I gave Fear The Walking Dead a try but gave up a few episodes into the second season. Laugh at me but I actually like fear the walking dead better than TWD. Its more....grounded than TWD and I find the characters more realistic. Also I love Travis. Negan is badass with his silly baseball bat? Haha no, this guy fights two people and beats them to death with his bare hands, no baseball bat needed. He reminds me of those calm docile herbivore dinosaurs that when provoked suddenly and completely unexpectedly crank up to level 11 on the madness scale and stomp everything in sight to death. :D8: Seriously though, I like the main actor much better than Rick Grimes.

Ah I totally forgot about Strand, he is well written and I like how he keeps his style and sarcasm despite the horrible circumstances, without going overboard with it. Overall, I like most of the cast as opposed to The Walking Dead where there is no likable character left. I liked Shane, Merle and Hershel but they all left so early... Also, I think FTWD progresses more naturally compared TWD where most of the drama feels so artificial and competently avoidable. It makes me facepalm all the time, the show has become like one of those teenager horror movies.

Fear the Walking Dead has potential. I like Travis. And Strand. Nick and Alicia have potential. But Madison...I keep waiting for her to get eaten. Fear the Walking Dead already wasted it's premise in the first season. We wanted to see the beginning of the outbreak! Who was the genius who decided that we needed a 9 day long time-skip after the military showed up, skipping over the interesting parts where they fortified the neighbourhood and dealt with the outbreak picking up steam, to instead take us to the point where "Everybody's dead, Dave". And who decided that Madison should be the lead character? From the first episode, I've utterly loathed her character. She's everything that was terrible about Andrea and Lori in the original show, only that we're forced to suffer that type of character being the leader this time around. Why couldn't they have made her the decoy protagonist of the first episode or two, only for her to be quickly killed off and eaten? Travis has only become tolerable now he's had his "Nebraska" moment and stopped being a wet blanket. And I'm still miffed they never brought back Tobias, the genre-savvy kid from the first few episodes. Could have been cool to play around with a meta character and various tropes, like how being genre-savvy does not equate to automatic badass and how the reality versus fantasy of this type of apocalypse would be way different from what we imagine. Also he could ask the logical questions that no-one ever considers, such as "Who's keeping our nuclear plants from melting down?" At the very least, he'd have been more tolerable than frickin' Chris.

I just started watching Vikings. It's exquisite. I especially like the way Athelstan has been set up as the stand-in for an audience that has little understanding of Viking Age Scandinavian culture.

My problem with shows like the Vikings is that there are too many episodes to catch up on which deters me from watching it.

I hated the newest episode of Doctor Who. It was terrible. The only good thing that came out it was the knock on the door to the cage the Doctor was protecting. I kind of guessed who was in there (The Master? Idk just a guess).

Looking forward to GOT, new X-files, and new Preacher seasons
What's with the spring TV season being better?
I also never get tired of Supernatural, but I wait a year to find new eps on Netflix. So I'm always behind.

The return of Twin Peaks premiered last night, and I'm going to watch it later today. I decided to re-watch the first 2 seasons before season 3 hit, but after the main mystery is solved it in mid-season 2 it becomes a bit of a slog. I'm not sure I will finish the re-watch before I cave and just watch the new ones anyway. Given I haven't watched all of it since the original airing in '91 I wonder how confused I will be if I just ignore the later half of season 2 and the movie, I'm guessing very.

I had never actually watched Twin Peaks until earlier this month (having been born in 1992) and I tend to agree it becomes much less compelling after the main mystery is solved. Only like the last five minutes of the movie will actually help bridge you into the new one I think. EDIT: I just found out the movie I watched was actually a cut of all the deleted scenes from the film rather than the film itself, weird.

I watched the first season of Sense8. I liked the overall plot which was pretty fascinating but it seems like the theme and tone of the series was all over the place. Like it didn't know if it wanted to be taken seriously or be a romantic comedy. Too much relationship drama and real world politics for my taste. There were one or two characters whose stories I really liked - mostly Wolfgang. I also liked Sun until the very cliche and badly written end to her character arc (when her father suddenly repents and wants to save her).
Heard season 3 is canceled.
