I had a volus avatar which I had here also (but overwritten it some time ago; it was a yellow volus in a top hat done in illustrator), but I never even completed a platinum solo, I just made a joke about completing it with a Phoenix Adept when it was the only kit which didn't have a recorded solo. tbh I was trying to make a joke about the boards' obsession with the very mundane task of running around the map and exploiting choke points. I am not sure I posted much in this whole hall of fame thing.

Here I have only one goal, to fight for the post/like ratio which I have foolishly ignored up until recently.

Indeed.  Keen observation.

Though I can transition to my support side now pretty easily.  Pistols, no problem.  Carbines, no problem.  Shotguns, getting better (mainly recoil mitigation for the follow up shots). 

It became easier as I learn to shoot with both eyes open.  It took a bit, but is worth the payoff in the end.  It is really strange at first as your brain sees two images.  If you want a good tip on how to do that (if you don't already know how), let me know.  It is easier than you think.

Funny people can't shoot with both eyes open, I thought it was easy the first time they taught me to shoot at the Airforce, especially when shooting with handguns, then it's practically a given to me. It's the shooting with an eye closed that seems weird to me.

I also try to become ambidexterous with what I have on hand, but let me tell you. It's dirt simple when all you have on hand are replicas with zero recoil. I do intend to get something for defence when I finally get the cash (being a student... and me combined - bad for that. Which come to think is utterly horrifying, because I'm putting it off...) unless the EU smacks down even harder. Don't want anything long - after all, I'm not going professional, and carrying an AR-15 or Vz 58 for self defence is just... weird (not to mention concealed carry gets next to impossible). Glock would suffice perfectly, but then I could debate how carrying something with no real safety (and a round chambered) except on the trigger isn't something I'd like, and we go into a discussion strongly off-topic.

One thing I found out about both eyed shooting is (with iron sights) to put my eyes on either side of the gun (with a rifle, I end up one eye lower as well) and get perfectly sufficient with CQB. Of course, being somewhat serious about it, I do try to learn actual tactics. Airsoft or not, they often work, so there's no disadvantage beyond them being adapted to the fact you can't get shot from over a hundred meters away. Obvious bullshit in the real thing...

My experience with collimators is very limited (seconds worth?) but far as I know, it suffices to just keep one eye in the sight and bam, you're done.

And no, I do have actual firearm experience. Not with assault rifle calibers (5.56, 5.45, 7.62x39, that sort of thing) but I've shot a few different 9x19 weapons, including the modern Scorpion EVO3. Neat thing. I was high-left with it consistently, however. Shooter experience, I guess, as it was the first non-sidearm weapon I shot. Then some 12Ga, so I know how that kicks... but I also know few things feel as badass as cocking shotguns for a follow-up. The worst of recoil I ever experienced has to be a .357 Magnum. Follow-ups were impossible without adjusting my grip, because that gun wanted to yank itself out of my hands. All the funnier, because I don't think I failed with my hands placement and how firmly I held it. Really makes me wonder how could Dirty Harry just keep shooting with a .44 Magnum, other than movie reasons.


...eh. I have to take a photo I guess. Probably of that joke of a kit I have while at it. Don't think that carrier could hold a plate very well...
