That's tempting. How much is Access? $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Ugh no - I don't buy enough Origin games to justify that. Ah well, my 10 hours in MP will just have to wait.

I pre-ordered the game for PC, any chance our progress on EA Access can be carried over? If not, I'll spend 10 hours on creating the best god damn looking space explorer in the world (hoping the code system is back..), saving enough time for a match or 2 in MP Actually, anyone want to swap a month trail of EA access for a month trial on Origin access by chance? lol. Yes, all of your progress in 10 hour trial will carry over to full game. This 10 hour trial is not limited pre-release deal, but also for post-launch. It's a method to promote both Origin Access and ME:A. Although, have to say, it is dangerously close of being a Paid Demo. Think you might be misunderstanding me, I mean I'll be playing on EA Access (not Origin) since I have a free month trial for that, so was wondering if the Xbox version's progress is transferable to PC, I'm thinking not (hoping I'm wrong though). Meh, I might just buy Origin Access and save the EA access free month voucher for another time lol.

Ok, probably no one around knows the answer, but I'm goign to ask anyway. Poland&Russia are screwed (once again), we've got the region-locked non-English game. At this point I'm considering buying a month of EA-sub for the test-drive, however I can't stand the though of playing the forced localization. At some point people are going to find the way (as we normally do), but I don't think it's going to happen during the early access\ asap on release.
My question is, do they region-lock the demos too? Or (may be) had someone ever tried to use origin access with VPN?
My idea is to get my month os sub, 'vpn-travel' elswhere in the world (US, Mexico etc) and get the demo in English. 10 hours should be enough to realize whether I want to buy the full game or not.

Asking again, how did 10-hour access work in other games? 10 hours of total real-life playtime and not a second more even if you spend it in Menu screen or approximately 10 hour mark within the game and I could technically spend 5 months getting to that mark?

From what I can glean from the Battlefield 1 forums, the last game with a preview through EA Access, it's 10 hours real-time. Playing the game, character creator, main menu screen, it all counts towards your time. Of course, YMMV and someone please let me know if you can verify otherwise.

From how it's been with DAI - it's 10 hours of 'anything' you do when the game is on AND there might be some gating of the plot progression (e.g. for DAI it was Hinterlands).

So do people here know if I wait till 7 days before MEA comes out and get the 7 day free trial can I play MEA? Do you need to have MEA preordered to play it? Or is the 10 hours free with access?

It doesn't seem to say that you have to preorder. I think they would want as many people as possible to try both Andromeda and EA Access, so it makes sense not to restrict the free hours to those who preordered. That said, I would be shocked if the EA Access free trial is still going within 7 days of March 16. If somehow it is, I'll definitely grab it so I can have a crack at the MEA character creator and intro.

I could not fibd a damn thing about the dates on the site, but a friend of mine says that their offer expires on March 7(with March 14 being the furthest one can last without paying a month of sub). Can't be sure about how accurate this info is, but I'd assume that having a totally free MEA demo had never been on EAs plans.

Nope not even gonna think about getting trial. I'll just end up playing all 10 hours in 1 day and be frustrated to no end waiting for the release. I'll wait for 21st.

EU player here. I plan to get it digitally and the 2 day delay with this form is just dumb... The trial unlocks on the 17th for everyone, but if I use up all 10 hours (heh, probably on the 1st day ) and the game closes after that then will it lock it for me till the 21st or 23rd?

I suppose it depends on your time zone, but technically early access is March 16 (at least in the US). Considering you are in Europe, your game will unlock on March 23. I imagine most players are going to burn through their first 10 hours just binging if they can. I certainly will just take the game at a leisurely pace and soak it in. Then I'll just have to wait five painful days until March 21.

It also doesn't make any sense that PC gamers in Europe would get the game two days early over everybody else in Europe. Perhaps the actual early access for Europeans won't happen until March 18 in order to coincide with the release date. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a week before you likely can continue playing the game.

www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-01-23-10-hour-trial-of-mass-effect-andromeda-out-five-days-before-launchEA plans to release a 10-hour trial of Mass Effect: Andromeda for Access subscribers. The hefty trial of BioWare's sci-fi action RPG comes out on 16th March - five days before the full game comes out on 21st March in the US (it's 23rd in the UK). It'll surely let you make a decent dent in the game before it launches proper. Access is EA's subscription. You get early access trials such as this one as well as a number of games to download from the Vault (EA recently added Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 to the Vault). Origin Access is available on PC via Origin, and EA Access is available on Xbox One only. Like with other Access trials, your Andromeda progress automatically carries over to the full game if you buy, so you can pick up right where you left off. Neato, they're letting me play this cancer without paying for it legally. Can't wait.

You are only eligible for the EA Access trial if you are a subscriber to EA Access. Whether you pre-ordered the game or not is irrelevant.

So, let me get this straight: They let you guys play on the 16th for 10 hours and then you'll have to wait for the 21st like everyone else to continue? MAN! They are ripping you off SO hard! That's evil...

That's evil... If you buy Origin Access, you can spread out that 10 hours however you want. You could play 2 hours a day if you wanted until the 21st. Or you could sit on your ass all day on the 16th and play. However if you do the free trial, I think you only get like 1 day or 2 to play the game and then it expires. My plan: Thursday: Work, come home at around 8:30pm central time, download trial, go to bed. Friday: Off work, play for about 2 hours. I'm gonna have a busy day anyways so I won't have as much time to play. Saturday: Work, come home, play an hour, go to bed. Sunday: Work, come home, play an hour, go to bed. Monday: Off work, finish the trial and hopefully be able to play the full game at 11pm central time. Of course I'll probably just end up burning it all within the 1st couple days anyways. I can't help myself sometimes
