Every mass effect has one.
ME1 had the abandoned mine with the huskified miners. ME2 had the dead reaper. ME3 had the ardat yakshi sanctuary.
Any guesses about Andromeda?
I am looking forward to it more than I expected. I find myself positively giddy about it...almost hoping for a dead space-y kinda interlude.

Maybe a graveyard world featuring the Remnant/creators of the Remnant. Something that points to slaughter and a lurking evil of some sort that's just on the edge of the pathfinder's awareness.

I want one where there's a serial killer in an abandoned facility and Ryder is disarmed and without allies and has to find a way out, Resident Evil style. Limit the lighting, reduce combat to melee and weapons only with limited heat sinks, and throw in some cheap scares.

I think the horror in Mass Effect Andromeda will be accomplished by focusing on the unknown. It's an unknown galaxy, full of unknown alien races, in totally unknown environments. The Andromeda Galaxy is rife with opportunity for horror scenarios.

As long as this is an optional mission where we can also nuke the site from orbit, just to be sure, I'm game.

I love horror games, so these types of levels are some of my favorites even if they don't necessarily scare me. I adore that type of atmosphere though. Also spooky derelict places - Ilos still remains one of my favorite Mass Effect environments. With all that exploration we'll be doing, I hope we come across some creepy stuff the locals know better than to go near.

I feel like it may be the first mission where you and liam land on the world the humans were sent to. With your ship wrecked and you alone... you're looking for survivors and being weary of the new alien world.
But I really wish there were more missions like the ardat yakshi one. Dead space is one of my favorite series, so yes, bring on the horror! XD

I'm in the middle of watching Penny Dreadful (middle of season 3) and I think it's pretty fucking intense. I also watch TWD (except for season opener for season 7). As long as it's about something I can relate to, even though I may not agree with it, I can watch it.
I can't see how you like anything more scary than that. The only time that I got really afraid was in the Ardat Yakshi monastery. And that because I couldn't really see. And in the start of Mars. Liara about scared the shit out of me when she started telling me how those people died.

Not me, I'm not a horror genre fan. So "that one mission" in each game is PLENTY for my tastes.

I'd love something that's evocative of Alien/Aliens, where we go to a planet thinking it's going to be full of good material and supplies for our group/the Nexus, but we find an alien life form that is exceedingly deadly. Maybe have a full on Alien Queen that we have to fight off in the end as a Super Boss.

ME2's horror was Overlod dlc, the dead reaper was amazing
i thin that Andromeda won't ahve any horror level, maybe dark and lugubrious, but no horror

I love these levels, just enough "scary" and great atmosphere. Wouldn't mind more than one level/planet to be honest, as others have said it very much fits in with the theme of what we're doing in the game. It's also a perfect opportunity for some good and possibly funny companion comments. How they're creeped out or whatever.

The most notable horror-themed level in ME1 that I can recall would be the freighter with husks. It even went as far as having them spawn only when you came to a certain point so nothing shows on the radar until the last second. My first go it kinda startled me a bit. In ME2, I felt the real horror themed mission was the side mission where there's an artifact that turned everyone into husks, but ME2's husk hoard is so annoying. I do hope that there's a good side mission with lots of solid creepy atmosphere.

For me, ME2's horror mission was the collector ship.
It was perfectly done in my opinion; properly eerie with a genuinely unsettling atmosphere and ambiance. It built up the tension nicely, not rushing you and there were no cheap jump scares.

I would absolutely love a few horror themed missions.
ME 2 did those really well. Project Overlord, Dead Reaper and that one planet where you are beign overrun by husks.

Hopefully some encounter of a rare alien species animal that isn't sapient aboard a derelict vessel.
Speaking of horror, I thought the Thorian part in ME1 was not scary but still effectively unsettling. The derelict Reaper in ME2 also had a good horror atmosphere because husks are pretty scary and I think ME3 has the Samara mission or Sanctuary but not quite as scary. But I thought going through the ruins on Tuchanka was really weird because the flashlight sequence felt like it was building up to a jumpscare or something but then it was just a minor cave excavation.

I'm not sure what level specifically I would like to see, but the OP's mention of Dead Space-esque levels of horror and unsettling nature of an enemy without any boundaries is something I would like to see more of.
For all their talk of impending galactic genocide, the Reapers' methods were rather tame when it came to picking their targets it seems. No mention of targeting children or the elderly, no utilizing those age groups as means of demoralization, etc. Dead Space on the other hand has you literally crushing Necromorph-ed infants and toddlers under your feet; bringing the realization that no one is safe, nothing is sacred to the forefront.
I'm not one to endorse copious amounts of gore and body horror just for the sake of it, but if you're going to try and showcase a horrific element don't candy coat it when it comes to non-combatants.
