According to the developers she's still alive. Looks like she can be defeated after all! Philippa is doomed!

So, ai imported my Iorveths Path save. Which means upper aedirn is run by Saskia, free of mind control. And the rest of Aedirn is controlled by Stennis. And Hensault has his Keadwini. So how is it that "Aedirn is no more" and "Radovid promises to restore the borders once he's won the war"? Don't expect too much continuity here. CDPR just doesn't do a good job of it between games. I honestly don't think it was even remotely a priority for them.

Don't expect too much continuity here. CDPR just doesn't do a good job of it between games. So Dragon Age beat them there. Pretty much. Really, Bioware's method on DA sequels was kind of what CDPR was already doing. Except they advertised them as direct sequels, which...they really aren't. I'm actually all for 'games set in a universe' instead of direct sequels. TW3 was a major kick in the nuts in this regard.

I'm still mad that Ivoreth didn't appear in TW3. I kinda didn't like the fact that the Scoatel was in the background.

Played three quests today.
Arsonist: this time I let the idiot buy me off.no hanging bumpkins today. But I do hate being bought off. Setup was: receive mission with multiple dialogue lines. Investigate with Witcher Senses. Dialogue with two Branching choices. Dialogue when I turned the mission in.
Missing Soldiers Brother: Setup was: receive mission with multiple dialogue lines. Travel. Talk again. Investigate with Witcher Senses with Dialogue from quest giver. Intermittent fighting. Find brother. Dialogue with two Branching choices. Went my merry way.
Ghost at the well: this mission had sad reading. Setup was: receive mission with multiple dialogue lines. Travel. Investigate with Witcher Senses. Go for a swim. Prepare for a battle (sadly,I lacked ingredients for all useful options so I went unprepared). The wraith double spawned, so I got twice the loot but nearly died. I ended the battle with a quarter of my health and DRUNK. Return to quest giver. I give him the altruism discount as a result of two Dialogue choices. Which they didn't have to add in by any means. Introduced to the Herbalist too.
So far, Witcher still going great.
Was awkward to tell the guy in the bar that the mission to find Yennifer was not love. Trying to settle on a story why Geralt would stick with Triss after his memory returned

Everything screams Yenn.
Olnorton quoted book passages. The genie wish after Geralt almost killed himself
His traveling a year to catch the wild hunt
His giving himself up in her stead
Triss's reaction when he says he's regained his memory was nothing but "oh shit. I've finally been caught."
His dream at start of TW3 where he auto says all the other women didn't matter
A song devoted to their love
Ciri saying she's glad they're back together

Despite them dropping the ball with her character arc, Triss is still a pretty easy pick for me. Her nicer personality aside, she comes around and realizes where she fucked up in the past. Yen on the other hand is always going to be Yen.

What I originally held against Yen is that I thought she had her memory the whole time and she just found other things to do than track down Geralt.
But then I find out Yenn had a good long stent of memory loss as well and then was literally captured and mind probed by Nilfgaard for a while. And since the Wild Hunt still chased her, using Nilfgaard as a form of half prison half protection seems very reasonable.
So now it's Cold Outer Shell, melty inside Yennifer
Vs
Thought I'd take advantage of your memory loss but otherwise nice person Triss. And she wasn't nice to the kid in W1 either.

I think you're a bit harsh on Triss for getting together with Geralt, tbh. Certainly selfish, and... opportunistic? But it wasn't like it was out of malice or anything, she made a bad decision born out of love. And she genuinely does love Geralt, and genuinely does care about Yen as well, but their friendship is now a mess because they're both in love with Geralt.
Between the two, I'd go for Triss in a heartbeat. They're both insanely attractive in terms of pure physical appearance, but Yennefer is actually way more up my alley in that regard (pale brunette, mmmm). The deciding factor for me is that while I definitely think both Yen and Triss are 100% true about their feelings for Geralt, Yen's cold demeanor crosses the line over to where I feel she often outright treats Geralt poorly, and not just some snarky banter. It often feels like she doesn't trust him and doesn't treat him as an equal, even if she does love him.
Ideally Shani would be a full romance option alongside Triss & Yen with some kind of major role in the main game, she's a total sweetheart, refreshingly normal and drama-free.

So I'm the only one who prefers Yennefer to Triss? At least in TW3, where I feel Triss becomes aggressively bland. Though of course, I'd take Shani over either of them, which in practice means Lone Wolf Geralt 4ever!

I just thought I'd give Triss a shot this game to see different content and a chance to win my heart.
