As long as this is an optional mission where we can also nuke the site from orbit, just to be sure, I'm game. lol that aliens (1986) reference my fav movie now all we need is a pulse rifle and its game time. YES. "Let's rock!"

Every mass effect has one. ME1 had the abandoned mine with the huskified miners. ME2 had the dead reaper. ME3 had the ardat yakshi sanctuary. Any guesses about Andromeda? I am looking forward to it more than I expected. I find myself positively giddy about it...almost hoping for a dead space-y kinda interlude. ME3 ardat yakshi santuary reminded me of Aliens (1986). lost contact of a colony planet, send in a military team to investigate and then blow up the area after finding out what happened almost too nostalgic if u ask me? I'd say the mission with the rachni in ME3 was closer -- a big part of it was burning eggs with a flamethrower.

I both and love and hate these, although for me the scariest part of ME2 was playing as Joker.. I dread that so please don't make us hobble through our ship on a character that is crippled with anything scary chasing us EVER again! Please?
I loved the Derelict Reaper and Ardat Yakshi missions though, atmospheric is good, That up there ^^ bad.

I don't what it will be.. but I hope it's not just limited to one level Space is beautiful, wondrous but also very scary, dark and horrid. I want to feel that. I want to feel the apprehension that I have with several other horror games, being torn about wanting to play ahead but also be terrified (I'm thinking of my first playthrough of Outlast as I'm writing this). Sure BW won't do it all the way, but I love some tension (AND that your character and your squad are terrified too!)

Horror mission in Mass Effect: Andromeda? For good ideas(for example, if they release a big DLC with "horror theme") should look no further, than Dead Space. I still remember the moment in Dead Space 3, when you finally found the derelict remains of old fleet just flying in bits and pieces in space, of course you had to investigate what happened. You finally board the remains of "main capital ship" of the fleet and... once you got inside... well... Look around 38:30 to get the scenes. Imagine like in the above video, for instance you get to investigate what happened to one of the "scout fleet" that went out to research certain planet without actually knowing what happened... and you stumble across nothing but ruined bits and pieces of the fleet.

I'd love something that's evocative of Alien/Aliens, where we go to a planet thinking it's going to be full of good material and supplies for our group/the Nexus, but we find an alien life form that is exceedingly deadly. Maybe have a full on Alien Queen that we have to fight off in the end as a Super Boss. Personally, I felt that the latter half of Noveria, at Peak 15, was evocative of both films, especially Aliens. Also that mining station level from Leviathan was very horror feeling. hope we get missions like these in andromeda

I want one where there's a serial killer in an abandoned facility and Ryder is disarmed and without allies and has to find a way out, Resident Evil style. Limit the lighting, reduce combat to melee and weapons only with limited heat sinks, and throw in some cheap scares. This would be pretty great. Doesn't even have to be a serial killer, you could have a xenomorph like creature. I would love a Mass Effect horror spin off. I would absolutely love a few horror themed missions. ME 2 did those really well. Project Overlord, Dead Reaper and that one planet where you are beign overrun by husks. It still amazes me just how many things you get to do and experience in Mass Effect 2. Fantastic game. I don't mean to shamelessly take a quick pop at Andromeda but it worried me when Bioware posted a list of 'things to do in Andromeda' because breaking things down to lists implies quests could be less handcrafted.

ME2's horror was Overlod dlc, the dead reaper was amazing i thin that Andromeda won't ahve any horror level, maybe dark and lugubrious, but no horror Holy crap, that word. Learned something new, thank you! haha I really hope not though. Horror missions are always fun... even when you kind of know what's gonna happen, they still get you going. lol

Actually ME2 also had project overlord and that screeching sound that would happen every once in a while made me flinch and got my heart racing. ME2 had quite a bit of those scenes. The collector ship was spooky and done well. The dereclect reaper was creepy if you went through the logs. ME3 also had a few other intense missions. I hope we get something similar in MEA

Going into the Eezo refinery in the Omega DLC for ME3 was pretty creepy. Was a little disappointed it wasn't played on more. There's a bad monster here, we know it's here, it's really dark and we're alone. But I'm a huge sucker for horror and I know a lot of people wouldn't be into that kinda thing.
I think for me I'd want something to do with space. In ME3 I really liked the sudden silence and like loss of reality almost you felt when space walking to the Geth ship with Tali. I mean it's big, empty and silent and it's god damn terrifying. Can't imagine anything worse. Throwback to Shep dying the worst death imaginable and strand me somewhere with no atmosphere, low oxygen and a lot of time. That'd freak me the hell out.

The Adjundants originally were 1000 times cooler...they were able to talk to you telepathically and warp around AND at times you would aim biotics or a sniper weapon at them and they would suddenly turn and rise a hand and say in a quiet low baritone "no" and yank your aim away. They were scrapped in that iteration tho. So sad.

Oh yeah! I'd like something like the movie 'The Thing'. You're stuck in a facility by the weather, people are disappearing, strange things happen... You know, despite being a horror movie The Thing was actually a very strong character film. The characters' in that story were certainly alot more fleshed out than the random teenagers Freddy and Jason slaughter by the truck load in their films. Imagine, if Ryder actually encountered alien like "The Thing" and after returning from the entire mission where it was involved, you can't be 100% sure that you didn't bring it back with you to one of the Arks or even Nexus...

And the building, the pacing is great as well. This movie is sadly quite underrated, by the general public at least. I should re-watch it, it been a been a while now.

LOL. Seriously, if this Thing got into Nexus... the situation would go FUBAR quickly. Come to think of it... I wonder, if "The Thing" would have been able to assimilate both levo and dexo based organisms or just one of them (most likely levo, as in the movies). Paranoida among the entire crew that could ensue, would have been insane

So dunno if any scanner would be able to pick up any discrepancies in the subject or not... In general, in scope of what was discussed here before in above posts, I think introduction of a very hostile/intimidating alien like Xenomorph / The Thing ect. would have been great idea and material for a "big DLC". How knows... maybe we will get it?

That first room in the PS4 Pro demo with the resilient "plant" and those floating creatures that looked a lot like mini Mi-go had a Fungi from Yuggoth vibe. Mysterious and possibly vile.
Hopefully, there is some suspense horror in ME:A. The ME1 mission where the biotic woman who went insane and killed the crew of the ship she was on to protect her dead husband is a great example. I hope there is a small side mission in ME:A that deals with something entirely human based but creepy. Like an unexpected psychotic break from being in stasis so long. Something that is anomalous and doesn't affect the story or the rest of the expedition but enriches the players perception of the game world.

What with their chief of security off being a warlord, and seemingly none of their ships having weaponry and all. Oh and all the characters' propensity for getting into each other's pants. No need to go all chest mouth or spider head when everyone is swapping bodily fluids willingly. Just hang out around Ryder's orgy room I mean cabin and you will have assimilated the entire crew in a matter of hours.
