I'll be honest though, I'm happy yet also put out slightly. Many of us were treated like crap in the romance thread when wanting to share our love of Jaal, now everyone has him and no one is attacking the Jaal/Scott guys here (because many of us were not like that and always welcomed everyone to join), but some of us ladies endured a lot, making it unpleasant at times. I am glad it's all over, but some pains might linger a bit more for me, though it's not at anyone here but BW and EA for causing it to go so wrong when the game launched. Past is past, I'll let it go, but I just needed to voice this before I moved on. Also I understand how torn many were, and I know much of the mocking was not intentional. I just wanted to get the bad out of the way, and now focus on the good! LC, I think we all just want to move on, which is why it's best to let sleeping dogs lie. Everyone has their side of this argument. We all know each other's perspectives. It may be impossible to resolve so it's best to just move past it. I really appreciate this post you made: I respect what you've written here and that it's your final say on this topic. If you could stick to that I'm pretty sure we would all get along famously, just like the good old days.

LC, you're the one who brought up the past. I know you said that you want to move on and let it go. You WANT it to be like before, cool. It won't happen (or quickly at least)because some people won't be able to let things go. But wanting it isn't wrong .
And I know you want to express how you feel but You went about it in the wrong way. As I pointed out, feeling the way you feel can't be changed and I'm not saying it should be. But posting it openly Invited the interpretation everyone sees and does scream 'passing the blame'. I don't want to continue talking about it openly here because this thread should still be used for Jaal and those who are on friendly terms should feel like they can do it here.
I've seen nothing but positive sharing and dragging up the past could change that.

I just hope the next BW game learns from this and we can all remain happy like we are now.

Eh, most of the people I saw hating over the Jaal romance are still doing it, simply because they decided they didn't like Jaal. I swear there are some people out there who have to dislike things just because so many others like it. They can suck eggs. :dumb:

If my bbys here don't mind, I Want to try to bring us back on topic. I'm sure it's been discussed before but with the new patch I thought we could touch on it again so everyone can be included.
Discussion:
Are there any personal headcannons you have for Jaal? Be I just him, his romantic relationship with ryder, or their friendship? Anything!

Soulmates. Doesn't even have to be romantic. Jaal's writer said he grows with the Pathfinder, so I see him and Ryder as I saw Shepard and Javik. How did you see Javik and Shepard? Javik was the Shepard of his time, but he was awakened in a world where he knew little about, had a serious lack of trust and it had to be earned (which he finally shakes your hand at the end of the game). He starts to learn more about the races that have changed over so many years, connects to Shepard and even tries to teach Shepard about what he knew and what should be done. He forms a bond with Shepard and finds himself along the way. He is harsher than Jaal of course, but Jaal in many ways is the same. Jaal is overwhelmed by the new races, tries to learn of them and has trust issues. He teaches Ryder all he knows, and finds himself through it, thanks to the bond he forms with them. Both Javik and Jaal in my opinion were meant to meet Shepard and Ryder because they were destined to find a new purpose in life, and in the end found someone like them. That's how I see it.

So now that most have finished their Jaal romance (damn, some of you play really fast) What does everyone think would make the romance better and what would you add? Unless you already consider it perfect.
I would add some more emotion when Ryder dies for the second time. Add a repeatable kiss scene like DA. I would've also liked to learn a little more about Angara culture from Jaal himself. See the gift giving scene.
EDIT: to answer jewlie's question, as for my own personal headcanon with Jaal? They take apart guns and practice shooting together regularly. I would've liked more hobby sharing honestly.

Sara gets plenty of kisses. Hugging him at the Facility when he's crying should have been an option. Scott gets to hug Cora! Jaal sucked so bad in that department, but Shie made up for it.

My issue with Javik, Sebastian, and Shale is even though I like those characters a lot, they came out pretty soon after the main game was released. In some cases (maybe all?) the same day. Javik and Shale are two of my favs but I am really glad that Andromeda didn't go that route and I am happy that all this new content with Jaal was added for free. Now 6 months-year from now if we get an awesome Qurian companion and DLC then I would be pretty happy and I would feel like it was an addition to the game, not something they took out of the main game and charged us for later.
Hopefully us Deluxe+ buyers will get it for free but I am not sure Multiplayer is doing as well financially as EA had hoped.

Onecrazymonkey1 the more I think about it, I am pretty sure loverboy Jaal was meant to be a romance focused companion more than anything else, that's why he lacked Angaran knowledge. Most of his story is connected to his romance, and you get the most out of it by choosing him. As just a friend, it's sweet, but lacking majorly. It reminds me of Solas, yet with Solas it was easy to romance others and still feel close to him as a friend. Jaal is all about the romance.
