So...it sounds a bit like Fallout 4 crafting style or am I reading too much into it?

Okay first off, bonus points for Grabthar's Hammer. I love Galaxy Quest too Second of all, does this mean that a pure melee build is an actually viable build for SP now; as in you don't have to equip any ranged weapons whatsoever? Also, does this mean that individual melee weapons will have weight restrictions associated with them? I can't really see a human or salarian swinging a Krogan hammer around all willy nilly to be honest. And lastly, with melee weapons being an actual equip-able weapon type now, does that mean that we will be looking at an even larger pool of items to grind for in the MP?

*braces for all the "space ninja" builds* Well that was inevitable as soon as Kia Lame reared his stupid visor-ed face in ME 3. I am just interested in melee becoming more viable in terms of gameplay now because that means BioWare has one less reason to NOT take the plunge and give us melee specific aliens to play as in MP now. The Rachni Brood Warrior kit now has one less obstacle in the way of it's implementation.

Twitter seems like the worst possible dev communication medium. It baffles me why they use it so much.

Does that really pass for an article? It has a few tweets with a paragraph or two of commentary on them. No new information if you've been following the twitter thread.

Agreed while it is nwe to ME as it's not been in ME bfeoer it's not nwe to Bioware's games. Usually I just stick with the default names though in DAI

This is a completely unnecessary addition, imho. But whatever, if it's like DA:I, it won't be used much.

I don't know why anyone's expecting anything different from Inquisition, except for the fact that we won't have runes to give permanent elemental damage to each weapon.

except for the fact that we won't have runes to give permanent elemental damage to each weapon. Has that been stated anywhere? Superb Fire Rune Modification - Adds 25 fire damage to each weapon strike bullet. I can see it possibly happening, depending how much copy/paste there was from DA:I.

I feel like I am the odd man out, here. I went crazy making armors and helmets in DAI. There's nothing like laying siege to Adamant Fortress while your Inquisitor walks through the smoke, clad in golden armor!

Because ammo mods can be handled on the fly in the middle of combat, shown by the Game Awards teaser. No reason to make it permanent via crafting.

And lastly, with melee weapons being an actual equip-able weapon type now, does that mean that we will be looking at an even larger pool of items to grind for in the MP? I think what he was saying is that there is a dedicated "melee" slot, and that the default and what Ryder gets initially is the omni-blade. You can upgrade the omni-blade or you can exchange it with a sword or other omni-thing or Grabthar's Hammer when you find/buy/craft it. It's not really a weapon-slot. I think the MP (just speculation here) will have pre-set melee weapons for each class/species like in ME3MP. The N7 Shadow with the sword, Paladin with the Shield, Talon Mercenary with the Omni-bow, etc. I wouldn't think you would have to grind for those in the RNG store. As for a total melee build, maybe with biotics. I don't see it working out with any other class really, unless you are an engineer and basically rely on melee and drones/turrets. Yes I know you can switch class on the fly, but you know what I mean. I just don't think the melee weapon will have enough damage output to be able to solely wield that and no other weapons.

If only the Inquisition's soldiers didn't wear those aweful armors. God they were ugly. It would've been nice to have the choice to change them up a little. Kind of like, how you can change your banners and such, at Skyhold. Imagine having more Dwarven styled Inquisition troops? Or Qunari? I mean come on. Shouldn't my soldiers reflect their leader? I feel like I am the odd man out, here. I went crazy making armors and helmets in DAI. There's nothing like laying siege to Adamant Fortress while your Inquisitor walks through the smoke, clad in golden armor! I gave my Inquisitor Silver Armor and Cassandra got Golden Templar in my last PT. NICE! I gave Cassandra the same armor!
