I'm replaying the trilogy and after an absolutely wonderful playthrough of ME1 I decided to take the plunge and read those bloody Darkhorse comics on my phone that tie into ME2, one about Liara and Ferron looking for Shepard and getting in trouble with the Shadow Broker and the current one about Illusive Man 20 years ago during the First Contact War and encountering the first signs of Reapers and Saren.
I'm on a page where it starts to babble about some "Temple of Palaven" and it's all really mystical mumbo jumbo shit. I never knew Illusive Man was such an Indiana Jones in his earlier life or that he had run-ins with Saren or that Saren ran around with Indoctrinated Turian monks. It almost feels like a Roland Emmerich plot, going in all sorts of genre-mixes, but it's kinda cool all the same.
Anyway, is this temple of Palaven ever referred to in the games?

On holiday on Dantooine. This whole "vengeance on the Jedi" thing gets very tiring after a while.

I don't think it's mentioned in the games at all.

Never read the comics, but that does sound familiar. In the turian codex, perhaps?
I seem to remember something about the turians abandoning religion once they discovered other species exist. The temple was then sealed up.
