I remember this thread. I have seen reactions from all enemies concerning these weak points except from Atlas's and to an extent Banshees...Atlas's especially seem to just keep walking forward no matter how much damage they take on. I haven't seen them react to those weak points unless i hit them with some sort of fire/ice explosion. Banshees will react by putting their hands up, but even with them, i've seen them warp forward even tho i'm hitting them in the stomach and unleashing head shots...
It probably is working as intended, but i guess it could be just the game mechanics/mannerisms overall.

I seem to remember the edges of the canopy on Atlases being the best place to shoot them if you have massive amounts of penetration, simply because of the multi-hit bug. Could be wrong on that though.

The Atlas kneecaps and shoulder blades fly off after a certain amount of damage and they'll get staggered. You need keep hitting them, though.

You'll do even more damage if you shoot it in the fart box.

Oh, wow, I had no idea.... thank you for sharing. It's not a joke, right? No joke, those are legit. Shooting the Atlas in the crotch plate will be more useful if you want to stagger the Atlas. Otherwise it's quicker to aim for the canopy with armor piercing. Another tip would be to try and line up the weakspots in one shot. The scion's head and shoulder can be hit together with piercing. Same for ravager sacks and "head." It's part of the reason BSNers seem to kill stuff more quickly.

To be honest, I aim for the crotch on every enemy.

Could be wrong on that though. This is right. Lower canopy sliver of window does a ton of damage. Shooting the plates off them does decent damage and it does stagger but not multi hits. Scion sack rupture does more damage I believe than just a simple head shot. You can usually hit both though.

You have to have sufficient piercing though for most multiple hits.

Doesn't matter who / what they are. Just shoot either ends. I read somewhere the devs recommend shooting banshees in the belly so I often do that.

Thank you peddro and FreekOne for the Atlas and Ravager testing.
FreekOne actually analyzed the model in an editor and found the extra weak points. Then I got to help him and peddro test the Ravager weak points.
Memories.
