point having two on the ground team.

I think there are 9: 7 planets have 1, and 1 planet (Nonuel?) has 2. I have a list but my notebook isn't right in front of me atm.

Wow, really!? I don't remember facing so many. I thought had explored every system. I guess I missed some planets. Anyway when riding in the Mako I am wary when the land is completely flat lol.

Rallying the Galaxy for a counterstrike against the Reapers is no easy task. Case in point, Cerberus continued to be an obstacle. Shep returned to where it all began: Eden Prime, where she uncovered not just any old Prothean device, but an actual living, breathing Prothean referred to as Javik, and he is out for Reaper blood. Her next stop was Grissom Academy, to save a bunch of kids from Cerberus, naturally. Then came the summit in order to make an alliance that can turn the tide in the war. One one solution can be made for the Krogan and Turians to work together and stand by humanity to save Earth. The Genophage Cure. Shep & company traveled to Sur'Kesh, the Salarian homeworld, to rescue the last remaining female Krogan immune to the disease. After dealing with a few bumps along the way, including helping her Krogan son deal with Reaper enslaved Rachni, saving a Turian platoon, destroying a bomb, and plowing through tons of Reaper forces, the Genophage was cured, but at great cost... 50,000 Year Nap... Saved By The Belle... Krogan Queen... There Be (Indoctrinated) Rachni... Junior Platoon... Out With A Bang... Be Gone, Genophage...

Thoug hhaving said tha tSoldiers are the only ones who can use adrenalin erush and Concussive shot though. Soldier used t obe on eof my favourites if I wanted t oplay the game as a classic shooter wi than yweapon I want. No wwith the changes it's better t omaybe go with an actual powers class. I haven't played Soldier on the LE ye tthough so I might find some other wa yto make playing Soldier exciting but Ican't speak for that though. Soldier's the onl one I've not played on the LE yet though as I've played the other 5.

Finish the mission where Shepard had to kill two crime lords for Helena Blake. No thresher maws thank goodness. Though I was worried when riding on flat land. Completed Feros and saved all 16 colonists except the leader. I wish there was a peaceful resolution with the Thorian. Such a shame we had to destroy a being that has been around for thousands of years. But anyway it and the colony leader were scripted to die. I found Kahoku's corpse in a Cerberus research facility. Have to now destroy the main Cerberus base of operations.

There was a way of getting around it though as yo ucould choos eextra weapon trainin gas a bonus power onc you bea tthe gam e and things like tha jus tlike you ca nchoose bonus powers in the LE. I want to try another scenario in the foreseeable future, but on Xbox. I want my Shep to have the same name, face backstory, class, etc, but I want to make some alterations that would make her more Paragade/Neutral. I want the playthrough to be more grim but still hopeful. For example, I want Garrus to kill Dr. Saleon & take out Sidonis (Mercy Kill), Shepard to kill Finch, Toombs, Balak, Jeong (in self defense), and Rana Thanoptis, the Alliance fleet to concentrate on Sovereign, Miranda to kill Niket, and Zaeed to kill Vido, along with all the new changes I've made recently, like convincing Kasumi to get rid of Keiji's Graybox, and destroying the Heretics. I also want to use both Paragon and Renegade exploits (UNC: Lost Module & Lorik Quinn) so that I can do both Besieged Base, and The Negotiation.
I kind of want my Mass Effect experience to be like a Western, where the main character is good, but also gets their hands dirty without looking like the bad guy. A Paragade. Neutral Good. She lets Garrus kill Saleon because he's a diranged psychopath, letting Balak go would only put more colonies at risk. Letting Vido go would only allow him to enslave more civilians. Sure Zaeed eventually kills him, but six months is a long time. As for the Council, Sovereign is an unknown. A machine with power the likes of which no one has ever seen. Time is running out. It's logical to concentrate all firepower to take the Reaper down to save the Galaxy. As Spock once said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one."
Again, compassionate when needed, and making tough decisions without being evil. Good to hear friends, lethal to her enemies. She'll comfort Tali after she sees her dead father in on scene, then burn a Krogan from the Werloc Clan alive in another.
What do you think about this?

No thresher maws thank goodness. Though I was worried when riding on flat land.
Found my list
Thresher Maws can be found on:
Antibaar Trebin Edolus Xawin Nepheron Presrop Chohe Nonuel (2)
Thank you for this invaluable list. Now I don't have to be paranoid when I land on a planet and drive on flat land.

As Spock once said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one." Again, compassionate when needed, and making tough decisions without being evil. Good to hear friends, lethal to her enemies. She'll comfort Tali after she sees her dead father in on scene, then burn a Krogan from the Werloc Clan alive in another. What do you think about this? If you take Wrex with you to Chora's Denn, he will shoot Fist for you, no questions asked. I'm not sure Rana Thanoptis fits the 'not being evil' bill though, after all she does help Shepard and just stands there doing nothing threatening after that.
I'd recommend the 'Shoot Elnora Even Faster' mod for LE2 to go with this playthrough - but i still haven't gotten around to actually getting the LE. So i only heard that mod exists
Edit: Oh xbox, so no mods for you then I tried to play some Shepards like that, some of the choices are a bit weirdly paced, e.g., the one for Elnora or even shooting Charn on X57. But it works with enough retroactive headcanonizing

But it works with enough retroactive headcanonizing Doesn't Rana kill a bunch of people in ME3 because she was indoctrinated the whole time? How can Shep let her go, if I want Miranda to shoot Niket, or Mordin to shoot Maelon? Anyway, about my comment above, I have completely stopped my current playthrough. I'm actually really excited to do the aforementioned scenario. Just need to get an Xbox first. I also have to move first, so it might be a while. In regards to the decisions in game, specifically being Paragon and Renegade, you don't think she'll seem a bit bipolar, do you? For example, she'll charm to convince Cole to give her the extra items on Eden Prime (threatening the civilian would be out of place) and the C-Sec officer to allow the Hanar to preach on the Presidium, but she'll also intimidate to resolve the situation between the biotic extremists and Chairman Burns. Compassionate towards some, especially with friends, but more aggressive to enemies, or other kinds of obstacles. Take Toombs for example. I would like for Shep to have no choice but to shoot him down, then arrest the scientist. She'd save the wounded Batarian in Mordin's recruitment mission, as well as the wounded Salarian in Thane's, but leave the refinery workers to die to stop a dangerous man like Vido from getting away. A hero who makes tough decisions, even if there are sacrifices. I mean, how would you describe a character like this? Are there any examples of characters like this?

Did a lot of side quests last night, though I don't remember them all. I shutdown the hidden Cerberus research facility. I shut down two facilities that involved Exo-Geni, one also involved Cerberus as well. I convinced Conrad Verner to stay on Earth. There was much more but I forgot them. ?tonight Noveria. Oh! I disabled a bomb on an old space probe that was activated by an old enemy of Shepard.

Yes Rana kills a bunch of people and costs you some war assets in ME3, but at the time of ME1 Shepard does not know that. According to Rana herself, she is not yet indoctrinated but fears becoming so if she were to work longer at Saren's facility. But i guess there are enough instances were shooting someone is handled with a weird pacing that you can make this work for your Shepard as well. Its only bipolar if you choose to interpret it that way. I guess most of the weird pacing in ME1 comes from the technical side of the dialogue system, and there being no interrupts yet.
Hm not sure how i'd call that stereotype, but Capt. Malcom Reynolds comes to mind (Firefly) - Well, i don't think he would try to convince anyone to let someone preach

Last night I took out all four Geth outposts plus their main base of operations. Fought a thresher maw (that makes four). Finished Noveria.

Hm not sure how i'd call that stereotype, but Capt. Malcom Reynolds comes to mind (Firefly) - Well, i don't think he would try to convince anyone to let someone preach I was thinking about the whole Rana thing more. It's weird, I spare Shiala on Feros all the time. Would sparing Shiala and not Rana be hypocritical? I mean, we're talking about two different situations, right? Shiala was another one of the Thorian's victims, but she also worked for Saren (technically Benezia). But her words were sincere, and she did help a great deal with the cipher. As for Rana, the encounter was after all the indoctrinated test subject (some of whom Shepard shot down out of mercy). Victims of experiments that turned them into mindless Husks. She was part of that house of horrors. However, it doesn't seem like she was there willingly. I don't know. Virmire is a screwed up place. Screwed up things happened there.

Wrapped up the rest of the sidequests and did Virmire. On Virmire I chose to save Ashley. I've played this game 4 times and for the first time I got a little emotional with Kaidan's death. Oh I forgot to mention in this playthrough I am using a few mods such as the Community patch. I also fought my 5th thresher maw. Hopefully no more sidequests and thresher maws. Oh yeah I talked down Toombs from killing that Cerberus scientist. I forgotten how much they are in the first game. Oh this mod I found to be invaluable this playthrough. www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/426

Just finished LE1. I had forgotten how great the game is. There was a lot of planets to explore though most were devoid of life save for a few indigenous lifeforms. The soundtrack was amazing I forgot how good it was. As for the game Shepard decided to save the Council at the cost of many human lives. Saren is dead. Sovereign is dead. Now I don't know if I should start LE2 right away or wait to later on today?
