I'd love to see a Friend-to-BFF-to-Lover romance. Instead of the love-at-first-sight sorta thing that seems to happen? Or, at least, the option for that route.
Garrus is sorta like that, I guess, except it was more Friends-With-Benefits in ME2 that became more romantic in ME3. Cullen in DAI had that sorta awkwardness I'm looking for, though the friends bit wasn't really there.
Perhaps this sort of romance arc would only work in a multiple-game series, where the actual romance path wasn't available in the first game and only availablle if the loyalty misson (whatever it's called) is completed.

Not looking at the options at all but saying what I'd like to have or see. I'd like a confident, manly (perhaps macho like), though respectful guy. A bit like kaidan but more tough rough or what you call it lol. So yeah... basically that 😛

You know what would be nice? Ending up in a romance that I did not initiate myself. I'd like my love interest to approach me with more than friendship intentions and let me decide if I feel the same. I got a bit tired of my Shep looking ready to jump every guy in ME2.

As our friendship grows through the story, I'd like him to approach my Ryder and tell her he has stronger feelings. Kind of like when Kaidan does that during dinner with Shep in ME3 if you aren't already with anyone. I liked that because I did not give him any reasons to think I wanted him in ME1 and then he just confesses he's had these feelings for a long time. I thought that was a very real moment. Only thing ruins it is if you are with Thane and he just died, it looks like Kaidan's trying to get a rebound

Yeah I made things official with Garrus first before meeting up with Kaidan, then we had a good chat as friends. In my single Shep playthrough it was a nice surprise. Waking up with Javik... a bit more startlingly though lol

At least the way she said it. I'm all for sultry voices butI'd prefer if they were kept for flirt options and not "so....weathers nice *wink wink nudge nudge*"

I think it could be really cool if done right. No weird jealousy rants or snide comments, just up-front "hey, I think I like you, do you like me?", kind of thing.

I think it would work if they actually imply they like you but you did nothing to provoke except being attractive to them. Then you can let them down easy or give it a go. I think ninjamances are when they claim you love them but you didn't say anything. Shyly asking or being bold and flirting at least gives you the chance to end or make it happen.

I think ninjamances are when they claim you love them but you didn't say anything. Shyly asking or being bold and flirting at least gives you the chance to end or make it happen. This exactly. It would be nice if a character approached me for a change, provided their intentions were clear and I had the option to turn them down politely. Liara in ME1 does that, which is nice. What isn't nice is when a romanced (on purpose or no!) Kaidan is all like, "so... you and Laira, huh?" when I'd only had what I assumed were friendly conversations with her. Speaking of, the way every non-asshole response to Kaidan during dialogue advanced a romance with him was pretty frustrating when you're trying not to. I even tried choosing neutral responses instead, and in one case, picked the renegade one and he went, all impressed, 'how do you do that?' I was like "WHY!?" I let him die on Virmire that playthrough. And then in ME2 I'm grossly pestering Jacob to the point where he's going 'yeah, thanks but no thanks' and I'm not even interested, and asking Garrus 'let's bang, okay?' out of nowhere. I head-canon that Shepard's just trolling Jacob, and super awkward and bad at words when she actually is interested in someone... I think Leliana was the worst in the ninjamance department though. There we were in camp, talking about shoes or whatever, and she's like "I love you I'm so happy! We'll talk more later okay!?" Confused, I walk back toward Alistair who's all jealous and "what's up with you and Leliana?" I was like, 'What is even happening right now...?' as I went back to go 'break up' with her...

I think it would be fun if, for example. We got a romance that we didn't know was a romance. Like e.g. We spend much time with Vetra thinking she's your best space buddy then she a some point just randomly drops a line like "*laughs* That's why I love you Sara" and we are like "what!?!" And the choices for Ryder in that moment reflect it. But hey, that's just my imagination xD While I think that might be interesting, it does seem a bit close to the dreaded "ninjamance". Not saying they couldn't do it right, though. However, it's worth noting that in my experience, most of the time when someone says "That's why I love you" they're actually being platonic or saying it in a bit of a joking way. Sometimes the other person even says "I love you too" and yet it's still platonic. Vetra might have to be a bit more obvious in that case. Wait when? I do not remember this at all. I would say Vetra seems a good bet for a more serious romance if she is indeed a LI. Mostly I enjoy fun romances with silly banters, like Isabela, Liara, Zevran or Dorian, also Bull had some nice moments too. Now that I think about it, this must be why I enjoyed Yen romance so much, the unicorn thing and all the puns, made it for me. I tried to look it up... in one of the earliest conversations, the Inquisitor can tell Cassandra "(chuckles) You're delightful, you know that?" However, not all VAs apparently do the chuckle. The male deeper voice does, and giggles. I didn't get the giggle with Sumalee (not that it makes much difference since you can't romance Cass as a woman), but in your case I'd suggest simply avoiding that flirt and saying something else nice instead. You can initiate romances without taking every heart icon, I think. You know what would be nice? Ending up in a romance that I did not initiate myself. I'd like my love interest to approach me with more than friendship intentions and let me decide if I feel the same. I got a bit tired of my Shep looking ready to jump every guy in ME2. I second that. It would be nice to be approached by a potential romance instead of always having to do it yourself... as long as it isn't done in a creepy way. This would also be great for playing a more awkward character. Speaking of which, that's what I'd like to see. I'd like something like Cullen or Alistair's romance (but with a woman), where it starts out very awkwardly and slowly gets less awkward as they get more comfortable with each other. I just find it amusing and adorkable. I'm a hopeless romantic so I'd love a nice, mostly angst-free romance that many might call boring I'd also like a romance that focuses on romance rather than sex. I don't mind a sex scene, but I'm not a fan of nudity and some input as to when your character is ready to do that would be nice too, instead of having that be determined for you. This might also be a good time to mention that I hope they do better with the non-squadmate romances this time, because if I do end up liking someone she's almost certainly going to be a non-squadmate NPC. While I adored Cullen's romance, the most annoying things about it were that almost no one commented on it at all (you couldn't actually have a conversation about it with anyone until Vivienne in Trespasser), and that he lacked the additional content companions had in the form of mission-banter and comments. So in ME:A, I'd love for all romances to actually be acknowledged by other characters, because to be honest it's almost like the Cullen romance is just happening inside my Inquisitor's head, even the wedding since no one was there And I'd like them to have as much content as the squadmates. The radio would be a great tool to make use of given the scifi setting - have your non-squaddy communicate and banter with Ryder and co. from the ship. TL;DR: They haven't done a female/female romance like Alistair or Cullen (knight in shining armour) and I'd love to see one.

Not overly fussed on what type of relationship (though i'd guess i'd prefer a flirtatious one considering that's how I am anyway), but I am fussed that all of them feel a whole lot more natural than they did in the trilogy.

I picked 2 and 4, although all of them sound good. A blend of the two would be perfect, but I'm not holding my breath. I definitely am interested in a more alien romance with culture clashes and stuff, but it seems like that should be kind of an automatic thing if you decide to romance an alien? Like, in addition to whatever arc the romance takes. A serious, slowburn romance or a flirtatious, sparks fly, passionate romance could be even more fun if the fact that you're dating a race with completely different biology and culture is incorporated into the mix. And tbh, any romance where the LI approaches my character first will have an automatic leg up on all the others; I'm so tired of feeling like a stalker, lol.
Since we're talking about specifics outside the poll...I'd like a male li for women that's more confident than adorkable, more assertive than awkward, who actually hits on you first (respectfully, of course, I don't want a macho jerk.) One of the reasons I liked Iron Bull was how confident he was in his own appeal without being overly vain about it, just comfortable in his skin. He wasn't a perfect li and flirting with him at first was downright painful, lol, but that kind of attitude is something I'd really like to see again, just with more traditional, passionate romance and maybe a couple less sex jokes.
For a f/f li? Female knight in shining armor with a Cullen type romance, all the way. I'm still bummed about Cassandra and Aveline, Bioware. Throw me a bone here.
