I heard that the one for DAI was pretty bad. yeah there aer a couple of mistakes but it told me enough of what I needed to know though which was all I needed from it anyway. I donj't need all the info just a bit of an occasional guiding hand sometimes. Which in fairness to the guide it gave me.

I don't really anticipate needing it. I like to work out as much as possible on my own the first playthrough anyways (even it if means backtracking to an earlier save - if they'll even still allow that)... and by the time I get around to the second one, there should be tons of info and help available here and elsewhere on the web.

I bought the DAI one after seeing the astrariums in a preview video and knowing instantly I couldn't be bothered. I loathe puzzles. The guide was kinda terrible, I don't see buying another. Also, I've always found Mass effect games simple to the point I'm perplexed anyone can lose someone to the suicide mission unintentionally. I actually know someone who did I bring it up to him every now and again when he brags how good he is at gaming and it shuts him up

I preordered the collector's edition guide. I always did that for DA because of the bonus content, not really so much for the guide. Figured I'd do the same for Andromeda. Same for me, and I won't use the guide part for my first playthrough. Same, I may barely touch it at all save for any development sections and any extra art/lore that they include. I buy the collector's guides because I'm a DA/ME lore geek. I buy all the tie-in novels and comics for the same reason: I love the setting, and any extra information I can get on it, I'll take. I know it'll probably end up on the wiki down the line, but the source materials are more in-depth. Plus I love looking at early concept art and development notes; I bought the ME and DAI artbooks for even more of that. I didn't touch the DAI guide until my second or third playthrough, and that was just to get help on collectibles I felt like actually bothering with for one run, like the shards. I actually found the astrarium guides helpful for the ones I got stuck on (I prefer getting those on my own but several were a bit over my head) and online resources weren't available yet. It usually takes a few weeks for more extensive guides to crop up, so having the book was handy then. Normally I don't even use the guide part at all and only open the book for the lore. Only exception is situations like the collectibles where online didn't have the guides yet that early. I don't think I've touched my collector's guide sections in years since I can just Google the same answers now.

I'll buy the CE one. Not because of the content, but because it looks great. I have the CE version of DAI's, and I just read the interviews before I completed the game.

I plan on getting the Collector's Edition but not until I finish the game the first time. Otherwise I know I will read ahead and spoil myself. Also, the internet isn't available 100% of the time, but a book sitting on my desk is. yeah that's why I tend to only ge tthe book if I need it for example it's got puzzles like the Astraruims or the Temple of Mythal area or I struggle with getting to grips with the mechanics of the game. The trilogy was easy to get to grips with so didn' tneed the books for it as the missions were never that hard to figure out what I needed to do so I don't anticipate needing one for Andromeda but if I run into problems due to an Astrarium like puzzle that I can't solve then I'll get it.

Given that it's by Prima, even if there wasn't an internet to look things up on, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Their guides are consistently awful and have been for the best part of two decades now.

I think strategy guides spoil the fun of finding things out for yourself, Unless the puzzle is so obscure that you've grown a beard while trying to figure it out.(Broken Sword)

Hopefully I won't need the guide though as the puzzles in ME generally are simpler than DA's

If I get strategy guide it'll only be to have on my bookshelf. I can't remember the last time I actually used a strategy guide to play a game.

OK, I might as well weight in.
I get the strategy guides because I like having them incase I need them. Also, I just like having them as like a memoir or something to collect. I don't collect many things, but for some reason I like collecting strategy guides.

I'm ok with not getting all the trophies/having a 100% playthrough first time though. How people spend their money is entirely up to them though.
