No, it's not a scam  Just saw it's been confirmed players will have up to 10 free hours with Origin Access, starting March 16th. (also available for XBOX One) I don't want to debate the value of Origin Access, but if you haven't pre-ordered yet, you can take advantage of this. Origin Access gives 10% rebates on all your purchase, which means that for 4.99$ USD, you can have at minimum 7.99$ USD rebate. Thus, by subscribing in March before pre-ordering, you get "paid" 3$ USD to play MEA up to 10 hours starting March 16th. Don't forget to unsubscribe when the game launches if you don't want to be charged the following month... |

There's two ways of canceling EA Access:
Option 1. Cancel automatic renewal of EA Access at the end of the month.
Option 2. Or cancel EA Access entirely, as in you loose access to the service but get a refund for the remaining days you had of EA Access.
So I'm going to wait for early access, subscribe to EA Access, pre-order Andromeda with my discount, play the 10 hours and cancel EA Access for a full refund (depending on how fast I burn my 10 hours).

You end with with only about 5% discount depending on which version of the game you buy. Not in every country actually. In Russia, for example, u will get charged even more (for about 1$) - base version of MEA is 2000rub and origin access is 250rub. |

Nice, I guess (I don't really have any concept of how much that is relative to the cost of living in Russia). The one good thing about Origin is the localized currency. When I buy games on Steam it's always US$ which adds about a third of the price to it, depending. I don't know if it's like that in every country but if I had to pay massive amounts of money relative to my cost of living for games I would be a pro cracker.

I think u can play this 10 hours trial even without preorder. If u like it - buy the game and progress will takeover. Yea you more than likely can, but you gotta pay $5 just to be able to access it (I know it isn't just for the demo itself but I still don't like the idea of a trial/demo being behind a paywall). Like i said though I'm not one whose going to pay just to try it out. I fully intend to buy the game in March as it looks good so far unless any very questionable news comes up in February that makes me consider waiting. |
