This lighting is homophobic. But Jaal looks like a sex demon ready to devour me (with emotions and feelings) which makes up for it. Anyway, yeah, had the sex. At least 5 times. Of course I have a save for this particular scene, duh. Obviously NSFW warning here.

I love the Drack/Jaal squad! Took him to Jaals LM though and for some reason he didn't bring his A game! He charged ahead so many times and threw off my attempts to disarm the bombs resulting in Ryder Swiss cheese Drack summoned all the wildlife on Havarl once when I was sneaking up on Roekaar. I wanted to cry haha Jaal got smashed by an Eiroch because of him! I will say one thing I learned about Jaal though, he's good at teaching battle tactics. It's no wonder he's Evfra's top man! It is my headcanon that, aside from being a sniper, Jaal's main thing in the Resistance was bringing recruits up to speed

So true. I am so happy and yet at the same time so depressed over this 4 month nightmare that still hasn't ended. It will though. Eventually. I should sleep now. I was not focusing too well and just drove the Nomad onto the Tempest. Kallo was not happy lol night all! Happy Jaalmancing! Does he say anything different if you drive onto the Tempest instead of walking over it? Haha no just the "Really? Ryder?" Love love loved it Gwyvian ! medaifan daaamn I was right about the no bead eh? Fine looking Scott there! Yeah that area is not only my fav, but recognize it? It's the first image you see when you wake from cryo! It's destined. pieszka89 they tweaked all the animations in the game. Everyone is more expressive now! Jaal smiles a lot at Sara, etc... no awkward staring anymore when flirting. I've already noticed it with Cora especially. She's got a lot of new expressions! witchcocktor I love your Ryder's hair style so much!

You know romances are great and all, but this time I am more focused on actual exploring, and when I am fighting enemies, collecting loot and discovering ancient history, it feels more like the BW games of old, like DAO. People should really take their time, enjoy it at a slower pace and I think they'll find it's not as short as they think, and friendships/relationships develop at a much more natural pace too.
Also a tip for you Scott/Jaal romancers: Next time you do a new playthrough (since many of you did like us ladies and rushed to see it all haha), you have many different ways you can romance Jaal. I listed them sometime backs, here they are again!
1. All 3 friendship tones 2. 2 friendship tones and a flirt 3. 1 friendship tone and 2 flirts 4. 3 flirts
Any of those combos will get you the "Dearest" email!
Note: The Liam/Jaal flirt and Akksul flirt do not advance the relationship and are just for fun.

Finally finished my run. What a journey. I might as well write down my thoughts on the romance.
Having a romanceable plot-important squadmate was so important. It made going through the game so much more enjoyable. A lot of the game is about exploring and doing it with your romanceable partner creates narrative. Having Jaal watch you die like two times right in front of his eyes, I mean, there's so much story you could write there already. Being plot-important and having a loyalty mission makes your romance seem like a big part of the narrative as well, and really helps flesh out you and your relationship. I felt connected to the story, to my Ryder, to Jaal.. it was really a nice feeling after being stuck with Reyes and Gil, who didn't offer such an experience.
The friendship/companionship options were a good addition, and it made sense. You wouldn't flirt with a completely strange alien the minute you see him, no matter how hot and interesting he is. The fact that you spend a portion of the romance developing trust and friendship added a layer to the romance that made the progress of the relationship more realistic. Slowburn is one of my favorite things, although it got frustrating after a while, only being able to bond on a platonic level, but when you got that first heart option, I was so hype. It was all worth the wait and effort, and that first flirt was hella, HELLA cute.
What made Scott x Jaal groundbreaking to me, was the open admiration and love Jaal has for Scott. He pined for me as much as I pined for him, and having him confess his feelings to me, I am really, really happy about that. Most m/m BW romances start with sex, and the romance aspect comes afterwards. But this time, it's a natural progression from friendship to flirting to lovers and finally, a fully commited, emotional and sexual relationships, where both people are equally invested. What was also nice was getting compliments. That's something that was missing in a lot of m/m romances as well. Jaal spares no time telling you how amazing and attractive you are, and it made me so happy. I like being complimented and I like real romantic romance. And this is the first time a m/m romance has given me both, and it is very apparent. And an all-around happy ending feels so good.. DLC better not fuck that up.
I'm also really happy that Jaal is definitely attracted to Scott sexually, and this is not just an emotional relationship. The email after the sex scene, he compliments your eyes, your arms and your mouth. Funnily two of those are very important in terms of giving sexual pleasure to someone lol.
When it comes to how Scott x Jaal is represented, and how the romance takes Scott's personality in consideration, I think everyone is going to have a different opinion on it. My personal take on Scott x Jaal, without knowing how different it really is from Sara's because I haven't watched that romance, is this: Scott and Jaal start from natural curiosity and wanting to build trust and companionship. I feel that they are both awkward at this point, and for a reason. After establishing trust and a friendship, Scott takes the drivers seat in their relationship, and Jaal kind of comes off as a giggling schoolboy, taken back by Scott's flirtation. Scott is a smooth talker, and I don't think Jaal was expecting such open flirtation from Scott at all, maybe because he thought aliens weren't as open with their feelings like the angara. I don't think it has anything to do with Scott being a dude, or that this is the first time Jaal is interested in a man. But it's Scott, his smoothness and him being so upfront that probably throws Jaal a bit off, even though he is receptive to Scott's flirts.
As their relationship develops and it's not just casual flirts anymore, but real feelings, Jaal takes initiative and confesses to wanting more, all while still retaining that kind of... innocence and submissiveness that he has had with Scott. He confesses, and is overjoyed that the feelings are mutual. That little victorious '' YES!! '' he has after Scott agreeing to a serious relationship with Jaal was honestly, darn cute. Afterwards, Jaal definitely takes some initiative in the relationship. Even Scott is happy how open Jaal is with him with his feelings after they enter a relationship.
The sex scene showcased a slight change of roles in their relationship, at least a little. The relationship started with Scott being more dominant, but now Jaal showcases his dominant side as well. Scott, while still not being a giggling schoolboy, is definitely fine with taking the more submissive role and letting Jaal swoon him and pamper him. But that of course lasts only so long and Scott is ready to ravage and be ravaged, pushing Jaal down with him into the water.
The relationships ends up being really passionated, and it does feel very mature, without skipping out on the cheesy romance, awkwardness and playfulness. I spit my drink when I was watching the post-sex discussion where they were both playfully calling each other '' the alien '' and then Jaal says that he wants to devour Scott. So it's not all serious feels, there is some playfulness (and obvious sexual affection) in there. I think Scott and Jaal bring out different sides out of each other than both of them didn't really know that existed.
Their relationship has so much mutual passion and pining, and it is very balanced, and it really feels like two aliens falling in love and two adult men falling in love. It doesn't skip out on drama, cheesiness, romance, sex, emotions... It's a very, very positive portrayal of m/m relationships, and a very healthy emotional and physical/sexual relationship. And thank god for that.
There are only two cons I've found. 1) This relationship should've been in the game from the beginning. 2) Not a big con, but I think it would've been neat if Jaal had Scott in his arms, but since the relationship is pretty balanced on who takes the more '' dominant '' role, it's fine.
All in all, 5/5 husband, 5/5 romance, 5/5 addition to the game. Thanks BW!

witchcocktor Sara/Jaal is pretty similar, except for the domination part. Sara is always the one being led, except when she kisses him if you use the interrupt during the Aya scene. Your post pretty much describes how I felt when I romanced him too the first time (it's wonderful isn't it? ). It's amazing how he's equally satisfying to both Ryders, yet different enough that we each get our own unique love story. Cathleen is an amazing woman! I know many mocked Sara/Jaal (and I admit it was pretty hurtful) but I'm glad some are getting the chance to understand why we love it.

I know you guys don't need to hear it from me of all people (who has never been shy about my support for Bi Jaal and my gay agenda ) but I and SOOOO happy for this and everyone who's happy about this!

I'll be honest though, I'm happy yet also put out slightly. Many of us were treated like crap in the romance thread when wanting to share our love of Jaal, now everyone has him and no one is attacking the Jaal/Scott guys here (because many of us were not like that and always welcomed everyone to join), but some of us ladies endured a lot, making it unpleasant at times. I am glad it's all over, but some pains might linger a bit more for me, though it's not at anyone here but BW and EA for causing it to go so wrong when the game launched. Past is past, I'll let it go, but I just needed to voice this before I moved on. Also I understand how torn many were, and I know much of the mocking was not intentional. I just wanted to get the bad out of the way, and now focus on the good! Oh, come on, it all started from you and your famous *stomps off* comment. I just needed to voice this before I moved on.

And most of those people gushing about jaal were the same people claiming bisexuality would ruin him (including you) so yeah, seeing those people gush about him when they're advocating the bisexuality they wanted would ruin him, or even the people who were just homophobic turd bags gush about him in the middle of being upset, there would be some hostility. You shouldn't be put out that no one is being salty towards Jaal/Scott players like it was towards some Sara and Jaal players because it's not true. It was those who were being disgusting that got that treatment. My friends who all wanted Jaal and Scott never acted that way towards me because I was supportive. They were happy for me and glad I enjoyed it. Whether or not you mean to blame Bioware or ME team whatever, you respect the reaction people gave YOU as did the 'straight female players' who were being jerks about the situation. It's honesty NOT Bioware' fault in that regard. Not implementing BI Jaal at first? Absolutely their fault. Hostility and anger towards certain players gushing about bi Jaal after saying things like gays don't deserve anything, or that Jaal is 'always going to be straight to me' or those who are were homophobic is On the people who started talking nasty.

Like I said, I said what I felt and that's that, and I already said I never meant that shit because I was angry and when angry I say things that I know will hurt, but not what I feel. My feelings won't change on what happened no matter what anyone tells me. It's over now and I am moving on and ignoring anymore posts about it. Oh that's fine. You can feel what you want to feel. And we spoke about it before. I won't bring it out here because that was done in PMS. All I'm saying is that while you feel the way you want to feel and I'm not saying that it should change or has to. I'm just letting you know, the hostility wasn't as though it wasn't deserved. As I said, I wasn't going to be holding anything over your head and OBVIOUSLY over the past few weeks I've let it go. But, making a comment like that when a lot of the anger people, including yourself received deserved looks like you're not taking responsibility and wanting sympathy you don't really deserve in that context. But, I'll let The subject drop and If you want to talk, my PMS are always open

I'm more than sure it wasn't the fact that people were sharing their love for Jaal that was the problem. It was doing it amidst people having hurt feelings and in the middle of all the homophobic crap people had to deal with when MakeJaalBi hashtag started up. And I don't need to remind you of the people you were protecting being homophobic and starting mess. It wasn't as though it wasn't warranted entirely I know what happened (and it started with defending a liar who told me things that were untrue about many in that thread, and I will never do that again), but I am still voicing my feelings so I can move on. It's healthy.Nope, it's not healthy. By voicing your "feelings" you're hurting others by your false statements (people who were treated like crap the most are m/m players who had to deal with homophobic and biphobic comments. Some of them were written by "friends" who were defended by you for no reason). And by writing a post like this you're showing that you're still holding a grudge against people who only wanted equal treatment by making Jaal bi. It's better to let it go, but noooo.

I guess I'm just saying that none of this should have happened and it's not fair we couldn't enjoy it, they couldn't enjoy it, and now that we all can, many wounds are going to take a long time to heal. It just never should have been this way. I want to go back to March and have all this content in the game already. We were such a happy family and I just want that back.
